No one owns Zimbabwe. No one is invincible! The mandate to govern must come from the people in a free, fair and credible election. W Mukori

The arrogance of the dictatorship in black and white. There can never be freedom and liberty of the individual without the law and rule of law.

The number one rule is that every citizen must have a meaningful say in the governance of the people. The mandate to govern must come from the people in a free, fair and credible elections - this is not negotiable.

In Zimbabwe Zanu PF has never ever held free, fair and credible elections ever since the country’s independence in 1980. Never ever!

The nearest the country has ever got to holding free and fair elections was the March 2008 elections. SADC had worked hard to force Zanu PF to accept a number of electoral reforms including the rule that all vote counting will take place at each Polling Station and the results made public. The people seized on this opportunity to express their democratic will to reject Zanu PF.

Whilst the other Zanu PF leaders like Didymas Mutasa, Robert Mugabe, etc. had accept the March 2008 election result; Emerson Mnangagwa and Constantino Chiwenga did not. The two thugs launch Operation Mavhotera Papi, an electoral coup, with the view of:

  1. wrestling the political power from MDC back to Zanu PF

  1. and, more significantly, punishing the people for having dare to reject Zanu PF.

Credit where credit is due, SADC and AU stepped in and refused to grant Zanu PF political legitimacy given the blatant cheating and wanton violence in the March 2008 vote count and the presidential run-off. Mugabe & co. were forced to join up with Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC fiends to form a Government of National Unity (GNU).

The primary purpose of the GNU was to implement the democratic reforms to secure the freedoms and rights of all Zimbabweans including the right to free elections and the right to life itself denied by the Zanu PF dictatorship.

The 2008 to 2013 GNU was structural very weak, there is no deny that. Still given the political will, the GNU could have implemented many important democratic reforms. Alas! it failed to implement even one token reform!

Mugabe bribed Tsvangirai & co. with the trappings of high office and with their snouts in the feeding trough the MDC leaders forgot about implementing reforms. And since the GNU debacle MDC/CCC leaders have participated in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy, conned their supporters to do the same, for a share of spoils of power.

The failure by millions of Zimbabweans to realise that MDC/CCC leaders are Zanu PF team B in all but name, playing for team A to win and to have legitimacy, has become the greatest obstacle in the nation’s fight to end the curse of rigged elections and bad governance.

Indeed, the Zanu PF dictatorship has thrived precisely because the regime has managed to hide the dictatorship behind the facade Zimbabwe is a healthy and functioning democracy. It has Zanu PF team B masquerading as opposition. And millions of brain dead MDC/CCC supporters giving the regime legitimacy because they refuse to see the MDC/CCC leaders for whom they really are even in the face opposition’s failure to implement even one reform in 26 years.

Still, there is a limit to Zanu PF’s arrogance; I believe that limit has been reached. And by the same token, there is a limit to how much suffering the nation can be forced to endure before they rebel. The cup is full to overflowing. Change is coming, the writing is on the wall.

Zanu PF arrogance makes the regime believe it is invincible. It is not invincible!

No one owns Zimbabwe. No one is invincible! The mandate to govern must come from the people in a free, fair and credible election.

Zanu PF has landed the nation into this mess and we reward the regime by giving Mnangagwa 2 more years beyond the 10 year limit set in the constitution, his illegitimate rule since he was never ever elected by the people in a free, fair and credible election, and grant his Zanu PF cronies even more dictatorial powers. We really have a knack for shooting ourselves in the foot - allowing Zanu PF to get away with CAB3 will tantamount to shooting ourselves in the head!

It is truly refreshing to hear some one admitting that we, Africans, have let ourselves down for the continent's chronic problems instead of the usual bull from the Pan Africans and our treasonous leaders blaming the colonial powers!

For the full video see YouTube, FaceBook and X "Part 2 So why is it that Zimbabweans are seemingly incapable of learning from the past?"

"8 out of 10 Zimbabweans approve of CAB3" said Isaac Makomichi.

Nonsense! Where did you get that figure when the 2023 elections were rigged and Zanu PF went on to blatantly rig the constitution amendment process too!

There are unjust laws just as there are unjust men. When confronted with an unjust law, we all have a sacred duty to break that law before it breaks us all. CAB3 is an obnoxious piece of trash and we must ignore it. It is null and void.

Zimbabweans must double, triple their preparatory work for the 2028 (YES 2028 and not 2030) Presidential and Parliamentary Elections to make sure they are free, fair and credible. We must finally cure ourselves of the curse of rigged elections and bad governance.

