Chamisa to launch new party, after abandoned "infiltrated" CCC. Who's stopping new infiltration, especially from recycled deadwood. W Mukori

On 24 January 2024, Nelson Chamisa announced that he was resigning as president of CCC because the party has been infiltrated and contaminated. Today, hardly two weeks since his resignation, we hear he is out mobilising for the launch of a new political party.

“Chamisa loyalists led by former legislators Amos Chibaya and Gift Ostallos Siziba yesterday addressed supporters in Mutare during the inaugural mobilisation programme for the new political movement,” reported Bulawayo 24.

“Other senior opposition figures who attended the meeting include former lawmakers Regai Tsunga and David Chimhini.”

The obvious question is: If Chamisa is abandoning CCC in a huff because it was infiltrated what has he done to ensure the new party is NOT infiltrated too, especially if the new party will be led by the same recycled deadwood?

No doubt the ordinary party supporters, the wildebeest herd, will be thrilled to bits. It does not take much to impress the herd; a new political party name, new slogans and new regalia and the herd is ready to follow no questions asked!

Of course, the people are setting themselves to participate in another flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy, to perpetuate the dictatorship and their own suffering. Even now after 43 years of Zanu PF rigging elections, they still do not have the common sense to realise it will take more than a change of the political party’s name, etc. to deliver democratic change and end the zanu PF dictatorship.

Nelson Chamisa and his fellow recycled deadwood leaders have not only failed to implement even one token democratic change these last 23 years, including the 5 years in the 2008 to 2013 GNU when they had the golden opportunity to do so. Worse still, since the GNU they have given up on implementing reforms and have participated in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy for a few gravy train seats reward.

Nelson Chamisa and company have been running with the povo hare by day, making a big song and dance about it, and hunted with the Zanu PF dogs by night. Zanu PF and MDC/CCC have a cosy relationship keeping each other in power. The inter-party growling and scratching swipes are just as common within the party; politicians are like cats when you think they are fighting, they are making love and will have the kittens to prove it too!

It is all very well to say insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. When you can hardly differentiate your left hand from the right, you will not notice you are repeating the same thing! The herd cannot see the emptiness of changing of party’s name and regalia for the umpteenth time especially in the light of the stagnation the party doing the same things as before because the leaders have not changed.

The people of Zimbabwe must wake up to the reality that Chamisa and his recycled deadwood colleagues will never ever implement any democratic reforms. Never ever! If they failed to implement any reforms during the GNU, when they had the trump cards, it is naive to think they will do so now when Zanu PF has all the trump cards. It is idiotic, to say the least, to believe Chamisa will implement the reforms now because he has changed the party’s name, etc.

Chamisa and his CCC friends have proven beyond all reasonable doubt that they are breathtakingly corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless. A change of party regalia will not change them. A cobra does not cease to be a deadly snake just because it has shed off its old coat!

Zimbabwe is a failed state. And as long as Zanu PF retains its dictatorial powers to rig elections nothing will change. Zanu PF will never reform itself out of office. Nelson Chamisa and his MDC/CCC have failed to implement even one reform these last 23 years.

What Zimbabwe needs is a quality electorate, with the common sense to admit Chamisa et al have failed to implement the reforms and elect quality opposition leaders who will implement the reforms. This should be self-evident but when so many are easily fooled and repeatedly, everything is an up hill struggle.

The MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one token reform in 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU it is naive, to say the least, to still believe they can still bring change. And so I agree with you 100% that the opposition parties as they are currently constituted are nothing but Zanu PF's B Team with the common agenda of keeping Zanu PF in power at all costs.

How anyone can ever believe the nonsense that Chamisa controlled everything in CCC and he now admits it is compromised but refuse to accept responsibility for what happened! And yet millions believe he is as innocent as a rose!

We do not require a revolution in Zimbabwe beyond asking Zimbabweans to open their eyes and minds and stop following the Zanu PF B team blindly like sheep to the slaughter. Zanu PF would not have got away with the rigged 2023 elections, for example, if the ordinary Zimbabweans had not participated in the flawed elections because they believed Chamisa’s oxymoronic nonsense of “plugging all the vote rigging loop holes!”

