Economic meltdown forces Mugabe to make embarrassing u-turn of his egotistic land issue!

Lands Minister Douglas Mombeshora has announced that the black farmers who benefited from the white farm seizure of the last 15 years only for most of the farms to be left fallow soon thereafter can now enter into “joint ventures” with the white farms.

There is still a lot of confusion as to what these joint ventures entail as recent as last month Mugabe was still wittering about no whites will be allowed to own land in Zimbabwe.

“But we need to see the contract before it is signed because we want to protect both parties and we encourage fair play, not manipulation of one party by the other,” explained the Minister. “It is not true to say that government ever disapproved contract-farming and joint ventures… what government didn’t approve of (and doesn’t allow) even now is sub-leasing of land.” Yes Minister it is as clear as mud!

The worsening economic situation is certainly working its magic, the 90% plus unemployment rate, the 16% or 2 million now living in abject poverty and all the other grim economic realities are force the regime to accept the stupidity of its own policies. There is not going to be a flood of white farmers signing these joint ventures because Zanu PF is notorious for say one thing today and something else tomorrow, especial Mugabe. The single most important thing here that the regime ditching its own flagship policies. It is great that this is happen when Mugabe is still alive, kicking and of sound mind; the tyrant, Mugabe, is eating humble pie in his own life time!

It is also important that the tyrant’s hard-line supporters like Minister Kasukuwere, on the indigenisation laws, and the war vet leaders like Joseph Chinotimba ans Jabulani Sibanda, on the land issue, who made names for themselves for their passionate support of these tyrant's racism and myopic policies witness the tyrant himself made the landmark U-turn on these policies.

Comrade Chinos and Sibanda, where are you now? You led the njambanja thugs in the countless white farm seizures with all that all-night drumming, lawless thuggery and, in many cases, wanton violence and murders. What do you say now about this about face U-turn by Mugabe on the one issue, above all others, has defined Mugabe and all he stood for as a black nationalist?

After all these years of Mugabe breathing fire on the land issue now it turns out that he did not mean anything he said, it was all hot air. The collapse of the country’s agricultural sector is the single biggest factor to cause the country’s economic collapse from which the economy has yet to recover. And it was all for no purpose other than to gratify a tyrant’s hot-air balloon ego.

Millions of Zimbabweans have had their lives turned up-side down causing heart-breaking suffering and hundreds of thousands of lives have been lost unnecessarily to gratify a totally misplace stupid ego! It sickens me just to think of it. How did we allow ourselves to get into this mess and, better still, we must not waste a day to end this madness!

Yes some of these Zanu PF cronies have been producing something on these farms; Grace Mugabe and Gono are two example. What we have to ask in these cases is at what cost? You may find that the nation has direct and indirectly subsidized Gushungo Diary for decades it would have been cheaper for the nation to pay Grace $2 million a year sit at home and let someone else run that farm! Such is the level of the corruption and waste we are dealing with here!

Police officers and members of Zimbabwe's secret service turned up at Anold Farm in Mazowe district, about 50 kilometres east of the capital Harare, forcing the residents to leave without notice.

Non-profit organization Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights said it dispatched a team of legal practi-tioners to Mazowe to help stop the "illegal evictions."

"We got a High Court order last year that bars anyone from evicting the affected families from their land without offering them alternative pieces of land," said one of the group's litigation officers, David Hofisi.

This madness is soon to end.

No one, absolutely no one is above the law and the nation has suffered greatly because Mugabe and all his cronies and thugs have become a law unto themselves to do as they pleased, take what they fancied and to ride rough shod over our rights and dreams without a care. Enough is enough, this madness must now end!

MDC committed collective suicide by failing to get even one democratic reform implemented and then would not pay heed to advice not to take part in the elections without the reforms. Mugabe carried out the coup de grace on Tsvangirai and MDC by blatantly rigging the 2013 elections and thus proving just how breathtakingly incompetent they are. SADC and all the donors who had supported MDC till then deserted them in droves leaving the dead to bury their dead.

MDC is dead and no amount of flogging will bring them to life!

"One would have expected the opposition to capitalize on the internecine fights in the ruling party to offer alternative ideas that galvanize citizens but internal fights have also weakened it," said the Zimbabwe Democracy Institute (ZDI), a Zimbabwe think tank led by Dr Pedzisai Ruhanya, in its report. "Unless it resolves its internal differences now the opposition is unlikely to regain its strength to mount a serious challenge in the 2018 election."

Well talk of the dead burying their dead; the MDC and the ZDI are both a waste of time and space. No amount of flogging will get one useful idea out of the ZDI.

If Zimbabweans are ever to get out of this political and economic hell-hole Mugabe land us in and Tsvangirai has done his bit to keep us stuck in then the nation must end it fixation with failed and incompetent leaders like Tsvangirai. He has already proven beyond all doubt that he is breathtakingly incompetent what else does he have to do to finally convince us that he will never get us out of this hole!?

Mr Tsvangirai told the media in Harare yesterday that stopping Zanu-PF must be a global cause.

