Tsvangirai's "Main Actor" foot-in-mouth-disease guff!

Tsvangirai in yet another “foot in the mouth disease” guff as one commentator called it!

“Ask yourself, had it been me who died and she had survived, what would have happened?,” Tsvangirai was quoted as saying by the NewsDay.

“One of the fundamental things is that the main actor doesn’t die if the film is still on.”

Veteran journalist and feminist Grace Mutandwa, reacting on Facebook, said: “After reading that, I just thought WOW! Is he suggesting that Susan was a ‘bit’ actress so it was okay because the main actor was still there, the show would go on?

“He really needs real advisers not just hangers-on who tell him what he wants to hear. Currying favour got us to where we are now – stuck in IMPUNITY SQUARE.”  Well Grace got that one right! If the nation does not wake up and realize where Tsvangirai is taking us with this yes vote than we will all pay very dearly for this folly.

If people vote yes in the referendum then we will go into the elections - a repeat of the 2008 violence!

Police commissioner General Augustine Chihuri told the top brass in the ZRP to ensure Zanu-PF wins the upcoming elections.

In his speech, a copy of which the M&G has seen, Chihuri did not mince his words, saying there are "surrogates of the imperialists that should never rule this country. If you are not go-ing to support Zanu-PF, you are not fit to be wearing the uniform and its decorated medals.

"The time to leave is now, if you are not going to toe the line," he said.

This is just another piece of evident on a growing mountain of evidence that the reforms should have been implemented BEFORE elections are held and the only way to stop the blood bath that is coming is to vote NO in the referendum. PM Tsvangirai wants to give the impression that he is in control and knows what he is doing but the truth is he is just a confused somebody who will lead the nation into a deadly Zanu PF trap!

One of the Zimbabweans negotiators who met SA team visiting to check on progress on the holding of referendum and elections said the SA were concerned about the violence. “They were gravely concerned about the renewed crackdown on civil society organisations and political violence,” the negotiator said.
This is the irony of the Zimbabwe situation; it seems every else can see the upcoming dangerous political storm, everyone that is except the Zimbabwe’s MDC leaders and povo. The former are busy cheering the povo along and they in turn are blindly following!

The Zimbabwe economy shrunk by a staggering 84% in the six year period 2002 to 2008 a position from which it has not recovered. Unemployment is still seating at 80% plus. And yet you compare it to Europe as if the two are in the same league!
The President of the USA is the son of a white mother and black father that is how far for-ward the blacks in America have gone. Hundreds of fellow Zimbabweans have been mur-dered just because they dare exercise their right to have a meaningful say in the governance of the country and you condone this; that is far backwards this Mugabe dictatorship has dragged the nation!
Those who will not live by the law must die by the law before they destroy the law and the whole nation. Mugabe and all his thugs have chosen not to live by the law they must be ar-rested, tried and punished by the law. Yes, you Chimbwido, you have your appointment with the hangman; I would hate to see you miss it! I have made the restoration of the rule of law and having those who do not want to live by the law punished, my life time work!

@ Dumbu

Dumbu you are not a bird but a human being; whilst the former can soar into the clouds, your feet on the ground and keep your hands below the level of your head; get real!

The Police play a key role in the whole election process and their behaviour will determine whether or not there will be violence, for example. If the Police are vowed to ensure a Mugabe victory then they will abuse their statutory powers to harass and arrest Zanu PF critics whilst allowing Zanu PF thugs a free hand to do as they please. This is already happening on the ground.

It is not only the Police who are behaving in this partisan way, the Army, the Judiciary, ZEC, etc. The same system that was responsible for the wanton violence in 2008 is still here today. We are going to have a repeat of the 2008 violent elections!

“Chihuri is a dying horse; let him vomit his viruses by speaking nonsense. Whether liking it or not ZANU(Party of Fools) is going to be dumped forever,” you said.
Well only a bird with its head in the clouds can say that, but even a bird will have to land sooner or later and face the reality on the ground.

The reality on the ground is Chihuri is not a dying horse and the whole Zanu PF dictatorship has the power to ride rough shod over the nation. It is foolhardy to go ahead with the election without first implementing the reforms which are designed to dismantle the dictatorship brick by brick.

Prime Minister Tsvangirai, well there is a man so drunk on power he is a permanent resident of cloud nine and your blind naivety is all the encouragement he needs, is out there right now campaigning for a yes vote in the referendum knowing fully well that is the yes vote win the day that will close the door to implementing the reforms. Tsvangirai is shepherding the nation into a deadly Zanu PF trap!

Let me reply to your points one by one.

Police are not governed by Copac but by Lancaster.

You do not understand that the Lancaster House Constitution included amendment 19 which is the GPA and it calls for democratic reforms to be implemented. Those reforms have not been implemented and therefore it is nonsense to say what the Police are doing are in accordance with the LHC.

A NO vote will be a YES vote for Lancaster i.e. the status quo.

You are right there my friend, but let me explain it to you a bit. A no vote will mean we are back to where we were back in 2008 with the LHC and its 19 amendments i.e. to the GPA. In other words we have to revisit the tasks set out in the GPA and have them properly implemented.

Police will continue doing what they are doing.

Implement the democratic reforms and you will dismantle the dictatorship brick by brick and re-store the independence of the Police, Judiciary and all the other institutions to do their statutory work properly. The Police will NOT, I repeat will NOT, continue to do what they have been doing all these years. That is why Mugabe stubbornly refused to have the reforms implemented. And it was stupid of Tsvangirai to let Mugabe get away with it and worse still drag the nation into anoth-er bloody election!

A NO vote will mean elections are held under Lancaster.

The LHC as it stands is very explicit and clear: implement the democratic reforms and write a new democratic constitution which will be approved by the people in a referendum and then hold fresh election.

Constitution requires that elections be held

Yes the LHC with the amendments calls for fresh elections but only after the reforms have been implemented and a new democratic constitution written so that the elections will be free and fair and not a repeat of the violence of 2008.

Bob will simply ignore GNU agreement and push ahead with elections under Lancaster

Mugabe cannot ignore the GPA and do as he pleases this is why he has stayed in the GNU all these last five years. A no vote will force very one to revert back to the GPA.

A yes vote will say to SADC and the world at large that the people Zimbabwe are happy with the Copac constitution as the democratic constitution they wanted, they are happy with the imple-mented reforms and last but most important of all that they are happy the Copac constitution and the implemented reforms will deliver free and fair elections – free of violence.

Once the Copac constitution is accepted and enacted then the LHC and the GPA will expire and have no authority. MDC or the people cannot appeal to SADC to apply pressure on Mugabe to implement the reforms or change anything. Since the Copac constitution has failed to create the political environment for free and fair elections, to end the dictatorship, to dismantle the dictator-ship, etc.; nothing is going to change. The nation is stuck with this weak and feeble Copac constitution and defective political system!
