Lovemore Moyo MDC Speaker of Parliament during GNU, did not know that the primary purpose of the GNU was to implement reforms. W Mukori

Debate over the fate of the opposition took centre stage this week, for the first time since he resigned from the MDC-T as its chairman Lovemore Moyo talks about the inside details. Why he left, how @nelsonchamisa rose to power. He opens up on #FreeTalk with @bbmhlanga from Bulawayo.

The primary purpose of the GNU was to implement the democratic reforms to stop the blatant cheating and wanton violence of 2008. MDC leaders failed to submit even one reform proposal in 5 years because Mugabe bribed them and they were too busy enjoying the trappings of high office.

“Mazivanhu eMDC adzidza kudya anyerere!” boasted Zanu PF cronies when asked why MDC leaders were not implementing reform.

It is either the Honourable Speaker of GNU Parliament, Lovemore Moyo, did not know what the primary purpose of the GNU was. Or he knew but forgot about the reforms because, like all the other MDC leaders, he had his snout in the feeding trough. Either way, it confirms what we already know about MDC leaders - they are breathtakingly corrupt and incompetent!

It pays in the end to have quality leaders in the beginning. In MDC/CCC we did not have quality leaders and the nation has paid dearly for their blundering incompetence and corruption. One only hopes the nation has learned the lesson!

It is nonsense that Tsvangirai was a democrat when he up held the democratic values only when it suited him! There is no such thing as a democrat on Monday but a tribalist on Tuesday and, for convenience, we will him a democrat the rest of the week! What he did in appointing Chamisa and Mudzuri VP sowed the seed of division in the MDC from which the party has never recovered and thus the more reason he must be labelled a tribalist!

He was president, VP, SG and many other post in CCC, he was carrying no one on his back and claim of those he carried on his back were back-stabbing him is just nonsense. Chamisa is becoming more and more like the Zanu PF thugs, they are always looking for scapegoats to blame for their own failures.

@ Chamisa

In another social media post, Chamisa defended his approach, highlighting that the fight for change in Zimbabwe is a marathon, not a sprint.

"It has not been easy to stand for right, truth and the authentic alternative. I can understand the struggle fatigue. It has been a long, rough and tough journey, #traveled fighting brutality and oppression. Struggles are never easy. It is a struggle- and it is not instant coffee or a walk in the park!

The opposition leader's comments come amid growing dissatisfaction within his base, where some have expressed disillusionment over the perceived lack of progress in challenging the Zanu PF-led government.

This is nauseating!

The primary purpose of the 2008 to 2013 GNU was to implement the democratic reforms to stop the blatant cheating and wanton violence of 2008 and thus end the curse of rigged elections. Zanu PF blatantly rigged 2023 elections precisely because MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one token reform in 24 years, including the 5 years in the GNU.

The GNU was supposed to last 18 months, it was agreed this would be enough to implement the reforms. The GNU lasted 5 years, 60 months, and still not even one token reform was implemented. Not one!

Robert Mugabe bribed the MDC leaders with the trappings of high office and they, in return, kicked the reforms into the devil-thorn Cactus thicket. Not even the constant nagging by SADC, notably Minister Lindiwe Zulu, could get MDC
leaders to implement even one reform in 5 years.

It is now 24 years, including 5 years in the GNU, and MDC/CCC leaders have not implemented even one token democratic reform, a task that should have taken 18 months!

“Fight for change in Zimbabwe is a marathon, not a sprint!” Yeah right! You really think all Zimbabweans are fools.

You, Chamisa and your friends are just paying lip service to democratic change to keep your brainwashed supporters happy. You have been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy for a few gravy train seats reward. You just want to maintain you poll position as the country’s main opposition whilst you wait for the street protest and/or military coup (hoping the coup plotters will not short change you as in 2017) to force Zanu PF out of office. You waiting for others to pressure Zanu PF and never lift a finger yourself.

Taliban spokesperson complaining that now that the war was over they were bored!

The down side of an armed struggle is that it throws up the otherwise braindead hawks as the leaders who have nothing to offer since all they know is war have to start phoney wars just to feel useful.

In Zimbabwe Zanu PF turned their AK47 rifles on the populous in 1980 to impose a de facto one party dictatorship. The last few week the regime was on a war footing to deny the people their right to peaceful demonstrations - hundreds were arrested. tortured and/or imprisoned because they were suspected of joining the demos.

