If Mutendi cannot stand the political heat of telling the truth of rigged election, get out of the kitchen W Mukori

“If you see a frog hoping in the midday heat, you can be certain something is amiss!” so goes the adage.
Zimbabwe’s economic situation is getting worse and worse. Unemployment still 90% plus; 3/4 of the population now living on US$40 per month or less; inflation is set to reach the 1000% mark soon, if it has not done so already; doctors on their 92 day on strike and all public hospitals closed; etc. The economic meltdown has the politicians hopping in the midday heat; they know the situation is socially, politically and morally unsustainable!
“President Mnangagwa today met members of the Inter-Denominational Council of Churches at State House to discuss various issues affecting the country,” reported the Herald.
“The churches were led by the patron of the organisation Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi of the Zion Christian Church.
“They stressed that any political dialogue in the country should be premised on the acknowledgement of President Mnangagwa as the elected Head of State and Government.”
The tragedy is the church leaders are telling Mnangagwa what he wants to hear, the same regurgitated nonsense, that will do nothing to get the nation out of the economic mess we are in.
Zimbabwe is in this economic mess because the country has been stuck with a corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical Zanu PF regime for the last 39 years. The nation has failed to remove Zanu PF from office all these years because the party rigged elections.
Zimbabwe is a pariah state ruled by corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous tyrants. The country’s economy has been in trouble for donkeys years because it is notoriously difficult to do business in a pariah state. As long as Zimbabwe remains a pariah state, there will never ever be any meaningful economic recovery. NEVER EVER!
By blatantly rigging last year’s elections, failing to stamp out corruption, etc. Mnangagwa confirm that Zimbabwe is still a pariah state. International election observers like the EU, the Americans, the Commonwealth, etc. all know the elections were rigged and stated the same in their reports. Zimbabwe’s corrupt and incompetent opposition gave the elections some credibility by participating in the flawed elections knowing fully well Zanu PF was rigging the elections.
Even with all the evidence of the elections lacked “transparency, traceability and verifiability”, as EU Observer Team stated in their report; the opposition idiots still endorse the elections as free, fair and credible. Chamisa is cherry picking; he endorsed the parliamentary results but would not do the same with presidential result. He wants to be declared the winner even though, like ZEC, he too has failed to verify where he got his figures.
But even if Mutendi and his friends can get Chamisa to endorse Mnangagwa as the winner, this will not change the reality on the ground. Zimbabwe will still be a pariah state ruled by corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous thugs; Mnangagwa himself wrote that in stone by blatantly rigging last year’s elections.
Burying our heads in the sand and pretending Zimbabwe is a healthy and functional democracy, we have done this for the last 39 years, has not change the reality. Zimbabwe has remained a pariah state and will remain a pariah state until we finally cure ourselves of this curse of rigged elections.
Nehemiah Mutendi and his friends must tell Mnangagwa the truth because the truth will set him and the nation free.
The truth is last year’s elections were flawed and illegal, Zanu PF blatantly rigged the elections, and the regime (not just Mnangagwa) is illegitimate. Zanu PF be step down to allow the nation to implement the necessary democratic reforms to guarantee free, fair and credible elections.
Only by holding free, fair and credible elections will this nation finally cure itself of the curse of rigged elections and pariah state label!
If Nehemiah Mutendi and his friends cannot stand the political heat of speaking truth to power then they must get out of the kitchen!

@ Mbofana

“Yet, when their ally lost the 2008 presidential elections to the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Morgan Richard Tsvangirai, thereby unleashing a heinous and gruesome reign of terror - which witnessed the killing of hundreds of the latter's supporters - only then did SADC initiate mediation, that resulted in the formation of a Government of National Unity (GNU), with Mugabe retaining the presidency and Tsvangirai becoming prime minister,” you said.

“As has become embarrassingly customary, SADC dismally failed in undertaking its responsibilities, in accordance with its own principles.”

Your characterisation of SADC as a corrupt, incompetent regional body with a track record of sitting on its hands until it is too late is accurate and there is a mountain of history record to prove it.

However, I do not agree with your analysis of events in Zimbabwe during the last GNU. Whilst I agree that SADC could have done things differently it is still, nonetheless, true that the GNU could have delivered its main objectives of implemented the democratic reforms to ensure free, fair and credible elections. It was Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends’ fault that not even one reform was implemented in five years. Not one!

Blame SADC for our own failures is a clear sign that we are so corrupt and incompetent we not only fail to carryout our set task but, worse still, either we are so incompetent we do not even see our shortcomings even with the benefit of hindsight. Or we are just too stupid to admit we failed. Either position has not helped us move forward because SADC leaders would not want to help and then be blamed once again for our own incompetence!

Before we go to town about SADC’s incompetence, we need to have the humility and acknowledge our own serious shortcomings and, better still, do something to address them. We must make sure neither Zanu PF and MDC leaders are ever involved in mapping the way out of this mess; they landed us in this mess and it is just nonsense to think they know the way out! They don’t!

@ Tinashe

Let’s avoid elections for the next ten years and build Zimbabwe

This is just nonsense! Zimbabwe is in this economic mess not because we have been holding elections but the opposite. We are in this mess because we have failed to hold meaningful elections; rigged elections have failed to produce any meaningful political change.

