Biti is seeking coalition with Mujuru on the falsehood he will "wash off the gamatox" later!

Tendai Biti is actively seeking a coalition between his MDC -Renewal with Mai Mujuru’s People First. He is so convinced this is the right move he has dismissed doing otherwise as “idiocy”.

Biti and Mujuru can talk until the cows come home the political reality is that both of them are incompetent, corrupt and sell-out; God knows they have proven this beyond all doubt already. Whilst education may cure one of incompetence, there is no known cure for being corrupt and a sell-out other than hang oneself as Judas Iscariot did.

They two should have apologized for betraying the people whilst they were in power and then resign from all public life!

They have both their political virtue on Zimbabwe's infamous political gravy train. They have since lost their seats; Biti was in the GNU and lost his seat following the rigged 2013 elections and Mai Mujuru was a senior member in Zanu PF for 34 years only to be kicked out of the party last December. They are both itching to get back on that gravy train so much so they will do or say anything.

As far as the people of Zimbabwe are concerned the single most important task this nation must accomplish is to get all, not just some water down few but ALL, the democratic reforms agreed in the 2008 Global Political Agreement, GPA, which then gave rise to the formation of the GNU, implemented.

The reforms were designed to dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship which has allowed the party to abuse state institutions like the public media, the Police, Security sectors, ZEC, etc. and rig elections. MDC failing to get even one reform implemented during the five years of the GNU and hence Zanu PF was able to blatantly rig the July 2013 elections and is set to do so again in future elections.

Although Mai Mujuru has been kicked out of the Mugabe faction of Zanu PF that is now in power, as a former Zanu PF member herself she still knows how the Zanu PF dictatorship works. If she was to contest the next elections and win then she will inherit the essential components of the Zanu PF dictatorship lock, stock and barrel!

The day Mai Mujuru and her former Zanu PF are returned back to power they would want to quickly consolidate their power base by appointing people loyal to the her in the state institutions and assure them all that it is business as usual. Her political power base is founded on the Zanu PF dictatorship and she would certainly not want that disrupted by someone implementing democratic reforms!

As for Tendai Biti and his MDC friends they have never believed they could govern Zimbabwe own their own and hence the reason the readily accepted GNU in 2008 and were not keen to implement the democratic reforms during the GNU years. MDC were quite content to have the Zanu PF dictatorship survive after the GNU provided it changed enough to allow MDC seats on the gravy train.

MDC leaders expected Zanu PF to blatantly rig the July 2013 elections but not to the extent of a landslide victory for Zanu PF!

Tendai Biti is hoping the coalition with Mai Mujuru will result in the political system MDC had hope would emerge after the 2013 elections; a Zanu PF dominated government but with a number of reserved seats for him and his MDC friends.

Many Zimbabweans have been fearful Mai Mujuru and her supporters’ strong Zanu PF corrupt and tyrannical past; a leopard does not change its spots, ever! MDC-Renewal has been quick sooth these public fears by assuring the public MDC-Renewal will “wash off the gamatox” as soon as the coalition is back in power.

The gamatox reference comes the time Mugabe was angry with Information Minister Jonathan Moyo he called him a “weevil” that was destroying Zanu PF from within. Didymus Mutasa, Mujuru loyalist, saw Moyo and his faction in Zanu PF as the greatest threat to the Mujuru faction’s bid to position her to take over power from Mugabe. So Mutasa seized the chance to get rid of the competition and offered to bring the gamatox insecticide use to kill weevil.

Within six months it was Minister Moyo and his faction that successfully ousted the Mujuru faction out of the party. So it Mutasa himself who ended up covered to his eyes in the gamatox!

So for the sake of winning the next elections MDC –Renewal are willing to put aside democratic reforms and work to Zanu PF modus operandi thus accepted to be contaminated with the gamatox, as it were. The day after the coalition has won the elections MDC –Renewal will want the democratic reforms implemented or wash themselves free of the gamatox.