“No Zimbabwe is failed state because of empty vessels like you who their only contribution to the struggle is to play a blame game and make noise abroad without giving solution. Come back let's advocate for these reforms you preach day and night uripaGround ...Come back Mukori yes Chamisa has failed wena buya ....am ready to help you in pushing for it ...Come back it will be you and I …”

I am pleased to note that you accept that Chamisa has failed - getting some people to even admit that has been the proverbial getting hen’s teeth!

You are on the ground, I notice you place great importance on being on the ground; please tell me what you have been doing? You who does not waste time and energy making noise and, no doubt, have the solutions to the problems.

Chamisa and his MDC/CCC friends have been on the political stage for 24 years, including 5 in the GNU, and they have failed to implement even one token reform. We have the sharp shooters on the ground, you, they have noticed the failures and for 24 years and counting, you have clearly failed to do anything about it.

Chamisa is gearing to participate in the 2028 elections and will con millions of Zimbabweans to participate to give Zanu PF legitimacy. Where the fcuk are the sharp shooters?

You are just a village idiot masquerading as a sharp shooter. You are one of the 2 million who were conned by Chamisa into participating in last year’s elections because you believed the idiotic lie that he had plugged all vote rigging loop holes.

Zimbabwe is a failed state because we have failed to stop Zanu PF rigging elections. Chamisa & Co. have sold out on reforms but the situation has been made worse by the braindead Chamisa Chete Chete brigade who have participated in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and CCC a few gravy train seats. The solution is stopping the braindead brigade participating non flawed elections.

Educating the ignorant, naive and gullible Zimbabweans is the number task and anyone can do it.

Village idiots like you are insisting only those on the ground can bring about change and yet you cannot name one thing you have done! It is not so much that you want me on the ground but just want to silence me. You cannot bear to hear the truth spoken about Chamisa.

For 44 years we have had to endure the idiotic nonsense from the likes of Chris Mutsvangwa demanding that only Zanu PF has the solution because they fought in the liberation war and everyone else must be silent. Now we have Mutsvangwa copy-cats claiming they have the solutions because they are on the ground - although all they have ever done is to sell out - and everyone else shut up. Well I will be damned if you think I will ever listen to a village idiot the original or copy-cat!

“Since you said there are three types of people , am sure you can't put yourself under the idiots and tribesmen, obvious you see yourself as a citizen so come back citizen don't be a coward.”

You are ere to defend Chamisa no matter what making you a tribesman, at best. As a tribesman you are not qualified to judge the right or wrong of what the citizen is doing by virtue of the fact the later values truths, facts and reality - the very things the tribesman is simply incapable of ever comprehending.

But it is to be expected that the tribesman would consider a citizen a coward because the latter does not follow his example and do all the stupid things tribesman do. You participated in last year’s flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy on the basis of Chamisa’s idiotic lie that he had plugged all vote rigging loop holes. To you I am a coward because I refused to participate.

Being called a coward by a village idiot has never bothered me and never will. You know why? The village idiots have never produced one iota of evidence to back their accession.

Call some one a village idiot and provide the mountain of evidence to prove it drives the individual nuts because deep down even they know they are indeed village idiots. Only a village idiot would believe Chamisa’s idiotic lies, believe only those on the ground have solutions to the country’s problems, etc. QED!

The looting of Zimbabwe's mineral wealth has gone into overdrive and, to add insult to injury, some of the ill-gotten wealth is bankrolling the Zanu PF dictatorship keeping it in power. Mnangagwa must have squandered over US$5 billion in bribes alone in the 2023 elections buying chicken and chip to povo bused from one rally to another, buying twin-cab trucks for chiefs and church leaders, US$40K, 400K and 500K "housing loan" @ for all MPs, judges and ministers respective.

Our mineral riches should be a blessing but is now a curse funding our oppressors!

We can dismantle the dictatorship if only we can get the thoroughly brainwashed Chamisa Chete Chete brigade to open their eyes and minds to see the sheer folly of participating in flawed elections to perpetuate the Zanu PF dictatorship because they believe Chamisa's idiotic lies!

"I am thirsty for war now!" said Taliban spokesperson, Mullah Janan. "We are bored sitting in the office."

Zimbabwe's very own Zanu PF Taliban have quenched their own insatiable thirsty for war ever since the country's independence by turning their AK47 rifles on povo (notably in Gukurahundi massacre), on each other, imaginary neo-colonialists and spend the remainder of the time looting the nation's resources.

