If Tsvangirai, Mujuru or Mugabe are not even part of the solution then who is?

“If a coalition of the opposition parties as proposed by Vince Musewe is not the solution to Zimbabwe’s political and economic crisis; then what is the solution?” many people have asked.

 

The solution to Zimbabwe’s political and economic mess is simple enough; we must dismantle the corrupt and oppressive Zanu PF dictatorship and replace it with a health and functioning democratic system of government. Do that and overnight we will end the political oppression and restored all the individual freedoms and human rights and dignity. The economic recovery will take some time but we can honestly say the process of rebuilding the country ruined economy will have started in earnest.

 

The only sure way to dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship was to implement all the democratic reforms in the 2008 GPA. Tsvangirai and his MDC friends had five years to implement the reforms but failed to get even one reform implemented. Not one!

 

So we are still in this political and economic mess brought on by the corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship because MDC failed to implement the reforms. It is very important that people realize this because a clear understanding of this fact is important to the understanding why Tsvangirai and MDC cannot be part of the solution, below. Understanding of this fact is also necessary to understanding why we must go back to the 2008 GPA reform.

 

To start with the last point first; if MDC failed to implement even one of the 2008 GPA reform then it follows that if we still want to dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship, which we do, then we must implement the reforms.

 

As regards whether or not Tsvangirai and his MDC friends can ever be part of the solution whether or not they join to form a coalition. If Vince Musewe accepted that these guys are indeed corrupt and incompetent (this is self-evident from the historic GNU facts on the ground and which some MDC leaders like Tendai Biti have admitted and called the “collective idiocy” of MDC leaders). The reader is reminded that the only way to dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship is by implementing the 2008 GPA reforms. Then it follows as day follows night that Tsvangirai and his MDC friends are corrupt and incompetent and therefore cannot be trusted to implement the reforms even if they were given a second.

 

As if to settle the question of trust once and once for all; Tsvangirai has already come up with the watered down versions of the democratic reform he would want implemented. Tsvangirai’s reforms will never end the State president’s undemocratic strangle hold Mugabe has on the Police for example.

 

So if Tsvangirai has already failed to implement the 2008 GPA reforms and is proposing to implement watered down versions which will NOT dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship; how can anyone then say MDC can be a part of the solution.

 

Mugabe and his Zanu PF created this de facto one-party dictatorship, it is their baby, and therefore they will never want it dismantles. So Mugabe and his mafia are definitely ruled out partners in our search for a democratic Zimbabwe.

Joice Mujuru, Didymus Mutasa and the rest in the People First group are Zanu PF in everything but name. So they too must be ruled out as position players in our search for a solution.

 

“So if we cannot vote for Tsvangirai or Mujuru; who the devil should we vote for?” some people will be asking, with increasing impatience and panic!

 

I would like to ask these people to indulge me for one minute and allow me to answer by asking them a question of my own. How would you know the person I name can be trusted to implement all the reforms? 

 

The first we must accomplish if we are serious about dismantling the Zanu PF dictatorship to make sure that a significant slice of the Zimbabwean people, at least, understand what the reforms are how they can be implemented. The only when the electorate know what the reforms are about and how they can be implemented will they also know who can be trusted to carry out this important task.

 

Zimbabwe’s next elections are set for 2018. We have wasted the last two years arguing endless on the suitability of failed leaders like Tsvangirai, Mujuru, etc. as possible opposition leaders going forward. They are NOT suitable and let us move on.

 

The next thing is for people to understand what the 2008 GPA reforms are and then start demanding their implementation. Zanu PF is already feeling the pressure to accept meaningful reform from the worsening economic meltdown; the political pressure from the people demanding the implementation of ALL the 2008 democratic reforms will convince the regime that there is nowhere out except accepting reforms.

 

The period during which the reforms are implemented will open up the country’s stifling political system to democratic debate and competition and from this quality leaders will emerge.

