“It is stupid to think Zanu PF will reform itself out of
power. It is also dumb stupid to suggest boycotting of elections when Mwonzora
is lurking in the shadows to fill that void,” shot Osama23. Shooting
from the hip!
It is indeed stupid to expect Zanu PF to reform itself out
of office hence the reason the people of Zimbabwe have risked life and limb to
elect MDC/CCC for the express purpose of implementing the reforms. If I have
said this once, I have said it 100 times today alone!
If you think it is dumb stupid “to suggest boycotting of
elections when Mwonzora is lurking in the shadows to fill that void”.
It is even worse to participate in the flawed election to stop Mwonzora winning
the few gravy train seats because the principal beneficiary here is Zanu PF who
set the trap.
A rat on it’s own will avoid a trap. Introduce the
competition and the rat throws all caution to the wind. It doesn’t matter how
many other dead rats it has seen caught in the trap, all it is thinking about
is “If I don’t get that nut quick, some other rat will!” VHAMBU!
Mnangagwa is a buffoon, the recent Al Jazeera Gold Mafia
documentary proved that point beyond all reasonable doubt, still he, just like
Mugabe before him, understands that Zimbabwe’s opposition leaders are as greedy
and reckless as competing rats.
Zimbabwe’s 2008 elections took place when the country was facing
its worst ever economic meltdown; inflation was a nauseating 500 billion %, the
economy had all but collapse, unemployment had soared to 90% plus, etc., etc.
The people were restless for meaningful political change, as one might well
imagine! Robert Mugabe and his Zanu PF cronies resorted to blatant cheating and
wanton violence to retain their iron grip on political power.
However, the cheating and wanton violence were so outrageous
that not even SADC and AU, who had always turned a blind eye to Zanu PF rigged
elections in the past, could endorse the 2008 elections as a legitimate
process. Mugabe was forced to sign the 2008 Global Political Agreement (GPA) agreeing
to the need for Zimbabwe to implement the raft of democratic reforms designed
to restore the individual freedoms and rights including the right to free
elections.
Properly implemented the reforms would have stopped Zanu PF
rigging future elections.
The task of implementing the reforms were left to Morgan
Tsvangirai and his MDC friends for the obvious reason – Zanu PF would never
reform itself out of power.
Alas! MDC leaders took their eyes off the ball, and they
failed to implement even one token reform in five years of the GNU. Mugabe
bribed the MDC leaders with the ministerial E-class Mercedes Benz, the generous
salaries and allowances, the US$4 million mansion for Tsvangirai, etc., etc. In
return the MDC leaders throw the reforms out of the window. Not even one token
reform was implemented in five years!
So, Zanu PF emerged out of the 2008 to 2013 GNU with all the
party’s dictatorial powers including the carte blanche powers to rig elections.
The party was careful to ensure it gave up a few gravy train seats to entice
the opposition to participate in the election no matter how flawed and illegal
the process got. Zanu PF needs to maintain the multi-party democracy façade to
avoid SADC dismissing the election as a farce as happened in 2008.
Mnangagwa has spiced up the opposition bait by creating
POLAD a political body composed of the losing presidential candidates who
publicly endorsed the 2018 elections as free, fair and credible and endorsed
him as the legitimately elected president. They were rewarded with a new car
each plus other freebies.
I once taught an adult education “O” level Mathematic class.
It was hard work. And soon realised that for many of the students it was
mission impossible because, forget doing form one and two, they had not completed
grade seven. How can anyone comprehend the complexities of trigonometry when
they have not mastered simple Arithmetic!
Similarly, if one has failed to understand the democratic
reforms are and that MDC leaders sold out big time by failing to implement even
one reform during the GNU, this is primary school stuff. It is naïve to expect them
to comprehend the futility of participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF
legitimacy and perpetuating the dictatorship.
Nelson Chamisa and the few of his CCC friends who win the
few gravy train seats on offer as bait benefit. Douglas Mwonzora and Lovemore
Madhuku and the rest in the opposition camp benefit too from the POLAD
freebies. The real big losers here are the ordinary Zimbabweans who are paying
dearly for the consequences of 43 years and counting of Zanu PF corrupt and
tyrannical rule. Explaining all this to Osama23 is a complete waste of time, it
is teaching University stuff to a grade one!
Osama23 is blissfully content participating in these flawed
elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating his/her own
suffering just to stop Mwonzora winning any gravy train seats on offer as bait.