After what all what Mai Mujuru and her Zanu PF has already gone through being kicked out of the party and what they still have to go through to win back power, this lot will have no patience with some political upstart threatening their recovered political power by implementing some democratic reforms. Frankly Tendai Biti and his lot will be chaff to bit that they are back on the gravy train again they will not want to rock the boat by pushing reforms.

The bottom line is the Mujuru’s People First and Tendai Biti’s MDC-Renewal marriage of convenience will never ever implement all the democratic reforms; not before the next elections or after those elections.  This proposed coalition is a political distraction, offering the false hope of a way out when it is in fact a cul-de-sac, easy to get in but near impossible to get out.

The only way out of this political and economic mess we find ourselves in is by getting all the democratic reforms agreed in the 2008 GPA implemented. Mujuru and Biti are not offering to implement any reforms so forget them.

Mugabe’s ZimAsset plan is dead in the water; he failed to get any donors to bankroll the plan. The regime has no plan B to end the worsening economic meltdown. The regime is under increasing pressure to accept meaningful economic and political reforms design to end the corruption, lawlessness, etc. which destroyed local companies and stopped new investment. We must insist on the implementation of all the democratic reforms.

Implement all the reforms and the country the polluted political air will be cleared allowing competent politicians and political parties will emerge and flourish.

First things first, get the democratic reforms implemented and that will finally secured the right of every Zimbabwean to free, fair and credible elections plus the host of all the other basic freedoms and rights for all time. Good and competent government and economic prosperity will follow guaranteed!

@ Nomazulu

There is a contradiction in your argument Nomazulu; one the one hand you are saying Mujuru is a simple woman, too simple to be held accountable for all the corruption and tyranny that went on all round her with tragic consequences to the nation and people. You do not want her to account for what she did but still you want her to keep her looted wealth. But worst of all you want the simpleton back in power and even promoted to state president! Where is the rational in that?

Mai Mujuru knew well enough that the Zanu PF dictatorship was oppressive and had abandoned all the values of freedom, justice, human rights that the nation had fought for before independence. Even simple as she is, she definitely knew the dictatorship was wrong and I can say that with certainty because from the day the regime started attaching her she was up in arms. Indeed was not to fight white racism that she jointed in the war of liberation?

Mai Mujuru is no different from all the other liberation heroes and heroines we in Africa have seen come and go; as soon as they get in power today’s liberators swiftly become the new oppressors! We have failed to stop this because we have been slow to accept that during the struggle it is near impossible to separate the wolves from the sheep since they are all animals, the true freedom fighter from the mercenary since they all claim to fight for freedom. Look at what the wolf eats and what the sheep eat and you immediately the two are totally different creatures. Similarly the mercenary’s true colour to their own in their desire for power and influence, they will do anything to get it including denying the people all the things they had supposedly gone to war to secure!

Mai Mujuru is a self-seeking mercenary who has never cared about the rights and suffering of the masses. Yes she is a simpleton but there is such a thing as a simpleton mercenary; in other words she is still a mercenary!

There reports that China is building a military base in East Zimbabwe.

China help Zimbabwe fight the liberation war by supplying arms and other requirements but if the people of Zimbabwe have repaid that debt they have repaid it a thousand fold and yet the Chinese keep milking the country. When we finally have regime change in Zimbabwe the country's relationship with China must be reviewed with every intention of ending it!

@ Dr Wamambo

Zimbabwe is in a serious political and economic mess with millions now out of work and many of them living in abject poverty. We have to find a way, a realistic way out of this mess. Yes, this is all I ever talk about, I do not deny that for a minute; what is there else to talk about?

We are in this mess because people like you delude yourself into thinking if we ignore the problems, they will all disappear. For 35 years the problems have got worse and not better. No it is you my dear friend, who needs to wake up and smell the humus!

@ Mujombo

They are free citizens just like Mugabe is a free citizen but as long these people hold or aspire to hold public office then they be put under the Wilbert Mukori microscope and thoroughly scrutinized. If any of them do not like to be so scrutinized then they know what to do - get the hell out of public life! That is fair and I cannot be more fairer than that.

