MDC leaders sold-out during the GNU, if you lot had implemented
the democratic reforms we would not still be in this mess! Many thinking
Zimbabweans have long lost patience with you MDC leaders and I am one of those!
“SOMETIMES in this game, the safest route into the immediate
future is to keep your head down and wait for the dust to clear before looking
over the wall to see what has happened. It is impossible to predict what is
going to happen in the next few days/weeks here in Zimbabwe and the
uncertainties are clouding everyone's vision,” you say.
So is that what you did throughout the five years of the GNU “keep
your head down and wait for the dust to clear”? Frankly the nation would be far
better off if you kept your mouth shut because you are not helping the nation
move forward.
“It is a pity that this is so because I thought we were doing so
well in the run up to the elections and then the way in which we handled the
elections themselves. Had we continued on that orderly, managed path, I think
we could have predicted a good outcome for all of us. Just so that we keep
things in perspective let's remember that the MDC Alliance increased its tally
of Members of Parliament by a third to 64 seats, with one independent and one
National Patriotic Front member and with Zanu-PF being held down to 144 seats —
just barely two thirds. Nothing like the overwhelming majority they held before,”
you say.
For Pete’s sake Eddie, these elections were first and foremost
about making sure every Zimbabwean exercised their right to a meaningful say in
the governance of the country after all these years of rigged elections.
If MDC leaders were warned once, they were warned 100 000 times
and 100 000 times again not to take part in these elections without first
implementing the reforms. Sadly the warnings have fallen on deaf ears and
intellect atrophied by greed. It is no secret that MDC leaders have been after
the few gravy train seats Zanu PF has offered as bait to entice them to contest
the elections regardless how flawed and illegal the process got!
“The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition
was that both MDCs couldn’t now do the obvious – withdraw from the elections,”
explained Senator Coltart.
“The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only
logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to
account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither
could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning
seats and giving the process credibility.”

This is very disappointing Eddie Cross because you still do not get it! These elections were not free, fair and credible and should not have taken place without first implementing the reforms. It was only because of MDC greed that the nation was dragged into these elections, you lot could not resist the few gravy train seats Zanu PF gives away as bait.
Do you really think MDC winning 64 gravy train seats is worth the price of yet another rigged elections?
No nation in its right mind can ever tolerate such nonsense because every generation will be compelled to fight the generation before it or else accept subjugation. We want a Zimbabwe in which everyone enjoys the basic freedoms and rights including the right to free, fair and credible elections. Everyone is entitle to a meaningful vote and no one has a veto. This is not even open for debate or negotiation!
These elections were not free, fair and credible because there was no free public media, 2 to 3 million Zimbabweans in the diaspora were denied the vote, ZEC failed to produce a verified voters' roll, etc. It seems Zanu PF was adopted the stupid Chamisa mentality that the elections are free and fair if MDC wins regardless what actually happened. We do not care who won or lost, the elections were rigged.
Zanu PF has retained it iron grip on power in Zimbabwe not so much because the party leaders are cunning and ruthless thugs but more because in the MDC opposition, the country has some of most corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless politicians in the world.
It was USA Ambassador to Zimbabwe ,Chris Dell, in leaked secret cable back to Washington who said Tsvangirai "was a flawed and indecisive character. That was back in 2004 and time has proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the Ambassador was right. Tsvangirai went on to surround himself with the likes of Tendai Biti, David Coltart, Welshman Ncube, Eddie Cross, Nelson Chamisa, etc. all of them, brain dead. And to crown it all have MDC members better known for the wildebeest mentality of following leaders blindly, no questions asked.
Whatever pretence the MDC leaders had to fighting for democratic change it all disappeared during the GNU, they were all too busy enjoying the trappings of high office they completely forgot about the suffering masses and the need for democratic change. The MDC Alliance was about increasing their chances of winning the few gravy train seats Zanu PF was offering as bait.
They all knew with not even one democratic reform in place Zanu PF will blatantly rig the elections. They did not care that elections were rigged as long as they win a few of the bait seats. So it is not surprising that the likes of Tendai Biti, David Coltart and other who got seats on the gravy train are DE E LIGHTED!
Our struggle for democratic change is not an easy and straight forward fight with the Zanu PF tyrants we, the people, must acknowledge that MDC leaders are, at best, running with the hare and hunting with the hounds. There have been numerous occasions when the Zanu PF dictatorship should have been dismantled but nothing happened because the MDC leaders entrusted to do this sold-out.
Ever since the GNU, MDC leaders are no longer interested in bring about any democratic changes, they will continue to pay lip service to reforms. Meanwhile they will come up with one excuse after another for taking part in the elections regardless how flawed the process as long as Zanu PF offers a few gravy train seats as bait!
@ Nomazulu
Your are right, in Zimbabwe religion has become the opium of the people and every crook and thug has become pastor with a Bible in one hand and collecting plate in the other fleecing the impoverished masses of the little they have.
"Tsvangirai was stupid to contest 2013 elections with no verified voters roll!" Chamisa said (forgetting that as a senior MDC leader at the time he too must share the blame).
"I will NOT make the same mistake!" he will finality!
Yet he too went on to take part in this year's elections with not even one democratic reform in place, with no verified voters' roll, no free public media, etc., etc.
Of course, Tsvangirai and the rest of the MDC leadership stupid to participate in the 2013 elections knowing that with no reforms in place Zanu PF will blatantly rig the elections, a repeat of the 2008! Well Chamisa and et al were doubly stupid to repeat the same foolish mistake yet again.
Chamisa loves signing off "God is in it!" How can God be in your foolish decisions?
Zimbabweans must wake up to corrupt, incompetent and murderous thugs who go to church to fleece the poor of their money and/or vote!
"When we saw Chamisa in white garments praying in the Zimbabwean wilderness, praying and of course fasting, one wonders if it is an abuse of religion, what Lenin correctly said: religion is the opium of the people!!!!!!" you said.
Chamisa went up Mount Murewa a village idiot and came down, no wiser, he was still a village idiot.
Malaba Asks Chamisa's Lawyer, "You Say This Is A Goat, I Also See It's A Goat But Where Is The Primary Evidence That It Is A Goat?"
Well that underlines the impossible task MDC lawyers are facing here. Short of the goat saying it is a goat after swearing to tell the truth and nothing but the truth no other "primary evidence" was going to convince Chief Justice Malaba.
