Moral of Andersen's Emperor's New Clothes is the dangers of mob-rule. Mnangagwa is illegitimate, naked! W Mukori

Ever since the day SADC Election Observer Mission (SEOM) led by Dr Nevers Mumba of Zambia released their preliminary report condemning the 23 August 2023 as flawed and illegal, Emmerson Mnangagwa and his apologists and toads have declare war on Dr Mumba. They have thrown everything including the kitchen sink at him; to discredit him in the vain hope by discrediting him they discredit the SEOM report!

“President Hichilema throws Mumba under the bus!” proclaimed Nkululeko Nkomo, in Bulawayo 24 article.

“Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema has distanced himself from a report by the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Head of Electoral Observation Mission in the just-ended elections, Dr. Nevers Sikwela, that alleged electoral irregularities in Zimbabwe,” Nkomo explained.

“Last Monday, President Hichilema sent his Foreign Affairs Minister, Stanley Kakubo, to the inauguration of President Emmerson Mnangagwa. This move was seen as a sign that he did not endorse the report's findings.

“President Hichilema has not commented publicly on the report, but his actions suggest that he does not believe that Mumba's report was accurate. By sending his Foreign Affairs Minister to the inauguration, he essentially endorsed President Mnangagwa's victory.”

And, in Nkomo’s infantile wisdom, THAT is tantamount to President Hichilema “throwing Dr Mumba under the bus”!

Everyone with half a brain knows that Zimbabwe was forced to form the 2008 to 2013 GNU after the country failed to hold free, fair and credible elections. The primary purpose of that GNU was to implement the democratic reforms to stop the blatant cheating and wanton violence of 2008. SADC leaders wanted the 2013 elections postponed because not even one token reform was implemented.

“If you participate in next month’s elections, you will lose. The elections are done!” SADC leaders warned Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends at the June 2013 SADC Summit in Maputo, Mozambique.

Alas! MDC leaders paid no heed to the advice and we all know Zanu PF went now to blatantly rig those elections. SADC, in sheer exasperation, went on to grant Zanu PF political legitimacy knowing fully well that the elections were flawed and illegal.

MDC leaders acknowledge they had made a fatal mistake in participating in the 2013 elections without implementing the reforms. MDC-T resolved at their 2014 party congress they would not participate in future elections without first implementing the reforms. “No reforms, no elections!” they chanted.

After a year they ditched the “No reforms, no elections!” They participated in the 2018 elections with no reforms for the same reasons they participated in the 2013 elections and had failed to implement even one token reform during the GNU - greed and breath-taking incompetence.

In like fashion SADC once again granted Zanu PF political legitimacy in 2018 as in 2013 knowing fully well the elections were flawed and illegal. Dr Nevers Mumba and his fellow SADC Election Observer Mission (SEOM) team pointed the election flaws and illegalities that everyone in SADC and AU knew were there but did not dare admit.

The SEOM team was nothing more that the little boy who pointed out that the Emperor was naked in the classical folktale, The Emperor’s New Clothes by  Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. The moral of the tale was to illustrate the dangers of conformity and mob rule.

SEOM report mere pointed out the lie that Zimbabwe elections were free, fair and credible and got the gene out of the bottle. The reaction of the Zanu PF regime and its apologists was an all out attack on Dr Mumba; the region could not deny the election process was flawed and illegal, the message, and so went after the messenger.

One only hopes that SADC and AU will not be bullied and bamboozled by Mnangagwa and his hounds into granting vote rigging Zanu PF political legitimacy.

CCC defy SADC to take up gravy train seats "to occupy liberated zones". Yeah, same reason Animal Farm pigs drunk all the milk! W Mukori

It is bad enough to claim a square is a circle one minute and then the exact opposite, a square is NOT a circle, the next minute. The Zimbabwe elections have Chamisa and company in totally confusion they are now saying a square is a circle and is NOT a circle in the same breath!

Officially CCC has backed SADC, AU, Carter Centre, EU and many other observer missions’ preliminary reports who have condemned Zimbabwe’s 23 August 2023 elections as flawed and illegal, so flawed and illegal the process could not produce legitimate result. The party’s leaders boycotted Mnangagwa’s inauguration ceremony in tune with many other leaders from SADC, Africa and beyond.