 

In short therefore the solution to ending the Zanu PF dictatorship and with it the political oppression and economic meltdown is in four parts:

 

1. We must implement the 2008 GPA reforms which MDC should have implemented during the GNU but failed to get even one reform implemented.
    
2. We must accept that Tsvangirai and his MDC friends failed to get even one reform implemented throughout the five years of the GNU because they are corrupt and incompetent and it is naïve to believe they will do any better next time.
    
3. The Zimbabwe electorate must understand the GPA reforms to put effective pressure on Mugabe and Zanu PF to accept their full implementation.
    
4. During the implementation of the reforms quality leaders will emerge. The next elections can only be held AFTER all the 2008 GPA reforms are fully implemented.
    

If there are some out there who have doubt in the above proposal as a way out of the political and economic hell Zimbabwe is in then this is my parting shot. Name one country in the world that has/had a naïve and gullible electorate as we have in Zimbabwe that has emerged from a corrupt and tyrannical dictatorship to have healthy and functioning democracy? It is naïve to think for one minute that Zimbabwe will be that odd ball!

Mnangagwa - Tsvangirai GNU mark2 is modern day Smith - Muzorewa internal settlement!

The details of the secret talks between Zanu PF and MDC-T are coming. VP Mnangagwa will take from Mugabe in August 2016 and Tsvangirai will be enticed to join the new GNU mark 2 with an offer VP post plus a number of ministerial positions for his mates.

 

“The grand aim is to destroy Joice Mujuru's threats of forming an alliance with Tsvangirai in 2018, while using the MDC-T to canvass for economic recovery and foreign investment from it's Western allies," reported The Telescope quoting a Zanu-PF legislator from Mashonaland West.

MDC failed “to canvass for economic recovery and foreign investment from it’s Western allies” during the 2008 to 2013 GNU so what makes Zanu PF believe Tsvangirai will do so this time.

 

In June 2009, just a few months after taking oath of as Prime Minister of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Tsvangirai set out on a grand tour of the major Western Capitals to canvass for the lifting of the targeted sanctions against Mugabe and those in his inner circle and for economic assistance. The sanctions stayed and Tsvangirai came back without a single dollar in his begging bowl because none of the Western leaders were convinced Mugabe had embraced democratic values as Tsvangirai insisted.

 

By failing to get even one single democratic reform implemented during the five years of the GNU Tsvangirai and his MDC friends lost all political credibility with most of the international community included SADC leaders. Indeed the latter complained that MDC leaders “were enjoying themselves and forgot why they were in the GNU” is sheer frustration at the MDC’s incompetence.

 

The proposed new GNU may achieve its object of stopping a Mujuru – Tsvangirai coalition but nothing more. The Western governments will certainly not be fooled into believe Zanu PF has abandoned its corrupt and tyrannical ways.

 

As for the ordinary people of Zimbabwe, we must reject this new political marriage of convenience because the two partners will never implement ALL the democratic reforms agreed in the 2008 GPA designed to dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship. Tsvangirai has already come up with the watered down list of reforms which MDC is demanding must be implemented.

 

If we want free, fair and credible elections; we would be foolish to demand anything less since they are the pre-requisite for healthy and functional democratic system of government; then we need ALL the 2008 GPA democratic reforms and not some watered down reforms implemented fully. One will have to be very naïve and gullible to believe Tsvangirai and Mnangagwa will ever fully implement ALL the 2008 GPA reforms. Not even if they were given a thousand years to do it!

 

We have waited for 35 years already for our first free, fair and credible elections; we should not accept waiting another day more! If there is one thing we must get right once and once for all at lost last it is to restore the basic and fundamental right of every Zimbabwean to a meaningful free and democratic vote not only for this generation but for all time! 

 

If Mnangagwa thinks Zimbabweans will the enthralled to hear that Mugabe is finally retiring and fall behind this GNU Mark 2 then he will have to think again. Yes Mugabe was the figure head of the Zanu PF dictatorship but we are smart enough to know that this Zanu PF dictatorship will grow a new head and thrive. We want the GPA reforms fully implemented and completely dismantle the dictatorship and we will fools to entrust him to carry out this important and critical task.

