"It is a confirmed fact that CCC is a brand new party
with no founding process, no constitution, no structures, and no elected
leadership. This fact means CCC is operating illegally, like a secret society.
It's not a dirty tactic to point this fact out," Professor Jonathan Moyo tweeted.
Of course, Professor Moyo is right, CCC cannot be a democratic
and people based political party and yet has no constitution, etc. Ever since
the party’s launch in January, six months ago, the only official CCC office bearer
is Nelson Chamisa. All the others were co-opted into the new party by Chamisa
from their old MDC Alliance position, nothing has been done to have their
position formalised.
Nelson Chamisa makes all the decisions without reference or
consulting anyone. No questions asked.
So, when Nelson Chamisa announced last week at the funeral
of the late Dr Alex Magaisa that "I'm going to lead, no doubt about that,
the heavens have endorsed me." We can be 100% certain that no one in CCC saw
this coming much less dared to ask. They all busted into spontaneous applause –
Joseph Stalin Russia style. Professor Jonathan Moyo had no such inhibitions.
“When it comes to politics, God is out of it. Unlike
religion which is divine, politics is sin; whatever your religion, you sin
alone; and so you must carry your own cross!” Professor Moyo shot straight back!
Nelson Chamisa is an autocrat who does not trust anyone else
particularly those who might take his crown from him. As for the ordinary
people, he has nothing but contempt and will never allow them to have a meaning
say in the running of the party. He will never ever allow the ordinary people
to have free, fair and credible vote – if he believed in that then he would have
implemented the democratic reforms during the 2008 to 2013 GNU when MDC had the
golden opportunity to deliver free and fair elections.
Chamisa is well aware of the political mileage to be gained
from selling CCC as a democratic party “of the people, for the people and by
the people”. His autocratic instinct tells him CCC is his baby and to be absolutely
certain he does not lose it to anyone else, all power must be in his hands and
he alone must dictate and control everything.
Chamisa would like to have his rhetorical democratic CCC
complete with the constitution, members having a free and meaningful vote, etc.
on the one hand. On the other hand, retain the present status quo in which he
continues to enjoy absolute power over the party’s affairs.
Chamisa’s excuse for refusing to have a constitution and
opening up the party to democratic participation is that he fears infiltration of
CCC by the party’s many political enemies is hogwash! It is the feeble excuse a
tyrannical autocrat, who believes himself to be infallible and knows what is
best for all at all times, would give. Of course, the position is nonsensical and
unsustainable.
CCC is just a one-man, Nelson Chamisa, band; not a democratic
and people’s party. To pretend otherwise is silly and unsustainable especially with
someone like Professor Jonathan Moyo pelleting Chamisa with the mud just to
remind him how foolish he is!
Indeed, it is for every Zimbabwean aspiring for a democratic
Zimbabwe and an end to the curse of rigged elections and tyrannical dictatorships
masquerading as democratic parties to demand that all political parties in Zimbabwe
must be democratic in everything they say and do and not just rhetoric.
It is a pity that the naïve and gullible CCC supporters have
swallowed the lie of infiltration no questions asked. They have learned nothing
from the decades of blundering from pillar to post first under Robert Mugabe and
Zanu PF then under Morgan Tsvangirai and MDC!
Those who will not learn from their past mistakes will be
forced to relive the same mistake over and over again until the learn! After 42
years of rigged elections in this day and age, 2 500 years after the Greeks gave
mankind democracy, we have yet to learn what constitute free, fair and credible
elections! We have yet to distinguish a democratic people’s party from a one-man
autocracy!
CCC is just a one-man autocracy masquerading as people’s democratic
party. Of course, “it is not a dirty tactic to point out this fact!”.

“Charity begins at home, if Chamisa rose to party leadership thru an unconstitutional coup, and has now done away with the constitution altogether, how can we expect him to respect the Zimbabwean Constitution in the event of him becoming president;
The Oxford dictionary defines a constitution as “a body of fundamental principles or established precedents according to which a state or other organization is acknowledged to be governed” - even burial societies have constitutions for godsake.”
The real tragedy is that many Zimbabweans are so naïve and gullible they believe the lie CCC is a people’s party and being denied a meaningful say is for their benefit. It is shocking just how naïve and gullible some people are!
Even if Zimbabwe was to be give democracy as a gift in the morning by noon the same day it will be a thriving dictatorship!
@ Bionic Vusa
“They have literally turned Chamisa into a god, their real party name is Chamisa Chete Chete (self explanatory), the logo is his face (a tragedy in the making), the party constitution is in his head (even though he’s not the smartest man in that party), even Mugabe was never this powerful at Zanu pf.”
The people are desperate to end the dictatorship, it is understandable after 42 years of tyrannical rule and with the economy in the gutter. You would think the people will be extra, extra careful to make sure they finally cure themselves of the cursed dictatorship. It is really shocking that all they’re doing is swapping one dictatorship for another!
We call for the coordination between our national broadcast Zimbabwe broadcasting corporation to work and give airplay to social media platforms so that the voices of the Varakashi are heard", he said.
Sibanda further advised people to stay out of violence as elections are close by.
"Do not carry weapons against each other, people move forward when you address their need with out force".