The party turned Zimbabwe into a North Korea style Police state arresting and harassing people to stop them reminding SADC leaders that Mnangagwa rigged the 2023 election and therefore is illegitimate. Chris Mutsvangwa, Zanu PF spokesperson, cum Mullah Janan, was particularly pleased with the arrest, torture and imprisonment of suspected protesters BEFORE they had done anything!

Still Zimbabwe has had many opportunities to end the Zanu PF dictatorship if only MDC/CCC leaders have not sold out again and again and again.

Zimbabweans must stop the folly of participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy, give Chamisa & co. a few gravy train seats only to perpetuate our own suffering. This is easier said than done given ignorance and naivety of many voters.

Many senior MDC leaders did not know that the primary purpose of the 2008 to 2013 GNU was to implement the democratic reforms designed to stop Zanu PF rigging the election. The few who did know were too corrupt and incompetent to even get one token reform implemented. Either way, no MDC/CCC leader should ever held public office post 2013.

The only reasons these corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless individuals are still on the political stage is because the voters themselves are ignorant, naive and gullible. Most voters do not know what the reforms are much less that MDC/CCC leader sold out by failing to implement the reforms.

Democracy demands that the voters must be educated, knowledgeable and diligent. Zimbabwean voters have none of these qualities. None!

“Is this narrative correct? There are more trucks from DRC and Zambia than those from Zim. Just go to Kapiri. This kind of disinformation is frightening.”

I did collaborate this Farai Maguwu’s report who too talked of lorries carrying lithium from Zimbabwe to Beira. If you think you will ever know how much looting is taking place then you are wasting your time, this is a very secretive regime, there are no records!

Indeed to start focusing on how many of the lorries are from Zimbabwe, etc. is to miss the point which is that there is wholesale looting taking place and we should be demanding transparency.

Well we cannot all be courageous, handsome, rich and wise like you. And yet the fact still remains that MDC leaders wasted the opportunity to implement the reforms during the GNU and hence the reason why Zanu PF is still able to rig elections!

I, Wilbert Mukori, believe there is wholesale looting of the nation's resources and believe the reports of people like Farai Maguwu, Al Jazeera, the late Edward Chindori-Chininga, etc. on the matter. I am not going to demand that they produce verified Customs and Excise reports or audited company reports because I know there are no such records, looters and smugglers do not keep records of the criminal activities for obvious reasons.

I do not need V11 forms to believe Zanu PF is a corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous regime. It is tragic that the nation's vast mineral resources which should be the nation's ticket to economic prosperity is instead being used to bankroll the dictatorship to keep it in power.

@ Geoffrey Nyarota

“Greetings Wilbert. Thank you very much for your elaboration.

I stand by the points I raise whether any of the allegations I challenge were collaborated by Farai Muguwu or not.

I know Muguwu very well and it is because he is such a respectable activist that I am incensed that he would collaborate the ridiculous claim that the line of eighteen—wheelers ferrying exports from Zimbabwe to Beira now stretches for 60 km from the Forbes Border Post all the way back to Nyazura. Mind you the video clip does not in any way endorse the claim of 60 km line of trucks. The fact that lithium ore is being ferried to Beira for shipping to Beira hardly requires the collaboration of Muguwu. The most common vehicle on the Mutare highway are the Chinese-built Shacman trucks. A good number turn left at Nyazura on their way to the lithium mines in Buhera and Bikita.

What, according to Muguwu, could the people living along the route ever do if they saw that the trucks were loaded with lithium being shipped to Beira. Everybody who sees these hundreds of lorries daily knows what they are carrying under the tarpaulin, anyway.

You and I are fighting on the same side and have done so going back to 18 years ago.

My concern is that we risk undermining the credibility that we have built over the years when we disseminate claims that are quite clearly not consistent with the truth.

Yes I know about the Edward Chindori-Chininga affair and the circumstances surrounding his alleged assassination. I wish some intrepid journalist would investigate this and several other alleged assassinations so that gullible public benefits from fully investigated, well documented reports supported by the very necessary proof.

My other concern is that the naked figure of $5 billion is not supported by any evidence or any paper trail. $5 billion does sound like too vast a quantity of chicken and chips for consumption by, say, a maximum of 100 thousand determined and hungry party supporters at, say, a maximum of 20 rallies. So, yes, I do believe $5 million is a more credible figure with regard to the quantity of chicken and chips consumed during the Zanu-PF election rallies last year.