 

Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF friends must step down and allow an independent body to implement all the GPA reforms and then supervise the holding of free, fair and credible elections. Only a new government emerging from these elections will have the mandate of the people of Zimbabwe and the confidence and support of the whole international community to address the country’s teething political and economic problem.

 

The economic hardships brought on Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown are real and getting worse all the time. The economic situation is socially and politically unsustainable and Zanu PF must accept the reforms now and not waste time in this modern day version of the Ian Smith – Abel Muzorewa internal settlement!

War Vets want Mujuru "forgiven" for factionalism little do they know she is NOT the sinner!

When Zimbabweans went to war to end white colonial exploitation and oppression that was simple enough; what was not clear was what kind of political system the country was going to have in its place. We have never taken the trouble to define where we were going and how we were going to get there. We did not have a vision. We assumed that black majority rule, without saying what this animal was, would deliver freedom, liberty, human rights, economic prosperity, etc., etc. and we will all live happily ever after.

 

 

“A nation without a vision is lost!” wrote Magari Mandebvu in The Zimbabwean. After 35 years of independence we are truly lost. The nation is economic ruins and the political chaos exemplified by the dog-eat-dog in fighting in the ruling Zanu PF party, is threatening to drag the nation into the abyss.

 

The Zimbabwean has reported of sharp differences in the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA), underlining the tragic danger of sending out men and women to risk all for a cause but with no clearly defined value system and vision.

 

“There is a silent war among the war veterans. One group is arguing that Mujuru and other comrades must be taken back,” ZNLWVA member told The Zimbabwean. “They insist that no sin is too big and some of them have actually been in contact with senior members of the People First movement to try and persuade them to ask for forgiveness and return. They think that Mujuru must be allowed back.”

 

Sin! So what sin did Mai Mujuru commit? These War Vets believe she has committed a sin because they have no clue what the elective congress was about.

 

On paper Zanu PF is supposed to hold elective congress where the top four positions in the party are filled by congress delegates in a free vote. But ever since Mugabe assumed the leadership of the party in 1975 he has engineered everything to ensure his name was the only one in the hat for the top post and then, instead of congress election the remaining three positions he has always ended nominating the candidates.

 

The first time when it appeared as if congress delegates were going to have a vote was 2004 when the party needed to fill the VP post after the death of Simon Muzenda. Mnangagwa had amassed support from six out of the ten party provinces, he was set to win. But just before the congress, Mugabe unilaterally and unconstitutional added a clause to the party’s constitution demanding that at least one of the top four position was to be a woman.

 

So once again Mugabe, by hook and by crook, ended up subverting the democratic process so that he appointed Mai Mujuru making her beholden to him.

 

In 2004 elective congress things were set to be radically different because this time Mai Mujuru had amassed eight out of the ten provinces behind. If Mugabe allowed the election to take place this would be the first in the party’s history that the party would have one of the top four position, other than his position, will a popular membership mandate. He did not want this to happen so he had to do something to stop the elections.

 

He accused Mai Mujuru of “factionalism”; getting 8 out 10 provinces behind her was now a crime, a sin, called factionalism. Ten years ago when Mnangagwa had amassed 6 out of 10 provinces behind him it was not a crime because Mugabe had devised a dirty scheme to stop him being elected. This time he decided that canvasing for support would be a crime.

 

Mai Mujuru and her supporters are the victims of Mugabe’s total disregard of the party’s constitution; they are not the sinners but rather Mugabe sinned against them by accusing them of this fictitious crime called factionalism.

 

Even those War Vets like Jabulani Sibanda whose had supported Mujuru going into the congress and thus found themselves being purged out of the Zanu PF under the same charge of factionalism are just as confused!