Jabulani Sibanda was notorious for his ruthlessness and brutality especially during the 2008 Operation “Mavhotera papi!” (Whom did you vote for!) in which Zanu PF set out to punish the people of Zimbabwe for daring to reject the party during the March 2008 vote.
Zanu PF is stepping up its use of violence in the 2023 elections as the only sure way for the party to remain in power. Sibanda was invited to speak to this gathering to galvanize the war veterans and the party youths for the wanton violence ahead!
“People move forward when you address their need without force!" Yeah right! A snake speaking with a forked tongue! Of course, he means the exact opposite; people move forward with brute force!
Addressing ZANU PF Mashonaland West delegates attending a provincial coordinating committee (PCC) meeting held at Mazvikadei Resort over the weekend, Ziyambi said:
“We, as the governing party, will lead the delimitation process.
“You cannot say that you are ruling and do things that result in you getting out of power.
There is no political party that boots itself out of power.
“As ZANU PF, we must do things that we are all agreeable to as we come up with electoral boundaries.
“We will have another meeting to discuss how the delimitation process is going to be conducted.”
Zanu PF is blatantly rigging these elections and is even gloating about the rigging! The party knows two things:
1) That there is absolutely nothing MDC/CCC can do to stop them rigging. MDC had many golden opportunities to implement reforms during the GNU, they wasted them all. Mugabe bribed them with the trappings of high office and the rest is history, as they say.
2) Zanu PF knows that MDC/CCC will participate in these elections regardless how flawed and illegal the process got for the same reasons MDC failed to implement even one reform during the GNU – incompetence and greed.
“Strong minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, weak minds discuss people,” said the Greek Philosopher Socrates.
The feeble-minded Zimbabweans’ political discourse has never risen about discussing personalities. In the middle of the November 2017 military coup it was child’s play for Mnangagwa and his fellow coup plotters to mobilize the Zimbabwe public to come out in support of the coup. The people were focused on “Mugabe must go!” they failed to see the full picture. Mugabe was the head of the dictatorship; removing him and a few around him would accomplish very little as long as the dictatorship itself remain untouched.
Mugabe did go but only to be replace with another dictator! And so, all the euphoria of hundreds of thousands of Zimbabweans who came out on the street in support of the coup was all for nothing!
Sadly, Zimbabweans have clearly learned nothing from the folly of November 2017 they would be the ones demanding that Chamisa must have a constitution, party structures, etc. and demonstrate CCC’s commitment to democracy and not just pay lip service. Without a constitution, etc. CCC will be no different from the de facto one-party dictatorship, Zanu PF.
Indeed, Chamisa is already exercising his dictatorial powers in that it is his decision to participate in these elections regardless of all the evidence Zanu PF is blatantly rigging the process. He is as keen as mustard to be the leader of Zimbabwe’s main opposition party and will never allow any meaning discussion by CCC members on the matter. Never!
It is not surprising that many Zimbabweans have accepted the lie that making CCC a truly people’s party will leave the party exposed to infiltration. Feeble minds are like branches of the willow tree they are easily moved even by the lightest of breezes.
@ Ringson Ngozo
“Dear Nomusa please form your own non autocratic party. If CCC is what you say it is, people are free to vote for it and not to. So don’t stress, chill.”
Anyone who aspire to hold public office must be democratically accountable to the public; even more so those who go on to hold public office. The idea that political parties are accountable only to their supporters is a foolish notion bound to encourage party leaders to abuse power and do as they please, including rigging elections.
Yes Nomusa, Chamisa, anyone is free to form their own political party but for a democratic Zimbabwe we, the ordinary citizens, demand that the said political party must be a democratic party and committed to rule of law and good governance!
Chamisa is resisting all the pressure to make CCC a democratic and people’s party because he does not want to lose power and control of the party. He thinks CCC is has baby just as Mugabe considered Zanu PF and the whole country his. “My Zimbabwe!” he said and meant what he said.
@ Mehluli Sithole
“Who said he doesn't have advisors and this setup is a problem to those who want to destroy the party. Come elections l guess you will see what Zimbabwe wants.”
How elected them and to whom are they accountable? Why then doesn’t he formally appoint them? What makes you think such a control freak like Mugabe would ever want to give up absolute power?
Chamisa is only taking advantage of the tragic reality that Zimbabweans are desperate for change and therefore are prone to embrace even another dictator as long as he is not Mnangagwa!
@ Bionic Vus
“Mehluli Sithole, I really wish I could sleep one night and wake up as naïve as you are, sadly history & experience have taught us (at least me) that govts like Zanu pf don’t donate power, they hold on to it as if their lives depended on it, and they actually do.
There’s only 2 ways Zanu pf will ever leave power, and that’s through constitutional reforms and mass protests. Unfortunately Chamisa doesn’t believe in constitutions. And as for mass protests it’s also unfortunate that all our opposition parties are led by lawyers and diasporans, people who’re already living very comfortable lives and cannot risk 10 years to life in prison like Nkomo, Mugabe and the whole Zanu pf group in the 60s and 70s. The only problem with freedom is you can never get until you’re willing to die for it.”
The country would be in a different place if we had implemented the democratic reforms and ended the curse of rigged elections. We can still force the reforms to be implemented by refusing to participate in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy.
We, the people, need to wake up to the reality Chamisa and company are participating in these flawed elections for the same reasons they failed to implement even one reform during the GNU – greed and incompetence.