"If you got issues with them you have every right to vote for who ever you so choose," you are right there. And that is exactly what I am doing; I do not wait for the one day in five years to have a say or hold those in office to account; I do it 24/7 for five years.

Mujuru and Biti betrayed the people of Zimbabwe, that is a big issue and I am here to make sure every Zimbabwean know how these two sold-out and, worse still, plan to sell-out again if elected back on the gravy train. I am here to ensure the gravy train is derailed for good by making sure all the democratic reforms are implemented.

Mark my words and mark them well; all the democratic reforms will be implemented and the people of Zimbabwe will have free, fair and credible elections. The people of Zimbabwe have waited for 35 years now to exercise this basic right; their wait is nearly over and I will not have some corrupt and incompetent village idiots betray the people again!

@ Sobhuza

Let me answer that with a question; whom amongst all the individuals you have named above is not an a***hole? So if they are all a***holes; it is not just me saying they are, they have proven this themselves over the years; you think I should praise at least one of them so the "populace look up to (him/her) with hope"!

I say it is that attitude of allowing ourselves to pin our holes and dreams on an a****hole like Mugabe or Tsvangirai that has landed us in this mess. And, which is worse, we will never get out of this mess as long as we continue to place our hopes on corrupt and incompetent a***holes like Mujuru and Biti who have proven already that they are a***holes.

A healthy and functioning democracy demands a diligent and informed how will hold the leaders to account not naïve, useless and lazy a***holes who will elect the same corrupt and incompetent village idiot leader again and again and again.

@ Marubber

In a country is which every city, town and growth point has had endless trouble with getting something as basic as clean water in this day and age; I would say there is definitely something wrong. You may think you are doing fine but let me tell you are mentally dead! Of course many people are dying already because in a country that cannot have clean running water you can be certain a hell lot of other things like health services have too collapsed.

You will never notice any of these problems; you will continue in your merry way blissfully oblivious of the rot and decay all round you. It is a "blessing" to be stupid; you are not aware of any-thing round you! KKKKKKKKKKKK that is a fool laughing as he continues to sink into the abyss! Zimbabwe has more than its fair share of morons, of that I am now sure!

@ Chokwadi

Telling you Biti and Mujuru are corrupt and incompetent sell-out is telling you the truth just be-cause you do not want to hear the truth because it also reflects badly on you - all these years you have been singing the praises of corrupt and incompetent idiots. Well that is you problem my friend.

Tell the nation they must never ever elect corrupt and incompetent village idiots is exactly what the people of Zimbabwe need to hear right now. If they heed my advice and elect competent leaders then I will be pleased, job well done. If they decide to elected the same village idiots who sold them last time and the whole nation sink even deeper into economic and political despair then I can say I did my best to warn the nation.

Was it not Jesus himself who said "I am sending you out as sheep amongst wolves. You must be as shrewd as snakes and as gentle as doves."

Electing the same corrupt, incompetent and sell-out individuals again and again shows that you are just a lazy sloth who will not use the God given human intellect because you brain has atrophied through generation of mind numbing slumber!

You asking me to teach you a lesson well here is my lesson: stop sticking your head into idiots like Tsvangirai’s backside and think for yourself for a change!

@ Takura

The willingness of the MDC factions to join forces with Joice Mujuru who is the embodiment of corruption and tyranny, she is Zanu PF in all but name shows that none of the MDC leaders have ever been serious about implementing the democratic reforms. All MDC leaders are after is a chance to get back on the gravy train and they will once again, as they did throughout the GNU, kick democratic reforms into the tall grass.

“But on the basis of current events, it will be tremendously hard work for democratic success to be realized,” you said.

We should not delude ourselves; it will be impossible for democracy to emerge out of the present setting. Just as it is not possible to get a silk purse from a sower’s ear so too with democratic change; a corrupt and tyrannical party whose own existence is totally dependent of maintaining the corrupt and tyrannical system of government cannot be trusted to implement the democratic reforms that will mark its demise!