 

“As People First, our mandate is to unite the people of Zimbabwe, no matter who they are,” Sibanda told The Zimbabwean. “We will be working with all the other political parties to ensure that this country goes back to the founding values of freedom and justice.

 

“If you walk into Zanu (PF), these values are now non-existent. We might have had problems with Tsvangirai in the past, but we are prepared to give him a chance as we are of the opinion that people change with time. We can’t judge him on the basis of history.”

 

Until the purge Jabulani Sibanda had considered MDC and the other opposition parties that he is now embracing the enemy and the only thing that had changed here is that he had been purged out of Zanu PF. If he had understood the “founding values of freedom and justice” which included the fact that Zimbabwe was a multiparty democracy then he would have never treated the opposition as the enemy.

 

The political confusion we are seeing in the War Vets is replicated in the rest of society, Police, Army, CIO, civil service and in the high echelons of power. We need to take time out and add flesh to the bear skeleton of the “founding values of freedom and justice”, define our national vision. We failed to come up with a common vision before independence; instead of defining a national vision during the “Pungwe!” (All-night rallies!), the time was wasted on empty rhetoric and meaningless slogans.

 

After 35 wasted years of grappling in the dark we need to implement all the democratic reforms agreed in the 2008 GPA as the starting off point in defining a common destiny!

Zanu PF and MDC in secret GNU Mark 2 talks - we would be foolish to trust this lot again!

There are rumours that Zanu PF and MDC have been holding secret meetings with the view of forming another GNU which will then be tasked to find a way out of the country’s worsening economic and political situation. The representatives of the parties have met in Accra, Ghana and will meet in Victoria Falls before the end of this month.

 

 

"If you love this country you would not write such stories. Some of us are working very hard to try and alleviate the people's suffering and we do not need the media to throw spanners in the works," responded an MDC national executive member when asked to comment on the story. 

 

 

This is a sick joke; because this is exactly what happened last time. In the last 2008 -2013 GNU it was Zimbabwe’s political leaders who negotiated a political way out of the political impasse in total secret and get presented the nation with the 2008 GPA as fiat accompli. Back then at least SADC was involved and the GPA had a raft of democratic reforms which, if implemented, would have dismantled the Zanu PF dictatorship and delivering the democratic system of government the nation has been dying for, literally!

 

 

As it happened, the GNU failed to implement even one of the GPA reforms, not one, and so Mugabe was able to rig the July 2013 elections with the greatest easy. Mugabe bribed Tsvangirai and his MDC friends to kick the reforms into the tall grass so that not even one reform was implemented. We are in this political and economic mess because those tasked to implement the reform in the last GNU let us down.

 

Now the same politicians who created the dictatorship, on the one hand, are teaming up with the same opposition politicians who sold-out during the last GNU to produce another GPA and then yet another GNU. Once again the negotiations are all being carried out in secret and the nation will be presented with a fait accompli GPA.

 

At least the 2008 GPA had SADC as the guarantor and, no doubt, it was SADC who pushed hard to have the raft of democratic reforms in the agreement. This time SADC is not involved and we know Tsvangirai has already been talking about some watered down versions of the original 2008 reforms we wanted implement.

 

 

The failure to allow free media coverage of the negotiations in 2008 meant the people did not have clue what the reforms were and hence the reason they failed to force the politicians to implement them.

 

 

Of course we all want to hear that our politicians are working hard on our behalf so why all the secrecy? There are two areas in which Zanu PF and the MDC opposition have cooperated fully. The first area being in getting salary, allowances or more perks for the politicians. The second area is in keeping the public in the dark of what the politicians were up to.

 

 

The MDC official is telling us the party is “working very hard to try and alleviate the people’s suffering”; if they had done a day’s work during the GNU then why did the fail to get even one reform implement.

 

 So as contrast to the 2008 GPA this 2015 GPA will have feeble reforms; to be implemented by the same incompetent and corrupt leaders; the public will be confine to their usual role of helpless bystanders and SADC will play no supervisory role. In short this 2015 GPA and the GNU to come from it will accomplish nothing of substance!