If the 2028 elections are rigged or worse still cancelled then there will be consequences! Enough is enough of this bull!

“When you write your articles half the times l have noticed you just deploy your mastery in the queen's language but less or never deploy your mind on the matter ..you write without your thinking cap on... typically like a house negro!”

If you are a genius “with the mastery of the queen ’s language and a stict on being relevant then why have you said nothing on the subject matter raised?

I am not as competent as you in English or any other language but was clear, very specific and precise as to what I was talking about here Zanu PF leaders who think they are invincible. So why have you failed to say anything of the subject matter?

So I am a “house negro” because I have dared to express my views. No doubt you do not believe these are my views; I must be regurgitating what the white master told me to say.

You are just a village idiot full of shit masquerading as a genius. Your black inferiority complex is so deeply enshrined into your DNA you see any black person who dares to hold a different view to yours as subhuman, a “house negro”.

I have always reject the white supremacists’ arrogance of judging a fellow human being subhuman on the basis of the colour of one’s skin. I reject with the same contempt the blacks who judge a fellow human being subhuman because they dared to asset their right to think for themselves, right or wrong!

Reentech you are a village idiot, I have told you that before and will tell again. I will never ever be intimidated into silence by a village idiot! Never!

Still, you cannot deny that Zanu PF thugs have managed to make all our lives miserable including you! When you leave your air-conditioned and very comfortable office, driving in your posh car, etc., etc. you still have to dodge the potholes. Hauna “kufizura muvengi”!

Guess what? You ain’t seen nothing yet! Zanu PF is going to make all our lives hell on earth, especially now the regime has even more dictatorial powers, thanks to CAB3!

“Kufizura muvengi!” Yeah right! By the end of this year, 2026, you will be singing something else as the reality of vision 2030 as a mirage dawns on the nation.

Nelson Chamisa was right to say one of the reason why Zimbabwe is a failed state is "the lack of quality leaders!" A problem he has clearly failed to "fix"!

Chamisa took over the leadership of MDC/CCC in 2018 following the death of Morgan Tsvangirai. 8 years later Zanu PF is still able to blatantly rig elections the very thing Chamisa himself said would not happen. He even evoked the name of God Almighty!

Mnangagwa too has acknowledged that the lack of quality leaders was a problem. When he took over the leadership of Zanu PF in 2017 he changed the leadership and even insisted in call his administration the Second Republic, a New Dispensation. And yet nothing changed, the country economic and political decline continued.

Both Mnangagwa and Chamisa changed nothing because they are just as rotten as the political system itself that produced them. No meaningful change will happen until we reform the whole system. We must drain the sewage pond and only then can we expect to catch quality fish!

With respect, the argument that CAB3 is “null and void” simply because one disagrees with it does not make it so. Constitutional amendments must be assessed on the basis of the Constitution, the law, and the proper parliamentary and public processes—not political emotion or unverified assertions.

The claim that “8 out of 10 Zimbabweans” support CAB3 may certainly be questioned, and anyone making such a statistic should provide the methodology and evidence behind it. But equally, allegations that the 2023 elections or the constitutional amendment process were “rigged” should be supported by credible evidence rather than presented as established fact.

Zimbabwe belongs to all of us. We can disagree strongly on CAB3 while respecting the constitutional institutions and the leadership of the country. If there are genuine legal or constitutional defects in CAB3, the proper response is to challenge them through lawful democratic and judicial processes.

We should also be careful with calls to “ignore” laws. In a constitutional democracy, citizens have the right to challenge unjust laws, advocate for reform and peacefully express their opposition—but deliberately undermining the rule of law can ultimately hurt the very democracy we seek to protect.

Let us debate CAB3 seriously, defend our positions with facts, and prepare for 2028 with a commitment to peaceful, credible and constitutional politics. Zimbabwe needs responsible citizens on all sides—not political confrontation that puts the country at risk.”

SADC and AU election observers condemned the 2023 elections as flawed and illegal.

“Conclusion 13.3

The SEOM (SADC Election Observer Mission) noted that, as detailed in sections 6 and 7 of this report, some aspects of the Harmonised Elections fell short of the requirements of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, the Electoral Act, and the SADC Principles and Guidelines Governing Democratic Elections (2021),” stated the SEOM report.

The report was widely circulated back in 2023, if you did not believe it then you will not believe it now. And so I will not waste time on that point.

