"Spill Blood" Mujuru sweeps graves of 2008 murder victims whilst preparing to spill more blood! P Guramatunhu

The crass of Mai Mujuru’s political cynicism and hypocrisy is breath taking!

She was in Gutu, Masvingo province, where she visited and swept the graves of some MDC supporters who were murdered in the country’s wanton violence of the 2008 elections. She commiserated with the relatives of the dead and told them of her own late husband, General Solomon Mujuru, untimely death at the hands of the same murderous Zanu PF regime. What is shocking here was that she considers herself a victim of the regime instead of being one of the regime’s principles!

“Violence and atrocities in Zanu PF are carried out by a few well-trained people. The majority of party members would not even be in the know of what would be happening,” she said.

This is nonsense! Zanu PF has murdered over 30 000 innocent Zimbabweans in its 37 years in power in pursuance of the satanic objective of establishing and retaining the de facto one-party dictatorship. It is inconceivable that all these people would be murdered and no one would know! Even those who were murdered and their bodies were disposed of, still their relative know their loved ones disappeared.

Even if one was to accept that she did not know of the murders at the time; the question remains, what did she do when she finally learnt of the existence of these murderous squadrons? Nothing, that what!

Mai Mujuru knew of the Zanu PF vote rigging and sponsored political violence and said nothing because it all served her selfish political interests of staying in power. She was in power for 34 long years thanks to Zanu PF’s ruthless imposition of the no-regime-change mantra!

It was only after she was booted out of Zanu PF and was desperate to get back on the gravy train that she suddenly remembered the victims of Zanu PF’s violent past. She, cynically, swept for the dead whilst plotting the death of new victims!

It is no secret that Mai Mujuru has been wooing war veteran thugs like Jabulani Sibanda to join her NPP. The same murderous thugs who shed the blood of the victims whose graves she swept. The rat race is on who Sibanda and the rogue war veterans will be working for the 2018 elections.

MDC-T VP Nelson Chamisa is also actively wooing the same disgruntled rogue war veterans like Sibanda to join MDC-T. Chamisa has promised the war veterans, an MDC-T government would pay them the allowance the Zanu PF government is failing to pay. An MDC government has also promised the securocrats top brass would all keep their jobs and generous salary and allowances.

Both Mujuru and her NPP and Tsvangirai and his MDC-T are itching to contest next year’s elections although not even one reforms was implemented since the last rigged elections. They know Zanu PF will rig 2018 elections just as easily as the regime rigged the 2013 election and, if push comes to shove, will resort to the same violence as happened in 2008.

“We will protect the voter and defend the vote!” Is the new slogan in the opposition camp of whom Mai Mujuru and her NPP and Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC-T are the dominant players.

When the wanton violence broke out in 2008, Tsvangirai made a mad dash for cover in the Netherlands Embassy whilst the rest of the MDC leaders went into hiding within Zimbabwe and beyond. They left povo to face the music of all Zanu PF thugs could dish out alone. Millions were harassed, beaten and/or raped. Over 500 were murdered in cold blood!

Mai Mujuru’s liberation war name is “Teurai Rope” (Spill Blood). She did not get the name for her good looks, she did spill blood during the war of liberation and, as we know, played her part in spilling even more blood after independence. She is desperate to get back on the gravy train, so desperate is she, she has no qualms spill even more fresh blood just to get back into power.

It must be made emphatically clear here and now there is no excuse for anyone in the opposition camp to contest next year, 2018, elections. Mai Mujuru, Morgan Tsvangirai and all the other opposition politicians know that not even one of the democratic reforms agreed after the 2008 elections as necessary to stop Zanu PF rigging elections have been implemented. They know without the reforms there is no way the next elections will be peaceful, free, fair and credible.

Yet Mai Mujuru, Tsvangirai all the other opposition politicians are all tripping over each other to contest the flawed elections for three reasons:

1)    They know Zanu PF will rig the elections to win the presidency and the two-thirds majority but will also allow the opposition to win some seats, give-away seats to encourage the opposition to contest the elections and thus give the process some modicum of legitimacy. It is these few seats that the opposition are after!

“The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition was that both MDCs couldn’t now do the obvious – withdraw from the elections,” explained David Coltart in his book as to why MDC contested the flawed elections in 2013.

“The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility.”

2)    Mai Mujuru & co. are so desperate to get back on the gravy train they do not care that their taking part in the elections is giving the flawed and illegal electoral process legitimacy and thus help perpetuating the dictatorship.