 

 

The people of Zimbabwe have been short changed and betrayed by Mugabe and Zanu PF for 35 years and sold-out by MDC during the GNU. If anyone is serious about democratic reforms in Zimbabwe then the first thing that must be implemented is media reforms so that the people are given a chance to at least follow the dialogue determining their future. We must stop treating them as they are idiots to be told after everything has already been decided; they have the right to be asked!

Zimbabwe is in the Dark Ages because the people, like shark on its back, are in tonic immobility!

Killer whales are known to kill the great white shark “without a fight” by turning the shark on its back. A shark on its back immediately goes to into a deep sleep never to wake up even as the killer whale feast on it!

 

Turn the shark on its back, this unnatural posture, is thought to alter the animal’s sensi-motor interchange with the environment, causing a ‘limp’ response. The animal displays relaxation in muscle tone and deep rhythmic respiration. Tonic immobility (TI) is an unlearned reflex, characterised by a state of immobility and torpor. This behaviour has been reported to occur in a variety of animals – including insects, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals and of course fish.

To look at what has happened in Zimbabwe these last 35 years one cannot help but wonder whether the whole nation is not suffering some form of TI that has rendered the nation as helpless as a shark on its back!

 

 

The last 35 years should have been Zimbabwe’s golden age of freedom and prosperity. After the ouster of the white racist regime of Ian Smith, all Zimbabweans should have enjoyed the freedom, human rights, justice, peace, etc. denied them by the whites to release the bottled up creative energy to thrive and blossom. Zimbabwe has the natural resource and potential to become the Switzerland of Africa. Sadly instead of turning right to realize its full potential the nation turned left!  

Soon after independence Mugabe and his Zanu PF thugs have systematically denied the people their freedoms, human rights and even the right to life to establish this de facto one man dictatorship. Mugabe has disregarded the nation’s multi-party democratic constitution and even Zanu PF’s own party rules to impose himself on the nation and party. We do not have a one-party state but rather one-man dictatorship. 

Over 30 000 innocent people have been murdered for selfish political gain with millions beaten, raped and/or harassed by this corrupt and tyrannical Mugabe regime.

 

On the economic front, the three and half decades of mismanagement and corruption have completely destroyed the nation economy. Today unemployment has soared to 90% plus, 16% or 2 million of our people live in abject poverty and millions have left the country to become economic and political refugees. Everything is in an advanced state or rot and decay, the country cannot provide even something as basic as clean running water in its big cities and towns.  

Yes of course Mugabe and his Zanu PF thugs are ruthless tyrants still there is no doubt that the nations has had many opportunities to end the dictatorship and end the political oppression and economic misrule.

 

The best chance the nation has had to end Mugabe’s dictatorship was by far during the GNU when all the nation had to do was implement the raft of democratic reforms already agreed in the 2008 GPA. Tsvangirai and his MDC friends, who were tasked to implement the reforms, sold-out and accepted Mugabe’s gravy train bribes in return for kicking the reforms into the tall grass. So after five years of the GNU not even one reform was implemented and Mugabe rigged the July 2013 elections with the greatest of easy.

 

The people of Zimbabwe failed to recognise the importance of the 2008 GPA reforms and so they did not force MDC to implement the reforms. The people were totally unaware of what the GPA was about because they were in some kind of tonic immobility state. Indeed many are still on their back like sharks, even with the benefit of hindsight of the rigged July 2013 elections, many Zimbabweans still do not have clue what happened during the GNU.

 

To make it easier for them to accept the rigged elections and lessen the guilty for their part in failing to get any reforms implemented the people of Zimbabwe have accepted the Mugabe won the July 2013 elections. They have rubbed off the stories of Zanu PF’s failure to release the voters roll, of party increasing the number of polling stations from 2 000 to 9 000 two days before voting, of bussed Zanu PF youths voting in one polling station to the next and all the other evidence of rigged elections. Forgetting all the unpleasant realities is a key aspect of TI.