A healthy and functioning democracy demands an informed and diligent electorate and not an ignorant, naive and gullible one. We are our own worst enemy because in our stupidity in believe Zanu PF B Team we are keeping Zanu PF in power.

“So u want us to believe zanu pf haunanyaya iwe mukori.”

You will never ever accept that MDC/CCC leaders are corrupt and incompetent because to do that you must first understand what the reforms and how they are supposed to be implemented. You have failed to understand what the reforms are even now with the benefit of hindsight.

You are like Boxer the horse in Animal Farm, he failed to learn the alphabet and so could not understand any of the issues going on. In his stupidity Boxers adopted the motto “Napoleon is always right!” (Chamisa chete chete!) Boxer would not believe Napoleon would do anything wrong just as you do not believe Chamisa can do anything wrong.

It is disconcerting that anyone would ever elevate another fellow human being to the pedestal of an infallible demigod especially some one like Chamisa with a well documented track record as a corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent. But here we are, this is Zimbabwe, we have human beings with an IQ of a horse!

Why you refuse to accepting the reality that MDC failed to implement because that is tantamount “to believing in Zanu PF” beggars belief. One can only wonder what is going on in that cup-cake! How can anyone be so shallow, dumb and slow!

Chamisa is gearing up to launch the new party after resigning from CCC because it was infiltrated and compromised. This is a circus and one at public expense!

CCC participated in the flawed 2023 election giving Zanu PF legitimacy and we, the people of Zimbabwe, are paying dearly for this foolishness. If CCC had not participated and taken up the gravy train seats we could have cause to ask SADC to deny Zanu PF legitimacy.

Chamisa is starting a new party without bothering to explain to us the people why CCC was infiltrated and what he has done to stop this happening again. The new party will have the same recycled deadwood from the MDC days including Chamisa himself!

There really is no excuse why anyone with "O" level education and above should not know what the democratic reforms the nation have been talking about these last 20 years . None! Any one who knows about the reforms should also know that Zanu PF has been rigging elections all these 43 years since the country's independence precisely because no meaningful reforms to stop the rigging were implemented.

MDC leaders had the golden opportunity to implement the reforms during the GNU and they wasted it. Robert Mugabe bribed Tsvangirai and company with the trappings of power and the rest is history!

For anyone with "O" level education to say Chamisa and his CCC friends are the best foot forward for Zimbabwe shows the have no clue what the reforms are and that MDC sold out big time in failing to implement the reforms. This level of ignorance and naivety is simply unforgivable and the the reason why Zimbabwe is a failed state! Frankly, it would have been better for the nation is such nincompoops were never born!

“Who is this best foot forward and why don't you campaign for the best foot forward 🤷🏿‍♂️🤷🏿‍♂️looks like you don't have any alternative, bring the alternative for discussion dololo.”

You supported Chamisa in participating in last year’s flawed elections on the lie CCC would win big only to give Zanu PF legitimacy. You did it because you believed Chamisa was the best foot forward.

Do you know about reforms and that MDC sold out by failing to implement even one reform in 23 years including 5 in the GNU? If you did, then you must also agree that only a village idiot would say some one who has already proven to be corrupt and incompetent is the best foot forward for the nation!

It is not only Zanu PF who are holding the nation to ransom, they are doing so with the help of the corrupt and incompetent opposition and the brain dead opposition supporters who are refusing to accept Chamisa and company are corrupt and incompetent. You Mukanya are one of the brain dead CCC herd!

As much as SADC leaders were put under pressure to deny Zanu PF legitimacy by the damning SADC and AU election observer mission reports the will to act was undermined by two events:

1) winning CCC leaders who took up their gravy train seats even after SADC and AU election observers had made it clear the election process was flawed and illegal. By accepting their seats CCC were endorsing the elections are free, fair and credible.