If the election process was condemned as flawed and illegal it could not produce a  legitimate winner and so ZEC’s declaration of Mnangagwa as the winner of the elections did confer legitimacy on him. Boycotting the inauguration therefore saved the important purpose of underlining Mnangagwa was not legitimate.

The double take rises from CCC leaders attending their own swearing in ceremonies up and down the country so they can take they seats on the gravy train. The same flawed and illegal election process, judged could not produce a legitimate president is producing legitimate CCC MPs and councillors. And here is how CCC tried to square the circle!

“Champions good afternoon.

The position of the party remains as articulated at the press conference on the 29th of August 2023 that:

1) we reject the election results because they did not meet our domestic laws and SADC guidelines and principles.

2. Because of  the above we are calling for FRESH elections underwritten and supervised by SADC and AU.

3. Where ever we won, under very difficult circumstances, it shows our resolve and tenacity as a party and we  will continue to occupy such spaces and regard such as liberated zones.

4. We will embark on a diplomatic offensive as well as taking political action.

The above sums the broad party position. What we should also remember is that we are controlling 33/34 towns and cities and the swearing of them is also pending.

The swearing in is for all who were declared by ZEC as winners and will not retard our fight for FRESH ELECTIONS.

Be guided accordingly.”

The contradiction, confusion and sheer hypocrisy in CCC’s position becomes glaring obvious when the above is applied to the 2008 to 2013 GNU; greed ruled the roost and there was no “liberated zone” to hide.

MDC leaders failed to implement not even one democratic reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU because Mugabe bribed Morgan Tsvangirai and company with the trappings of high office, the ministerial limos, generous salaries and allowances including US$60 000 for a car and US$ 4 million mansion for Tsvangirai. In return MDC leaders throw reforms out of the window.

“Mazivanhu eMDC adzidza kudya anyerere!” (MDC leaders have learned to enjoy the gravy train good life, they will not rock the boat!) boasted Zanu PF cronies when asked why MDC were not implementing reforms during the GNU.

If any MDC leaders had tried to rationalise and justify their treasonous failure to implement even one democratic reform in five years of the GNU then the party would have borrowed a page from George Orwell’s Animal Farm. MDC leaders forgot about the reforms during the GNU because they had the snouts in the feeding trough, just like the pigs in Animal Farm gorged themselves on milk and apples.

“When Squealer explains to the animals why the pigs have been getting all the milk and apples, he reveals his rhetorical skill and ability to "skip from side to side" to convince the animals that the pigs' greed is actually a great sacrifice,” explained Cliff in Cliff Notes.

“Appealing to science (which presumably has proven that apples and milk are "absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig") and lying about pigs disliking the very food they are hoarding, Squealer manages a great public-relations stunt by portraying the pigs as near-martyrs who only think of others and never themselves. "It is for your sake that we drink that milk and eat those apples," Squealer explains, and his dazzling pseudo-logic persuades the murmuring animals that the pigs are, in fact, selfless.

“Squealer's rhetorical question, "Surely there is no one among you who wants to see Jones back?" is the first of many times when Squealer will invoke the name of Jones to convince the animals that — despite any discontentment they may feel — their present lives are greatly preferable to the ones they led under their old master.

“Orwell's tone when describing the animals' reaction to Squealer ("The importance of keeping the pigs in good health was all too obvious") is markedly ironic and again signals to the reader that the pigs are slowly changing into a new form of their old oppressors.”

Judging from the reaction in social media, many of the CCC supporters see nothing wrong with the duplicity of condemning the flawed elections and calling Mnangagwa illegitimate and yet convenient ignore that the electoral process was flawed to justify celebrating CCC electoral victory.

The truth is MDC/CCC leaders have been participating in these flawed and illegal elections knowing fully well that they are flawed, that participating will give the process some modicum of credibility and thus give Zanu PF legitimacy. They have soldiered on regardless out of greed. What is more, they have known all these things all along.

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

If any one thought that Chamisa et al would have the common sense not to openly contradict and undermine SADC and AU by taking up their gravy train seats the Zanu PF regime some modicum of illegitimate. They were wrong, greed rules the CCC roost, there is no reasoning with that lot!