3)    And, most important of all, they do not care that by contesting the flawed elections they are putting the security and even lives of povo at risk and, to add insult to injury, are closing the door to political change. With no political change, there can be no meaning economic recovery and thus an end to the economic hardship of 90% unemployment, millions living in abject poverty, etc

Germany has reportedly demanded compensation for land seized from its citizens during Zimbabwe’s controversial land reforms, saying this was “an urgent and important issue”.
According to New Zimbabwe.com, Germany’s ambassador to Zimbabwe Thorsten Hutter maintained that the issue of compensation was part of the re-engagement dialogue between the southern African country and the European Union.

Zimbabwe will never return to respecting the rule of law until the country has free, fair and credible elections because that is the basis of Zanu PF’s continued arrogance and contempt of what everyone else says much less what the ordinary Zimbabwean, who have no political voice to be heard, say.

Chiwundura by election voting set for 15 July to fill the seat left by the death of Kizito Chivamba with nomination fixed for 26 th May 2017.

Well there is the challenge for those claiming the grand coalition of opposition parties it the silver bullet to win the election and that they can "Defend the voters and protect the vote!" Having signed the MOU on coalition building this is a chance to work together and show the nation this is not just empty talk of useless busy bodies with nothing better to do.

No that it is no secret that MDC-T and all the other MDC factions are going to contest next year's elections they have no excuse for not contesting the by-election too!

"This is a sign that things have now changed," Mujuru said as she referred to Sikhala presence at the venue of the rally where streams of raw sewage were flowing.

"We saw poverty with our own eyes when we walked around this place. It is very easy for us to identify with the people because this is where we come from. We will drill two boreholes in this area so that people will have safe drinking water.”

How fortuitously telling that Mai Mujuru should be talking of how her NPP and MDC-T are talking of merging at a rally marked two streams of raw sewage merging. Both Mai Mujuru and Morgan Tsvangirai have each been in power for 34 and 5 years respective and in all those years they each had many opportunities to do something positive for the nation but all they have ever done is drag the nation into the open sewer! Both have proven beyond all reason doubt that they are corrupt and incompetent.

Mai Mujuru has looted $15.8 billion in three consignment of diamonds alone. How many dams, motor ways, hospitals and schools would have been built with that money? She is promising to sink two boreholes with some of her looted wealth. Your generousity, Comrade Teurai Ropa, surpasses all understanding!

Controversial MDC lawmaker Priscilla Misihairabwi-Mushonga is at it again; this time warning of future social upheaval over the emotive Gukurahundi issue. Misihairabwi-Mushonga is also part of women politicians that are pushing for the women's vote ahead of the 2018 election.

Piscilla is one of the most useless busy bodies in Zimbabwe politics. She was one of the MDC cabinet member during the five year in the GNU that failed to deliver even one democratic reform. All she ever did was talk endlessly about nothing. She is bringing up the Gukurahundi issue now to spruce up her otherwise wasted years in politics. She is not going to do anything to address the issue or help the victims; she is just using the issue for her own selfish political gain.

When she was Minister, she was one of those praising President Mugabe to the high heaven. “I am speechless!” she said of the tyrant. Did she not know then that he was the man who ordered the Gukurahundi?

Yes, Gukurahundi could spark off upheaval in Zimbabwe but only because Mugabe should have never carried out the murders and then many opportunities to address the matter and bring those responsible to book were wasted. Opportunists like Priscilla are not helping the matter by poking their noses into the matter for selfish political gain.

Nomazulu has objected to your tribal/regional agenda because it is not going to help us rebuild Zimbabwe. Zanu PF is composed of Shonas only even before the unity accord of 1987 or has the destruction of the nation’s economy been confined to some regions whilst other have prosper as you have tried to insinuate. Mugabe has push for his one-party, Zanu PF, dictatorship which is not the same thing as Shona dictatorship.

Your intolerance of anyone who dares hold a different point of view is typical of Mugabe, if you keep up with you poison you will drag the nation into yet another nightmare just as Mugabe did!

“We have leadership bankruptcy in Zimbabwe. This is the biggest problem in Zimbabwe,” said Mujuru.

It is going down in history as one of the few things she has ever said which is true. With the country in total economic meltdown after decades of gross mismanagement and rampant corruption one would think that this goes without saying but not so with her. What is obvious to everyone else is a hidden mystery to such as Mai Mujuru.

For 34 years, she was at the very heart of the corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF misrule that has landed us in this mess. Whilst she has readily admitted to leadership bankruptcy in Zanu PF she does not count herself amongst the corrupt and incompetent leadership.

Mai Mujuru and her late husband tried to sell $15.8 billion in looted diamonds alone and yet she will swear she is not corrupt!

Ever since the day she was booted out of Zanu PF, she has been fighting tooth and nail to present herself to the nation as the only squeaky clean and competent leader to come out of Zanu PF. She wants to be elected back onto the gravy train so she can take up her looting from where she left off!