 

Mugabe has always maintained an iron grip on the party Zanu PF by making sure it is his voice alone that was heard. In 2004 when Mnangagwa was poised to win the party members’ vote for the vacant position of VP; Mugabe unliterary and unconstitutionally changed the party’s constitution adding a clause demanding that one of the top four positions in the party was to be a woman. Party members were striped their vote and say in who was to be VP and they accepted this without a murmur!

 

Joice Mujuru was appointed VP in 2004 on the basis of Mugabe’s blatant Machiavellian machination denying everyone else a vote and granting himself a veto. 

 

In 2014 Zanu PF faced yet again another elective congress in which this time VP Joice Mujuru had amassed 8 out of 10 provinces to elect her VP in her own right. On face value, one would think Mugabe would be happy with this since the party’s members were endorsing Mugabe’s 2004 imposed VP candidate. But that is not what Mugabe is concerned about; what matters to him is that he alone should have the meaningful say in the party affairs including who held key party positions, to ensure the appointees are all beholden and accountable to him and no one else.

 

So to stop Zanu PF members having a meaningful vote in 2014, Mugabe accused Mai Mujuru of “factionalism”. Of course factionalism is a nonsensical charge because there is nothing wrong with a member canvasing the support of other members. Mnangagwa had done the same thing in 2004 when he has poised to win the vote and Mugabe never accused him of factionalism because he had hatched another plan on deny members a say.

 

There was nothing new in the factionalism charge, Mugabe had dealt with many other party members who dared challenge his authority by accusing them of being counter-revolutionaries even when it was him who was the one disregarding the law and violating the revolutionary values and common sense. Still nonsensical as the factionalism charges against Mai Mujuru were the party members still accepted them without a murmur; the members were already in trance, Mugabe had already flipped them on their backs like sharks.

 

The ease with which Mugabe has been able to induce tonic immobility in Zimbabweans at a national and party level again and again these last 35 years is worrying. In animals like sharks the animal displays relaxation in muscle tone and deep rhythmic respiration caused by the brain switching off. It is fair to say Zimbabweans have gone through the last 35 years with their brains switched off one has to worry whether many people with ever snap out of this trance vegetative state.

 

In the long run and 35 years constitute a long run; nations get the government they deserve. Zimbabweans deserve this corrupt and tyrannical Mugabe dictatorship and the equally corrupt and incompetent Tsvangirai MDC opposition. Instead of the nation responding to the threat posed by corrupt and tyrannical leaders by confronting them we have responded by flipping ourselves on to our backs to induce the TI so the corrupt and murderous tyrant was transformed into an infallible great national hero from whose tongue drip words of wisdom like honey!

 

Instead of the last 35 years being the golden age in Zimbabwe’s history Mugabe has turned the clock back into the Dark Age, with our cooperation or be it in torpor state. Unless we make a conscientious effort and resist the reflex response of flipping ourselves into mental stupor and deal with the country’s teething problem of bad governance we will never ever get out of this mess.

 

Even if Mugabe was to disappear off Zimbabwe’s political stage today, there will be a dozen other equally corrupt, incompetent and oppressive Zimbabweans who will only be too keen to exploit the people’s weaknesses of being naïve and gullible to impose themselves as the new Tsar of Zimbabwe!

Research body say Mujuru has "clout" to defeat Mugabe but that is plan B!

“A regional research unit, NKC African Economics, has described that Joice Mujuru as "Zimbabwe's realistic hope of salvation", saying the veteran politician had more political clout than current opposition party leaders,” reported the Zimbabwe Independent.

NKC’s report is titled “Mujuru Has Sights On Power, Not Alliances With Those Who Threw It Away”

 

NKC is spot on two points: Mujuru and People First (PF) are the only one with a realistic chance of defeating Mugabe and his Zanu PF if, and it is a big IF, elections are held in the present political atmosphere with no democratic reforms implemented. PF’s political “clout” comes from the fact as ex-Zanu PF members themselves. Although they do not the sophistication of rigging the elections they, nonetheless, they will know enough it make it very difficult for Mugabe to rig and have a clean sweep as in the past.

