Zimbabwe is a failed state and here is Anton Chekhov's read of "the nature of a failed society". W Mukori

THE NATURE OF A FAILED SOCIETY

When asked the Russian writer Anton Chekhov about the nature of failed societies, he replied:

"In failed societies, there are a thousand fools for each successful brain and a thousand clumsy words to counter each good advice.

"The majority are always dumb, ill-informed, egoistic and constantly dominating the rational and intelligent ones.

"They love trivializing important issues to distract them from facing their reality.

"They love holding meeting upon meetings but ensuring that each meeting is turned to throwing banters and cracking jokes to prevent diligent scrutiny of issues.

"They are led by cliques, cabals and a few unserious individuals, while the majority are disenchanted, disgruntled and uninterested.

"They're like a cult group where the gangsters are the majority.

"They thrive on extorting from a few among them who have overbloated egos and always seeking for public attention, without knowing they're being used. It's called a society of pacifiers and nonentities.

"Trivial matters are always at centre stage, and any attempt to make them face their real challenges are opposed and vehemently resisted. They're constantly living in denial.

"An example of a failed society is where, millions of people crowd themselves together every time, dancing and repeating meaningless songs and words to themselves, and turning that to a societal culture.

"In failed societies, everyone have their own opinions, which are never articulated. It's a society where constructive, sound, and workable ideas are constantly being suppressed for the mischievous cabal to keep being the dominant force.

"In failed societies, it's favoritism and rewards for patronage that's popular, while merit is sabotaged. Also, it's characterized by injustices and praise singing.

"Such societies thrive on information hoarding and secret keeping as leadership accountability is regarded as a privilege and not a right. Open conversations are frowned at and regarded as an attack against leadership. Demanding for leadership accountability is forbidden.

"Gang leaders love to quote laws in the society that's actually lawless and governed through caucus decisions. The minority are always pretending to be the majority.

"Divide and rule, rumour mongering, emotional blackmail, are the readily tools for governance. Those with honest intentions for promoting the culture of common good are quickly labelled as saboteurs and isolated, so they don't corrupt the dormant majority.

"Genuine contributors and solution providers are not known and no one gives them credit for their efforts. Failed societies lack the attitude of gratitude.

"Since the crowd love pettiness and mundane things, they love those telling them it's okay not to use their own brains to think for themselves, and prefer comedian that make them laugh with meaningless jokes, than the poet who is waking them up to reality and telling them the truth that temporarily hurts.

"Therefore, the caucus leadership called ’democracy' is not an ideal leadership model for ignorant people and unenlightened societies, because the corrupt minority will keep deciding their fate. The people must seek their own salvation and redemption from within themselves before yielding to leadership. In constructive leadership, one is not above the others, one is a member from within the body."

How true!

There is nothing wrong with universal suffrage, every one must have the right to a meaningful say in the governance of their country. The operative phrase here is "meaningful say". How can you have a meaningful say on matters you do not understand?

The ancient Greeks, who gave mankind democracy - government of the people, for the people and by the people - all these 2 500 years ago; were right, democracy only works if the people are educated, knowledgeable, objective and diligent in their sacred duty of holding leaders to account.

In Zimbabwe the populous are ignorant, naive and gullible and, no wonder, they have failed in their duty to hold leaders to account. The ruling elite have deliberately kept the masses ignorant and naive for the selfish purpose of conning the masses and avoid accountability.

Like it or not, in a country whose founding fathers only cared about absolute power and personal glory and did not care about democracy and good governance, universal suffrage has been a curse and not a blessing! And once established a failed state is hard to uproot; after 45 years, Zimbabwe's autocracy is deep rooted.

So it is ok for him to be paid millions of dollars to build Solar Power Project only to loot the money? This is not a victimless crime - millions of ordinary Zimbabweans are paying dearly for all this looting!

All you see is the few individual Chivhayo buys cars with a fraction of the looted money and you refuse to see the bigger picture. Zimbabwe has had teething power cuts problems, have you ever stopped to think how much the whole nation would have benefited from the Gwanda Solar Power generation these last ten years if the money had not been looted?

Zimbabwe is a failed state for many reasons and not least of these is we have millions of Zimbabweans who are incapable of thinking for themselves. And, worst of all, the village idiots have the vote!

@ Kennedy

True! Still the very fact that 2 million Zimbabweans in the urban centres where most of our best educated live, were conned by Chamisa to participate in flawed elections is disconcerting. He told them an idiotic lie that he had plugged all the vote rigging loop holes, and they believed him. Are we really that stupid!

@ Biti

Yes Zanu PF is keeping the rural povo poor and dependent on the party and harvesting their votes. The opposition is keep[ing the urban voters ignorant and harvesting their vote! You have conned the urban voters to participate in flawed elections knowing fully well that Zanu PF was rigging and participating will give the regime legitimacy. You are doing it out of greed!