He/she will not stop Mnangawa giving Mwonzora the POLAD freebies.
If Nelson Chamisa and his MDC Alliance had boycotted the
2018 elections, for example, it is rich to argue that SADC and AU would not
have noticed. The opposition boycott would have been even more effective is
they had done so in 2013 because it was none other than SADC leaders themselves
who had proposed a boycott. But, again explaining all this to Osama23 is a
waste of time, it is all water off a buck’s back.
Of course, the POLAD freebies are a small price for
Mnangagwa to pay for the guaranteed participation in the flawed elections of
Chamisa, his supporters and all the misguided Osama23s out there.
If I had to name one reason why Zanu PF has ridden roughshod
over this nation then it must hubris. Hubris in the form of greed and
breath-taking incompetence on the part of the MDC/CCC leaders. Naivety and
ignorance on the part of the populous; the stubborn ignorance of people like
Osama23 who think they know when in fact they don’t know.

It is interesting how naive and impressionable the ordinary Zimbabweans are!
For the last two decades they have been calling for change, MDC has had change as its main slogan, and yet they have no clue what that change is. Even now with the benefit of ten years of hindsight since the end of the GNU they DON'T know that the primary purpose of the 2008 to 2013 GNU was to implement the democratic reforms and deliver the changes they have been wittering about all these years.
The GNU was our get-out-jail card and Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends traded it in for the gravy train good life! After that betrayal how can anyone still look to MDC/CCC as the nation's saviour and yet, they still do blissfully unaware the party is selling them to Zanu PF for 30 pieces of silver.
It is shocking that people are participating in these flawed elections to stop Mwonzora winning any of the few gravy train seats even when they doing so will allow Zanu PF rig the elections and get away with it. Their hatred of Mwonzora is such they would endure the Zanu PF dictatorship just to get at Mwonzora. In 2018 they participated in flawed elections to stop Dr Thokozani Khupe.
The truth is the most obnoxious thing Mwonzora and Dr Khupe have ever done was to fail to implement even one token reform during the GNU. And, ironically, they are not alone in this, Chamisa, Biti, Coltart and all the other CCC leaders were all in on this! Yes ignorance is a curse worse than death the more so when the victim believe they are wiser than King Solomon himself!
@ Masayisayi
“Mukonhori must tell the Zimbabwe people what is best without blaming the opposition party, as I see it he is in the forefront trying to intimidate the opposition, it is very clear.
Tisangotaura sana hopewell vanoyita gwaku mukwaku vasina direction, ndivo vana baba jukwa number 2.
Ndiro basa renyu kuyita confusion.”
Zimbabwe is in this mess, drowning in this cesspit, because Zanu PF has stifled meaning full debate and democratic competition of ideas. The regime has maintained its power and authority through fear and ignorance. We need to and must put an end to this madness.
MDC/CCC were elected into office on the promise they would bring about the democratic changes the nation was dying for. After 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU, they have failed to deliver even one reform. Not even one! Worse still, Chamisa and company are participating in these flawed elections knowing fully well Zanu PF is rigging the process and that by participating they are giving Zanu PF legitimacy. However, they are still participating regardless out of greed.
What Mukori is doing here is educating the people, they don’t know that MDC/CCC sold out big time during the GNU and are selling out now. MDC did sell out by failing to implement even one reform, Mukori is only stating a historic fact and it is nonsense to accuse him of “blaming the opposition”. You just want to stifle debate and censor the truth. Surely educating the people is a good thing.
The real big challenge here is to end the curse of rigged elections and bad governance and the nation was right to demand reforms. To agree that people should boycott these elections to demand reforms but must NOT do so in this case because Mwonzora will win the few gravy train Zanu PF is offering as bait is the most idiotic argument ever.
We are trading in the opportunity to end the Zanu PF dictatorship for the satisfaction of stopping Mwonzora winning a few gravy train seats!
What Zanu PF wants is to rig and win these elections and get political legitimacy and for the latter they need the opposition and the Zimbabwe populous to participate in numbers. And if building up Mwonzora into a Zimbabwe’s public enemy number one will galvanize the opposition and the public to participate into these elections no matter what, of course, that is what Zanu PF will do. And is doing!
Whether it is Chamisa or Mwonzora who is leader of the opposition makes no difference to Mnangagwa as long as he got all he wanted. Having MDC A these last five years has made no difference to the people’s lives either and that too will not change whether it is the Chamisa led CCC of Mwonzora led MDC A that emerges as the main opposition.