CAB3 is an unjust law imposed on a nation by an illegitimate regime that rigged elections. CAB3 will be ignored and the nation will prepare for free, fair and credible presidential and parliamentary elections in 2028. 2028 not 2030!

If Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF cronies think they can extend their illegitimate rule using an illegally imposed law then they must know there will be consequences!

Mnangagwa was warned ED2030 Agenda was ill advised and he refused to listen. By signing CAB3 Mnangagwa crossed the point of no return and now he is a sitting duck like Donald Trump. He has lost the Iran war and is too proud to admit it!!

"I have one genuine question to ask about CAB3

Among poor equipment in hospitals, low income, inflation

Is it really true that the most pressing issues for majority of citizens is to extend life of parliament or presidential term limit?

If not then to whom is CAB 3 a critical issue requiring a fast track amendment of constitution?"

Indeed, there are drugs in our hospitals, education has all but collapsed with 3% "O" level pass rates, etc.. because the nation has been stuck with a corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship for 46 years. Zanu PF has rigged elections to stay in power. CAB3 gives Mnangagwa and his cronies even more dictatorial powers, to drag the nation even deeper into the abyss.

Enough is enough! CAB3 is an obnoxious piece of bulls**t. and must be treated with the contempt it rightly deserves!

As more and more Zimbabweans wake up to the reality that vision 2030 is a lie they will not accept the nonsense of having to wait until 2030 to finally get rid of this corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship!

The penny has finally dropped in Eddie Cross' empty head that corruption under Mnangagwa has gone into overdrive. "It probably exceeds the national budget!" he admitted.

Mnangagwa is corrupt, incompetent and na murderous thug the real surprise is that Eddie Cross refused to open his eyes and see it, especially after the 2017 military coup.

"Taking power in Zimbabwe is not a straight forward issue" he stubbornly maintained. Of course, he is lying because he should know by now that MDC leaders had the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms to end the Zanu PF dictatorship especially during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. They failed to implement even one token reform because Mugabe bribed them.

Eddie Cross must not wait until he is on his deathbed to tell the truth about MDC/CCC leaders selling out. The nation needs the truth now if we are ever going to end the curse of rigged elections and bad governance!

“46 Years After Independence the Zimbabwe Mnangagwa gave us!" mourned Hopewell Chin’ono in a video showing a long convoy of heavy, heavy duty lories stuck on Gokwe to Binga Road. The lories are carrying mineral oar for export. The convoy was stuck because one of the lorries had failed to negotiate a large pothole in the middle of the road.

So what has Mnangagwa given the nation? The accelerated looting of the nation's resources. Contrary to many repeated claims that Zimbabwe had banned the export of unprocessed mineral wealth, the export of mineral oar has gone into overdrive! And the regime has given us roads that are now impassable. If a heavy, heavy duty lorry cannot pass what more a private vehicle!

It should be noted here that Hopewell Chin'ono was one of Mnangagwa's cheer leaders. The renowned international journalist and film maker had overlooked Mnangagwa's track record as a corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous thug because "extended his rural village stand to facilitate his Boer Goat project!"

So now the nation is stuck with a murderous thugs in State House all for a piece of goat meat! Unbelievable!

“Our mandate was never to help ZANU PF manage the crises they created.”

You are 100% correct, it was not MDC leaders’ mandate to help Zanu PF manage the crisis they created.” What matters here is that MDC did just that - help Zanu PF manage the crisis by failing to implement even one token democratic reform in 5 years of the GNU.

Morgan Tsvangirai & co. sold out. If MDC leaders had implemented the reforms, at least many of the key ones; Zimbabwe would not be the failed state failing to do something as simple and basic as holding free, fair and credible elections!

The 2008 to 2013 GNU were not perfect, there were many loose ends. Still the GNU would have delivered many key changes. The GNU was a failure because MDC leaders sold out and not because GNU, per se, are unworkable!

46th Zimbabwe Defence Forces Day celebrations. The celebrations are being held under the theme, "Guaranteeing Peace and Stability for the Attainment of Vision 2030.”

Why does Mnangagwa need the Army, Police and CIO to "guarantee peace and stability for the attainment of vision 2030"? The state security institutions have their well defined roles to maintain law and order, protecting the people and their property, etc. It does not include defending a specific government policy - attainment of vision 2030.

Even if Zanu PF was to fail to deliver vision 2030 it is not none of the security services' responsibility to hold the regime to account. It is the people who must hold the regime to account and the Army, Police, etc. are there to ensure the people are not denied their rights and freedoms including the right to peaceful protests.