Yet the reality remains - after 25 years, including 5 in the GNU, you have failed to implement even one token reform. The real surprise here, is that Zimbabweans have never held Chamisa and company to account allowing the likes of Chamisa to even boast at their silence!
You lied about “plugging all the vote rigging loop holes. #Godisinit!” You even evoke the name of God. And you have never even bothered to admit that was a blatant lie!

So being unaccountable is now something to even boast about!

The same process has failed to implement even one token reform in 25 years, including 5 years in the 2008 to 2013 GNU. Chamisa & Co. are cashing in on the very fact that the Zimbabwean electorate are ignorant and easily conned.

Chamisa blatantly lied about plugging the vote rigging loop holes to con Zimbabweans to participate in flawed 2023 elections. No doubt he is planing another idiotic lie come 2028 elections.

It is sickening that after betraying the nation by failing to implement even one reform in 25 years, MDC/CCC leaders are still boasting of the imaginary “change and plan”! What a nightmare!

MDC failed to implement even one token reform during the GNU, it is naive to expect them to do so now! If MDC had no plan to implement reforms during the GNU it is foolish to believe Chamisa will have a plan to do so now!

Zimbabwe is a failed state with "a thousand fools for each successful brain", as Russian Play writer Anton Chekhov would aptly put it!

A healthy and functioning democracy demands an educated, knowledgeable and objective electorate who would diligently carry out the sacred duty of holding leaders to democratic account. A thousand fools are to equal to the task and hence the reason why Zimbabwe IS a failed state. And as long as Zimbabwe remains a nation of a thousands fools, the country will remain a failed state.

There was a great opportunity to implement the reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU, if you cannot see that even now with the benefit of hindsight, you will never ever see it!

Zanu PF will never allow rural people to have title deeds to land, for the same reason Ian Smith would give them title deeds! Never!

All those who can afford it, are buying stands in the urban centres where they will have title deeds to enough land to build their match-box houses. Here they are finally free of the excess of the village heads, chiefs and other Zanu PF proxies. The land barons are Zanu PF thugs and they are abusing the people, giving them land today and tomorrow another thug comes along and declare it was all illegal and demolish their match-box with no compensation.

Let us be clear here, Zanu PF would be history by now if MDC/CCC had implemented the democratic reforms and stopped Zanu PF rigging elections. The MDC/CCC have not only failed to implemented any reforms but have instead been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy . MDC/CCC leaders are Zanu PF team B in all but name, playing for team A to win and have legitimacy.

Chamisa & Co. are set to participate in flawed 2028 elections as they have done in the past to perpetuate the Zanu PF dictatorship. It is therefore nauseating to hear Mambo Svosve and his Change Radio, Chamisa's cheer leaders, wittering about fighting Zanu PF, "Say no to 2030". Zanu PF team B fighting team A. Yeah right!

The Axe in the Forest: Unpacking the Proverb's Relevance to Blessed Geza's Story

By Danmore J Chimusoro

The ancient proverb, "When the axe came into the forest, the trees whispered, 'The handle is one of us,'" holds profound wisdom. It cautions us about the dangers of internal threats, where harm can come from within our own ranks. This proverb resonates deeply in the context of Blessed Geza's story, where his actions have sparked both fervent support and critical scrutiny.

Blessed Geza: The Perception of a Saviour

In recent times, Blessed Geza has emerged as a figure of hope for many. His activism and vocal stance on various issues have led some to regard him as a saviour, fighting tirelessly for the rights and freedoms of the people. His ability to mobilize support and galvanize action has been impressive, drawing many to his cause.

The Axe in the Forest: A Cautionary Tale

However, the proverb about the axe and the forest trees serves as a poignant reminder. Just as the trees are unaware that the axe's handle is made from one of their own, people may overlook the potential dangers posed by those they perceive as saviours. In the case of Blessed Geza, his actions and intentions might not be entirely altruistic. It is possible that his efforts, while appearing noble on the surface, could be driven by ulterior motives or even serve to further his own agenda.

A Familiar Pattern?

This situation echoes a familiar pattern in our nation's history. In 2017, we celebrated the transition of power, proclaiming that the new head of state was "one of us." Yet, in retrospect, it's clear that we may have merely replaced one authoritarian figure with another. The faces changed, but the dynamics of power remained largely intact. Let's not repeat the same mistake with Blessed Geza. As we rally behind him, we must ask ourselves: Are we truly ushering in a new era of freedom and accountability or are we simply trading one set of shackles for another?

The Handle is One of Us

This proverbial wisdom encourages us to be vigilant and discerning. As we support figures like Blessed Geza, we must critically evaluate their actions and motivations. Are they truly fighting for the greater good or are they using their influence for personal gain or to further a hidden agenda? The handle being "one of us" symbolizes the insidious nature of internal threats, where those we trust or perceive as allies might ultimately work against our best interests.