Chamisa will insist that he and his MDC/CCC friends have failed to implement even one reform in 23 years, have been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the dictatorship and they today defying SADC and U to take up their gravy train seats for the benefit of the ordinary Zimbabweans.

"It is for your sake that we drink that milk and eat those apples," Squealer explained.

ANC in "delicate" talks with errant Zanu PF. Just remember they are the problem and, per se, cannot be the solution too. W Mukori

South Africa's ruling party, the African National Congress (ANC), is engaged in "delicate" talks with Zanu-PF in Zimbabwe following disputed elections, secretary general Fikile Mbalula has said,” reported Bulawayo 24.

“Publicly, the ANC has endorsed President Emmerson Mnangagwa's disputed victory while dismissing his Citizens Coalition for Change rival Nelson Chamisa as a "puppet" of western countries.

“Now it appears the ANC has been employing a strategy to soften Zanu-PF and buy leverage in closed-door discussions.

“Mbalula revealed the discussions in a leaked letter to the OR Tambo School of Leadership which had planned to host, this Thursday, Zimbabwe academic Ibbo Mandaza for a lecture under the title: ‘The State of Democracy in the SADC Region: A Reflection on the National Elections of Zimbabwe.'

“Mbalula has asked that the lecture be paused.”

"At the moment the leadership of the ANC is engaged in a number of delicate engagements regarding the situation in Zimbabwe. In this context, a public lecture, at this time, on what is clearly an ANC platform, would complicate these initiatives," Mbalula wrote to OR Tambo School of Leadership principal, David Masondo.

If you ask me, I would say the penny has finally dropped in the empty heads of ANC leaders themselves. When President Cyril Ramaphosa and his ANC friends announced at their party congress last November that NC will not allow regime change in Zimbabwe they expected both SADC and AU election observer teams to turn a blind eye to the blatant Zanu PF vote rigging as usual.

And so ANC leaders were surprised when SADC Election Observer Mission (SEOM) came up with the damning report. Of course, everyone knew that Zanu PF was rigging these elections, the process is flawed and illegal. The AU observers confirmed the same things. Once the vote rigging gene was out of the bottle there was no putting it back.

ANC must negotiating to reassure Mnangagwa that he and his Zanu PF cronies will retain as much power and control as the 2008 to 2013 GNU.

What ANC leaders must know is that the new GNU MUST implement all the democratic reforms which should have been implemented in the 2008 to 2013 GNU. A tall order if Zanu PF and CCC leaders are in the new GNU. The two parties were in the 2008 GNU and failed to implement even one token reform in five year. Why should any one trust them to implement the reforms this time?

Zimbabwe is stuck in this economic and political mess precisely because of the treacherous betrayal by both Zanu PF and MDC/CCC leaders these last 43 and 23 years respectively. Both Zanu PF and CCC are the problem and, per se, they cannot be the solution too!

Zimbabwe wasted the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms during the 2008 to 2013 GNU; the country has been very lucky to get another chance. There are many Zimbabweans who know what the required reforms are and what must be done to implement them and get the nation back on a healthy and functioning democratic footing.

Zimbabwe cannot afford to waste this second and, possibly last chance for this generation at least, to end this obnoxious dictatorship. And all for what: to appease the corrupt and murderous tyrants and sell outs who landed us in the mess in the first place!

Mr ANC Secretary General, Fikile Mbalula, Zanu PF and CCC cannot and must not be in the new GNU; that is not negotiable!

Mnangagwa defied all to present fait accompli sworn government, it incumbent on all that he fails. W Mukori

Well, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has defied SADC and AU who condemned the 23 August 2023 election process as a flawed and illegal process that could not produce a legitimate. He has gone ahead and staged his inauguration and present the world with a Zanu PF government fait accompli. What is the world going to do about it?

The short answer to that is: Mnangagwa must not be allowed to get away with his arrogant disregard of the rule of law. Zanu PF has got away with rigged elections since the country’s independence, 43 years ago, turning Zimbabwe into the textbook failed state; this madness must now be stamped out.

SADC and AU election observers said Zimbabwe’s 23 August 2023 elections were not free, fair and credible pointing out such glaring flaws as ZEC’s failure to produce something as basic as a verified voters roll. The truth is the observers were pointing out well documented the flaws and illegalities it was impossible for Zanu PF and its supporters to deny the flaws and illegalities much less refute the conclusion that it was impossible for such flawed and illegal election process to produce a legitimate result. Impossible!

Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF cronies tried to get discredit the SADC Election Observer Mission (SEOM) report by mounting a ferocious attack on  Dr  Never Mumba, the SEOM head - a typical Zanu PF dirty tactic of attacking the messenger since they could not dispute the message. When that failed, the regime brought in SADC Panel of Elders in the hope they would water down the SEOM report. That too failed.

In the end Mnangagwa decided to ignore SADC and AU condemnation of the election and declare himself and his regime legitimate. His 4 September inauguration present the world with a fait accompli Zanu PF government! The question is what is the world going to do about it?

SADC and AU leaders have stand firm by their reports condemning the elections  and refuse to grant Zanu PF political legitimacy. Most of the SADC and AU leaders did not attend Mnangagwa’s inauguration, signalling their disapproval. They must follow this up by withdrawing their cooperation with the regime and imposing sanctions.

Zimbabwe’s opposition must not take up their seats in parliament to deny the regime any modicum of legitimacy and feel this can ever be business as usual. It is the very least these sell out opposition leaders can do.

Lest some people should ever forget, Zimbabwe is still stuck in this political mess of rigged elections precisely because MDC/CCC leaders not only sold out by failing to implement even one democratic reform to stop Zanu PF rigging elections but have compounded the situation by insisting in participating in these flawed elections out of greed.

Neither Zanu PF nor the sell out opposition should profit from the political paralysis in Zimbabwe today. Even more significantly neither should play a role in the way forward, They failed to implement even one token reform during the first GNU, it is naive, to say the least, to expect them to do any better.

Both SADC and AU played a major role in denying Zanu PF political legitimacy following the 2008 elections resulting in the formation of the 2008 to 2013 GNU. The people of Zimbabwe we must accept we let ourselves down by failing to force Zanu PF and MDC leaders to implement all the democratic reforms. We failed to give SADC our full backing when the regional leaders tried to get the reforms implemented.

This time, we must not be found wanting in giving both SADC and AU our full backing in demanding an end to Zimbabwe’s curse of rigged elections and bad governance. We have a real chance of having a new GNU and a chance to finally get the democratic reforms finally implemented, we must not waste it!

SA was over represented at ED's illegal inauguration, ANC vowed to stop regime change in Zimbabwe W Mukori

Only three or so SADC heads of State and Government out of a possible 15 attended Mnangagwa’s inauguration. There were heads of State and Government from the rest of Africa or further afield. For one very good reason - it is widely accepted that Zimbabwe’s 23 August 2023 elections were flawed and illegal, so much so the process could not produce a legitimate winner.

There is nothing new in Zimbabwe’s elections being condemned, one would argue. The EU, Americans, Commonwealth and most other western election observers condemned Zimbabwe’s 2018 elections, for example. Well these 2023 elections were different in that Zimbabwe’s regional and continental bodies, SADC and AU, known for rubber stamping Zanu PF’s rigged elections in the past; led from the front in condemning the 23 August 2023 elections.

A select group of SADC Panel of Elders were invited to come to Zimbabwe last week to meet with the SADC Election Observer Mission (SEOM), minus the mission’s head, Dr Nevers Mumba from Zambia. The purpose of the Elders was to sweet talk SEOM into watering down their damning report so the process can produce a legitimate result.

After a week of quiet diplomacy the SADC Panel of Elders left Zimbabwe without saying anything. SEOM’s damning report stood!

So proclamation of Emmerson Mnangagwa as President of Zimbabwe was null and void since the 23 August 2023 election process was declared so flawed and illegal it could not produce a legitimate result. The 4 September swearing in ceremony was illegal and in defiance of SADC and AU’s pronouncement on the matter.

Whilst many SADC, AU and other nations shied away from the Mnangagwa swearing in ceremony the one country that did not shy away was SA. President Cyril Ramaphosa, ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula and many other ANC government/party officials were there. When the history of the last few months is final known and written it will be no surprise to know that ANC played a major role in trying to get the SEOM report censured to secure Zanu PF legitimacy.

