 “ZanuPF's ED Priorities Misplaced From Voters!!” wrote Patriotic Papa JC

“Just imagine Masvingo General Hospital the biggest and referral hospital in the province of more than 2 million people has one functional ambulance.

“Just imagine Mnangagwa decides to donate Chiefs with state of the art vehicles. He is doing this to thank Chiefs for oiling the 23 August 2023 election rigging machinery.”

Patriotic Papa JC is none other than Jefferson Chitando, MDC MP for Masvingo during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. Mugabe bribed the entire MDC leadership; the 110 MPs, 30 ministers and deputy minister, 2 deputy PM and 1 PM; with the trappings of high office and, in return, ignored implement the reforms for five years. Chitando was one of the MPs.

It is a great tragedy indeed that public funds are being squandered buying chiefs brand new vehicles when the nation’s basic services such as health care have all but collapsed. How can a Province like Masvingo have only one working ambulance! 

What is equally tragic here is that Zimbabwe would not be in this mess still if only Chitando and his MDC/CCC/Blue Train colleagues had implemented the democratic reforms and stopped Zanu PF rigging elections. After 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU, they have not only failed to implement even one token reform, they have been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy. 

It is rich that Chitando is now admitting that Mnangagwa rigged the 2023 elections and is thanking the “Chiefs for oiling the 23 August 2023 election rigging machinery”. Did Chamisa not dismiss all talk of Zanu PF rigging the elections because he had “plugged all the Zanu PF vote rigging loop holes”?

Of course, Chamisa was lying; he knew Zanu PF was rigging the elections, knew that participating would only give the regime legitimacy and, most important of all, knew that Zanu PF was offering a few gravy train seats to entice the opposition to participate. He and his CCC friends could not resist the bait. Chitando, Chamisa and everyone with half a brain know all these facts for they are well documented.

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe. 

Mnangagwa gave the Chiefs new vehicles before the 2023 elections and must have other reasons for “greasing” their palms yet again so soon after the last elections. It is no secret that with a super majority in parliament, thanks to the Sengezo Tshabangu recalls of elected CCC MPs, Mnangagwa now needs the 18 Chiefs in the senate so be certain of a 2/3 majority here too. With 2/3 majority in both chambers, Mnangagwa can scrap the two presidential term limit. 

Chitando and his CCC/Blue Train colleagues should spare us the buckets of crocodile tears they shed at criminal worse of resources buying Chiefs new cars when they took their share of the bribes and, worst of all, it is because of their treasonous betrayal we are in this mess!

 “Cyclone Chamisa sweeps through Masvingo Province.” reported Wezhira Munya.

“Pro-Chamisa Masvingo Province Citizens have come in numbers and filled Mucheke Hall and there is an overflow. Some Citizens are gathered outside Mucheke Hall because the space in Mucheke Hall. Some are sitting on the floor.”

What we are witnessing here is personality cult, the Chamisa Chete Chete, mentality in action. Because given Nelson Chamisa’s well documented track record as a corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless political leader; all this euphoric hero worshiping is typical of those who have taken leave of their senses.

How many of these people know that Chamisa and his MDC/CCC friends failed to implement the democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections even when they had the golden opportunity to do so during the 2008 to 2013 GNU? Mugabe bribed the MDC leaders with the trappings of high office and the rest is history!

Zimbabwe IS a failed state because we have been stuck with a corrupt, incompetent and murderous ruling party, Zanu PF, those last 43 years. Chamisa and company HAD the golden opportunity to end the Zanu PF dictatorship and they wasted it. 

And we, the people, have lacked the wit to realise CCC leaders have sold out even now, after 23 years of risking all to vote them into power and they do not even one token reform implemented to show for. 

That so many Zimbabweans should be caught up in this Chamisa Chete Chete personality cult madness bespeaks of a nation with eye to see but not the intellect to comprehend. A very tragic reality, in itself! But that there should be anybody, nobody at all, encouraging idiotic midsummer madness in any way much less for selfish political gain is unforgivable.

Most nations get the government they deserve. There is no denying that we in Zimbabwe certainly deserve this corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship complete with its MDC/CCC acolyte, “Zanu PF team B” as some people now call it!

“Cyclone Chamisa” will never ever implement any reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging the 2028 elections, point number one. Two, Cyclone Chamisa will con his brain-dead followers; with the usual assurances he plugged all the vote rigging loop holes and “God is in it!”; to participate in the flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy. Nothing will change, nothing!