If you have nothing useful to say, just shut up! We cannot keep repeating the same foolish nonsense over and over again and hope for a different result!

Of course, Nehemiah Mutendi and his fellow church leaders know that Mnangagwa rigged last year's elections and that Zanu PF has rigged elections all along but that is one truth you will never ever hear from them. It is easier to get a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than get Mutendi to tell Mnangagwa that he rigged last year's elections.

I agree, if Mutendi cannot stand the political heat of telling the truth to power then he and his his fellow buffoons masquerading as church leaders must stay out of the kitchen.

The country's economy is in the gutter, hospitals have closed and hundreds of our people are dying and these idiots still want to continue in their idiotic ways of burying their heads in the sand. This is one crime against this nation we must not allow to continue! These buffoons must be told in no uncertain terms that they must tell the truth or shut up!

It is a great tragedy that many of our churches in Zimbabwe have some of the biggest concentration of naive and braindead individuals. It is no surprise that all our corrupt and incompetent politicians have all found these churches fertile grounds for getting votes.

For the sake of getting the cheap votes even Grace Mugabe, who had never worn anything without a very expensive price tag ever since the day of her adulterous affair with the late Robert Mugabe, did not mean wearing the calico drab of Apostolic Church. She could not wait to take them off. She had fine silk undergarments, of course, still she complained of the rash from the calico!

Simpletons like Mutendi and his fellow church leaders have become Zanu PF political commissars per excellence. Whilst the nation is desperately trying to dismantle this corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship it is disconcerting that village idiots like Nehemiah Mutendi and our corrupt and incompetent opposition politicians are the ones propping up the dictatorship! Infuriating!

@ Makwirivindi

Lest you should ever forget, ZEC too failed to produce the evidence so their results can be traced and verified! Chamisa is just trying to be too clever by half by claiming to be the winner of a flawed and illegal process that he knows Zanu PF cannot prove its claim either!

The real tragedy here is that Zimbabwe is stuck in this serious economic and politic mess because the country has failed to hold free, fair and credible elections. Whilst these Zanu PF and MDC politicians are continuing with this carryon of holding flawed and illegal elections and sharing the spoils of power, the nation has continued to sink deeper and deeper into this political and economic hell-on-earth of the politicians' making.

Ordinary Zimbabweans have paid dearly and gained nothing from this circus of rigged elections. We must end this circus a.s.a.p!

@ S Chinos

Nonsense! Zimbabweans' church leaders love to hobnob with the rich and powerful even at the expense of the povo church members their profess to lead and of the truth!

Here , Dr N Mutendi is asking Chamisa to endorse Mnangagwa as the legitimate president of Zimbabwe. If Dr Mutendi had any respect for the truth, then he would never ever do such a foolish thing because Zanu PF blatantly rigged last year's elections. ZEC failed to produce a verified voters' roll although this is a legal, and common sense, requirement.

Dr Mutendi is asking the nation to accept Mnangagwa and this Zanu PF regime as the legitimate government although none of us can verify who voted for them!

We can disagree on everything else but not on truth and facts! Zanu PF rigged last year's elections and the regime is per se illegitimate: that is a historic fact and the truth. If Dr Mutendi cannot tell the truth then he should shut up. He will not be allowed to tell lies and expect to get away with it!

Report by Ms Hilal Elver, UN Special Rapporteur on right to food, covering her preliminary impressions from her visit to Zimbabwe from 18 – 28 November, 2019, has been spectacularly mangled by Zimbabwe’s polarised and often uninformed media.

We should not be surprise that this Zanu PF regime is cherry picking on what the UN report said. The report's main thrust was that there is a serious problem of starvation in Zimbabwe and that the root cause is corruption and a dysfunctional political system.
Zimbabwe needs to address the problem of rigged elections by implementing the democratic reforms and the only sure way to have this down is demanding that this illegitimate Zanu PF regime steps down.

It is a great pity that instead of the nation focusing its time and energy on getting the Zanu PF regime to step down, the nation has wasted a lot of time chasing the Chamisa's red herring - his claim to be declared the winner of the flawed and illegal presidential race!

Said Obadiah Moyo, “the status Quo is that the moratorium is not extended . All doctors who have not returned to work will have to to refer back to the court ruling… it leaves the 402 …subject to dismissal…it means they will have to go back to refer back the Status Quo, the two-day moratorium has lapsed..”
This is just a circus, these village idiots, masquerading as government leaders - Zanu PF rigged last year’s elections and therefore has no mandate to govern - are wasting billions of dollars on mismanagement and corruption and refusing to pay those doing an honest day’s work a living wage. The dismissing of the striking doctors is just a meaningless gesture because by failing to pay them and all the other honest workers a living wage government has made it impossible for the worker to continue working!
This matter has come to a head. We need this matter resolved because everyday the hospitals remain closed hundreds of people, up and down the country, are dying unnecessarily.
This Zanu PF regime rigged last year’s elections, confident it will rig economic recovery; this has proven to be a bridge too far.
The only rational way out of this mess is for Zanu PF to step down so the country can implement the democratic reforms at the heart of the country curse of rigged elections and bad governance.

Zanu PF has held this nation to ransom for the last 39 years and this must now end. From henceforth Zimbabwe will be ruled by a government elected by the people in a free, fair and credible election - this is not negotiable!
