Zanu PF needs the opposition to participate in these elections regardless how flawed and illegal the process gets and hence the reason why MPs' allowances have just been increased with US$40k house loan over and above the US$60k car loan plus the very generous allowances.
The likes of Mwonzora, as leader of the political party, has received a farm plus the generous command agriculture free loans plus Z$400 million from Political Party Finance Act. Even losers like Madhuku are doing very well from the POLAD allowances.
Chamisa and company are hell bent on participating in these elections out of greed. Zanu PF knows that and hence the reason the regime has ignored calls for reforms and free elections. Why risk losing the election by implementing reforms when you know the opposition will participate no matter what.
“Are you being send by Zanu PF to convince CCC not to contest elections?” you ask.
Zanu PF does not need anyone else’s help to convince CCC to participate in these flawed elections just as the regime did not need help to convince MDC to forget about implementing the reforms – Zanu PF knows CCC leaders are corrupt, they are in their deep pockets!

Mliswa is talking nonsense, as usual. He is once again blaming the people’s failure “to vote in numbers” for the country’s curse of corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical government and MPs. Zimbabwe has never held free, fair and credible elections for the last 43 years.
In 2008 Zanu PF was pressured by SADC to switch off its vote rigging juggernaut and in the March vote, the nearest the nation had got to holding free and fair elections, Zanu PF lost the election. It was Mnangagwa who intervened stopping ZEC announcing the results. The Zanu PF vote rigging juggernaut was switched back on. As a senior Zanu PF leader Mliswa knows all about the wanton violence of operation Mavhotera papi whose purpose was to punish the people for rejecting Zanu PF in the March vote. No one was left in any doubt that the vote rigging juggernaut and the dictatorship were back and with vengeance!
The 2008 to 2013 GNU was meant to implement the democratic reforms and end the Zanu PF dictatorship. Not even one reform was implemented because Mugabe bribe Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends entrusted with the task to implemented reforms.
Themba Mliswa know all these historic facts and political realities and knows that without first implementing reforms Zimbabwe will never have free elections. Zanu PF is rigging the 2023 elections just as readily as it rig past elections.
It is bad enough that our people have suffered and many have died because of decades of corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship. It is infuriating that people like Mliswa, who imposed the dictatorship, should pretend Zimbabwe is a democracy and not an autocracy!

The use of state resources to further Zanu PF's electoral advantage is standard Zanu PF modus operandi. How many of these village heads received motor cycles and other benefits from Zanu PF, down payments for their new role as Zanu PF political commissars. These village heads have their own private agenda!

@ Papa JC
“In 1979 Muzorewa- Smith government civil servants especially teachers were awarded outrageous salary windfall. Muzorewa- Smith thought they would buy the hearts and minds of people.
Mnangagwa seem not to learn from history or he was a poor history student. He is faced with an election which he knows he won't win and he is in the footsteps of Muzorewa-Smith in awarding unbudgeted salary increases.
The problem Mnangagwa is making is that he is awarding the very few loyal sectors to his rule. Muzorewa-Smith knew teachers were the backbone and chief financiers of the liberation struggle so they targeted those for salary windfalls. Their strategy was to buy votes or hearts of their enemies.
Mnangagwa is busy pampering CIO high ranking bosses with huge salary increase. Recently he awarded MPS and Ministers with US$40 000 loans. These sectors have very high loyal supporters of ED. Awarding them such out of this world salary increase is pointless as they will vote Mnangagwa with or without the salary increase as they have their personal interests to protect”
Rt Honourable Sell-out Chitando, the Smith-Muzorewa internal settlement failed to get legitimacy because Zanu and Zapu refused to participate in the flawed process.
It is you who is a poor history student, Zanu PF has been rigging elections for the last 43 years you and your MDC/CCC friends have failed to implement even one reform in 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU. And ever since the GNU debacle, you have participated in the flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy.
Zanu PF is rigging these elections, even if the regime does not award teachers and nurses huge wage increases, it will win these elections because the vote rigging juggernaut is well oiled and well-funded.
Only last week we heard CIO directors have been paid US$350 000 each and tax-free. Other key players such as the judiciary, Police, etc. know their fat cheques are coming. These are the individual who are rigging the elections, not the teachers and nurses, and the regime has them covered.
You and your CCC friends know Zanu PF is rigging these elections and know your participation will give the regime legitimacy. You are hell bent on participating regardless because you also know that Zanu PF is giving away a few gravy train seats. You have always found the bribe irresistible. You are a sell out just as Muzorewa was a sell-out.