"We have written to Sadc Heads of State warning them of a possible implosion in Zimbabwe," he said.

"Sadc and the AU must appreciate that the declining economic situation and the implosion in Zanu-PF as the party in government has far-reaching consequences for stability, democratisation and development in the region."

Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown is serious but what Tsvangirai is failing to accept is that no one in their right mind will ever take him or what he says seriously. What most Zimbabweans have failed to do is realise this simple fact.

Tsvangirai and his MDC friends have proven to be so incompetent SADC, AU and the interna-tional community at large have written them off as a complete waste of time.

The Zimbabwean people have failed to see Tsvangirai for the incompetent village idiot he is be-cause they have not bothered to ask themselves why Mugabe and Zanu PF found it so easy to rig the 2013 elections. If they were serious about solving the nation’s problems including the economic meltdown then they will demonstrate this by asking what happened in 2013. Until they do there is no hope of the same mistake will not be repeated as is shown by their continued support of the same failed MDC leaders.

SADC, AU and the international community will not help Zimbabwe end this economic and political nightmare until we Zimbabweans demonstrate to the world that we are now serious about finding a way out. By electing failed leaders like Tsvangirai, we are telling the world that we are not serious!

A meeting that was being addressed by Mashonaland East Minister of State Joel Biggie Matiza at Mbuya Nehanda hall in Marondera was disrupted by a group of Zanu-PF supporters on Thursday.

The supporters, who have been camped at the party's provincial headquarters for weeks, claimed they wanted to know Matiza's position within the party.

Matiza was appointed Minister of State last December, although he failed to make it into the Zanu-PF Central Committee.

As the economic meltdown starts to affect “All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful” the infighting in Zanu PF will become even more vicious! As long as Zanu PF re-main in power the economic meltdown will get worse and so too will the infighting. Zanu PF will be forced to step down one way or the other that is as certain as the sun rising tomorrow!

It says ZEC needs close to $281 million to prepare for and run the next election. But the report adds that this figure is provisional - because of the possibility of inflation and other factors, among them the diaspora vote.

"It is foreseen that the 2018 Election Budget will stem from government with additional support from donors. However, with inflation, changes in the electoral landscape, increases required in staffing allowances, diaspora voting and other such developments, it is unlikely that the budget will remain at the 2013 levels," says the report.

ZEC, as it is presently is not worthy of any support or taking seriously, if it failed to see the blatant vote rigging of 2013 how can it be trusted to do anything else! We want free, fair and credible elections and nothing short of that will do. The members of ZEC are the epitome of the three monkeys who see nothing, hear nothing and say nothing. We need human being in ZEC and not monkeys!

We need all the democratic reforms to be implemented first before 2018 and one of the reforms is to ensure that ZEC is run by humans and not monkeys!

GOVERNMENT has given Kadoma City Council management a week-long ultimatum to enforce best corporate governance systems and improve general service delivery or risk being fired.

Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs minister Faber Chidarikire and provincial administrator (PA) Christopher Shumba sounded the warning shots during their unannounced visit to the city on Wednesday where they witnessed first-hand the pothole-riddled roads, overflowing raw sewage, dry water taps, uncollected garbage and the squalor under which some residents were living.

It is all very well for them to fire the Councillors but who fires them for their failures?

THE cash-strapped Zimbabwean government, which has been struggling to pay civil servants’ salaries and bonuses on time and provide adequate social services, has bought new vehicles for senior members of the spy Central Intelligence Organisation at a cost of more than US$2 million, top government sources have revealed.
The expenditure comes at a time government is also shelling out cash to buy top-of-the-range vehicles for new ministers, appointed by President Robert Mugabe in December after he fired vice-president Joice Mujuru and 15 ministers deemed to be her allies as factionalism in Zanu PF raged.

The sources revealed that in addition to catering for the new ministers government also rewarded District Intelligence Officers (DIOs) last month with the 2013 version of the top-selling Toyota Corolla.

The vehicles are said to have been bought in South Africa at an average cost of US$25 000 each. There are about 60 DIOs, meaning government spent at least US$1,5 million on the vehicles.

The regime has given up on winning the support of ordinary citizen to stay in power and is having to rely on its political patronage system instead. As the nation cake shrinks those in the very top layer of the ruling elite are going to get a piece of the cake whilst the rest get nothing.

This cannot go on for much longer!

@ Afroboy

I have found that almost all the people who still support MDC do not have a clue what the democratic reforms are about. They talk of change but do not know what changes the nation needs.

The single most important issue in Zimbabwe politics in the last 15 years was democratic change; and yet millions do not have a clue. These people are expected to vote for the best party to deliver change and the do not know what they are voting for. Is it an wonder then that for 15 years we have wasted one chance after another to bring about real change.

People get the government and opposition they deserve we cannot say we do not deserve Zanu PF and MDC!

@ Sam Moyo

You have completely failed to understand the essence of the democratic reforms and it is clear you will never understand them. They are so simple and logic to some but clearly not to you.