Yes Mai Mujuru has public apologized for “Zanu PF’s past failures” but to conclude from that alone that she was not willing to destroy Zanu PF root and branch, especially if it is the old Zanu PF and its dirty politics that propels her back into politics and secures the top job for her. She will be moving quickly to re-establish the old Zanu PF hegemony by appointing party loyalists in all state institutions and rewarding those who helped her get back into power. Implementing the democratic reforms designed to erode her own power base will be the last thing on her mind!

@ Zvazviri

Yes MDC-T must have some of the most naive supporters in the whole world. They have all been parroting CHINJA! CHINJA! CHANGE! CHANGE! but they did not have a clue what chang-es they wanted.

They have now taken up "No Reform! No Election!" slogan. They have no clue what those re-forms are because if they did then they would also know that it was their MDC leaders who failed to implement even one reform during the GNU.

Yes MDC-T has the "numbers", at least they did until July 2013, but as we saw in those elections a naive and gullible electorate led by village idiots will never ever win elections.

If there was a lesson MDC and its supporters should have learned on 31 July 2013 it is that quantity with no quality counts for nothing! But clearly, you lot have learnt nothing!

“When we got our independence we celebrated thinking we were going to be free, but now we are leaving in fear and oppression,” said Bhasikiti.
“This must stop because our people do not need to live in fear, this must stop.”
Now the purge in Zanu PF has started in earnest Mugabe will have to get used to the re-ality of being told some home truths by those he kicked out of the party. If he thought they were going roll over and allow him to abuse them as he has abused the populace, he has something else coming. He started the fight but he can be sure he will not have all his way from now on.
The infighting in Zanu PF has only just began it is set to get a lot worse! Of course Bhasikiti is right Zimbabweans have lived in fear of a corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF. Last time Mugabe told Bhasikiti he was in the “wrong basket” before kicking out of the party for belonging to the Mujuru faction. By telling Mugabe some home truths about his tyrannical regime Bhasikiti has made sure he and not Mugabe occupies the moral high ground; it is Bhasikiti who is in the “right basket” this time!

Zimbabwe Light said...

Bhasikiti has hired the leader of the fragmenting opposition MDC Renewal Team to challenge Mugabe and Zanu PF over his expulsion from the ruling party.

Mugabe declared the infighting in Zanu PF by firing Mai Mujuru and a number of senior party leaders last December. He started the war and now he will have to do is sit and see what happens next. Mugabe is a control freak but the infighting in the party is something even he has no control over! Those he fired out of the party are claiming the moral high ground and he is left to defend the indefensible.

Poor Mugabe the economy is in total meltdown, his own party is imploding and he is desperately trying to hold on to power but cannot keep his eyes open for more than a few minutes!

@m Kanjau

A vote turnout of less than 5% is not exactly what anyone would consider a ringing endorsement of Zanu PF's continues rule! Zanu PF is grateful for whatever votes they get regardless where they came from. The party is grateful to Tsvangirai for a win without having to resort to the dirty tactics of 2013 or the wanton violence of 2008!

Zimbabwe Light said...

The people of Zimbabwe were disappointed at how easily Zanu PF had once rigged the July 2013 elections after Tsvangirai and MDC had repeatedly assured them that the elections would be free and fair. MDC was warned the elections would not be free and fair because MDC had not implemented the reforms.

If Tsvangirai and MDC had an shred of honour then they would admit they fcuked up by failing to get even one reform implemented. It is common knowledge that they failed to get even one reform implemented because Mugabe bribed them to kick the reforms into the tall grass.

After seeing how easily Zanu PF rigged the last elections it is not surprising that most people have given up voting. It is cheap grandstanding by MDC to claim the poor voter turnout was because the people were listening to the party's call to boycott the vote. Whatever next; MDC claiming credit for the sun rising tomorrow?!

@ Ncube

The answer to your question is Zimbabweans are poor because they have a corrupt and tyrannical ruling party and an equally corrupt and incompetent opposition parties! Although the latter have already proven to be utterly useless, they are still hanging on hoping they will be elected back on the gravy train!