Leaders like Tendai Biti argued CCC had to accept the seats the party had won to consolidate the “liberated zones” is a nonsense. The elections process was one and could not be split so areas in which CCC members won the process would be judged free and fair and where CCC members lost judged flawed and illegal.

There was no verified voters’ roll for example and that affected everybody. Zanu PF was clever to let CCC win a few gravy train seats to entice the opposition to participate no matter how flawed the process got!

2) The recalls of CCC elected officials showed there was chaos and confusion in the party. It would have been very naive, to say the least, for SADC leaders to deny Zanu PF legitimacy when there was clearly no competent opposition to take the nation forward.

If there was any doubt that CCC had imploded, Chamisa’s resignation two weeks ago has confirmed the implosion! Chamisa and company are going to be fighting amongst themselves for the next year, at least, they will be doing nothing else. That God SADC had not denied Zanu PF legitimacy, Zanu PF would be gloating in the ensuing chaos and blaming SADC for it!

“I supported Chamisa yes and will never dispute that, all I am saying bring the alternative on the table for deliberations, to me for now there is no better alternative than Chamisa, if you have one bring on the table, no one is perfect but there is always a better devil, bring your better devil on the table simpuru.”

Only first class village idiot would elect someone into power knowing that individual is corrupt, incompetent and that their participation in the flawed elections will give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate their own suffering “because there is no alternative”!

You supported Chamisa because you believed he was the best foot forward and you still do because you are a village idiot to who reason and logic counts for nothing!

If idiots like you had not participated in last year’s elections, SADC leaders would have had the confidence to deny Zanu PF legitimacy knowing they have the backing of the people of Zimbabwe. But of course, you have no clue what I man talking about! It really would have been better for the country if nincompoops like you Mukanya were never born!

ZCC condemned the practice of recalling elected officials, stating that it undermines the will of the electorate and disrupts the democratic process. Such actions, driven by narrow political interests, disregard the wishes of Zimbabwean voters and impose significant costs on the nation.

The ongoing recalls of elected officials have been criticized for keeping the country in a perpetual state of electioneering, even months after the general election. Opposition leader Nelson Chamisa denounced the recalls as a project orchestrated by Zanu-PF, further exacerbating the erosion of constitutional democracy.

ZCC emphasized that the recalls contribute to voter apathy by disenfranchising a significant portion of the electorate, resulting in elected representatives who lack broad-based legitimacy. This, in turn, undermines the integrity of electoral processes and diminishes their capacity to reflect the collective will of the people.

The church called on political actors to consider the repercussions of their actions on the electorate and urged a reconsideration of electoral practices. Restoring the integrity of elections is vital for nurturing a democratic society where the voice of the people remains central to good governance and national transformation.

The busy ZCC bodies have woken up to the ill effect of Sengezo Tshabangu’s recall but were indifferent to CCC’s participation in flawed and illegal elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed. Even after SADC and AU election observers had condemned the 23 and 24 August 2023 elections as a farce, CCC leaders still went ahead and took up their gravy train seats and thus sweeping the carpet from under SADC leaders’ feet - they could not deny Zanu PF legitimacy if Zimbabweans themselves say the process was free and fair.

“CCC must hang on to the liberated zones!” CCC leaders like Tendai Biti argued in defence of the CCC taking up their gravy train seats. Of course, it is nonsense!

SADC election observers had condemned the elections because ZEC had failed to produce something as basic as a verified voters’ roll which affected all constituencies in the country. CCC wanted these glaring flaws and illegalities to be ignore in the “liberated zones” for no better reason than that they had won ! Elections are judged on the basis of the process and not the result. Zanu PF has been careful to make sure the opposition win some gravy train seat no matter how flawed and illegal the process get!

ZCC busy bodies have never condemned the blatant vote rigging by Zanu PF nor the participation of the opposition in flawed elections out of greed! There are no democratic elections in Zimbabwe and per se the recalls are the least of our concerns since they cannot be undermining something that is not there!

