The UN and the EU have both dismissed Tsvangirai’s request for them to reject the Zimbabwean Ambassadors to these bodies on the grounds that Mugabe appointed them without consulting him, as PM. It was a stupid request and it would have been really stupid of the UN and EU to even consider it!
Tsvangirai had hoped to cause a “constitutional crisis” with this move; he is the one with egg on his face!
@Themba Khumalo and Peter Win
Tsvangirai has made many blunders in the past, very costly blunders at that! Yes Khumalo you are right to ask; “Is this man FIT to run a country?”
Peter Win you too are right to comment, “There might be doubt as to whether Tsvangirai is fit to be a P.M. - but there's certainly no doubt that Mad Bob should have been kicked out of the country a long time ago!”
As a Zimbabwean (and I believe this is an issue every Zimbabwean out there must now serious consider) I have to ask myself whether Tsvangirai is fit to kick Mugabe out of office. There have been countless opportunities for him to do so in the past notably after the sham 2008 elections when the dictator was on the hook. It was blundering Tsvangirai who got him off the hook.
Much as I would like to see all Mugabe and his cronies looted from the nation given back to the people and the dictator and all his henchmen in the dock for the murder of tens of the thousands of innocent Zimbabweans; I know none of these things will ever happen as long as blundering idiots like Tsvangirai are tasked to carry out this task. Mugabe is a canning fox; too canning for a slow thinking toad like Tsvangirai!

Mariko, lets face it; Mariko how many Zimbabweans out there have stopped to think what their leaders, not just Tsvangirai but Mugabe and every other leader out there; are doing? The sad truth is a miserable few. So it is easy to see why dictators like Mugabe have been able loot and murder at will. And blunders like Tsvangirai to do nothing when there is so much to be done or, the few times he has actually done something, do the wrong thing! It took at least two decades for the nation to finally see Mugabe for the tyrant he is and by then the fox had dug in and so it has taken now over a decade to flash him out. Tsvangirai has already committed some really shocking and costly blunders in his ten years in politics and still many people fail to see him for the blunder he is.
We have clearly learnt nothing from the past and, of course, those who learn nothing from history are destined to make the same mistake over and over again. There is one good reason why we must learn from the past; it is the price we have paid for – the tragic human suffering and the loss of human lives!
@ Dread Dread6
You see, that is exactly what makes you a moron; what do you mean, “if pressed on the label 'murderous' you will pull a Tsvangirai and refer us all to the post 1980 disturbances in Matebeland pitting ZIPRA and ZANLA. Note that Zimbabwe is not unique in such challenges. Zimbabweans only need to look at SA post 1994 - ANC vs Inkatha and of course the third force!” Over 20 000 innocent human beings were murdered and you dismiss all this so casually!
By the way Mugabe’s murderous ways did not stop after the 1980s. It has continued to this day. In the 2008 elections over 500 innocent Zimbabweans were murdered and hundreds of thousands raped and terrorised. Mugabe did not demobilise his thugs; they still out terrorising ordinary Zimbabweans with the active backing of the CIO, Police and the Army. How can those sworn to up hold the rule of law now be the ones spearheading the lawlessness?!
@ Fungayi
“Personally I would rather have a 'dictator' who empowers his people for a leader than a psuedo democrat who gives away the family silver and tell us to rejoice in the ability to vote people in and out of power with nothing to our names!” Only a sick person like you Fungayi would say that!
It is the dictator who has not just sold the family silver but killed the goose that laid the golden egg. Mugabe and his cronies took over the white owned farms only to loot them. Agriculture was the main engine driving Zimbabwe’s economy; destroy it and the Zimbabwe economy went into total melt down. Zimbabwe basic services like education and health have collapsed and unemployment has been 80% plus for the last ten years. A few weeks ago Zim Glass, Zim Alloys and Kariba Batteries closed, in Gweru alone, throwing even more people out of work. Only a dictator and his cronies would consider this empowerment!
You got a “plot” and so did a few cronies but at the cost of throwing millions into abject poverty!
The worst thing is Mugabe has repeatedly denied the people of Zimbabwe their basic right to judge his performance in office, murdering tens of thousands in the process. The dictator’s his cronies days are numbered; the people of Zimbabwe are determined to end his rule and they will!
@Dora Makute
You are right; I certainly never followed Tsvangirai because of his faith or political ideology because “MDC has got none”. Frankly I do not know of anyone else who thought Tsvangirai had any of these qualities. Forget the rhetoric of bringing democratic change; everyone who is in the know, realised this was just that – political rhetoric.
To be fair Mugabe has neither faith nor ideology too. His promise of freedom and economic posterity for masses – gutsa ruzhinji – too was cheap politicking. Mugabe is a cold hearted mercenary who saw the opportunity to enrich himself and his cronies at the public expense. And what better way than by being the champion of an obvious cause – black freedom and independence. As soon as he had his foot in power he was fighting to keep the same oppressive laws and practices that the white colonialists had enacted. He has turned out to be even more ruthless and blood thirty than the whites. He has murdered more blacks in 30 years in power than the whites did in 80 years of colonial rule!
The many Zimbabweans like you Dora who have followed Mugabe have done so because he gave you a cut of the loot. For the overwhelming majority of Zimbabwe the last thirty years have been hell-on-earth! In 2008 the electorate vote for Tsvangirai in droves; they are that desperate for change they happily voted for an idiot. And it is not over yet; they will do so again next year. Mugabe will have to deploy his murderous thugs to stop them and even then he still can not be sure. That says a lot about what the people think of the dictator!
@ Dread Dread 6
Mugabe’s thirty years of gross mismanagement rampant corruption and without doubt the most wasteful state sponsored looting has left millions of Zimbabweans in abject poverty. He has murdered over 20 000 for no other reason than for the love of power. But none of these things have ever registered in your pea-size brain Dread Dread6. The dictator has seized land from a few white farms – you do not care what he did with the farms or the dare economic consequences of this looting – and that is all you care about!
You have no problem listing all the evil things the white colonialists did thirty years ago but do not even notice the evil Mugabe is committing today. The whites stopped ruling Zimbabwe thirty years ago and what Mugabe is doing is affecting people’s lives today and in the future. But again, I do not expect you to understand that - you being a moron and all that!