Didymus Mutasa has already started giving details of how Finance Minister Patrick Chinamasa bussed in voters in the 2013 election. In the next elections Mutasa will have a lot more at stake and the last thing Zanu PF want is a nationwide election scandal!

Second, yes Tsvangirai et al had the chance to win power but throw that away by failing to implement the democratic reforms throughout the five GNU years. Tendai Biti, Tsvangirai’s right-hand man throughout the GNU had since admitted that failing to implement the reforms was an act “collective idiocy” by the MDC leaders. MDC has lost a lot of political credibility especially with SADC leaders and the international community.

Some of the MDC supporters have kept faith with the party but that is only because they have never understood what the reforms were about and the political consequences of failing to implement them have never sunk in. However as more and more Zimbabweans have understood what happened, they have walked away from Tsvangirai and the other MDC factions. It is hard to gauge MDC’s support now but there is no doubt MDC has been haemorrhaging supporters.

Since the rigged July 2013 elections MDC has lost more and more supporters as the party blundered from pillar to post. In June 2105, for example, Tsvangirai recalled MPs from the breakaway MDC faction only to gift the seats to Zanu PF.

So, naturally Mujuru, has not been under any pressure to form a coalition with Tsvangirai et al given MDC has lost political credibility and is losing supporters with each political blunder.

The mistake the NKC researchers have make however is to assume that the only thing Zimbabweans want out of the political situation is to remove Mugabe and his Zanu PF friend out of office. Yes we want to see the back of Mugabe and his thugs but not only to have the regime replaced by an equally corrupt, incompetent and oppressive one in the name of PF led by Mujuru. We want the dictator removed but also the whole autocratic system of government dismantled and replaced with a healthy and functional democratic system of government.

We KNOW to dismantle the dictatorship we need to implement ALL the democratic reforms agreed in the 2008 GPA. Just because Tsvangirai and his MDC friends did not know and appreciate the critical importance of reforms NKC researchers must not assume everyone else in Zimbabwe does not know.

 

Zanu PF is under great economic pressure from the economic meltdown on the one side and political pressure from the dog-eat-dog fighting tearing the party apart on the other. The pincer action is going to force the regime to accept political reform and we will push for the implementation of ALL the reforms then.

 

Our plan A is to get all the democratic reforms implemented and the new democratic political dispensation will allow quality leaders to emerge and the corrupt and incompetent ones will fall by the wayside.

 

If we fail to get any reforms implemented then elections will be held in the present atmosphere where Zanu PF will try to rig the elections once again. We will then deplore our plan B – Mujuru and her PF clout!  

UK doctor had good intentions with skills support but then the road to hell is paved with good intention.

Some people have come out in support of the Nottingham based Dr Sylvester Nyatsuro’s proposed Zimbabwe Diaspora Skills Network (ZDSN). Whist all of them agree that the network alone will not stop the country’s health service from collapse much less turn it into the modern service it should be; still they applaud the Dr for his good intentions!

 

It must be stated here and now that Dr Nyatsuro is NOT some throw back of Nadile Homominid (the human like creature whose remains were discovered in South Africa a few weeks ago) with the brain the size of an orange and therefore unable to judge right from wrong. Dr Nyatsuro’s photograph showed that he has all the outside appearances of a modern man complete with homo sapiens size head and, presumably, housing a normal homo sapiens size brain. Unless someone can prove that our Dr Nyatsuro has nonetheless a brain no bigger than an orange with the rest of the brain cavity filled with blabber and is therefore incapable of discerning right from wrong.

 

If Dr Nyatsuro is not some throwback Nadile Homominid then he must know that the road to hell is paved with good intentions! It is no exaggeration to say in the last 35 years Mugabe has turned Zimbabwe into some hell-on-earth and naïve and gullible Zimbabweans like Dr Nyatsuro with all their misplace good intentions have paved the tyrant’s way.

