MPs fail to pay back dodgy loans
Harare, July 29– Zimbabwe’s Parliamentarians have failed to pay back over US$76.5 million 2023 loan advanced to them in an opaque deal that has exposed the lawmakers to scrutiny.
Failure to payback the loans was flagged by the Auditor General who uncovered a shocking financial breach revealing that parliamentarians, constitutionally mandated to hold the government accountable, have allegedly plundered public funds by pocketing the said millions and are yet to pay back.
The deal, the report shows, were deliberately left incomplete—no repayment deadlines, no instalment amounts—effectively turning taxpayer money into free cash for MPs.
This is not a surprise, everyone knew that the US$40 000, US$ 400 000 and US$ 500 000 housing loans to MPs, judges and ministers respectively were bribes to buy their help Mnangagwa rigging the2023 elections. The recipients knew this was a bribe and accepted the gift in the same spirit; they did not ask for the loan and knew they were expected to repay the loan in kind and not cash!

Mnangagwa’s number one priority has always been how to retain power at all cost. Corruption is in overdrive and most of the looted wealth is going straight into buying votes through all these “housing loan”, post car gifts, propaganda, etc., etc. As long as Zimbabwe remains a pariah state ruled by corrupt, incompetent and murderous buffoons who rig elections to retain their iron grip on power there will never be any meaningful economic recovery. All those who aspire to or hold public office are and must be democratically accountable to the people. This is a tenet of a healthy and functioning democracy as government of the people, for the people and by the people. It is is the sacred duty all the citizens to hold leaders to account. A scathing audit report has exposed a massive financial mismanagement scandal within Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, revealing approximately US$702,938,963 in unaccounted or undocumented funds.
The audit findings highlight a litany of financial irregularities, including unaccounted foreign currency payments, uncleared transactions, undisclosed revenue, and substantial debts owed to suppliers and service providers, raising serious concerns about transparency, accountability, and governance within the Ministry.
More than US$84.5 million in direct foreign currency payments, made on behalf of the Ministry is unaccounted for in its financial records, according to the Auditor General (AG)’s report for the year ended December 31, 2024.
This is very common occurrence in all Government ministries and parastatals. The real surprise is that Mnangagwa is still hell bent on staying in power beyond 2028 under the pretext he is the only competent to deliver the three fold GPD growth vision 2030 promise. These reports of rampant corruption point to economic stagnation and not boom!

VP Chiwenga has been celebrating his ex-wife's forfeiture of a house and two posh vehicles in SA. He reported the criminal activities relating to the money in buying the assets. Why did he grassed on his own former wife?
There have been many cases of Zimbabweans involved in money laundering involving SA banks and other institutions. The ANC government has been informed of these criminal activities and yet never acted. ANC has connived in the corruption and economic demise of Zimbabwe and one of the consequences of which is millions of Zimbabweans crossing the border into SA.

The March 2008 elections is the nearest Zimbabwe has ever come to holding free, fair and credible election. When is was clear that Zanu PF was losing the vote Mugabe and other Zanu PF leaders had accepted defeat. Mnangagwa and Chiwenga did not accept the result and staged a electoral coup, blatantly cheating the vote count to justify a run-off. During the run-off Mnangagwa carried out a military style Operation Mavhotera Papi whose primary purpose was to punish the people for daring reject Zanu PF in the March 2008 vote. The wanton violence was barbaric and unprecedented.
If Zanu PF had accepted the 2008 election result, Zimbabwe would have been spared wanton violence of the run-off and, more significantly, the nation would have followed a totally different course and spared the chaos, suffering and death of the Zanu PF dictatorship.
The truth of the 2008 electoral coup must be uncovered and those responsible held to account; we owe it to ourselves and posterity to know the truth!