Indeed, we should just call “Cyclone Chamisa” cyclone Zanu PF team B and be done with it! After all Chamisa et al have sold out on reforms to Zanu PF in power these last 23 years. Rest assured Cyclone Chamisa will participate in flawed 2028 elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy!

Zimbabweans would rather vote for monkeys just be rid of Zanu PF, now rather monkeys than imploding CCC. W Mukori

 “A FORMER AFRICAN LEADER URGES MNANGAGWA TO STEP DOWN” screamed the headlines on social media by some Correspondent in WINDHOEK NAMIBIA.

“Several former Heads Of States and Government who attended the Memorial service of the late Namibia President Hage Geingob concurred Mnangagwa needed to do the right thing,” continued the report.

"When the regional block SADC sends an observer team to a Member State to observe elections ...they come back with a report...don't they? What is the report saying? What is SADC saying about the report? I would simply step aside and allow the SADC due processes to proceed..that's The mark of a Good leader", the former Head of State said. 

"We get mandates to lead from our People. If the People say ..no this is not what we want...you listen..you step aside ...you don't bully everyone including the regional body SADC...you don't win those battles “.

The former African leader has not been following what has been happen in Zimbabwe; he would be glad SADC leaders did not step in to deny Zanu PF political legitimacy regardless of the damning report of vote rigging. There is chaos in Zimbabwe give the country is shunned by all because it is a pariah state but the situation would be even worse under a Chamisa led government! 

Before the dust of the chaotic and rigged 23 August 2023 Zimbabwe elections had settled down, CCC pushed the self-destruct button by recalled a number of newly elected party officials starting a factional war that raging out of control. The party’s leader, Nelson Chamisa, has since resigned complaining the party has been infiltrated and compromised by Zanu PF.

If SADC leaders had acted on the damning election report and denied Zanu PF legitimacy so that Zimbabwe ended up with another GNU, as happened is 2008; no one would expect a heavily infiltrated CCC to perform any better than MDC at implementing meaningful democratic reforms. It should be noted MDC failed to implement even one reform. Worse still, if SADC’s intervention had resulted in Chamisa led government. 

Zanu PF would be having a field day since the primary purpose of the Zanu PF infiltrators would be throw spanners in the works to prove that CCC was incompetent and not fit to govern. This Zanu PF government has already proven to be corrupt and incompetent one shudders at the prospect of the chaos and destruction these Zanu PF thugs will cause when they know some one else will be blamed for their mischief!

It is a historic fact that MDC/CCC leaders have not only failed to implement even one reform in 23 years, including 5 in the GNU. Worst of all, they have been participating in these flawed elections knowing fully well that would only give Zanu PF legitimacy. They have even lied about “plugging all Zanu PF vote rigging loop holes”, just to get the people participate and to hide the reason they were hell bent in participating was greed. 

Zanu PF has offered a few gravy train seats to entice the opposition to participate and CCC leaders have found the bait irresistible. 

There was a time Zimbabwe would vote for a troop of monkeys just to see the back of Zanu PF; such has been the nation’s desperation for regime change. The truth is after 23 years of voting for MDC/CCC leaders, the nation has failed to get the desired regime changed. Worst of all, it is as clear as day that we will never ever get regime change as long as CCC leaders remain the country main opposition. 

It is ironic that Zimbabwe would be better off voting for a real troop of monkeys than MDC/CCC leaders; at least the monkeys would not be infiltrated rendering the troop Zanu PF party in all but name and the troop so chaotic and dysfunctional that even the power hungry leader is forced to resign in a huff! 

Chamisa is launching a new political party and the infiltrators are there to help. Without first implementing the reforms no opposition party can escape Zanu PF infiltrators such is the overwhelming corrupting influence of the party. Chamisa or anyone else for that matter will launch an opposition party without being infiltrated by Zanu PF. 

What Zimbabwe needs to break the suffocating Zanu PF strangle, is an opposition that will push hard for democratic reforms, no reforms no elections. Push so hard none of Zanu PF’s bribes will tempt the opposition to compromise on reforms. Then and only then would Zanu PF be forced to accept the need to implement the democratic reforms. 

I believe SADC would happily support such a focused and determined opposition in Zimbabwe. The region body thought they had such a partner in MDC in the 2008 to 2013 GNU. They were disappointed when the MDC leaders; i.e. Nelson Chamisa, Tendai Biti, David Coltart, Welshman Ncube, Morgan Tsvangirai and many others; turned out to be corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless. They are still corrupt and incompetent, nothing has changed, so why any SADC leader want another GNU led by the same corrupt opposition beggars belief!

