The MDC need to accept and realise that ED (President Emmerson Mnangagwa) is the man and that Zanu-PF is the governing party, like it or not. As offensive as it is to a lot of people, it is what it is. Deal with it and work with it. Shape up or ship out. As Zimbabweans, we need to work with what we have, together. There is no alternative. Nothing is going to be easy. We all know that, but sulking like spoiled kids will not solve anything.” (Quoting Conway Tutani in Newsday/Bulawayo 24)
After 38 years of a corrupt and tyrannical de facto one-party dictatorship, of “dealing with it and making it work” without success it is insane to keep on trying and expecting a different result.
We can all pretend that Mnangagwa kept his promise to hold free, fair and credible elections, that Zimbabwe is now a functional democracy, “a second republic and new dispensation,” etc. The reality is he rigged the elections and the country facing an ever worsening economic meltdown because it is still a pariah state ruled by corrupt and vote rigging thugs.
We can continue to pretend we can have economic prosperity and still remain a pariah state or we can standup and be honest with ourselves and admit the Zanu PF dictatorship has failed and we must replace it!
“There is no alternative!” Of course, there is no alternative to those who have stopped thinking, those whose brain has atrophied into a lump of fatty tissue. To those with even half a brain, the alternative is staring them in the face; they must stand firm in their demand for free, fair and credible elections. All those who rig elections must be punished and not rewarded with high office!

The argument that we should all work with ED "because there is no alternative" is nonsense. Zanu PF has failed and after 38 years of the failed dictatorship to still maintain there is no alternative befits one whose brain has atrophied into useless fatty tissue.
There is an alternative to Zanu PF dictatorship and it has been staring us all in the face - a democratic system of government emerging from free, fair and credible elections. Mnangagwa rigged the recent elections and instead of us standing up to the regime and punishing it for high treason we have always opted for the easy solution - reward the vote rigging thugs with the absolute power to appease them. It is little wonder Zanu PF now believes the party has the right to rig elections!
Of course, all efforts to work with the dictatorship have produced no result as corruption and mismanagement have only got worse and worse. It is insane to keep pretending the country can be economically prosperous and still remain a pariah state!
Why did Chamisa agree to participate in an election process so flawed it was impossible for him to win, as we can see. If Chamisa is ever going to win the respect of any thinking person out there he must explain why he ignored advice not to participate in these elections with no reforms. He did not even have the common sense to insist on ZEC releasing a verified voters' roll for Pete's sake!
“Do not be troubled or lose sleep as you hear noises going up and down. I urge members of the party do not be perturbed by those who continue to make noises: as ZANU PF we have no agenda for a GNU… let us continue…economy… for our country,” said Mnangagwa.
As much as Mnangagwa would wish to move on, on the economy; he is well and truly stuck. He did hit the ground running soon after seizing power in last November’s military coup with his “Zimbabwe is open for business!” call. Sadly for him the much hope for flood of investment he was cocksure would follow has not materialised. So instead of the economic recovery, Zimbabwe’s economy is getting even worse!
The country has experienced shortages of cash, forex, fuel, food, medicine, etc. Mnangagwa and his regime have tried everything and nothing has worked, if anything the situation is getting worse and worse.
“I thank you all, we destroyed (takavarakasha) those who were competing against us,” boasted ED.
“We were given a fresh mandate to govern Zimbabwe… full stop!”
No Mnangagwa, you rigged the elections and everyone has told you so too. Now that it is becoming increasingly clear that Zanu PF cannot rig economic recovery too the rigged elections is fast becoming an empty victory, a Pyrrhic victory.
Mnangagwa and Zanu PF have no mandate to govern the country; they rigged the elections and imposed themselves on the nation. They must step down and stop holding the nation to ransom. They have to choice to peacefully step down now or be forced to do so because the present situation is simply unsustainable.
By refusing peaceful change Mnangagwa and his junta have opted for violent revolutionary change. They will get the wish but they must also know that they will be held to account for all the death and destruction brought on by the violent revolution.
Yes great leaders have vision, you do not even have common sense. You were warned not to take part in these recent elections without reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections and you refused to listen.
The reforms you are now wittering about should have been implemented during the last GNU. You and your fellow MDC friends failed to get even one reform implemented in five years. You sold out.
You are nagging Mnangagwa for a seat on the gravy train as your reward for participating in these flawed and illegal elections and thus giving them some modicum of credibility!