“While presenting the review in Parliament, Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion minister Mthuli Ncube in off-the-cuff remarks confirmed that more money was being made outside compliance.
“During the second half of the year, government will be seized with the implementation of business reforms, targeting the reduction of fees and charges as well as regulatory requirements and the number of steps in acquiring licences for example,” Ncube said.
“This will significantly reduce the operating costs for industry to enable it to compete both domestically and internationally.
“We have a situation where in some sectors, players or private players are only profitable if they don’t comply with regulatory requirements.
“If they comply, they make losses and that situation needs to be changed. We will lower the cost of doing business.”
Well, well, well! We all know many of the real big business owners making tonnes of money are certainly NOT “complying with regulatory requirements”. Many people have clamoured that Wicknell Chivayo must reveal the source of his fabulous wealth, people have even petitioned parliament to investigate him. He continues to flaunt his vast wealth and every one knows it is all from illegal activities. And he remains untouched and untouchable!

I hear your passion. The first thing at present is for Zimbabweans to wake up to the reality that the MDC/CCC leaders are Zanu PF team B in all but name playing for team A to win and to have legitimacy. As long as millions continue to believe Chamisa’s idiotic lies and participate in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy, then nothing will change.
It is shocking that after 25 years with not even one token reform implemented millions continue to blindly follow Chamisa!
A healthy and functioning democracy demands that the people must be diligent in their sacred duty of holding leaders to account and that is only possible if the people are educated, knowledgeable and objective. Millions of our people have the personality cult mentality and it is so strong they believe Chamisa is a demigod. Chamisa has exploited this weakness conning them to participate in flawed elections because they believed his idiotic lies!
After 45 years of rigged elections many still believe they can win flawed elections, even when it is clear they are "so flawed the only logical step is to withdraw". Chamisa conned them to participate in the past and will do so again in 2028!

Voter turnout in the post 2023 elections have been pathetic. Zanu PF has won-uncontested in many of them. One only hopes that people are finally waking up to the sheer futility of participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy, perpetuate the nation’s suffering so that a few CCC leaders win gravy train seats!

Zimbabwe's 2023 election process is flawed and illegal that both SADC and AU election observers condemned it. They could not deny Zanu PF legitimacy because millions of Zimbabweans had participated in the flawed elections knowing fully well that participating would give Zanu PF legitimacy. Chamisa conned them to participate claiming he "plugged all the vote rigging loop holes. #Godisinit!"
It is no exaggeration that Zimbabwe elections are so flawed "results are known BEFORE voting begin"!
So Chamisa was lying about "plugging vote rigging" a process he knew was already done and dusted!
Why were millions conned into believing this idiotic lie and participated in the flawed elections only to perpetuate their own suffering? And, most pressing of all, will they be conned again to participate in flawed 2028 elections?

How does participating in a process you know is flawed and that participating will give Zanu PF legitimacy help, especially when you know those conning you to participate sold out on implementing reforms and are participating out of greed?
Why millions of Zimbabweans have not questioned MDC/CCC leaders even after 25 years on the political stage with nothing to show for it, speaks volumes of their IQ.

No wonder we are failed state, we have some people with a serious intellectual challenge, millions of them, and, to crown it all they have the vote! You cannot get quality government when those entrusted to elect the leaders are so ignorant, naive and gullible they are easily conned to do one stupid thing after another!

Was Chamisa & co. "fighting for the little available space" when they failed to implement even one token reform in 25 years including the 5 years in the GNU?
Coltart has explained why MDC N and MDC T participated in flawed 2023 elections even when the logical step was to withdraw - greed.
“The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition was that both MDCs couldn’t now do the obvious - withdraw from the (2023) elections. The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.
Some people refuse to accept facts because they do not have the intellectual ability to comprehend them as facts. Others refuse to accept facts because the close their eyes and minds!
Chamisa lied about plugging vote rigging loop holes, if we are struggling to comprehend such a simple fact what more of the more complex issues. 45 years after independence, in this day and age, and we continue to fail to hold free, fair and credible elections because there millions who do not even know what constitute free and fair elections. Poor, poor Zimbabwe!

So you have noticed how many times I talked about reforms but failed to notice that Zimbabwe has had rigged elections for 45 years and counting.
I have offered a solution to ending the curse of rigged elections, stop participating in flawed elections and implement the reforms first. And yet you say I have not offered any solution!
No wonder we are a failed state, we just have more than our fair share of mentally challenged individuals and, to crown it all, we have given them a vote! And now the morons are holding the whole nation to ransom by being conned to do stupid things time and time again!