The people are trading their right to boycott these elections to push for reforms and fair election for participating in the flawed process just to stop Mwonzora winning the few gravy train seats Zanu PF is offering as bait. This is trading real gold for worthless iron pyrite, iron disulphide, fool’s gold. After 43 years of rigged elections of being cheated again and again; some people never learn!
@ Masayisayi
There are somethings we can agree to disagree on because they are a matter of opinion but when there are a matter of established historic fact those who disagree are merely denying the facts, truth and reality. We must never allow those seeking to deny facts to get away with it because the moment we allow such foolishness all our discourse and interaction will become utterly meaningless and progress will grind to a halt. And risk all that for what - to gratify some fool's misplaced ego!
MDC/CCC have failed to implement any meaningful reforms and they are selling off the nation's agenda of reform and free elections for petty selfish gain. I dare you to deny it!
How then can I be sowing confusion by telling the people the truth?
To participate in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy just to stop Mwonzora winning the bait seats is one of the dumbest things ever. Talk of trading real gold for iron pyrite, iron disulphide, fool’s gold. At least Mnangagwa has been trading real gold for dirty money not fool’s gold!
https://www.zimeye.net/2023/04/26/its-dumb-for-ccc-to-boycott-elections-with-mwonzora-lurking-hes-bait-participate-and-vhumbu/
MDC/CCC have had 23 years to implement reforms and end the culture of political violence. They have failed to implement even one reform because they were bribed to forget the reforms. CCC will never implement any reforms, they have settled for the few gravy train seats offered as bait to entice the opposition to participate to give Zanu PF legitimacy.
Chamisa and company are participating in these flawed elections no matter how flawed the process get out of greed. After 43 years of rigged elections how many more years are we going to forfeit the nation's chance to implement the reforms and get free elections in the name of winning rigged elections?
The only beneficiaries of this political madness of rigged elections are Zanu PF and their MDC/CCC acolytes. This is the political reality and we must wake up and deal with it.
If you were not sure of what you said then you should not have said it! I am sure of what I say and you can quote me day and night. Besides Wilbert Mukori is my real name, I have a backside to be kicked and a soul to be damned. Osama23 is a fictitious name so what are you wittering about!
I do not need to because I have never claimed to have the monopoly on common sense, I am merely pointing out the foolishness of some village idiots who claim to be rational when they are not.
@ Osama23
The only time the GNU nearly collapsed was when Tsvangirai withdraw his ministers from attending cabinet meetings to pressure Mugabe to let him stay in Zimbabwe House. The issue was resolved by buying Tsvangirai the US$4 m mansion.
The near collapse was not because Zanu PF was stopping MDC implementing reforms. Do not create a false narrative! SADC leaders nagged MDC leaders to implement reforms and still they did not budge!
@ Osama23
“and you think boycotting elections would have stopped Zanu pf proxies from contesting as opposition parties just to legitimise the election?”
You really are thick, shallow and slow! What has the nation gained from participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy? What will we gain from CCC participating this year if Zanu PF rigs the election to win majority in parliament and the presidency? CCC will once again be a minority party with no meaningful political power and we will be stuck with Zanu PF for another five years.
You are obsessed about Mwonzora not winning the bait seats as if CCC winning the seats will make any difference.
The nation’s primary objective is to implement reforms and hold free and fair elections, participating in these flawed elections is delaying that happening because we are giving Zanu PF legitimacy. To argue that Zanu PF will get political legitimacy even if CCC boycotted is a fallacious argument because SADC, whose decision is key on the legitimacy issue, are the ones who argued MDC to boycott the 2013 elections. Why would SADC argue to boycott only to punish MDC for doing what they asked!
To participate in flawed elections for the sake of stopping Mwonzora winning the few bait seats and giving Zanu PF legitimacy is trading real gold for iron pyrite, iron disulphide, fool’s gold. Of course, it is insane particularly after 43 years of rigged elections.
Mnangagwa is a buffoon but you Osama23 you are worse. At least Mnangagwa has been trading real gold for dirty money, you are trading is for fool’s gold! God help Zimbabwe that such a village idiot has the vote!
@ Osama23
“That was your opinion. unfortunately it cant be qualified as a fact coz the reforms were supposed to pass thru a parliamentary process, an almost impossible task coz the MDCT didn't have 2/3 majority.”