 A picture is worth a thousand words so indeed was a recent Zimbabwe Daily cartoon with Mt Pleasant residents family, the fat cows in Pharaoh’s dream, shouting “We want change! Ngaapinde hake mukomana!” on one side. And Mbare residents family, the thin cows, shouting “Zanu PF huchi! ED pfeee!” with the clinched fist. 

The cartoon is six months after the 23 August 2023 elections which Zanu PF blatantly rigged and so one would think the Mbare family would be happy. The Zimbabwe economy has not recovered, if anything it is worse. The rate of inflation, for example, has soared 400% in six month. And it is the poor, who are at the bottom of the economic parking order, who suffer the worst.

“Zanu PF huchi (honey)!” the poor shouted before the elections. Zanu PF are wasps, they sting is extremely painful and for what, you certainly do not get any honey from that lot. 

For the record, Zanu PF did rig the elections and so whether the poor freely supported the regime or where frogmarched is now academic what matters is the regime was not going to lose an elections it had carte blanche powers to rig. All the election observers including SADC, AU and even Zimbabwe’s own ZHRC condemned the elections process as flawed and illegal. 

The cartoon was mocking the Mt Pleasant, the affluent, educated and professionals in Zimbabwe society.

The Mt Pleasant residents were conned by Chamisa and Fadzayi Mahere, CCC MP candidate, into participating in flawed 2023 elections, believing CCC would win big. Chamisa said he had plugged all the Zanu PF vote rigging loop holes. “God is in it!” he said repeatedly. And they, the country’s intelligentsia, creme de la creme, believe these lies. CCC have failed to secure even something as basic as a verified voters’ roll, for Pete’s sake!

Chamisa, Mahere and the rest of the CCC leaders knew with no reforms implemented Zanu PF would rig the elections and that the nation’s  participation would only give the regime legitimacy. Still they were hell bent on participating because they also knew that Zanu PF was giving away a few gravy train seats as bait - bait they found irresistible. 

Chamisa and company were lying about having all these winning in rigged elections strategies to hide their real reason for participating was greed. 

It is bad enough Chamisa and company conning my aunt and nephew in the rural back waters, even them it is inexcusable given this has been going on for 23 years, not the affluent urbanites too. There is no excuse why urbanites should not know that MDC/CCC leaders are corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless given the well documented account of their failure to implement even one token reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. The truth is many of them have no clue and hence the reason why they were easily conned by Chamisa and company. 

It is only in the last decade or so that the Mt Pleasant residents have shown an interest in politics after decades of political indifference or, worse still, of actively supporting Zanu PF. The decades of Zanu PF misrule have seen the leafy suburb’s manicured lawns, tarred cycle tracks, etc. of the 1980s disappear. The roads are full of potholes, there is a chronic shortage of water to drink, the big houses are in varying stages of rot and decay. High inflation, unemployment and economic shortages affect everyone across the board.

The tide of economic poverty is reached everyone and spared none. Leafy Mt Pleasant is being transforming into just another Mbare ghetto. The overweight affluent busy bodies are losing more than their body weight and looking more like the gaunt and ill-dressed ghetto dwellers. 

The regime change the affluent Zimbabweans are clamouring for will not happen easily because Zanu PF has captured state and public institutions to consolidate its iron grip on absolute power. If  they had not wasted decades navel gazing they would know that CCC is Zanu PF team B in all but name, at least. 

One only hopes that the economic and political reality in Zimbabwe will now force the country’s affluent to take the challenges of electing competent leaders with the seriousness and urgency the matter demands.

He realises that these opposition fights have only one beneficiary, ZANUPF,” commented Hopewell Chin’ono on his X page.

“Munochena bvudzi ZANUPF ichingotonga if you don’t reconcile your differences and engage within reason!

“Unless you are privately gaining from ZANUPF rule, any sane person would heed Coltart’s words of wisdom!”

The biggest mistake any one can make here is to believe that the likes of Chamisa, Coltart, Biti, Ncube and all the other dudes who have been in the MDC/CCC are genuine democrats much less that they will ever defeat the Zanu PF dictatorship. 

These guys had the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms which would have stopped Zanu PF rigging the elections during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. They failed to implement even one token reform because Mugabe bribed them and thus proving beyond all doubt that they are corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent.

These MDC/CCC leaders have been participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating the dictatorship out of greed. It is not as if these men and women did not know and understand what is going on here. They have understood what is going on all along!