Zanu PF deployed the Police, CIO and, no doubt, the Army to stop the 31 July 2026 Peaceful Protest.

The Greek Philosopher Plato said, "Tyrants, despite their power, are not truly free. They are slaves to their own fears, surrounded by enemies, real and imagined, unable to trust anyone or live without constant anxiety."

Mnangagwa is a tyrant and his worst fear is the people discovering vision 2030 is a mirage and demanding change. The Army must not be used by the regime to deny the people's right to hold the tyrant to democratic account!

Zimbabwe Light said...

"Wilbert, you accurately diagnose the symptom, but you completely miss the disease.

You say the 2008–2013 GNU failed because MDC leaders "sold out." But why did they sell out so easily?

Because the GNU was engineered by ZANU-PF specifically to co-opt them. Many in the MDC leadership carried ZANU-PF political DNA. They didn't see the GNU as a battleground for systemic reform; they saw it as a welcome party to the patronage table. The moment ZANU-PF handed them state mansions, ministerial cars, and business perks, they collapsed.

This is where your logic becomes dangerous: believing that a GNU is workable "if only we have better leaders" is the exact delusion ZANU-PF relies on to set the next trap.

You cannot achieve democratic reform in a power-sharing arrangement with a militarized junta that holds the guns, the courts, and the electoral machinery. ZANU-PF does not share power; it absorbs and corrupts its partners.

The GNU didn't fail just because individuals were weak. It failed because you cannot reform a fascist syndicate from inside its stomach.

ZEM’s stance remains absolute: No GNU. No deal. We dismantle, we do not coexist.

— Devine Mafa | ZEMIA ECONOMIC MOVEMENT."

So are you saying MDC leaders did not sell out because they have Zanu PF DNA. I agree on the latter, they have Zanu PF DNA. But where they got their sell out DNA from is not the issue.

The real issue here is that MDC leaders sold out with disastrous consequence to the whole nation. That is the cancer killing the nation, everything else are opportunistic ailments!

Today is Defence Forces Day in Zimbabwe. It is a holiday on which Zimbabweans are supposed to celebrate their military.

But unfortunately, unlike in other countries where citizens hug soldiers in the streets in recognition of their service to the nation, Zimbabweans hate and are terrified of their military because it is partisan and has killed innocent citizens when they tried to exercise their democratic rights.

It was the Zimbabwean military that was used to stop the change of government in 2008 when ZANUPF and Robert Mugabe lost the elections. As you will see and hear in this video, Mugabe himself acknowledged this.

It was the Zimbabwean military that went into the streets in 2018 and killed innocent citizens in front of international news television cameras.

The regime brought in former South African president Kgalema Motlanthe to sanitise the killings when he chaired a commission of inquiry whose recommendations are now gathering dust on President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s bookshelf.

It was the military that Mnangagwa used again in 2019 to kill citizens when Zimbabweans protested against fuel price hikes. It is the same military that the regime has used to keep citizens oppressed while industrial-scale looting takes place, underpinned by misgovernance, corruption and nepotism.

The tragedy is that an institution that should belong to every Zimbabwean, regardless of political affiliation, has been turned into an instrument for protecting those in power rather than protecting the people.

A national army should defend the Constitution, the country and its citizens. It should never become the armed wing of a political party or the last line of defence for a corrupt political establishment.

That is why it is very difficult to see what ordinary Zimbabweans can genuinely celebrate on this day when the institution it represents has repeatedly been used to kill Zimbabwean citizens while protecting corrupt rule and oppression, something that Mugabe himself acknowledges in this video.

A military earns the respect of its citizens by protecting them, not by making them afraid of the uniform that is supposed to protect them.
A military that terrorises the people it is supposed to protect has nothing to celebrate."

The regime was never held to account and as long as it believes it will get away with the violence the shooting will never stop. The nation has lived looking up the business end of the gun ever since the country’s independence in 1980. We need to put an end to this here and now!

@ Mnangagwa

He challenged senior military leadership to cultivate an innovation-driven defence ecosystem capable of developing resource-efficient systems and strengthening combat readiness without compromising the professional ethos and character of the ZDF.

The President also highlighted the importance of a highly trained and disciplined military, commending ongoing training programmes for producing personnel who are patriotic, professional, loyal and capable of sustaining the reputation of the country’s defence establishment.