Once again, you are talking rubbish! A GNU is not a normal government in which MPs retain their partisan loyalties. Anyone who had not won in the 2008 election could serve as MP in the GNU and that is exactly what happened allowing Arthur Mutambara and some of his MDC-M friends, for example to be included in the GNU.
Any MP, Senator and minister could submit reform proposal during the GNU. Anyone! The fact that not a single reform proposal was ever submitted in five years of the GNU speaks volumes of the sheer incompetence of the MDC leaders! The fact that people like you still continue to defend MDC leaders’ treasonous betrayal only goes to show just how shallow and naïve YOU are!
How can we move on as a nation when some village idiots will not even accept historic facts!
@ Mbofana
Even during the dark heinous Apartheid era – was racial segregation against the Indian community in South Africa not the main reason a young lawyer by the name Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi finally decided to return home to fight for India's independence from British colonial rule?
So, why does it appear as if these people not only successfully managed to free themselves of colonial bondage – but also, of the shackles of its legacy?
As I look admiringly at those of Indian descent, I see a people who adamantly refuse to be held back by their history – but, have made a deliberate choice to move on with their lives.
This, tragically, is not what we see with us as Black people.
Nevertheless, when it appears as if we, as a people, are failing to move past that – then, that becomes worrying, since it holds us back.
Furthermore, I find it rather unsettling when we still find those amongst us whose main purpose in life appears solely to revive memories of slavery and colonialism, as well as how we are still treated today.
I always ask myself, "Whilst we are busy doing that, what would others – who suffered, and are still suffering, a similar fate as ours – doing?"
Are they not moving on with life, unperturbed, as they make themselves a better people, and climbing up the rungs of power and influence in the world?
That is why I found the recent utterances by, and subsequent suspension of, British Labour Party MP Diane Abbott, quite saddening and unfortunate.
The very fact that she could trivialize the racism faced by other ethnicities, such as Jews and the Irish – displays this obsession by us, as Blacks, in wanting to portray our own suffering as greater than anyone else's.
That is how we then find ourselves trapped in this self-imposed dungeon – whereby, we allow our past, and even our present, dictate to us, and hold us back from moving ahead.”
You have hit the nail on the head there once again Mbofana. Thanks!
This weakness to see ourselves as helpless victims of the white colonial oppression has allowed dictators like Mugabe and Mnangawa to hide their own failures and shortcomings under the smoke screen of fighting off the white oppressors. By dressing the opposition and all their critics as puppets of the white Zanu PF has exercise carte blanche oppressive measures. The colonial link has never been proven but the naïve and gullible public have accepted it as fact!
It is very sad that 43 years after independence we are still fighting for all the basic and fundamental rights and freedoms. It does not help that whenever we get a chance to turnover a new leaf those entrusted with this task sell out as did MDC/CCC leaders!
The Civil Registry Department will from next Monday send 129 national mobile registration units out again to process and facilitate the issuance of national documents required for voter registration.
The exercise will be conducted countrywide up to July 31 and the department has since published in the media, the places and days where these teams will visit.
The programme is meant to provide citizens with an opportunity to obtain national identity documents so they can register as voters in the upcoming 2023 harmonised elections if they are not already on the voters roll.
The registration exercise, with a $24 billion budget, was being conducted in conjunction with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission mobile biometric voter registration blitz ahead of harmonised elections scheduled for this year.
We have seen videos of rural folk bused in from Domboshava, Goromonzi and other areas into Harare registering to vote. We know from the past that voters have been bused in from one place to another to vote! No one can realistically expect all those who have registered in the last few months to be screened and added to the voters’ roll and so will be allowed to vote if the produce their voter registration slip. Therefore, all this last minute, “chipatapata nhaka yamakonzo” voter registration makes sense!
There tragedy for Zimbabwe is that the opposition know that these elections are flawed, know that by participating they give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy and still they participate regardless out of greed.
“The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition was that both MDCs couldn’t now do the obvious – withdraw from the (2013) elections,” confessed Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.
“The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility.”
Of course, it does not help when the nation gets a get out of jail card and waste it because those entrusted to implement the reforms have been paid to do nothing. MDC/CCC are paying lip service to reforms and free election, they did not implement even one token reform when they had the golden chance to do so during the 2008 to 2013 GNU it is naïve to expect them to do so now!