But Coltart, who once said he does not wish to drive in a plush mayoral car at the expense of suffering residents, revealed he was only being paid a paltry US$25 for all his troubles.

"Just in case anyone questions my assertion that I get paid US$25 per month for the privilege of being Mayor, here is my allowance slip for January. I omitted to mention that I am actually paid this in Z$ at the official rate – so last month my total allowance/remuneration was Z$ 138,575.40.

"For those from outside of #Zimbabwe in case you are impressed the official interbank today is US$1:Z$10082. So, the Z$138,575 now equates to US $13.74!

"To be clear I am not complaining because I knew what I was getting into before being elected. But just don't let it be said that I am in it for the money!" he said.

There are other reasons for taking up the job other than the monthly salary! You love the limelight! You were sworn in as Mayor of Bulawayo six months ago and since you have had more media coverage and clocked many air-miles, second only to Emmerson Mnangagwa. All that is nothing compared to your cardinal sin!

Zimbabwe is a failed state because MDC leaders failed to implement even one toke reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging elections those last 23 years. You lot have been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed. You admitted it yourself because it was obvious to deny!

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

You can con the CCC herd into believing you and your fellow MDC/CC sell outs are doing the nation a favour by keeping Zanu PF in power. You can not con everyone; you are a sell out and you know it yourself!

Chamisa and company have failed to implement even one reform in 23 years because they are corrupt and incompetent. And you think keeping the same failed leaders will end the Zanu PF dictatorship, how foolish is that.

You have never understood what the reforms are about and hence the reason why you do not believe Chamisa and company sold out. Chamisa has conned you into believing CCC would win the 2023 elections because he had plugged the vote rigging loop holes. Even now with the evidence that Zanu PF rigged the elections you still continue to put your blind trust in him.

You will never learn because you do not have the intellect to learn! Why people like you have the vote is but a curse to the nation.

“We infiltrated Zanu PF and our members voted in Zanu PF’s primary elections.”

It has become the hallmark of MDC/CCC behaviour; they will boast about how clever they are and yet when the chips are down it is clear it was just grandstanding and posturing! What is tragic here is that the MDC/CCC leaders' pathetic performance record has had no effect of the party wildebeest herd followers. All the evidence of the leaders’ corruption and down-right treasonous betrayals are all water off a duck’s back to the herd.

A healthy and functioning democracy is only possible when the electorate is well informed and diligent. Zimbabwe's electorate is ignorant and naive and it is little wonder the nation is a failed state!

THE Citizens' Coalition for Change (CCC) has disintegrated into three distinct yet fluid factions following last week's resignation of Nelson Chamisa which took some legislators and party officials by surprise.

The freeing of the fiery Job Sikhala from prison after spending almost two years behind bars has added other dynamics to the saga.

Chamisa quit CCC in a huff last Thursday after its descent into political turmoil due to recalls of MPs and other elected representatives by self-imposed leaders. He said the party had been infiltrated by Zanu-PF and its subversives.

The resignation has resulted in a scramble for the heart and soul of the party, with three factions emerging: one loyal to Chamisa, the other which has coalesced around former MDC-Alliance vice-presidents Welshman Ncube and Tendai Biti as well as the self-imposed CCC interim steering committee, also known as the recalls committee, led by Sengezo Tshabangu.

CCC leaders have turn-on the self-destruct switch and the key, once turned- on, breaks to make-sure there is no turning it off again. The opposition is going to be preoccupied in their dog-eat-dog fight they will do little else.

There was very liitle chance the opposition was going to push for the democratic reforms before 2028 electio, it will be fair to say, that little chance has just evaporated like the morning mist is the rising African sun!

The issue of a competent opposition who will implement the reforms is now the key to ending Zimbabwe's failed state. We cannot ignore the reality that MDC/CCC leaders are not to the task. Like is or not CCC are Zanu PF B team in all but name! It has taken 23 years already to wake up to this reality, the country cannot afford to waste any more time on this matter!

