"Diasporans must help with re-engagement" says Mnangagwa - lie you denied all 3 m of them a vote P Guramatunhu

“PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has appealed to Zimbabweans in the diaspora to support his re-engagement efforts undertaken following his military assisted power seizure almost two years ago,” reported New Zimbabwe.

“Fellow Zimbabweans, I wish to conclude by appealing to you all including those in the diaspora to draw inspiration from the heroes and heroines by building bridges of unity, peace and freedom, patriotism and economic prosperity.

“It is our duty and responsibility to build and prosper our country through both our words and deeds, lest we forget,” said Mnangagwa.

The real tragedy here is that we have a regime that is set in its oppressive and tyrannical ways, there is no talking to Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF cronies, they are simply not listening. They cannot and will not accept that they have failed even with all the mountain of evidence of their failures.

Worst of all Mnangagwa and his cronies have never accepted that the very essence of everyone having a meaningful say in the governance of one’s country is that they should have be able to choose who governs the country in a free, fair and credible elections. Of course, they know they have been rigging elections because they cannot bear the thought of being booted out of office.

Mnangagwa denied the 3 million or so Zimbabweans in the diaspora the vote in last July’s elections. The only logical reason for doing so was that he did not trust them to vote for Zanu PF particularly since most of them left the country to escape the economic meltdown brought on by the decades of Zanu PF misrule. He had the cheeky to assure the 3 million that he will arrange for them to vote next time, a favourite Zanu PF dirty tactic.

Why were 3 million out of 5 million who, supposedly, voted denied the vote?

The regime failed to produce something as basic as a verified voters’ roll although this is a common sense and legal requirement.

The bottom line is last year’s elections were full of flaws and illegalities the whole process is null and void. Zanu PF does not have the people’s mandate to govern the country, the country is, per se, a pariah state ruled by corrupt, incompetent and vote rigging thugs.

As long as the country remains a pariah state there will be no meaningful economic recovery because no investor would ever want to do business with thugs.

What does Mnangagwa want Zimbabweans in the diaspora to do? Lie that Zimbabwe is a healthy and functioning democracy when the country denied them a vote and could not even produce a verified voters’ roll!

No Mnangagwa it is you and your Zanu PF cronies who “draw inspiration” from the TRUE heroes and heroines who subscribed to the word and spirit of all Zimbabweans being entitled to enjoy all the freedoms and rights in UN Universal Human Rights Declaration including the right to free, fair and credible elections and the right to life. The true heroes and heroines of our fight for independence, going back to the days of Mbuya Nehanda, must be turning in the graves to see how this Zanu PF regime has betrayed the people and all the nation had fought and many had died for.

Zimbabwe is a pariah state no amount of propaganda will change that. The only way out is for Zanu PF to step down to allow for the appointment of an independent and competent administration that will be tasked to implement the democratic reforms necessary to guarantee free, fair and credible elections.

Zanu PF has held the nation to ransom for the last 39 years with the tragic economic and political consequences we see today. Enough is enough!

“I think Zimbabwe needs more solution providers than demonstrators.

“Sincere honest and peaceful dialogues by all stakeholders are the starting point. Politicians alone will never solve our economic difficulties.”

You have not given any valid reason why the demonstrations should not go ahead other than repeating the feeble Zanu PF excuse that the demos will not be peaceful because you said so!

Mnangagwa is just a dumb, naive and conceited individual and, like all such individuals, given to believing and doing some shockingly idiot things. When Mnangagwa and his November 2017 coup plotters announce that the "coup was a military assisted transition". they believed the whole world will believe that nonsense.

When Mnangagwa and his plane load of hangers-on paraded in their multi-coloured scarfs crowing "Zimbabwe is open for business!" they were cocksure they were opening the flood gate for investors. Zimbabwe was still a pariah state ruled by corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous thugs, they had done nothing to change that and yet they believed the investors would be fooled by simple act of removing Mugabe and a few of the thugs around him. The investors were not so easily duped!

Mnangagwa is calling for Zimbabweans everywhere to help the country's drive to re-engage. He is the one who blatantly rigged last year's elections, we all know corruption is rampant, etc. proof Zimbabwe is still a pariah state. No one would want to do business in a pariah state and therefore all time, energy and treasure poured into re-engagement is wasted.

Of course, all Zimbabwe's TRUE national heroes and heroines are turning in their graves to see what Zimbabwe has become under this corrupt, incompetent and oppressive Zanu PF dictatorship. They died for the noble objective of a country in which all enjoy freedom, liberty and economy prosperity and not for a Zimbabwe where the few ruling elite waste the nation's human and material resources to gratify their insatiable greed.