The story of Blessed Geza serves as a timely reminder to question and analyze the actions of those we look up to. While it's natural to be drawn to charismatic leaders or passionate activists, it's crucial to maintain a critical perspective. By doing so, we can ensure that our support is well-informed and that we are not inadvertently contributing to our own downfall. The wisdom of the ancient proverb remains relevant, urging us to be cautious of the "axe" among us, lest we find ourselves facing unforeseen consequences.”

The Axe in the Forest: Unpacking the Proverb's Relevance to Blessed Geza's Story

By Danmore J Chimusoro

Geza is a Zanu PF thug through and through and has been all these last 45 years. He has played his part in creating and imposing this corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship and he had his share of the spoils of power.

He is bitter because he feels he has been side lined in the sharing of the spoils of power, this comes as no surprise because as the national cake shrunk, a consequence of the gross mismanagement and rampant corruption, there was not enough to go round. The last straw that broke the camel’s back, as far as Geza was concerned was Mnangagwa’s political machination, first stay in power beyond 2023 and now amend the constitution so he can stay beyond 2028, the maximum two term limit.

Geza was clearly banking on returning to the high table once Chiwenga became president and that was all going up in smoke! No wonder he is angry.

“I want Mnangagwa to fire all this people he has appointed as ministers. We don’t know where they came from. And replace them with war veterans. I too want to be a minister and have a big car and body guards. I am tired of being used as a political condom!” He told Journalist Blessed Mhlanga in one of the explosive interviews!

The bottom line is, Geza is not against the Zanu PF dictatorship nor the injustice it has inflicted on the ordinary Zimbabweans, he is only acknowledging these to win the trust of the masses. His beef is with Mnangagwa and the cabal around him, he want them replaced by Chiwenga & Co.

Chiwenga is a seasoned Zanu PF thug and will never risk losing power by implementing democratic reforms; Geza knows that only too well! Anyone who believes Chiwenga will dismantle the dictatorship is naive, the more foolish since this is a repeat of the 2017 military coup.

Geza is not the axe to the forest, povo. He is the hyena booted out of the hyena clan, promising the goats that he will be a vegetarian to win the support of the goats!

It is evident, you do not know that the 2008 to 2013 GNU was Zimbabwe’s golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms and that Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends failed to implement even one token reform. I do not know why you do not know even these elementary details.

@ Nomazulu

“Master of Philosophies say the same thing: without the backing of intelligenzia, there can never be remarkable national development. A Geza revolution is not backed by intelligenzia but by pastors, Izangoma, and prophets equipped with biblical verses with zero academic input. Listening to one media forum chatting about multiple possibilities, social, economic political changes must be made in the event of an inevitable regime collapse: two scenarios from different backgrounds were suggested: one, a street-smart scenario and two, some tried and tested National Transitional Authority. Professor Mandaza et al deliberated NTA as a solution to the quagmire; a nation at the edge of a civil war and a total collapse. The street- smart option has limitations: what is suggested remains in the air. There is no documentation for presentations in case of all eventualities. Professor PLO Lumumba of Kenya was dead right when he said, voters in Africa have affinity for leaders without ideas. Their disdain for intelligent ideas from boardrooms becomes a problem for development. In any revolutionary transformations, intelligentsia is of paramount importance because they are able to chat the way forward in a collapsing political, economic and social situation. Zimbabwe is at the edge of precipice. Several examples in the continent informs what will happen in Zimbabwe soon. Sudan is still fighting a civil war of 2 years. Geza is pushing us to a civil war.

Professor Mandaza wrote a passionate article on Bulawayo24, introducing an NTA to the nation, how an NTA could be a solution to imminent danger of government collapse. This noble suggestion was attacked, left, right and centre by Geza group, openly claiming it is their CHUNHU CHAVO. They talk about the Geza revolution is highjacked by intelligentsia. It happened in a matter of two days that lecturer from tertiary institutes staged a successful demonstration, threatening to shut down the entire nation. Mandaza and others are accused of high jacking the Geza revolution. Unbelievable how the gullible make such unfounded accusations: high jacking Geza's cause; chunhu chavo. The Geza revolution failed to ignite spectacularly. He had to terminate demonstrations today because there were no meaningful strategies on the ground to ignite a strong movement. The Geza is mourning the brainchild that has just died: they truly believe Mandaza et al can high jack a corpse: to do what with a dead snake; said Jacob Zuma.