SA’s ANC led government has emerged as Zanu PF regime’s staunchest  supporters, particularly in the last two or three years. Last year in November the party resolved that it would not allow regime change in Zimbabwe, an outrageous resolution since this is ordinarily the exclusive right of the Zimbabwe electorate in a free, fair and credible elections.

Of course, President Ramaphosa and his ANC colleagues were aware that with not even one token democratic reform implemented since the rigged 2018 elections it was certain Zanu PF would once again rig the 2023 elections. The message from ANC to Zanu was clear enough, “You go ahead and rig the 2023 elections and we will see to it that Zanu PF is granted political legitimacy!”

There is no doubt that ANC government was shocked and disappointed by both the AU and SADC’s damning reports of Zimbabwe’s elections. But why is this ANC government bending over backwards to keep Zanu PF in power?

After all SA did play a major role in forcing Zanu PF to accept the 2008 GNU after both SADC and AU had condemned that year’s elections process just as they have done again this year. What has changed?

Put simply, ANC is fighting to stop regime change in Zimbabwe for selfish reasons.

After 30 years of ANC rule, South Africa is well on its way to becoming just another failed African state. Zimbabwe’s status as a failed state is well established and confirmed, after decades of corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF rule. And the root cause of Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown and political paralysis in the country’s failure to hold free, fair and credible elections; the nation has been stuck with the corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF for 43 years.

The ANC government knows the cure to Zimbabwe’s failed state is for the country to break the curse of rigged elections and bad governance. The SEOM damning report has denied Zanu PF political legitimacy is giving Zimbabwe a second chance to get the democratic reforms necessary to end the vote rigging finally implemented. President Ramaphosa know all this but are standing in the way by imposing the Zanu PF regime on Zimbabwe for purely selfish reasons.

ANC is worried that if the people of Zimbabwe are able to finally booted Zanu PF out of office because the 23 August elections were free and fair or by denying Zanu PF legitimacy because the party rigged the elections; this would encourage South Africans to seek regime change too in that country’s next year, 2024, elections. The temptation to seek regime change would be overwhelm if Zimbabwe’s economy was to register any signs of economic recovery - the very thing SA would want to stop their own 30 years slide in become another failed state.

Many South Africans have become increasingly aware of the sinister role ANC has been playing in propping up Zanu PF to the economic detriment of Zimbabwe, South Africa and the whole SADC regime. South African will soon know that ANC attended Mnangagwa’s inauguration prop up the illegitimate regime and in defiance of SADC and the AU. Zimbabweans will see to it that are aware of these facts especially when they vote in next year’s elections.

This Mnangagwa regime is illegitimate and both SADC and the AU must not relent on this. If Zanu PF was to be deprived of the political backing of ANC government because the party was booted out of office, this Zanu PF regime will collapse if it should last that long!

"The world will not end if Hichilema does not attend ED inauguration!" True, SEOM continue to speak volumes. W Mukori

“It will not be the start or the end of the world if Zambia’s President Haikainde Hichilema does not attend tomorrow’s inauguration,” stated Professor Jonathan Moyo in his recent article.

“Whether President Hakainde Hichilema attends the inauguration tomorrow is entirely up to him, no big deal. The proposition that the inauguration will have no legitimacy if he does not attend is wholly absurd and preposterous.

“The Zambian President is only that, the President of the Republic of Zambia. He is not the President of SADC, not even the President of SADC's Organ Troika on Politics, Defence and Security, but only the current Chairperson of the Organ.

Yes, of course, it will not be the start or end of the world if President Hichilema do or does not attend President Mnangagwa’s swearing-in ceremony. Only a fool would suggest otherwise.

Indeed, it will not matter one bit if all or none of the other SADC leaders attend the ceremony.

“It's now an open public secret that, as  the Chairperson of the Organ, President Hichilema appointed Dr Nevers Mumba in bad faith to head the SADC Election Observation Mission [SEOM] which made an outrageous Preliminary Statement on Zimbabwe's 2023 harmonised general election which is full of untested hearsay, has an inconclusive conclusion, which is not supported by the statement's hearsay narrative, and makes recommendations that are not in any way related to its scurrilous conclusion,” continued Professor Moyo, finally getting to the meat of his bitterness against President Hichilema.

Professor Jonathan Moyo has been fuming and frothing about the SEOM’s report ever since its release. The report state obvious things like the failure by ZEC to produce something even as basic as a verified voters’ roll, the widespread intimidation, etc.

