Zimrights Director Arrested: Warning Of Orgy To Come After Referendum!

“ZimRights director Okay Machisa was on Monday arrested and charged by the police in Harare for allegedly conspiring to ‘commit voter registration fraud and publishing or communicating falsehoods’.” S W radio Africa reported.

Stories of Zanu PF intimidation and violence are coming thick and fast. Once the party get the Copac draft constitution approved and out of the way the flood gates of Zanu PF orgy of violence will be thrown wide open.

All these events are pointing to one thing and one thing only that Zanu PF is gearing up for the repeat of the 2008 orgy of political intimidation and violence exposing Prime Minister Tsvangirai and his MDC friends that they will somehow still implement the democratic reforms necessary for free and fair elections. Time to have these reforms implemented is certainly running out and, worse still, there is no political commitment on the part of Mugabe and Zanu PF to have these reforms implemented.
The time has come for Zimbabweans to now accept the reality that this dysfunctional GNU will never ever deliver free and fair elections and start searching for the way forward. This country should demand the setting up a new body that will deliver the reforms necessary for free and fair elections and not waste one more dollar and one more day on this planned referendum on the Copac rubbish much less another bloody election process!

Zimbabwe’s Chief Justice, Godfrey Chidyausiku, has decried high level corruption in the judiciary, police and prison services and urged combined efforts to weed out the malaise.

Coming from someone who considers himself a "learned Judge" this is lamentable not for its insight but for being so naive! At the height of Zimbabwe's economic meltdown in 2008 the country's judges were receiving fully furnished apartments complete with plasma TV, new cars, etc., for example. Did the Judge think Mugabe was doing all this out of the goodness of his tyrannical heart?
Are we expected to believe that the Judge has thought nothing of the reality in Zimbabwe that as a critic or political opponent of Mugabe you will be denied bail and sentenced to very long jail terms. On the other hand if you are a Zanu PF loyalist, you will walk scot-free regardless the seriousness of the case against you.

Most senior members of Zimbabwe’s judiciary service benefited from the chaotic farm seizures. On paper the regime still maintains it was the landless peasants who benefited but the reality on the ground tells a different story. The judiciary has an invested interest in maintain Mugabe and Zanu PF in power at all cost; to protect their loot and their tarnished record.

There is nothing more annoying that a self-righteous hypocrite!

"We add our voice to those who are calling for free and fair elections that are held in a violence-free atmosphere," chief justice Godfrey Chidyausiku said. " "Whilst the courts stand ready to hear cases relating to the forthcoming elections, it is my fervent hope that litigation if any, relating to the running of and the results emerging from the polls, will be very little."
There real is nothing more obnoxious than a self-righteous hypocrite. Millions of Zimbabweans were beaten up and/or raped and over 500 were murdered in the three months of madness during the 2008 presidential run-off elections. Only a tiny minority of those responsible for all this orgy of violence have ever been arrested and brought before any court of law. Instead of being concerned about how the Police and Judiciary have let down the victims of the violence and its negative implications in creating and perpetuating this culture of political violence all the “learned” judge is concerned about is the trivial matter emerging from the polls. How obnoxious!
