"Zanu PF is finished!" boast Gutu, ignoring warnings of vote rigging - you ARE finished.

"There is no doubt that the elections are going to take place in the first half of next year. Time is, therefore, of essence if we are going to put in place mechanisms that will help us win the election," the ruling party's secretary for administration, Ignatius Chombo told officials at a one-day workshop on voter education and voter registration held at their headquarters last weekend.

"And for us as Zanu-PF, there is no other option, but to win this election by a margin that leaves no doubt that we are the dominant political party in this country."

With not even one democratic reform in place there is nothing to stop Zanu PF rigging next year’s elections. Nothing! As for whether the regime hold the election in the first half of next year or latter; it is all academic. Zimbabwe could have had free and fair elections if the reforms had been implemented, voter registration started promptly soon after the last elections, etc. On the other hand, Zimbabwe will still fail to release a verifiable voters’ roll, etc. even if elections are held late next year.

"They think they are taking the opposition by surprise but then, they're fooling themselves,” was the wishful response from MDC-T spokesman, Obert Gutu.

"The MDC Alliance is now on board and we are on a roll. In fact, more opposition political parties will very soon be coming on board. Zanu-PF is finished; they are like a dead man walking," Gutu told the Daily News.

Everyone who is anyone agrees that Zanu PF rigged the July 2013 elections. Tsvangirai and his MDC friends were warned by SADC leaders not to contest the elections with no reforms because Zanu PF was set to rig the vote.

“If you go into elections next month, you are going to lose; the elections are done!” SADC leaders warned MDC leaders in June 2013; according to Dr Ibbo Mandaza, who was there.

It was only after Zanu PF had rigged the elections that Tsvangirai & co. acknowledged their folly and, to make amends, vowed not to contest any future elections until the reforms are implemented. Mugabe knew the opposition were just paying lip-service to boycotting elections; the tyrant knew MDC sold-out on implementing reforms during the GNU and he knew they would do so again.

When Zanu PF refused to implement even one token democratic reforms, it was a rea killer-punch to Tsvangirai and friends given their “No reform. No election!” party resolution. But by offering a few gravy train seats to any opposition candidates who contest the elections regardless the lack of reforms, Mugabe knew Tsvangirai and friends will contest the elections.

Everyone in the know knows that without reforms Zanu PF will rig next year’s elections with or without an opposition grand coalition.

"We are also acutely aware of the fact that this vapid and rabid regime is arm-twisting the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) so that they help the regime to rig the election,” continued Obert Gutu.

"We have gathered intelligence to the effect that the Zanu-PF regime might actually want to abandon the BVR (biometric voter registration) process."

How naïve can one be! Unreformed ZEC is in all but name a department of Zanu PF committed, above all, to ensure there is no regime change.

Zanu PF has dragged the process of buying the BVR kits and now with less than a year to voting day, the voter registration has not even started. There is no doubt the regime has no intention of releasing a verifiable voters’ roll for next year’s elections. The regime stubbornly refused to release a verifiable voters’ roll at least one month before voting day as is required by law and has refuse to do so to this day. The voters’ roll was the smoking gun to many Zanu PF vote rigging activities in the 2013 elections. History is set to repeat itself.

“If we go into elections next year, we are going to lose; the elections are done!” to paraphrase SADC leaders’ June 2013 warning.

Ever since the country attained her independence Zanu PF has rigged all the past elections. After 37 years of rigged elections it is insane to contest the flawed elections and expect a different result. There is no excuse for anyone to participate in any way in next year’s flawed elections; by participating people give the process the modicum of credibility.

Both Zanu PF and MDC, Baal’s army of priests, are determined to see next year’s election go ahead with no reforms. The challenge is to make sure every Zimbabweans knows that the elections will, once again, be rigged and they should have nothing to do with the process other than continue their demand for reforms to be implemented first.

SADC leaders are certain to reject next year’s flawed elections as a shame and loud demands for reforms before the elections will confirm to all the ordinary people did not approve of the illegal elections.

If the elections go ahead with no reforms in place and the elections are rigged; the political and economic consequences of such an outcome will be disastrous for the nation. This time we will not leave one single stone unturned in seeking out those who dragged the nation into these flawed elections; the prophet Elijah had Baal priests killed, we must make sure their political careers is terminated.

“Zanu PF is finished!” boasted Obert Gutu, ignoring the warning of yet another rigged election. Well, if Zanu PF is NOT finished, you and your opposition friends ARE finished!

@ Bulawayo 24

"Analysts and a large cross-section of Zimbabweans have consistently said a united opposition, contesting as a single bloc in next year's elections, has a chance of ending Mugabe and Zanu-PF's political dominance," you said.

As long as there are no reforms in place and Zanu PF has a licence to rig the vote the party will rig and win the elections, with or without a viable opposition coalition. The coalition has just become a feeble excuse for the opposition to justify ignoring SADC's advice and their own "No reform. No election!" party resolutions!