@ Godfrey
“ED is assured of SADC Certificate of legitimacy - Judging from SADC’s. own comments
So, participation or non will not change anything.”
I totally agree with you there, ANC has already said that it will not support – sanctions induced - regime change in Zimbabwe.
It is even more important that we show SADC that regime change in Zimbabwe is the democratic wish of the people only they are being deny the opportunity to show it because the elections are rigged. We must also put distance between ourselves and CCC who are participating in these flawed elections out of greed. We must not give SADC the excuse to endorse these election and grant Zanu PF legitimacy!
@ JC
“Please let people practice their democratic right of choosing their leaders. The opposition always wins in urban settlements. This shows that there are some merits in the voting process.
What the opposition need to do is to show that areas under their jurisdiction are better managed and they must represent the people in parliament. So far they have dismally failed. No better than Zanu PF.
What we have seen in the past is them fighting amounts themselves to gain party assets and MPs. They forgot representing the people.
Which country holds free and fair elections??? America? If so why were they complaining about rigging.”
Zanu PF is banking on that shallow mentality – as long as we allow a few to win gravy train seats the opposition will participate no matter what!
Are the rural voters who are frogmarched to vote for Zanu PF not allowed to exercise their democratic right too?
What difference does CCC winning a few urban MPs if Zanu PF win the majority and the presidency and thus perpetuating the dictatorship. How long are we going to forfeit reforms, free elections and good governance to allow a few greedy opposition leaders to collect their 30 pieces of silver?
The very fact that you are defending the insanity of participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy, even now after 43 years of rigged elections, only goes to show just how shallow and naïve you are. It also explains why the country is in this mess, with such as you for voters, what else!
“Which country holds free and fair elections??? America?” Fcuk me! So you want to tell me the blatant cheating and wanton violence by Zanu PF thugs is comparable to what is happening in USA!!!!! You really are a village idiot!
This is sounding more like there will be reruns until the preferred candidate wins - it is not easy to rig when the other side is doing the same, and is equally good at it! "Matsotsi haagerani!2 as one would say in Shona!
@ JC
“When reasoning stops 🛑 some men starts to scold others or use physical power to force their thoughts into others. Then are you a democrat? You can't swallow different views.
The few urban seats are far much better than the zero you are advocating.”
You are right I cannot swallow idiotic arguments. Of course it is idiotic to argue that it is ok to allow an election process in which millions are frogmarched to vote, 3 m in the diaspora are denied the vote, there is not even a verified voters' roll, etc., etc. as long as Tendai Biti and a few others are allowed seats on the gravy train. The war of independence was fought so that all Zimbabweans can live in peace and dignity not a select few in the opposition and their Zanu PF ruling elite masters.
If you think you can say this rubbish and then hide under the smoke screen of “different view” or “democratic right” think again. You don’t have the right to belittle others much less to deny them their freedoms and rights. Do that and you will be told off in no uncertain terms.
We are talking here of Zimbabwe’s failure to hold free and fair elections for 43 years and the need to end this insanity. The consequences of this failure is the economic meltdown and the heart breaking human suffering and unnecessary deaths. You cannot keep on trivialising the suffering of millions out there with foolish arguments designed to perpetuate the vote rigging and dictatorship. If you have nothing useful to say shut up.
You have missed the point - if Zimbabwe was democratic nation, which the Second Republic is supposed to be, and citizens could air their anger freely, would there be Zimbabweans out there who would join in and shout Mbavha? I would say, yes! This is what made this video so popular - it is saying what millions would want to say but will not dare to say it!
"Zanu PF must refrain from dirty poll tactics!" Well that is one lead balloon that will never fly! Why should Zanu PF do that and risk losing the elections especially when the party knows it can use the dirty tactics and get away with it. CCC will participate in these flawed elections no matter how dirty the tactics get - they are paid and paid well to participate!
@ JC
“Show us how that can be achieved by having zero seats or no representation. You repeat day in and out the problem and giving a silly solution. Yes I will not argue with you.”
If the seats you are allowed to have are only to give the process legitimacy then it is foolish to take those seats especially when you also know those taking those seats sold out on the golden opportunity to implement reforms that would have guaranteed free, fair and credible elections for all.
You have made up your foolish mind, your village idiot mind, to participate in these flawed elections and any solution saying otherwise in “a silly solution”. If you will not listen to reason then you deserve to be put in you place – the village idiot corner!