“Kkk this dude so ,now i think after chamisa launches his new party you will be seriously in a deep trouble to name more than two parties and blame them yet you aint proffering any panacea to your assumed predicaments ,waste of time.”

You and millions of others out there have supported Chamisa and company even after they had failed to implement even one reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. You all believed all the promises of change he dished out like confetti at a wedding. You thought he was the panacea to all the nation’s problems.

The reality is MDC/CCC leaders changed nothing and the country has continue to sink deeper and deeper into the abyss.

You have howled all manner of insults at me for no other reason than that I have dared to point out that Chamisa is not the infallible demigod you say he is but a fallible mortal with a well documented record as corrupt and incompetent.

There are many reasons why Zimbabwe is a failed state and top on that list is ignorance. Millions of Zimbabweans out there have no clue what is going on. Zanu PF has rigged elections for the last 43 years because Zimbabweans have no clue what constitute free, fair and credible elections, in this day and age!

If we are serious about having a healthy and functioning democracy in Zimbabwe then we must have a knowledgeable and diligent electorate. An ignorant and naive one that it easily conned into believing such nonsense as CCC will win big because Chamisa has plugged vote rigging loop holes when he has failed to secure something as basic as a verified voters’ roll, is the recipe for a failed state!

In his book Animal Farm George Orwell showed why the revolution is some country are doomed to fail. In the book he describes Boxer, the horse, who failed to learn the alphabet and struggled to string a coherent argument on any subject. Boxers adopted his his motto “Comrade Napoleon is always right!” Of course Napoleon exploited this to consolidate his iron grip on absolute power with disastrous consequence to the revolution.

In a healthy and functioning democracy it is the duty of elected public officials to implement the reforms and that it is the duty of the private citizens to hold the officials to account for what the do or failed to do in public office. The duties of each are simple enough and why some people have struggle to understand this beggars believe!

The Chamisa Chete Chete brigade have the whole concept of public official and private citizen twisted. They are adamant their leader, Nelson Chamisa, is not only unaccountable to mere mortals but that the said mortal who dare to hold him to account must be silenced by hook or by crook. He/she must account for their failure to form their own political party and to implement reforms! This is just a variation on Boxer’s “Comrade Napoleon is always right!”

Of course, Zimbabwe’s hopes and dreams of ending the corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship and replacing it with a healthy and functioning democratic system is doomed! One cannot reason with someone with the IQ of a horse!

“My qn stil stands are you going to change anything? I mean you Wilbert or u js waffle.’

How stupid! So now you are holding me to account for failing to deliver the panacea but refused to hold those who were elected these last 23 years into public office on the promise they will deliver the changes the nation has been dying for! And all because I dare to hold Chamisa and company to account for selling out on reforms.

Just getting some people to understand how democracy works is proving to be mission impossible. Even simple idea like reforms to ensure free and fair elections, holding this in public office to account, etc. are becoming sources of heated debate because we have the village idiots who believe their leaders are infallible demigods who must never ever be held to account by an mortal!

Teaching these village idiots about reforms in like teaching Boxer, the horse in George Orwell’s Animal Farm, the alphabet. Boxer took just as long to learn the first 4 letter as other animals took to learn the 26 letters. He took just as long again to learn the next four but by then he had forgotten the first 4 letters. Zanu PF rigged the 2023 elections because the village idiots have failed to learn what constitute free and fair elections even after 43 years of independence and 2 500 years since the Greeks gifted mankind with democracy!

Chamisa has proven that he is corrupt and incompetent the only reason why many nZimbabweans out there still hang on to him is because they have no clue what the reforms are much less how they are to be implemented. And so to tell them Chamisa has sold out on reforms they have no clue what you talking about.

Just because the wildebeest herd has no clue why MDC leaders are corrupt and incompetent does not meaning they are competent. What it means is the herd will continue to elect them into power and thus Zanu PF will rig the elections and thus perpetuating the dictatorship and our suffering.

The price for having an ignorant and naive electorate is the failed state!