Vision 2030 is a mirage just as Mugabe’s Gutsa ruzhinji of the 1980 was a mirage. It took many people 10 year or more to realise gutsa ruzhinji was a mirage, many people can already see that vision 2030 is a mirage.

The economy is in total meltdown and after 8 years of Second Republic the situation is worse than during Mugabe’s days. Corruption was bad during Mugabe’s days has gone into overdrive. The “O” pass rate has dropped to 3% proof our education service has all but collapsed.

Of course, Mnangagwa knows that vision 2030 is a mirage and hence the reason way he has pushed hard to have CAB3 passed a.s.a.p. and deployed the state security with instructions to shoot to kill. He knows as more and more Zimbabweans realise vision 2030 is a mirage, there will be public unrest guaranteed!

You can con a blind man that the sadza was not cooked with white maize and not a mixture with cheap yellow maize. However you cannot con him there is no hot chilli in his relish!

The people of Zimbabwe are living the consequences of Zimbabwe a failed state and no amount of cheap propaganda will make them believe Zimbabwe is 4 years away from being an upper middle income nation. The people know cowering down to the regime’s brutal oppression will not end the economic melt down or ease the nation’s suffering.

When face with the grime choice is either fight or suffer and die in silence like sheep; human beings have always opted to die fighting. The people of Zimbabwe are facing that grime choice today! The fight is on!

@ Mafa

Wilbert, you are mistaking the poison for the person who swallowed it.

You say the "sellout" is the cancer. I am telling you that entering a GNU with a military junta IS the sellout.

The betrayal didn't start when they accepted the mansions and ministerial cars; the betrayal started the moment they agreed to share power with a regime that had just beaten, jailed, and murdered citizens to stay in power.

Here is why your logic falls apart when you say a GNU could work with "better leaders":

1. Power is not shared in a GNU; it is trapped. In 2008, ZANU-PF kept the army, the police, the courts, and the intelligence services, while giving the opposition the responsibility of fixing the ruined economy. Even if you put saints in those ministry seats, an "honest" opposition minister cannot pass a democratic law when a ZANU-PF general holds the gun over Parliament.
2. The structure dictates the outcome. When you enter a system designed by a fascist regime to survive, the system eats you. Expecting a "better leader" to enter a GNU and reform ZANU-PF is like looking for a "better driver" to drive off the exact same cliff.

By telling Zimbabweans that a GNU is workable if we just find leaders who won't "sell out," you are giving people false hope and setting them up to walk straight into the next ZANU-PF trap.

We don't need "better leaders" to negotiate a better seat at ZANU-PF's table. We need a movement that refuses to sit at their table at all.

No GNU. No deal. We dismantle, we do not coexist.

— Devine Mafa | ZEMIA ECONOMIC MOVEMENT”

I would like to blame the person who administered the poison for the victim’s death and not the poison itself, per se.

I am blaming the MDC leaders for sell out!
Are you suggesting that if there had been no GNU then all the democratic reforms would have been implemented? Who would have implemented the reforms?

The America & Israel war on Iran is a world away but here are two reasons why Zimbabweans must sit up and pay attention:

1) 1) The economic fallout of the Middle East war is the closure the Strait of Hormuz is cutting the supply of 25% of world oil, Liquified Petroleum Gas and fertiliser. This will push up the prices of everything and, if this continues, will result in world-wide economic collapse. When those in the developing world catch a cold, we in the development countries are coughing blood.

2) 2) Americans has a buffoon in White House and he has landed them in a serious mess. Zimbabweans have an even bigger buffoon in State House and boy are we in serious trouble!

When Mugabe said "I will keep my Zimbabwe” he meant it literally. Mugabe owned Zimbabwe and all the country’s human and material resources to dispose of as he and he alone saw fit.

In 2008 when the people rejected him and his Zanu PF regime in the nearest the nation had come to holding free, fair and credible elections, Mnangagwa and Chiwenga orchestrated the nefarious Operation Mavhotera Papi to wrestle power away from MDC and to punish the people for rejecting Zanu PF.

The "Unapologetic truth by Mugabe" in his signature 2002 UN Speech is not what he said but what he did not say. His war with the the British was phony, a smoke screen, to hide the real war of Zanu PF ridding roughshod over ordinary Zimbabweans denying them their freedoms, rights and human dignity!

SADC and AU condemned the Zimbabwe 2023 elections as "flawed and illegal" and we are paying dearly for it!

46 years after independence and in this day and age and we still fail to hold free, fair and credible elections. No wonder we a failed nation!