I read Mandaza's article in detail and I advise anyone to make time to do it. I am sure the final document is equally comprehensive. It is not true that an NTA is new to Zimbabwean politics. In 2016, a similar NTA document was introduced by Mandaza, but was terminated by a coup in 2017. I was truly impressed when I realized that he resuscitated the NTA idea again. I truly believe the current political discourse needs a well-researched NTA document

to lean on in case of all eventualities, a civil war. When International organisations come to rescue Zimbabwe from a civil war, Mandaza et al can easily produce this professionally written document that will lay a foundation for a new administration, to replace the Zanu government.

Mandaza contends that "the establishment of a National Transitional Authority is to prepare the ground for a durable peace and national prosperity". The NTA proposal is nation-wide represented, never documented by academics, exclusively. It is a political document that would create channels for meaningful participation in rebuilding the country. Said Mandaza. The pillars of an NTA document are summarized as follows: Quote:

@ Nomazulu

First, restoring constitutional governance and rebuilding respect for our constitution across all institutions.

Second, reforming key institutions - particularly the judiciary, security sector, and electoral commission - to guarantee their independence and professionalism

3. Third, transforming our electoral framework to ensure future elections are not just free but legitimate and uncontested.

4. Finally, stabilizing our economy through comprehensive reforms addressing debt, monetary policy, land rights, and productive capacity.

"The NTA would replace both executive and legislature for three to five years with a singular mandate: undertaking the comprehensive reforms necessary to restore Zimbabwe to stability and set the stage for genuine democracy. Close quote. Mandaza's article does not exclude anyone from participating in the NTA. Those who want to be part of it are welcome to do so. I realize that common people detest professionalism and academic excellence. Personally, I saw the first document that Mandaza in 2016, before the coup in November 2017. Nothing much appears to have changed in the document. It disturbs one to realize how the NEW IN TOWN Geza revolution would want NTA to sink, never to be taken on board as the solution to our national crisis.

The Geza revolution is not offering much in terms of regime change. Reading much in his utterances, Geza personalized his regime change to centre around him. He hoped for a repeat of 2017. It was not possible because he forgot that it was Mnangagwa's script that put Mugabe down and the coup was successful. Geza has young people around him. History will tell you that it's not enough to stage a coup with intelligent people. Mnangagwa has been in this game for 45 years. He is not the brightest star in the universe; however, you cannot beat him with experience. Again, it's not easy to tell Geza that his trajectory was wrong from the onset. Geza's child-like mentality was evident. How do you announce a demonstration 6 months in advance. This made many people think Geza is not serious. Immediately after

Easter, he announced a "stay away" demo. It was a time after the holiday. Geza does not know that Zimbabwe economy is "hand to mouth". No family can risk just one day without selling tomatoes ever to put food on the table, evidence that Geza does not know the daily realities of struggling and sacrifice on the ground; how families' day-to-day lives look like. If Geza suggested a demonstration, the opposite was executed by the people, literally defying his authority, not spoken, but effective, leaving him embarrassed.

To musk the embarrassment, Geza doubled down thereby sinking further into the political abyss. Again, Geza maintained his allegiance to Zanu PF. On several occasions Geza rebuked whoever terminated his membership in Zanu PF. This factually meant that Geza saw the party Zanu as his infrastructure base; There was no need for him to create a new political base for his revolution: It means those who supported the Geza revolution became de facto Zanu PF members inadvertently, the gullibility of following without thinking. About 95 activists are rotting in jails for following a cause that did not belong to them. I can bet with my last penny in the kitty, those jailed activists are not Zanu – just disposables fit to be sent on errands by sly politicians like Geza, they did not even understand the political undercurrents comprehensively behind a serious reprimand by non either than Mnangagwa himself. I daily pray for their release. I have written a passioned letter appealing to the UN Secretary General, Mr. Antony Guterres, to intervene in releasing the 95 activists and journalist, Mr. Mhlanga, from prisons.

This the "case of the pot calling the kettle black”

Ever since the 2008 to 2013 GNU debacle Zanu PF has learned that the party can still continue to enjoy its carte blanche dictatorial powers and get away with it as long as the opposition participate in the flawed elections in numbers. The party has allows MDC/CCC leaders to win a few gravy train seats, to entice them to participate in the flawed elections no matter how flawed and illegal the election process gets.

In 2018 Mnangagwa created POLAD, a platform to reward losing presidential candidate and thus encourage them to participate in cute elections.

According to Jealousy Mawarire, Nelson Chamisa was paid US$20 million for his idiotic lie of plugging all vote rigging loop holes to entice 2 million CCC supporters to participate in 2023 elections. Common sense will dictate that MDC/CCC leaders had the opportunity to implement the reforms. One has to question why anyone with half a brain would ask some one who had no opportunity to implement the reforms why he/she failed to do so and yet shy away from asking those who were entrusted to do so?

Of course, I am right to demand that MDC/CCC leaders account for failing to implement even one reform in 25 years. And will never be silenced by a village idiots hell bent on stifling meaningful debate and democratic discourse!