SADC had known about all these flaws and illegalities all along and hence the reason why the regional body wanted Zimbabwe’s 2013 elections postponed until the reforms addressing these concerns were implemented. Sadly, Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC leaders ignored the warning and participated in the 2013 elections with no reforms.

Zanu PF went on to rig the 2013 elections and SADC, in sheer despair, went on to grant the vote rigging Zanu PF political legitimacy.

Initially, Tsvangirai and company vowed they would not participate in future elections without first implementing the reforms. Greed got the better of them and they participated in the 2018 elections with not even a token reform in place. SADC, once again turned a blind eye to all the glaring flaws and illegalities and granted Zanu PF legitimacy.

Nelson Chamisa and his CCC friend and the rest of the opposition decided to participate in these 2023 elections knowing fully well the process is flawed, “so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw”, as David Coltart, CCC Treasurer General and soon to be crowned Mayor of Bulawayo, admitted in his book. They also knew participating would give Zanu PF legitimacy. And still they soldiered on for the same reasons they had failed to implement even one reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU - greed and breath-taking incompetence.

Professor Jonathan Moyo, President Mnangagwa and many in the SADC region including Chamisa and his CCC friends, expected Dr Nevers Mumba and his fellow SEOM members to follow the now well trodden path of seeing no evil, hearing no evil and saying no evil and thus endorse the 2023 as “substantially free and fair”.

SEOM condemned the elections as flawed and illegal and, per se, cannot produce a legitimate government was totally unexpected. Everyone knew the process is flawed and illegal and SEOM was supposed to ignore it!

Well the die has been cast, the gene is out of the bottle, SADC’s own election team has admitted the elections were flawed and illegal; the truth is out and it cannot be denied or put back in the bottle. Many wanted Zanu PF to continue rigging the elections and granted legitimacy regardless for their own selfish reasons.

For Zanu PF rigging the elections was the only sure way for the regime to retain its iron grip on power. After 43 years of enjoying absolute power and all the benefits that brings Mnangagwa and company are addicted to power, giving it up has become unthinkable.

For Nelson Chamisa and his MDC/CCC friends they failed to implement even one reform during the GNU. They have since given up on reforms and settled for participating in flawed elections for whatever spoils of power they can force from Zanu PF. Zanu PF has had to given up some gravy train seats to entice the opposition to participate for the sake of getting some political legitimacy.

SA’s ANC ruling party vowed to grant vote rigging Zanu PF political legitimacy to ensure there is no regime change in Zimbabwe. ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula, like Professor Jonathan Moyo have accused President Hichilema and those seeking free, fair and credible elections in Zimbabwe of seeking regime change for the purpose of removing Zanu PF and all liberation war founded party from office. Of course this is nonsense.

The idea that Zanu PF in Zimbabwe or ANC in SA, etc. have a divine right to rig elections to guarantee their stay in right is what is “wholly absurd and preposterous”! The people of Zimbabwe’s right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country is the supreme right here that must never ever be compromised or curtailed.

The right thing for President Hichilema, the rest of the SADC leaders and Zimbabwe’s own corrupt and incompetent opposition to do is stand up for the rule of law and the common people’s right to free and fair elections and refuse to attend Mnangagwa’s inauguration. Even if President Hichilema and a few others leaders attend the ceremony, the Mnangagwa presidency is still illegitimate!

Zimbabwe is a failed state, after 43 years of being stuck with this corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical Zanu PF regime complete with its entourage of corrupt and utterly useless opposition parties, the country is desperate for a way out of this hell-hole. Stopping Zanu PF rigging the elections is the key to getting out of this hell.

Dr Mumba’s report has forced SADC to face up the reality that Zanu PF has stayed in power these last 43 years by rigging elections. Denying Zanu PF legitimacy following the rigged 23 August elections will force Zimbabwe into a new GNU so the democratic reforms, which should have been implemented in the 2008 to 2013 GNU, can finally be implemented.

How can implementing the reforms to guarantee free, fair and credible  and thus cure ourselves of the curse of rigged elections and bad governance be a bad thing? Indeed, defending Dr Nevers Mumba’s SEOM report is the only thing worth dying for right now!
