A failed state is a state that has lost its ability to fulfill fundamental security and development functions, lacking effective control over its territory and borders. Common characteristics of a failed state include a government incapable of tax collection, law enforcement, security assurance, territorial control, political or civil office staffing, and infrastructure maintenance. When this happens, widespread corruption and criminality, the intervention of state and non-state actors, the appearance of refugees and the involuntary movement of populations, sharp economic decline, and military intervention from both within and outside the state are much more likely to occur.

Nonsense! Zimbabwe’s political history does not start and end in 2008! Yes Tsvangirai did win the March 2008 elections and Mnangagwa, Chiwenga and company conducted an electoral coup. Credit where credit is due, bothy SADC and AU denied Zanu PF political legitimacy and reformed the party to go into the 2008 to 2013 GNU.
Tsvangirai and his MDC fiends had the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms and dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship once and for all. They failed to implement even one token reform because Mugabe bribed them with the trappings of high office and they throw reforms out of the window.
Ever since the GNU debacle MDC/CCC leaders have given up implementing reforms and have participated in flawed elections out of greed. They have conned their brain-dead followers to participate in the flawed elections on the basis of idiotic lies of winning rigged elections.

There are four main reasons why the looting is curse and not an empowering blessing for Zimbabwe:
1) first and foremost Zimbabwe will be collecting much, much more money if all this economic activities was above board and all those involved paid tax, the finding was subjected to the parliament and Auditor General scrutiny. Mnangagwa is sitting at the apex as godfather of the looting schemes he certainly does not get the lion’s share of the looted wealth, as the Al Jazeera Gold Mafia showed.
2) Mnangagwa collects the money and so he spends it to suit his personal interests and not the nation’s best interests and yet what is being looted are national treasures and not his own personal resources. There is criminal waste of the nation’s material and human resources.
3) the fleet of cars and funds are handed over with great fun fare, singing and dancing to make many believe there are benefit from loots.
4) The worst thing is Mnangagwa uses the bulk of his looted wealth to bankroll his vote buying and vote rigging activities. He must have squandered a staggering US$5 billions in the 2023 elections from buying chicken and chips to the hired crowd to the “housing loans” paid to MPs, judges, ministers, etc. US$40k, 400k and 500k @ respectively. Mnangagwa and Zanu PF have become filthy rich and all manner of officials including the opposition leaders are now in their deep pockets making meaningful political change that much more difficult!

It is no secret that SADC leaders called a special SADC meeting in Maputo in June 2013 and they advised MDC leaders not to participate in the 2013 elections without first implementing the democratic reforms to ensure free and fair elections.
When Zanu PF pointed out to everyone that MDC leaders had not submitted even one token reform in five years, SADC leaders gave up on demanding reforms before elections. The real big surprise here is that millions of Zimbabweans have not understood that historic fact even to this day! Chamisa & co. have exploited this weakness to con millions to participate in flawed elections on the basis on idiotic lies of the opposition winning rigged elections.
There is a real danger that millions still do not know that MDC/CCC have been Zanu PFG team B in all but name, playing for team A to win and to have legitimacy. We cannot rule out that Chamisa will con millions to participate in flawed 2028 elections on the basis of the idiotic lies of the opposition winning rigged elections.

Man is a creature of reason and, per se, would value the truth, facts and reality above blind loyalty to a mere mortal because personality cult mentality says the leader is a demigod.
It is rational to acknowledge failure and do something to fix. There are others who would walk on sewage because acknowledge it would be tantamount to acknowledging the leader has failure and, to them, that is simply unthinkable.
45 years of rigged elections and come 2028 they will make it 48 years of rigged elections because they will not admit Chamisa has been lying to them about winning rigged elections. They believe everything Chamisa says particularly when it is seasoned with Bible verses and #Godisinit!

Chamisa knew Zimbabwe’s voters’ roll was in “shambles”, as Team Pachedu had warned. He did not even bother to do something as basic as deploy election agents at all Polling Stations, for Pete’s sake! He had received the funds for this and pocket the money instead.
And yet, come 2028 millions will believe Chamisa’s idiotic lies of winning rigged elections and participate to perpetuate the dictatorship the nation’s suffering. How anyone can be so shallow, thick and slow is a mystery.

Holy 10 captivated the nation's imagination with his outburst denouncing Zanu PF's greed. Like Blessed Geza in January 2025, Holy 10 said something we all know is true but did not dare say it.

How did we become a failed state? The first step was denying we were doing anything wrong even when it was clear we were on the wrong track. The second step was to admit things were going wrong but only to find scapegoats to blame for it.

Do not dare look away. The photo of a mother cuddling a new born sitting in a pool of her own blood. She was not allowed in the Hospital metres away because she was a foreigner in a foreign land, South Africa. It was a truly heartbreaking scene!
Many Zimbabweans have been denied health care in SA because they were foreigners. Millions have left the country as economic and/or political refugees. This is a man-made tragedy and, per se, within our powers to avoid. Why have we done nothing for 45 years and counting and it is for that very reason we must NOT look away!

Do not count Zimbabwe amongst the “educated” because when you have people with 11 years of formal education and yet do not know what a verb is and can hardly write a sentence without a spelling mistake or something then you know they learned nothing. Pass rates of 3% in rural areas have become the norm for decades - proof we have a regime that is obsessed about quantity but does not care about quality!

President Ibrahim Traore of Burkina Faso has launch free education and it is certain to be a great success because it will be well funded. Zimbabwe had a similar scheme soon after independence in 1980 and it has been a total disaster. Decades of poor funding have seen the quality of our education drop like a stone. Pass rates in the rural areas have dropped to 3%!
A nation that fails to invest in quality education of its young has no future! As long as Zanu PF remains in power nothing much will change and the nation will continue to sink into the abyss!