Zanu PF has been rigging elections for the purpose of staying in power. MDC/CCC have been participating in flawed and illegal elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy elections out of greed.

You should be part of the progressive forces of which this hullabaloo of bringing the dead in this trying to smear a hate campaign on an individual is definitely a Zanu pf way of clinging on to power. You're serving Zanu pf and not the people.
Alas.”

Zimbabwe is a failed state because we have village idiots who will never face facts. You do not want to accept that MDC leaders failed to implement even one token reform during the GNU and do not want to hear the truth said. You are accusing me of “blame game” of making “unnecessary noise” just to silence me.

If MDC leaders did implement the reforms and I am lying, then please tell us what reforms they implemented and why Zanu PF continues to blatantly rig elections?

The truth is you do not know what the reforms are much less how they are implemented and that MDC leaders had the golden opportunity to implement them during the GNU. You are just a village idiot with little intellect. Your tribal mentality dictates that you must defend Chamisa and can bear to hear him questioned. To you he is a demigod who can do no wrong.

How anyone can consider a mere mortal, especially one with a proven track record of being corrupt and incompetent like Chamisa, a demigod in this day and age beggars belief. No wonder Zimbabwe is a failed state - we have more than our fair share of village idiots like you, millions of them, and they have the vote!

“You are serving Zanu PF and not the people!” So you think your demigod was servicing the people by conning them to participate in flawed elections by lying that he plugged all the vote rigging loop holes to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuating the nation’s suffering? Fcuk me!

MDC leaders failed to implement even one token reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU because Mugabe bribed them with the trappings of high office; the E-Class Mercedes Benz, very generous salaries and allowances, US$4 million mansion for Save himself, etc., etc.

Mnangagwa squandered US$5 billion, at least, on bribes in the 2023 elections. And so it will not be a surprise he paid Chamisa US$ 20m for the idiotic lie to con people to participate in the flawed elections. Pretty good wages for a Zanu PF team B player, playing for Mnangagwa victory and legitimacy.

Why are you frothing and fuming to hear Chamisa was paid US$20 m? Is it because you cannot reconcile the reality with your demigod image of Chamisa? Even now with the country up to her eyes in trouble, you still refuse to accept that Chamisa is a fallible mortal. What a flatulent nincompoop!

If you want Zanu PF to go and yet do not need democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections, then tell us how you will achieve this objective?

Tsvangirai and company called their party MDC, Movement for Democratic Change, what democratic changes were they talking about? And how many of those changes have they brought in 25 years?

When the Russian play writer Anton Chekhov was asked about the nature of failed societies, he replied:

"In failed societies, there are a thousand fools for each successful brain and a thousand clumsy words to counter each good advice.

"The majority are always dumb, ill-informed, egoistic and constantly dominating the rational and intelligent ones.

"Trivial matters are always at centre stage, and any attempt to make them face their real challenges are opposed and vehemently resisted. They're constantly living in denial.”

Zimbabwe is a failed state and we certainly have our one million village idiots to one sane and rational mind!

Even now, with the benefit of hindsight, you still have no clue what the democratic reforms are much less that the 2008 to 2013 GNU was the golden opportunity to implement the reforms and MDC leaders sold out.

South Africa's ANC played a key role in making sure Zanu PF was not denied political legitimacy although SADC and AU condemned Zimbabwe's 2023 election as flawed. ANC promised the party would not accept regime change in Zimbabwe - a green light to Zanu PF to rig the elections.

One of these fine days the full story of how ANC has undermined efforts to hold free, fair and credible elections in Zimbabwe will be known. Meanwhile it should be noted that the ordinary people have paid dearly for ANC's blatant betrayal.

Botswana is an upper middle income nation and has enjoyed 40 years of economic growth. The country has rich mineral resources, notably diamonds, plus good governance.

Zimbabwe WAS an upper middle income nation in 1980 and has had 45 years of economic decline. The country has vast mineral resources but, alas, cursed with bad governance. Both the ruling party and opposition leaders are corrupt and incompetent a situation made worse by having one of the most ignorant and gullible electorate on earth. Both Zanu PF and MDC/CCC leaders have taken advantage of the ignorant populous to con them to do their dirty bidding.

Zimbabweans have participated in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and to win a few gravy train seats for CCC at the expense of perpetuating the dictatorship their own suffering. Zimbabweans DO NOT deserve good governance and are paying dearly for their folly of failing to ensure free and fair elections.

You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Mutambara and his MDC friends hobnobbed with the late dictator Mugabe during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. They sold out and failed to implement even one token democratic reform - the primary task of the GNU. By selling out on reforms, MDC leaders were not serving the national, political party or even their own long term selfish interest!

