Chombo says he got all his loot from being "a successful farmer" - will he prove it after regime change!

Minister Chombo says those accusing him of being corrupt should prove it. “I am a successful commercial farmer thanks to the land reform programme and I survive on the sales I do on the farm,” Chombo said

Mr Chombo you can say what you like but no one out there in their right mind believes you. You and your fellow Zanu PF fat cats have prospered whilst the rest of the national economy went into total melt-down. It is either you are very shrewd businessmen, farmers, etc. who make the likes of Bill Gates look like amateurs fresh out of high school. Or you are some of the most corrupt vultures who had no qualms about destroying the national economy into chaos and millions into abject poverty for selfish gain.

But not to worry you will have your say in a court of law once we have regime change and restored the rule of law. You will produce the evidence to prove what a successful farmer you really are. You will explain how much you creamed off in the farming subsidies, how many urban stands you bought for peanuts and sold at a fat profit over the years, etc.

Yes sir you have some serious explaining to do. All we have to do is produce an full inventory of all your farms, houses, business, etc., etc. then you have to explain who you managed to accumulate all this loot!

@ James Bond

You have the wrong end of the stick, you idiot. We have the list of his looted wealth; Chombo can deny that it is not his or explain how he came to own all that loot at a time when the Zimbabwe economy shrunk by a world record 84% in six years 2002 to 2008, for example.

Chombo says he is a successful commercial farmer, he only has to say how many tonnes of maize or tobacco he produced and where he sold it!

Zimbabwe's agricultural production dropped like a stone ever since Mugabe instituted the land seizures. A country that had been the bread basket of the region could no longer feed it own people. Chombo is telling us a totally different story, of a successful farmer, and that is where he made his fortune.

If Chombo is a successful farmer as he claims then he will only be to happy to boast millions of tonnes he harvested and the thousands of cattle he sent to Cold Storage Commission for slaughter every week. No doubt the slaughter house will confirm the weekly cattle deliver from our successful farmer Chombo!

@ Don

Coming from Nigeria, I would bet you would indeed "know what rigging means". I am not convinced you are as smart as you say you are.

"In my country we would have rallied or found a way for such leader to be out," you say. And yet by your own admission vote rigging and corruption are still widespread in Nigeria.

Earlier on you were defending Africa's terrible human rights record and claiming the West has a worse record and I should "dig deep into your books before you come talking about worst human record"! This is not a beauty contest with idiots like you encouraging tyrants like Mugabe to kill some more so Africa can have the worst record in history.

Nigeria has had its independence for donkeys years now, has vast oil wealth and yet millions are still living in abject poverty because corruption is rampant. Instead of address this serious problem you are still wittering about "white colonial masters". It is idiots like you who had holding Africa down not the whites!

@ Chimbwido

The Hague do not even bother getting small fry like you Chimbwido. You will have you day in a Zimbabwe court, a few months in Chikurumbi Prison (you will be given decent food and not the s***t prisoners are being fed at present) and then you will be hanged.

It really does not matter whether Africa pulls out of the ICC or not you will face justice. I promised you that and I intent to keep my promise, particularly this promise!

@ Don

I am pleased to hear that Nigeria has the fastest growing economy - and about time too after all the decades of corruption and waste. It would not be idiots like you who have got Nigeria moving again, you still fighting the imaginary British colonialists. It is the more visionary Nigerians who have decided to ignore idiots like you and concentrate on the real issues affecting the country.

It is Mugabe and his thugs who have dragged Zimbabwe into the hell-hole, not the West, and Zimbabweans are facing up to that reality. The last thing we want is morons like you poking your big nose in our affairs.