Well it is not all who have eye and can see who perceive or ear and understand. The tragedy is that the country is stuck; what chance do we have of getting out of this mess when we have an electorate that is mentally blind and deaf!

@ Top S’gelekeqe

Well whatever glorious role Mugabe is supposed to have placed before independence has been completely wiped out by what the tyrant has done these last 35 years. It is not Chigwedere or some idiot who will write that history but those who have suffered under this tyranny. They will see to it that the truth is told!

@ Magraft angu

Your problem is that you can bear the thought that Tsvangirai and MDC are corrupt and incom-petent and so you are coming with all manner of excuses why they failed to get even one reform implemented.

"ZANU ichibvuma zvakadaro?" That is a stupid question to ask because Mugabe and Zanu PF did sign the GPA and the reforms were an integral part of the GPA. MDC's party was to propose the reforms, have parliament approve them (MDC had the majority in parliament) and dare Mu-gabe to refuse signing them. If he dared then it was SADC, as the guarantors of the GPA to force him to sign.

Mugabe never refused to sign any proposed reforms because MDC never submitted anything. Only a mentally sick person would want to blame Mugabe under these conditions.

Tsvangirai and his fellow MDC leaders have already proven beyond all reasonable doubt that they are corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent only supporters brought up to follow leaders blindly like sheep would still follow these village idiots!

It is no accident that Zimbabwe is stuck in this political and economic hell; as a nation we have more than our fair share of voters whose IQ is not far above that of an idiot! There is a mountain of evidence of to show MDC leaders are idiots but that has made no difference to those MDC wildebeest herd, no amount of reason or logic can penetrate that hermetically seal “damba” Trifoliate orange! Nothing! Of course we are stuck!

@ Sam Moyo

Nonsense the dictatorship like a hurricane does not rage on 24/7 for 34 years! The GNU gave the nation the chance to end the dictatorship by implementing the democratic reforms. MDC had five years to implement the reforms but failed to implement even one reform. Morons like you refuse to accept that Tsvangirai and others are village idiots that is all.

What people like me have been trying to get into that Trifoliate orange "damba" head of yours is that your refusal to accept that Tsvangirai is a village idiot does not change anything, he is a vil-lage idiot and, worse still, we will remain stuck in this hell as long as village idiots like him are in power.

It is no accident that Zimbabwe is in this hell; it is because as a nation we have more than our fair share of voters with damba instead of a human head with functioning brain.

Zimbabwe is not the only country in the world to have a dictatorship, Kenya had a dictatorship but it has ended and their last elections were free and fair because Odinga implemented the re-forms during their GNU! Tsvangirai did not implement any reform because he accepted the $4 million Highlands mansion bribe to kick the reforms into the tall grass and he did just that!

"Flying a kite in a hurricane," and you believe the hurricane was blowing none-stop for all the five years of the GNU? You really are a first class moron!

The indigenisation law is one of those political realities that Zanu PF is stuck with. A country can set cooperation tax, profit tax, capital tax, etc., etc. but to say an investor must take X as his/her local partner is unheard off and totally unworkable, particularly in country where one is certain to get a parasitic local partner.

The regime passed this law in 2007 out of political expedience and the law has haunted the regime ever since! Investors and donors alike have avoided investing in Zimbabwe; in 2014 the country got a misery 4% of foreign investment of what Mozambique got, for example.

Yes Minister Patrick Chinamasa promised to clarify the law, but everyone knows that his IQ is only a few points above that of a certified idiot. What clarification is there over a stupid law? Even if the regime scrapped the law tomorrow; he, of all people, should that will change nothing because investors will not trust the regime to honour the scrapping. This is a regime known for violating agreements signed with other nations and disre-garding its own constitution to rigging election; it will disregard the investor’s property rights without a moment’s hesitation!

Until that happens Zanu PF may just as well stick to Minister Christopher Mushowe’s line of “investors are lucky to get 49% shares” because no amount of tinkering with that stupid law will do.

The only way Zimbabwe will ever restore investor and donor confidence in the country is for the country to return to rule of law and that has to start with holding free, fair and credible elections. The economic meltdown brought on by the decades of zero investment, gross mismanagement and rampant corruption will force Zanu PF to step down and holding new elections.

According to the Sunday Mail, a crack team of police detectives appointed last month to investi-gate Mujuru and other senior ruling Zanu-PF officials accused of plotting to kill Mugabe had failed to find any incriminating evidence against the former vice president.

Mai Mujuru has lined up enough support for her to win the VP position so why would she plot to murder Mugabe? The tyrant needed an excuse for resorting to dirty tactics to stop her winning power.

There are 150 to 200 families who have been unlawfully evicted out of Manzou Farm, no one is denying that and we do not need proof of that. Grace Mugabe will now have her game reserve; no one is denying that is why the evictions were necessary and do not need proof of that. What the nation does not need is paid apologists like you asking for proof of everything that has happened just as a cover for the tyrannical regime’s lawlessness!