Many Zimbabweans have continued to give Chamisa and company their unflinching political support out of ignorance and naivety. Although most Zimbabweans know about Zanu PF rigging elections and the need to implementing democratic reforms to stop the rigging; very few know what these reforms are much less how they are implemented. 

So it is not surprising that many Zimbabweans have completely rejected the notion that MDC/CCC leaders are corrupt and incompetent. To them, all the evidence of Chamisa and company’s failure to implement any reforms during the GNU is water off a duck’s back simply. They have failed to understand what the reforms are; how can they possibly understand that the GNU was the golden opportunity to implement the reforms and MDC leaders wasted it. 

MDC/CCC leaders have have taken full advantage of  the Zimbabwe electorate’s ignorance and naivety, promising the masses change to stay in power.

“That is news to me. I ceased being Treasurer General ages ago. As I wrote in my statement recently I refuse to be drawn into any zero sum game. The future of Zimbabwe depends on all genuine democrats finding each other and working jointly to defeat tyranny,” David Coltart wrote on his X page.

Coltart and his fellow opposition travellers are participating in these flawed Zimbabwe elections out of greed, as he himself confessed in his book. They failed to deliver even one token reform to stop Zanu PF rigging elections during the GNU, when they had all the trump cards including SADC’s backing; it is naive, to say the least, to think they will do so now. 

Any hope of curing ourselves of the curse of rigged elections and bad governance depends on Zimbabweans finally realising MDC/CCC leaders will never implement the reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging the election. Never! The penny should have dropped by now; after 23 years, including 5 in the GNU. Zimbabwe needs competent opposition leaders who will do what Chamisa and company have failed to do, implement the reforms. 

"CCC should be the antithesis of autocratic Zanu PF" said Professor Ncube. True. My beef is why you sold out of free elections! W Mukori

 “You cannot run an authoritarian and autocratic opposition and once in government run a democratic system,” Professor Welshman Ncube, acting CCC President, told local journalist Zenzele Ndebele in a video posted in Bulawayo 24.  “The opposition should be the antithesis of what Zanu PF is and not to be like them.”

No one in his or her right mind can help but salute that view.

Professor Ncube denied that he and Tendai Biti worked with Sengezo Tshabangu in orchestrating the recall of elected CCC officials, root cause of the party’s self destruct implosion. “Tshabangu was his own man!” he argued. 

I believe Professor Ncube’s version of the story but it is all academic because there can be no doubt now that the self-destruct button has been pushed these former MDC/CCC colleagues are out to destroy each other and Zimbabwe’s opposition - up to now it was feeble and useless and now it is a curse to the nation.

The principle beneficiary of CCC imploding is Zanu PF, the party has already won more parliamentary seats following the Tshabangu recalls to give the party a super majority. The party will do as it damn well pleases and has already started flexing its muscles.

Zanu PF has booted hundreds of thousands of families off the land without even granting them reasonable notices. The regime claims these are squatters; it is almost certain most of these people did not vote for the regime in the 2023 rigged elections and the regime is punishing them for it. 

CCC participated in the flawed 2023 elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and now the opposition leaders have been busy fighting each other they are not even there to voice against Zanu PF lawlessness and barbarism.  

My beef with Professor Ncube is he and his MDC/CCC friends have not only fail to implement even one democratic reform to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections but have participated in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed. Of course, they knew exactly what they are dong!

The only reason why they are still playing a major role in shaping the country’s destiny is because the Zimbabwe masses are ignorant, thick and slow. 

The people of Zimbabwe have risked life, limb and livelihoods to elect MDC/CCC leaders into power on the understanding the leaders would implement the democratic reforms to end the Zanu PF dictatorship, in particular, end the curse of rigged elections and bad governance. After 23 years including 5 years in the GNU, MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one token reform. Why the penny has not dropped that Professor Ncube and his colleagues are corrupt and useless after two decades of selling out, beggars belief. 

Zimbabwe is a failed state and as long as Zanu PF retain its dictatorial powers to rig elections nothing, absolutely nothing will change. The number one challenge, for get out of this hell-on-earth, is to implement the democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. 

After 23 years it is clear, MDC/CCC leaders have failed to carry out this important task; we must find other men and women who will! Why this is simple and obvious conclusion has remain incomprehensible is a damning testimonial to many of our people’s failure the to follow simple argument and to think for themselves.  

Povo are their own worst enemy because, in their ignorance and naivety, they are the ones keeping MDC/CCC leaders in power who, in turn, are keeping Zanu PF in power and perpetuating the suffering of the masses. 