As for your relentless onslaught on our now hapless opposition, despite the furiously claimed divine intervention, I think it is wholly justified in the interests of the same extremely gullible public.”

What Muguwu said was that lithium is being exported, in covered trucks so people cannot what is being exported.

He NEVER saw the video showing the queue of trucks nor did he ever say they were carrying lithium. So please correct the record.

I said Mnangagwa must have squandered US$5 billion on bribes alone to win the 2023 elections ranging from chicken and chips for povo, the trucks for chiefs and church leaders, US$40k rising to 500k housing loans for MPs to ministers. God only knows how much the likes of Wicknell Chivhayo was paid.

If you are suggesting the total among Mnangagwa spend in bribe is US$ 5m then people like Chivhayo will laugh in your face!

I believe in evolution and accept fossil evidence as proof of what happened millions of years ago. Neanderthal man was reconstructed from a few bone fragments. Of course, it would be great if a complete skeleton was discovered. Better still if a Neanderthal chick was to shows up flesh and all after millions of years frozen solid in some ice glacier.

I think we should be careful that we do not demand V11 proof particularly when we all know the regime is destroying all the evidence to cover its tracks. Giving Mnangagwa and company the benefit of the doubt there is no corruption will be to reward the regime for doing a good job hiding the evidence of wrong doing.

Do you know what the reforms are? Because if you know what the democratic reforms are then you would know that the primary purpose of the GNU was to implement reforms.

What are the reforms, how they are implemented, how MDC leaders have sold out, etc., etc. have been covered in great detail in the many articles in the 2013 era in particular on the following site zimbabwelight.blogspot.com

“As I said form your own party n do the right thing what are you wanting for???”

You really are failing to grasp the concept that all those in public office are accountable to the people. In your pea-size brain leaders are accountable to their supporters only. If you are not a member of a particular political party then you have no right to hold the leaders to account. Form you own political party!

When one is elected into public office what they do or fail to do affects their member and the rest of the nation. When MDC/CCC leaders failed to implement even one reform to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections, for example, it affected us all. We are all suffering the consequences of being stuck with the dictatorship. This is why MDC/CCC leaders must account to us all for selling out.

Whether I form my own party or not MDC/CCC leaders must still account for selling out on reforms. This is not negotiable - get that into you pea-size brain or it will be hammered in. I have a sludge hammer!

It was the turn os Zimbabwe to be chairman of SADC but to listen to Mnangagwa, you would think he awarded the chairmanship on merit. Merit! What merit? He rigged the 2023 Zimbabwe elections for Pete's sake.

Still within a few weeks of rigging the 2023 elections Mnangagwa was back on the campaign trail with his "2030 Mnangagwa anenge achipo!" He is addicted to power and what has made his addition razor-sharp is fear. Fear of losing his amassed wealth and most pressing of all, fear of having to account for the many hidden skeletons in closets, mine-shafts, etc.!

MDC/CCC have been on the political stage for 24 years including 5 in the GNU and they have failed to implement even one token reform which is what people elected them to do. I will hold them to account for that. That is hard for a nincompoop like you to understand because you believe Chamisa is a demigod who should not be held to account. He is not only a mere mortal but a corrupt and incompetent one to boot.

Nelson Chamisa is a mere mortal and I, Wilbert Mukori, will hold him to account for conning nincompoops like you to participating in flawed 2023 elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed.

Many people are seeing the folly of participating in flawed elections but there are nincompoops like you who continue to shut their eyes and minds to the truth. I intent to hammer the message home, I have the sludge hammer and will use it! Watch this space.

Your arguments are so shallow and tedious. I have just written a commentary on the 10 Commandment it does not change anything no more than my comments on reforms. Why should one be considered rewriting and the other not? Why is the difference important to you?

Implementing the reforms is necessary to stop Zanu PF rigging elections that is an idea, a concept, that will stand or fall on its merit or lack of it. And not on who said it. But since you cannot rationally deal with the idea you always focus on the messenger. You really are incapable of seeing the bigger picture. This is not about me, you, Chamisa, Mnangagwa, not even about CCC or Zanu PF. This is about Zimbabwe, the nation, the good of Rome and not the glory of Caesar.