You mean we need new looters because you are already in campaign mode. You have been participating in flawed elections since 2018 knowing fully well that Zanu PF was rigging and that participating would give the regime legitimacy. You and your fellow CCC fiends have soldiered on regardless because you were after the few gravy train seats Zanu PF was offering as bait.

Even when SADC and AU condemned the 2023 elections as flawed you went ahead and took up your gravy train seat because you did not care that the country had illegitimate leaders as long as you got your chance to loot.

The present political electoral system is "so flawed, so illegal the only rational step is to withdraw", as David Coltart readily confessed in his book. It will never ever produce quality leaders. Never!

The only reason why we still have rigged elections even after 45 years of independence is because we have an electorate that is ignorant, naive and gullible. They have been con again and again to participate in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy, give the opposition the few gravy train seats and perpetuate their own suffering.

Why the people have failed to see the sheer folly of participating in flawed elections to perpetuate their own suffering speaks volumes of their intellectual disability. We have the misfortune of having millions out there who are brain dead and, crown it all, we have politicians on both sides of the political divide conning the people at every turn!

Zanu PF blatantly rigged the 2023 elections, just as the regime has rigged past elections, because we never learn from our past mistakes.

We are “moving ahead with our devolved and development trajectory” you say. Really? What development are you wittering about? The country is a failed state and has been in economic and political decline for the last 45 years.

@ Kraidos

Address the issues raised! Did Mahere & Co. KNOW that without reforms Zanu PF will rigged the elections and that participating will give Zanu PF legitimacy? Of course, they did! They participated regardless out of greed. Here is a quotation from David Coltart confessing these things.

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

Of course, Mahere & Co. are sell-outs and MUST be held to account for it.

These facts have been explained to people like you but it has been all water off the duck's back. You do not only have the intellect to understand what is going on but like all nincompoops you want to impose your foolishness on others. All those in public office are accountable to the people and that includes CCC leaders - that is NOT negotiable.

Swapping one dictator for another! Of course, it would be very foolish indeed for the nation to fall into the same trap yet again.

Geza has had three months to explain to the nation how the Geza revolution will be different from the 2017 coup. He has been very careful not to repeat that the revolution would seek to replace Mnangagwa with Chiwenga and that it was Operation Restore Legacy Mark 2, "Chinhu chedu!", in all but name. The revolution is being spear headed by individuals who subscribe to the notion that as the liberation war veterans they are entitled to certain privileges including a veto on who governs the country.

If the Geza revolution succeeded Chiwenga will replace Mnangagwa and he will have no qualms rigging the next elections to consolidate his iron grip on power. Only a village idiot would therefore support the Geza revolution.

He told them an idiotic lie that CCC will win big because he plugged all the vote rigging loop holes. And they believed him! How can a referral hospital like Parerenyatwa have no ventilator? If a referral hospital does not have such basic equipment what more provincial and district hospitals!

Zanu PF squandered US$ 10m on Gokwe Independence Day celebrations alone (it was hard to see what exactly the money had bought). What a criminal waste of money!

It is ironic that the nation has risked all to elect MDC/CCC leaders for the express purpose of implementing the democratic reforms to ensure Zanu PF and all the country's leaders ARE democratically accountable to the people.

So instead of implementing the reforms to dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship MDC/CCC have copied Zanu PF's dirty and tyrannical practices to create yet another political monster in Zanu PF's image.

MDC/CCC leaders like Coltart and Biti admit it but there die-hard Chamisa supporters who will never admit it. Never!

Yes some American voters did believe that Trump would end the Ukraine war in a day. After 100 days the war is still going on. I do thing any American would be stupid enough to say Trump ended the war in one day! There are millions of Zimbabweans who were conned to believe MDC/CCC would win RIGGED elections and they have believed it again and again since 2013! How anyone can compare the two set of voters beggars belief!

@ Mash

“Good analysis, my question is why are the brilliant minds who can make brilliant decisions not in leadership position?”

The question you should be asking is: Why did 2 million Zimbabweans, mostly in the urban centres and so they were not so easily coerced as the rural voters and most of them have done "O" level or better so they are educated, vote for Chamisa regardless of his documented track record as corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless?

I believe Sikosana Moyo was by a long country mile far better presidential candidate in the 2018 elections but he had no more than a few hundred thousand votes. The educated urban voters ignored him.

How many times have Zimbabwean been warned on the sheer folly of participating in flawed elections, “so flawed, so illegal, the only logical step is to withdraw,” confessed David Coltart? Coltart and his fellow MDC/CCC leaders ignored the warning because of greed as he readily admitted.