After 43 years of rigged elections it is insane to allow this to continue and the only way to stop village idiots like you participating is by taking them by the scuff of the neck and shake them like a doll! Everyone, I mean everyone including the VIs must know that Zanu PF is rigging 2023 elections, CCC is participating out of greed and the ordinary people will do so out of fear (rural folk) or ignorance (VIs). Everyone must know this especially the VIs, hence the need to shake them and make sure they are awake for this one!
ONE of the country's traditional leaders has told government to give them more freebies for them to earn respect from their subjects.
The new demands come hardly a month after President Emerson Mnangagwa promised to hand over top-of-the-range cars to the chiefs in a gesture he said was meant to make sure that they help Zanu-PF win elections later this year.
However, Chief Svosve of Hwedza said traditional leaders deserved more.
"We have MPs (Members of Parliament) given cars to work with so why should we not be given cars, loans and seating allowances," Svosve told NewsDay on the sidelines of an agriculture field day in Hwedza on Thursday.
"Chiefs should be treated with respect and be given more perks.
"In fact, we are being short-changed as we should be treated as kings and given spacious houses and bodyguards to protect us."
The patronage system has rewarded individuals for their blind loyalty to Zanu PF leaders and the party’s no regime change ethos at the expense of merit and hard work. We used to be known for our good work ethics and now we are known for expecting to ripe where we never sowed and those of us without the political connection to join the looting brigade, we beg.
Chief Svosve is begging for more freebies from Zanu PF for himself knowing fully well that millions of ordinary Zimbabweans are living in abject poverty. He wants the regime to reward him and his fellow chiefs for their work as Zanu PF political commissars denying the ordinary people their freedoms and rights for the sole purpose of keeping Zanu PF in power.
Chief Rekayi Tangwena fought a running battle with the white regime demanding his people’s rights to own land and live in dignity. Since independence Chiefs have worked hard to deny their people their freedoms and human dignity for the purpose of keeping Zanu PF in power. Chief Tangwena must be spinning in his grave!
The Chiefs and village heads had been corrupted by the whites and then Zanu PF to serve them and not the people. These institutions must go they now serve no real purpose given there are elected councillors and local government.
Of course Zanu PF will knows how each one voted especially in the rural areas! Why otherwise do you think Zanu PF replaced the constituency voters' roll with polling station voters' roll and increase the number of polling stations from 10 in 2008 to 45 and 55 in 2013 and 2018 respectively.
Zanu PF is rigging these elections CCC is participating knowing fully well the elections are flawed and that participating will give Zanu PF legitimacy. They are participating regardless because they also know that Zanu PF is giving away a few gravy train seats to entice the opposition to participate and this they have found irresistible.
Zanu PF is frogmarching the rural voters to be absolutely certain who voted and with 400 or so per Polling Station they will easily single out those who voted for the opposition. “Operation green mango – yellow inside and green outside!” Yeah right! These hare-brain strategies will never fool anyone!
@ Eddie
Patrick's nailed that one! Now, can someone please explain why you stupid citizens have allowed zpf to do so much damage, and have done sod-all to stop them? You had massive riots over food prices etc but did sod-all to fix the problem. You complain about rigged elections, but did sod-all to minimise said rigging, and your abilities to even prove it are seriously lacking! You've allowed opposition to be wiped out, dating back to the 1980's, yet did sod-all, to create, maintain and support such opposition, since the 1980's. Let's not forget that you now have one greedy stupid, aka Chamisa, who, instead of doing something, indeed ANYTHING, to stop vote rigging, just whinged about not being allocated a seat, and doing his own thing just to keep it, along with all its perks! There's more to it, yes, but I'm tired. Perhaps someone could post about why you citizens have been so stupid for so long, or is it that, combined with cowardice and other factors?
Zimbabweans have a binary mentality, they see white or black, right or wrong, good or bad, etc. Once they have classified some one as good, he/she can do no wrong. They have MDC/CCC as good and so even when these leaders sold out by failing to implement even one reform during the GNU, it was all water off a duck’s back because MDC can do no wrong.
The country is stuck with the Zanu PF dictatorship because MDC/CCC not only sold out on reforms but are the ones participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating the dictatorship. CCC leaders have conned the people into abandoning reforms and free elections to embrace the idiotic notion that CCC has strategies to win rigged elections. Even after 43 years of rigged elections some people still believe the oxymoronic nonsense. It is insane and the nation has paid dearly for the madness!