In his own naive and conceited way, Mnangagwa even believes that the nation's true heroes approves his vote rigging, looting and brutal oppression! We owe it to the dead, living and to posterity to rescue this nation from the hands of the Zanu PF thugs and usurpers!

Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF thugs rigged last year's elections, they have no mandate to govern and they must step down. If the regime is still in office in 2023 then we, the people of Zimbabwe, would only have ourselves to blame for it!

Of all the curses, ignorance must be one of the worst. Millions of Zimbabweans risked life and limb to elect Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends into power on the understanding they would implement the democratic reforms to end the Zanu PF dictatorship. 20 years latter, not even one reform has been implemented.

During the GNU the MDC leaders learned had their best opportunities ever to implement the reforms but failed to get even one reform implemented because Mugabe bribed the lot with the trappings of high office. With their snout in the feeding trough they forgot about the reforms.

Zanu PF has since learned that as long as the party allows the opposition to win a few gravy train seats they will participate in the elections regardless how flawed and illegal the process gets. This is a win-win cozy relationship since Zanu PF continues to rig elections and MDC get the scraps. The real losers here are the ordinary Zimbabweans who continue to suffer the consequences of been stuck with a corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous regime.

What makes the situation even worse is that most Zimbabweans are blissfully ignorant that MDC leaders are sell-outs! All these demos are about MDC pushing Zanu PF to give up a few more gravy train seats at the expense of the commonwealth agenda of free, fair and credible elections.

After last year's elections the EU, the Americans, the Commonwealth, etc. all condemned the elections making it crystal clear Zanu PF was illegitimate. It is none other than the MDC who have fought tooth and nail to give Zanu PF some modicum of political credibility by participating in the elections regardless of all the evidence of vote rigging. Right now MDC are keen to trade legitimacy in return for cabinet post. MDC are the one undermining the EU and everyone else's efforts to get meaningful democratic reforms implemented!

Tomorrow we will know how many Zimbabweans out there are so ignorant they will foolish back MDC's demands not knowing the later is now working in cahoots with Zanu PF! We saw hundreds of thousands march in support of Mnangagwa and his follow coup plotters two years ago, many of those people would no doubt be out again tomorrow!

The biggest problem here is that MDC is asking for dialogue leading to another power sharing with Zanu PF. We have been here before, the last GNU failed to get even one reform implemented. "We sat, ate and did nothing for five years!" Chamisa admitted four weeks ago. The reality of another GNU so MDC leaders can "sit, eat and do nothing!" is what these demos are about.

Zimbabweans made the mistake of marching in support of Mnangagwa and his coup in November 2017 thinking it would end the dictatorship. It did not! Zimbabweans are being taken for a ride, this time by Chamisa.

Zanu PF rigged last year's elections, the regime is illegitimate and must step down to allow for the appointment of a competent interim administration that will implement the reforms. The power sharing MDC is offering is just an excuse to keep Zanu PF in power for the price of Chamisa, Biti, Ncube and two or three other MDC leaders getting cabinet positions! This we will not allow to happen!

@ Chronicle

TODAY is the day for peace-loving and patriotic Zimbabweans to shame merchants of violence by ignoring calls for violent demonstrations by the Mr Nelson Chamisa-led MDC Alliance whose agenda is to try and unseat a democratically elected Government.

This is despite the fact that Mr Chamisa and his party were rejected by the people in the 2018 harmonised elections and continue to be snubbed by the people in the respective by-elections held across the country since the national polls.

Zanu PF rigged last year’s elections and the country’s worsening economic situation is just one of the consequences of it. By rigging the elections Zanu PF confirmed that Zimbabwe is still a pariah state ruled by corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous thugs. As long as Zimbabwe remains a pariah state there will be no meaningful economic recovery because no one wants to deal with a pariah state.

So no amount of this “Zanu PF is a democratically elected government” propaganda will ever change the reality that Zanu PF is illegitimate and Zimbabwe is a pariah state. What the country wants is for Zanu PF to step down.

What Chamisa is demanding is a power sharing arrangement with Zanu PF that is not good enough and for that reason and that reason only I for one will not support the demos! MDC have no business selling out legitimacy to Zanu PF in return for cabinet posts!

The demos are ablout getting Zanu PF to share the spoils of the rigged elections with MDC. Anyone who believes that the arrangement will implement the reforms necessary for free, fair and credible elections is naive.

Chamisa is after using the people for his own selfish agenda just as Mnangagwa did in 2017. The people need to wake up and focus on their own agenda! What the nation wants is for Zanu PF to step down so we can appoint a interim administration we can count on to implement the reforms leading to the holding of free, fair and credible elections.