Even if you had the Albert Einstein of political leaders, an ignorant, naive and gullible electorate that is easily con to participate in flawed elections for the umpteenth time to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate their own suffering will not listen to Einstein! There are competent men and women in Zimbabwe whose talents are being wasted because we have a society that is not geared to recognise talent and is very wasteful. And, to crown it all, most of our people are brain dead and so are impermeable to reason and not even the reality of their own suffering has any effect on that lot!

“They are touchable but if they really sold out my point stands come up with a new organization that will have no mercy and bring about the so called reforms,,, CCC or MDC you are very sure they won't do things your ways.”

You keep jumping the gun. MDC/CCC leaders failed to implement even one token reform and hence the reason why Zanu PF continues to blatantly rig the elections. They sold out these last 35 years and yet continue to get away with it, they have millions of supporters out there - proof the Zimbabwe electorate do not care Zanu PF has rigged elections these last 45 years! They have been conned to participate in flawed elections on the basis of idiotic lies that the opposition will win RIGGED elections.

You are the one calling for “a new organisation that will implement the reforms”. Chamisa and company and their brain dead followers do NOT need reforms because they have strategies to win RIGGED elections.

Come 2028 Chamisa and company will have another idiotic lie lined up. The people will be conned to participate and thus perpetuate the dictatorship and their own suffering.

Indeed, MDC/CCC leaders have called on their critics to form their own political party and a way to avoid democratic accountability. Just because their brain dead followers cannot hold them to account does not mean we too should do the same.

Indeed by holding these failed leaders to account we are giving the brain dead followers the chance to open their eyes and see Chamisa & Co. for whom they really are! All leaders must be accountable to the people is key to a healthy and functioning democracy. MDC/CCC must be held to account whether one forms a new party or not!

So you think CCC was doing you a great favour participating the flawed to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate your suffering? How naive!

Well, he was right and hence the reason why Zimbabwe is a failed state. We are a nation whose destiny has been in the hands of very stupid leaders and they have been in charge for 45 years and it shows!

South Africa's worsening economic situation is the root cause of the xenophobia attacks of black foreigners by South Africans. SA has not been spared the economic decline, the post independence curse that has befallen most African countries, and the locals' knee-jerk reaction is to blame the foreigners for their economic hardships. Increased political instability and economic meltdown in countries such as Zimbabwe will force more and more Zimbabweans to cross the border and thus increasing the economic hardships. Opening the flood gate to the economic and political refugees will not end the xenophobia attacks.

If leaders like Mnangagwa have clearly failed to govern the single country like Zimbabwe it is naive they will do a better job governing the region much less the continent. Mnangagwa was tickled silly being named Chairman of SADC; how he wished he was king of SADC!

@ Traore

This is just nonsense! It gudo guru himself not one of the Zanu PF corrupt elite? Mnangagwa failed to stamp out corruption in 2017 because he benefited from the corruption. Gudo guru is just as corrupt and only the naive can fail to see replacing Mnangagwa with Chiwenga will change nothing!

@ Alvin K

You cannot even answer a simple question: Was CCC doing you a favour by conning you to participate in a flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy? Were you being clever believing the idiotic lie that Chamisa plugged all the vote rigging loop holes?

It is certain, that millions will once again be conned to participate in 2028 elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the nation's suffering. And no doubt you think you will be teaching me a lesson!

It is easier drawing a camel through the eye of a needle than educating some one who is brain dead!

@ Alvin K

And you have acted wisely by participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate your own suffering.

If your right to vote means perpetuating your own suffering then that right is but a curse!

However, you do not need to worry; stupidity has benefits. The stupid are not tormented by reality because they are too stupid to comprehend the truth.

You comprehend the tragic human suffering but not that you are the authors of your own suffering. You have never comprehended the sheer folly of participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate your own suffering.

The truth is there for all to see, many see it but never comprehend it. You will never ever comprehend the truth. Never!

@ Change Radio

Democracy - government of the people, for the people and by the people - only works when the said "people are educated, knowledgeable and objective so that they are best able to carry out their most sacred duty to hold the leaders to democratic account" as the ancient Greeks aptly put it.

Chamisa blatantly lied to the people to con them to participated in the flawed 2023 elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the nation's suffering. This was not the first time that Chamisa has conned the people with these idiotic winning rigged elections lies.

These Chamisa chete chete brigade, 2 million of them voted for Chamisa in 2023, have never ever held Chamisa to democratic account for all the blatant betrayals and the idiotic lies.

Instead of educating the people and reminding them of their sacred duty of holding leaders to account, Change Radio, has been the cheer leader in brainwashing the people to worship leaders and to forget their sacred duty of holding leaders to account.

"Siyanai naye Chamisa!" the people chant. Why? So Chamisa is untouchable. He conned the nation with his idiotic lies and he is being left untouched so he can con the nation once again to participate in the flawed 2028 elections!