Well here is something we can do for ourselves and change the nation for the good of us all for all time - implement the bloody democratic reforms and cure ourselves of the curse of rigged election and bad governance!

Hurumende yava ED Mnangagwa iri kuti uyai tigare pasi tidzinge nhamo mumusha, tidzinge nhamo mu Zimbabwe.

Famba nedzinodhonza , usasaririre, famba ne Zimbabwe nyika yako.

The only honest thing here is the acknowledgement by the regime that unemployment remains high and so is the suffering of the masses.

The question the regime is refusing to acknowledge is that why have many Zimbabweans found opportunities to operate thriving business outside the country?

"We own the Police, the Army, we own everything! We are the only party that can determine who builds a road!" boasted Mnangagwa. And there lays the reason why the nation is a failed state - we are a pariah state!

THE BUFFOONS BELIEVE THEY KNOW BEST! THEY HAVE FAILED TO GOVERN AND WE ARE STUCK WITH THEM - TRAGEDY OF BEING GOVERNED BY BUFFOONS!

Whilst one is tempted to welcome the condemnation of the demolition of houses up and down the country by Zimbabwe's oppressive authorities. Still one has to be very careful whose company they keep!

Temba Mliswa has come out with all guns blazing condemning the demolition of houses in Harare. "All leaders, including the President, are accountable!" fumed Mliswa. It turns out that VP Chiwenga is the one pushing the Council to demolish the houses.

So this is just another Zanu PF factional war and Mliswa is shedding buckets of hypocritical crocodile tears!

So Temba Mliswa is fuming and frothing, demanding for democratic accountability over the demolition of 50 or so houses but said nothing when Mnangagwa and Chiwenga orchestrated the 2008 Operation Mavhotera Papi, the electoral coup, to wrestle power from MDC and, worst of all, to punish the whole nation for having dared to reject Zanu PF in the country's first and only free and fair election.

Mliswa was a senior Zanu PF leader and played a leading role in the wanton violence of Operation Mavhotera Papi; millions were internally displaced, hundreds of thousands were beaten and/or raped and over 500 were murdered. No one has ever held to account! Where was Mliswa then!!!!

H.E. President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has arrived in Durban, South Africa, ahead of the 46th Ordinary Summit of SADC Heads of State and Government.
The SADC region is moving from potential to production, from resources to value addition, and from commitments to results.

SADC must be reminded that Zanu PF rigged 2023 elections and rigged the constitutional amendment bill, CAB3. The regime was allowed to get away with the rigged elections but must not be allowed to get away with CAB3.

The 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections must go ahead as planned and this time the elections must be free, fair and credible!

SADC Heads of Government are meeting in South Africa 16 -17 August. March and March and other SA groups plan to hold protest to remind the SADC leaders and the world at large that Mnangagwa rigged 2023 elections and per se is illegitimate.

Worse still, he went on to rig the constitution amendment process to pass the Constitution Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB3), extending Mnangagwa's stay in power by 2 years beyond the maximum 10 years stipulated in the constitution.

The people of Zimbabwe must ignore CAB3. They must demand that 2028 presidential and parliament must go ahead as expected and, this time, they must be FREE< FAIR AND CREDIBLE!

Part 1 of 2

Alexander Noyes, a visiting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania's Penn Washington, has urged the United States Congress and other Western governments to increase pressure on Mnangagwa.

Writing in the Journal of Democracy, Noyes described the developments as "a dangerous power grab" and argued that Western governments should consider targeted sanctions if the Government proceeds with further attempts to extend Mnangagwa's tenure.

"Because the United States under the Trump administration abruptly abandoned the decades-long, bipartisan consensus on global democracy promotion, Europe and the United Kingdom, in particular, will need to rally Western democracies and threaten the reimposition of the targeted sanctions that were lifted after Mugabe's fall," Noyes argued.

He also called on supporters of democracy in the US Congress to tighten existing measures and encourage America's allies to follow suit.

Noyes argued that a combination of domestic pressure, divisions within the military and coordinated international pressure could force Mnangagwa to reconsider the constitutional changes or agree to submit them to a referendum.

He warned that Zimbabwe's military remains the "ultimate arbiter of power", while criticising the international community's response to the events surrounding the 2017 removal of former President Robert Mugabe.

"Regional and international actors dropped the ball on their response to Zimbabwe's 2017 military coup," he wrote.

"After decades of Mugabe's misrule and toxic outside relations, they nearly unanimously refused to call the coup a coup, and did not sanction the coupmakers or push for a transitional government."