SADC’s advice is still true and even more valid today than it was in 2013. MDC leaders must know that by once again electing to contest flawed elections they are once again making a totally unnecessary gamble with the nation’s future.
“We have come up with our own new strategies which are smarter that we are going to use in wiring and wining the elections,” Gutu told New Zimbabwe.
“I think you are now hearing us talking about the wire trajectory, which is our new strategy, because obviously we are budgeting for the worst case scenario where the regime is not going to budge because very little in terms of reforms has been done and we will be fools to think that Zanu PF is going to give in.”

Well if your new “wire trajectory strategies” fail to stop Zanu PF rigging next year’s elections the wire will be used to hang you Gutu and your MDC friends!

Voter registration will start 4 September and end 30 th November, Mudede has announced.
The regime has dragged its feet over the voter registration and now it is going to register 7 million (according to ZEC) in three months. Zanu PF is renowned for delaying things and then go through them at a breaking neck speed, deliberately mudding the waters, so there is no time to check what is happening. There is no doubt the regime is up to its usual dirty tricks again here.

Zanu PF knows exactly what it is doing and it has this election in the bag already and is now going through the motions to fool the naive and gullible. By participating we will only be giving the process the modicum of credibility. People must not both to register to vote because if the regime really want us to register it would have started the exercise a long time ago.

Zanu PF is “finished” because MDC have abandoned they calls for reforms and come up with a new strategy called “wire trajectory”.

After spending the last four years swearing that MDC will force Zanu PF “kicking and screaming”, according to Douglas Mwonzora, to implement reforms and all the Hoo-Haa with NERA and ZINERA; it has finally dawned on MDC that no reforms will ever be implemented.

Do not even ask what is going to happen to “No reform, no elections!” Tsvangirai & co. are incapable of keeping any pledge even when it was the most sensible one the party has ever made.

With not even one reform in place, the road is clear for Zanu PF to blatantly rig next year’s elections. “The elections are done!” I agree 100% and it will be sheer folly for Zimbabweans to have anything to do with such a sham election!

"Only fools will wait for poll reforms!" says Gutu.

No, my idiotic friend, only a first-class fool like you will contest elections they know and have been warned repeatedly that they will be rigged, because there are no reforms to stop the rigging, time and time again and expect a different result!

“We have come up with our own new strategies which are smarter that we are going to use in wiring and wining the elections,” said Gutu.

What matters here is that MDC is going into next year's election with not even one reform in place. With no reforms, the road is clear for Zanu PF to blatantly rig the elections. The elections are done! It is sheer folly for any Zimbabwean to have anything to do with such a shamelessly undemocratic process!

I do not get it! Are these Heal Zimbabwe people telling the nation that we do not need to implement any democratic reforms now that they have launched their 13MillionVoicesforPeace?

Are we now, to believe next year's elections are going to be free, fair and credible?

We should be focused on demanding the implementation of democratic reforms to stop the vote rigging and culture of political violence once and once for all. Instead, ee are wasting time and treasure on playing football and pretend that we solve all our political problems.

If next year's elections are rigged, which is evidently going to happen, someone must investigate the true motive behind Heal Zimbabwe's good-for-nothing do-gooders, find out who is funding their time-wasting distraction, etc.

Heal Zimbabwe is not helping the nation get out of the hell-hole all they are doing is offer our people one sugar coated placebo, at best, after another when we should be taking the real medicine, bitter as it might be.

@ David Barber

“My fear is that, unless they are a genuinely new opposition force in Africa, they will simply follow the path of every other new government in Africa which – with only a tiny number of exceptions – has so far been as corrupt and repressive as the government it replaced, sometimes better, sometimes worse. But no one will know until they are actually in power what their real ambitions are, except of course the leaders of MDC and the coalition,” you said.

Give me a break! We both know Tsvangirai and company have been in power in one form or other these last 17 years, the people of Zimbabwe risked life and limb to get them there. They have failed to bring about even one democratic change even when they had the golden opportunity to do so during the GNU.

We would not still be in this political and economic hell-hole if MDC leaders had implemented the democratic reforms designed to stop Zanu PF rigging elections. They had five years to implement the reforms and failed to get even one reform implemented. Not one!

MDC leaders were warned not to contest the 2013 elections with no reforms in place; they ignored the warning for selfish reasons as David Coltart confessed in his book.

“The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition was that both MDCs couldn’t now do the obvious – withdraw from the elections,” explained Senator Coltart.

“The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility.”

MDC have now admitted that Zanu PF is not going to implement any reforms before next year’s elections and yet they are still going to contest the flawed elections.

Obert Gutu, MDC-T spokesman, said the party had devised a new “wire trajectory” strategy. The truth is the new strategy, whatever it is we should not be bothered to ask, it will not stop the vote rigging of that we can be certain. In other words the new strategy is just the latest feeble MDC excuse for contesting flawed elections.

Tsvangirai & co. are corrupt and incompetent, they sold-out the nation during the GNU by failing to get even one reform implemented and they are selling-out the nation right now by dragging us into a flawed electoral process. We do not need to give these sell-outs another chance in office to know they are a curse to the nation, we know that already.