 

Mugabe would have never lasted all those year much less thoroughly destroy the nation without the help of the millions of ordinary Zimbabweans.

 

Any modern human, Homo sapiens, with a fully functional brain – not one choked with blabber – would have understood that the nation’s greatest challenge from 18 April 1980, the day Zimbabwe attained her independence, going forward was to ensure ALL Zimbabweans enjoyed the pre-independence promises and aspiration of freedom, justice, liberty, peace and economic prosperity. We dosed off from the word go!

 

It did not take long to see that Mugabe and his Zanu PF thugs had no intention of honouring the freedoms and human rights of the ordinary people as the regime set off at a tangent to establish its de facto one-party dictatorship to secure absolute political power and the unfettered access to the nation’s wealth and riches. For 35 years the nation has failed to confront Mugabe and tell him in no uncertain terms that his corrupt, incompetent and oppressive regime was the opposite of what the nation had fought for and dreamt of before independence. And that his autocratic system of government was the root cause of all the nation’s economic and political problems.

 

Instead of confronting Mugabe the nation has spent the last 35 years like some lost tribe of Nadile Homominids, who can see that something is not right but whose brain capacity was too shallow to comprehend the root cause and so has settled to addressing the peripheral issues instead.

 

Tsvangirai and his MDC friends were tasked to implement the democratic reforms designed to dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship. They were given 18 months to do this and they stretched it to 60 months and, surprise, surprise they still failed to get even one single reform implemented. It was SADC Heads who complained that MDC leaders “were busy enjoying themselves and forgot why they were in government”, in sheer frustration.

 

 

Zimbabwe’s lost tribe of Nadile Homominids failed to realize the importance of 2008 GPA reforms in ending the Zanu PF dictatorship and so they did not appreciate the seriousness of MDC’s failure to implement the reforms. Even today with the benefit of two years hindsight since the rigged July 2013 elections many Zimbabweans have still failed to understand the critical importance of implementing the democratic reforms as the only way the nation will ever get out of this hell-on-earth Mugabe and Zanu PF landed us in.

 

Instead of focusing on implementing the reforms former MDC Deputy Prime Minister, Arthur Mutambara, himself a former Robotics Professor, was calling on Zimbabweans to form Former Pupils Clubs, for example, to raise funds to assist their former schools in buying books. Zimbabwe’s economic decline had been relentless and the economic hardships were felt by all across the board. I totally subscribe to the notion that every little helps still not when the little is a shovel of dirty to dam the mighty Zambezi River! 

 

Arthur Mutambara’s Former Pupils Clubs was not going to save Zimbabwe’s collapsing education system no more than Dr Nyatsuro and his Zimbabwe Diaspora Skills Network’s donation of bandages past their use-by date to some rural clinic drag that clinic out of the dark ages into the 21 st century. All those in the Former Pupil Clubs would have done better reminding the pompous Robotics Professor to implement the reforms just as our Dr Nyatsuro will do better demand the implementation of the same 2008 GPA reforms today. 

 

People like Dr Nyatsuro with their offer of a box of bandages must publicly acknowledge that they are offering a painkiller at best and not a cure and that they will only reach an insignificant number of people. It is totally irresponsible that for people like Dr Nyatsuro should announce their ZDSN from the rooftop giving the nation the impression he is offering them a cure because like it or not they are, tacitly at least, endorsing Mugabe’s no regime change agenda!

 

The corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship is the disease that is killing Zimbabwe and free, fair and credible elections is the cure! The last thing we want is some Nadile Homominids like Dr Nyatsuro confusing the nation with their shovel of dirty to dam the mighty Zambezi River solutions!

 

Zimbabwe is in serious political and economic trouble and it will take some hard-nosed homo sapiens thinking to confront the tyrannical regime head-on and none of Dr Nyatsuro’s Nadile homominids good intentions to get us out of this hell!