The calls come against a backdrop of significant changes in the international sanctions regime against Zimbabwe.

The European Council renewed its arms embargo on Zimbabwe in February 2026 until 20 February 2027, while lifting remaining travel bans and asset freezes. The EU's restrictive measures now consist solely of an arms embargo.

The United States, meanwhile, terminated its longstanding Zimbabwe sanctions programme in March 2024, replacing it with targeted Global Magnitsky sanctions against Mnangagwa and 10 other individuals over allegations involving corruption and serious human rights abuses.

The return of Donald Trump to the White House has subsequently introduced another dimension to US-Zimbabwe relations, including an 18% reciprocal tariff imposed on Zimbabwean goods in June 2026.

Noyes' proposal for renewed pressure would therefore represent another significant shift in Western policy towards Harare.

The constitutional changes have also fuelled speculation about the succession battle within Zanu-PF.

Part 2 of 2

The constitutional changes have also fuelled speculation about the succession battle within Zanu-PF.

Political observers have linked efforts to extend Mnangagwa's tenure to 2030 or beyond to attempts to prevent his deputy, Constantino Chiwenga, from succeeding him.

Mnangagwa previously said he was a constitutionalist and would persuade members of Zanu-PF to abandon campaigns to extend his tenure.

He later described the so-called 2030 agenda as a collective decision of the ruling party.

CAA3 is currently being challenged before Zimbabwe's Constitutional Court, meaning the legal status and long-term political implications of the amendments remain subject to judicial scrutiny.

Zimbabweans must just ignore the obnoxious CAB3 and all it entails. The nation must double its preparation for 2028 Presidential and Parliamentary elections. No stone must be left unturned to make sure the election process is free, fair and credible and the legitimacy of the result government is beyond reproach.

If the 2028 elections do not happen then Zimbabwe will have no legitimate government post September 2028. There will be consequences for that!

There is a symbiotic relationship between African Leaders and mafia style gangsters; the latter carry out the wholesale looting of the nation's resources and share it out and the leaders provide the state protection to the gangsters.

The nation benefit very little from the looted wealth and the looters and their handlers waste the loot on luxuries and, worst of all, the leaders use the looted wealth to bankroll their vote rigging juggernaut.

The leader and mafia gangster relationship has often ended with the later using the detailed knowledge of the corrupt dealings to blackmail the leaders.

"NDAKACHIBATA KUTI BVIII!" (I HAVE HIM BY THE BALLS!) boasted Chivhayo when asked about his usual influence over Mnangagwa. Chivhayo and his "zviganada" friends sponsored the recent CAB3 and signify they control of Zanu PF and the government itself.

His Excellency President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has recommended the following 10 individuals for Senate appointments:

 1. Cde Jabulani Sibanda
 2. Cde Mary Mliswa
 3. Cde Nokhutula Matsikinyere
 4. Cde Kudakwashe Tagwirei
 5. Cde Godwills Masimirembwa
 6. Cde Lucy Chitaga
 7. Cde General Gibson Mashingaidze
 8. Cde Makosini Hlongwane
 9. Cde Brilliant Dube
10. Cde Irene Mutumba

These appointments form part of the process of implementing what we voted for in CAB3, now known as CAA3. Shumba munogona as we march towards Vision 2030.

So how many MPs and senators does President Mnangagwa directly and indirectly appoint? So before the first ballot is cast, Zanu PF has10% or so MPs and senators already in the bag! CAB3 is an obnoxious pies of law and the only response is to break that s**t.

Zimbabweans must not only demand the 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections but insist they are free, fair and credible. And finally cure ourselves of the curse of rigged elections and bad governance!

If cabinet has already accepted that Kariba Ferry accident was caused by human error by the captain of the boat and the ferry had a fitness certificate. Then why is cabinet asking for an investigation?

It is foolish that cabinet should accept that ferry had a fitness certificate, etc. BEFORE the investigation was carried out. Why bother with the investigation if you have already accepted the details as established facts? Unless the investigations are to bury the truth and or find scapegoats.

The investigation into this incident, like so many others, should be carried out by independent body for the primary purpose of establishing the truth and to make sure lessons are learned. But when the the nation is stuck with a regime that is NOT accountable to the people the truth and lessons learned are ignored. The only thing Zanu PF cares about is staying in power by hook and by crook!.

"I think content creators must stop wasting our time on these issues. Why do we always say unrealistic things, distracting people from real issues of working for their families and building their country?