CCC, like MDC, accomplished nothing it was led by same incompetent leaders. So too is new blue party! W Mukori

There is Zimbabwe Daily cartoon of a Yellow Kobi with three drivers (no doubt depicting the three rotational presidents in the Tshabangu CCC faction). The Kobi has no wheels and resting on bricks. It is going nowhere. Next to the Kobi are the public looking as glum as hell. In the foreground is a sleek looking Blue Bus.

True enough, the Yellow Kobi is going nowhere. What the nation is forgetting is that it was none other than Chamisa himself was the driver the Kobi and it got nowhere.

Chamisa said CCC was going to win big the 2023 elections because he had plugged all the Zanu PF vote rigging loop holes. "God is in it!" He knew that was a lie  and that participating in the flawed elections would only give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy. He conned the people to participate because he and his CCC friends were after the few gravy train seats Zanu PF was offering as bait to entice the opposition to participate. 

Chamisa’s erstwhile CCC colleagues turned against him as the fight over the few gravy train seats heated up. Chamisa resigned from CCC in a huff, complaining the party had been infiltrated by Zanu PF - the very thing he said would not happen. 

When CCC was launched in 2022, Chamisa insisted the party would have no constitution, no structure and no elected officials; to stop would-be infiltrators joining the party and destabilising it. He was going to controlled everything. He called his move “strategic ambiguity”. 

CCC was thrown into utter chaos when Sengezo Tshabangu started recalling elected CCC officials, Chamisa loyalists, claiming they were no longer party members. Chamisa was furious, naturally but helpless to stop the recalls. Ironically, Tshabangu took advantage of the very fact that CCC had no constitution, etc. to claimed that he was the party’s Secretary General and therefore had the authority to recall those who ceased to be party members. 

Chamisa’s strategic ambiguity backfired! 

It is often said one arrives at the destination by the route he chose to avoid it! 

The sleek and modern Blue Bus in the cartoon is supposed to be Chamisa’s promised political party. It, just like the Yellow Kobi, will be going nowhere because the party will be beset by the same problems that paralysed CCC, MDC A and MDC before it - it will be led by the same corrupt and incompetent leaders.  

When Chamisa launched CCC, he had around him most of the leaders who were with him in the 2008 to 2013 GNU when MDC wasted the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms. These leaders have, since the GNU debacle, participated in the flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed out of greed. And it is not as if they did not know any of these things, knew it. 

“Look, you can't keep on participating in flawed electoral processes that serve to give big benefits to dictators such as Robert Mugabe. Mugabe has perfected the art of winning elections. So it will be very foolish for the opposition to continue legitimising these sham elections which don't deliver,” said Tendai Biti told Isaac Mugabi in an interview in a 2015.

“So you can't continue subjecting Zimbabweans to processes where their hopes just get crushed.”

When none of the opposition leaders paid any heed to his warning, Tendai Biti joined his opposition colleagues in participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy for his share of the gravy train benefits!

Chamisa made a big song and dance when he launched CCC in 2022. It was all a big ado for nothing for all Chamisa and company did was swap their red MDC regalia for the yellow of CCC. Yes, some of the old guard are remaining in the Yellow Kobi but many of the others who have been participating in these flawed elections out of greed are joining Chamisa in the Blue Bus!  

Chamisa et al have already proven beyond all doubt that they a corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless; changing the party regalia from red to yellow and now yellow to blue will have no effect on their competence. A cobra does not cease being a deadly snake just because it has cast off its old and shaggy coat!

The tragedy for Zimbabwe is not only has Chamisa and company sold out on implementing the democratic reforms but, worst of all, the ordinary Zimbabweans have been slow in realising the treasonous betrayal; not even after 23 years with not one token reform implemented and Zanu PF still blatantly rigging elections! The nation’s growing euphoria over Chamisa’s new party is born out of the same personality cult mentality carried over from the MDC and CCC days; it was irrational then it is irrational now. 

What Zimbabwe needs, if the country is ever to end the curse of rigged elections and bad governance, is a rational electorate. Rational enough to accept that Chamisa and company are corrupt and incompetent and will never implement the democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging elections. And rational enough to elect competent opposition leaders who will implement the reforms. 

The ancient Greeks were right, a healthy and functioning democracy demands an educated electorate who understand the issues and will hold those in power to account. We have given the right to vote to people who have all but resigned their right and duty to learn, think and hold those in power to account with the typical “Chamisa Chete Chete!” mentality. 

Zimbabwe is in a mess! And, as long as our people continue to have this personality cult mentality behind the blind loyalty to CCC and now being switched to the Blue Bus, there will be no getting out of the mess!