ChAMISA LIED TO THE PEOPLE THAT HE HAD "PLUGGED ALL THE VOTE RIGGING LOOP HOLES" TO CON THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN 2023 ELECTIONS TO GIVE ZANU PF LEGITIMACY AND THUS PERPETUATING THE DICTATORSHIP AND THE NATION'S SUFFERING. OF COURSE, HE MUST BE HELD TO ACCOUNT.

DEMOCRACY ONLY WORKS IF THE PEOPLE ARE EDUCATED, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND DILIGENT IN THEIR SACRED DUTY OF HOLDING LEADERS TO ACCOUNT.

CHANGE RADIO MUST MUST EDUCATE THE PEOPLE AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO DILIGENTLY CARRY OUT THEIR SACRED DUTY AND NOT BRAINWASH THEM INTO BELIEVE LEADERS LIKE CHAMISA ARE DEMIGODS WHO MUST NEVER BE HELD TO ACCOUNT.

MAMBO SVOSVE STOP THE "CHAMISA MUNOVENGERAYI" NONSENSE. HOLDING CHAMISA TO ACCOUNT IS NOT TANTAMOUNT TO HATING HIM!

Zimbabwe Light said...

@ Digne

Yes SADC exposed ZEC but they also exposed Chamisa’s lie of having plugged all the vote rigging loop holes. These people should be holding Chamisa to account for lying but are instead those who are doing so, accusing them of hating Chamisa!

As long as we have brainwashed voters we risk millions of them being conned to participate in 2028 elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuating the dictatorship.

Zimbabwe Light said...

"Chamisa's efforts to reform the electoral process were genuine, but systemic constraints and ZEC's limitations hindered progress. SADC's report highlights ZEC's flaws, but it's unfair to solely blame Chamisa for not plugging rigging loopholes. As a political leader, Chamisa worked within the existing framework to push for reforms. Now that he's exited politics, it's crucial to demand accountability from those responsible for looting national resources and perpetuating corruption, rather than solely focusing on past electoral issues."

People should demand proper health care and good sanitation from the government instead of chasing Chamisa who left politics long time ago.”

It is very sad that anyone still has no clue what happened during the GNU, even now with the benefit of hindsight.

What “systemic constraints” stopped MDC leaders from implementing even one toke reform during the GNU?

Why has Chamisa and company been participating in flawed elections knowing Zanu PF was rigging and that participating will give the regime legitimacy? Indeed Chamisa even conned the people to participate with his idiotic lies of plugging all the vote rigging loop holes!

If these brain dead supporters do not understand that Chamisa lied to them and continue to think he did nothing wrong what will stop some one conning them yet again, even if Chamisa does not come back?

Go ahead hold those looting the nation’s resources to account. Who is stopping you? Why are you so keen to silence those holding Chamisa to account? Is it because you too believe those who dare hold Chamisa to account HATE him?

No wonder we are a failed state. What hope is there of ever have a healthy democratic system when we cannot even grasp simple and basic concept such as all leaders must be accountable to the people! The ancient Greeks formulated these concepts 2 500 years ago, we are not being asked to reinvent the wheel only to apply it and even that is too much.

@ Attack

"Is Chamisa the only one who participated in those elections. Your hatred won't help you and your family with anything."

Zimbabwe is a failed state for many reasons and one of them is that we have very ignorant, naive and gullible citizens. These ignorant citizen are a easily gullible and are easily conned.

In Zimbabwe the ignorant citizens number in their millions forming a large pool of voters who can be easily conned to do the bidding of leaders. Both Zanu PF and MDC/CCC have taken full advantage of this. The leaders are the boss, the demigods here and the concept of the people holding the leaders to democratic account is out of the window.

Zimbabwe is a failed state because we have failed to hold the corrupt, incompetent and murderous tyrants who have ruled the country these last 45 years to account much less vote them out of office.

Democracy will never work in Zimbabwe we have millions of nincompoops and they have the vote. Universal suffrage is a curse in a country like Zimbabwe with a large pool of ignorant voters and political leaders preying on them like hyenas!

"Your hatred won't help you and your family with anything!" you said. How naive! So you think your blind loyalty to either Zanu PF buffoons and/or MDC/CCC sell outs has helped you, your and the nation at large? And you think by electing a liar like Chamisa and defending him you are punishing me!

Minister Machakaire pleads with Mnangagwa to visit Zimbabwe's public healthcare institution to see for himself the suffering of the ordinary people. How naive! Of course, Mnangagwa knows that Zimbabwe's healthcare has all but collapsed! The collapse did not happen in the last few months or years, it started soon after independence.

Zimbabwe's health care will never revive as long as Zimbabwe remains a pariah state ruled by corrupt and murderous thugs in power because they rig elections. Mnangagwa rigged 2023 elections, he is illegitimate and, no beating about the bush, he must go!