The peace in Zimbabwe is currently amazing, yet some people are busy making noise and have been doing so for the past 8 years since 2018 with nothing to show for it - and the country marches forward as others make noise🤷🏽‍♂️🤣🤣🤣."

In a country where 49% of the people are living in abject poverty and rising, education has all but collapsed with 3% “O” pass rate, etc. then only a moron will believe the present system in working!

Address the issues raised, did Mnangagwa rig the 2023 elections, etc.?

The people of Zimbabwe to the last man and woman should have socially and politically Mnangagwa, Chiwenga and many of the other key players like Jabulani Sibanda for the barbarism of 2008 Operation Mavhotera Papi. Alas! We did nothing and the two have gone on to occupy the highest offices in the land and Sibanda has just been appointed Senator following the passing of CAB3!

Zimbabweans must laser focus of breaking CAB3 a.s.a.p. before the obnoxious law breaks the nation. And what better starting point than refusing to accept the law is lawful. The nation must demand that 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections must go ahead as expected before CAB3. This time the nation must leave no stone unturned to ensure the elections are free, fair and credible!

Those who will not learn from the past are doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over again. We failed to ostracise Mnangagwa for 2008 Operation Mavhotera Papi we must ostracise him for CAB3!!!!

"Austracised" is a common misspelling of the word ostracized, which means to shut someone out, banish them, or refuse to include them in a group. It comes from ancient Greece where citizens would vote to banish someone they felt was a threat.

Mnangagwa, Chiwenga, Jabulani Sibanda, etc. orchestrate 2008 electoral coup Operation Mavhotera Papi, to wrestle power from MDC and to punish the people for rejecting the Zanu PF dictatorship. The nation should have ostracised them all. We did not and the thugs have gone on to stage 2017 military coup and occupy the highest offices in the land.

Mnangagwa has just signed into law CAB3 to grant himself and his Zanu PF cronies even greater dictatorial powers. The nation must ostracise Mnangagwa & co. for imposing CAB3 and what better way than refusing to accept this obnoxious law is legal.

Zimbabweans must demand 2028 presidential and parliamentary election must go ahead as expected before CAB3. This time the nation must leave no stone unturned to ensure the elections are free, fair and credible!

There will be consequences if Zanu PF fails to hold 2028 elections on the basis of CAB3, a law imposed by an illegitimate regime and through an amendment process which the regime's own Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission condemned as flawed and illegal!

Mnangagwa signed the Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 (CAB in July and has started implementing the obnoxious law. He has appointed the 10 senators. A look at all the 10 senators and their political records leaves one in no doubt the senators are there to promote the glory of Caesar, Czar Emerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, at the expense of the good of Rome.

The pushback against CAB3 is to reject it. This is an obnoxious law imposed by an illegitimate regime that blatantedly rigged the amendment process too.

Zimbabweans must demand 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections must got ahead which CAB3 seek to postpone. No stone must be left unturned to ensure 2028 elections are free, fair and credible.

If Zanu PF fails to hold 2028 elections then the regime must face the consequences cancelling elections on the basis of an illegitimate regime that imposed an illegitimate law!

"The Justice Tendai Uchena Commission investigated the sale of State land in and around urban areas, including Harare. Its findings have enormous implications for how land was allocated, sold and administered. The High Court has already ruled that withholding the report violated citizens’ constitutional right to access information." wrote Engineer Jacob Kudzayi Mutisi.

The regime is refusing to release the report because its does not want the truth to be known and much less to be held to account! So far the regime has got away with this because the people themselves have failed in their sacred duty to hold leaders to account!

"release the Uchena Report!" The voice of one crying in the wilderness!

“I am part of a proud history of forming strong movements which have defeated dictatorship to the point of them now attempting to ban elections!” Nelson Chamisa. Just another idiotic lie completely divorced from the real world!

Zanu PF has blatantly rigged elections and got away with it precisely because MDC/CCC leaders have not only sold out on implementing reforms but have participated in flawed elections to give the regime legitimacy all out of greed! Mnangagwa has just imposed CAB3 on the nation to give himself and his Zanu PF cronies even more dictatorial powers.

Zanu PF is stronger now than ever! So what exactly have these "strong movements" accomplish?

MDC/CCC leaders are Zanu PF team B in all but name, playing for team A to win and to have legitimacy. The failure by millions of Zimbabweans to comprehend this reality is why Zimbabwe is a failed state! And, until they wake up and open their eyes, Zimbabwe will remain a failed state.
