So Mathuthu, you think you can work for unscrupulous moral degenerates and ruthless murderers like Jonathan Moyo and Robert Mugabe and still maintain your high "professional" standard! How naïve!
Mr new Editor of the Bulawayo Chronicle, if some one walking into your office with a dossier of how Mugabe rigged the 31st July 2013 elections; will you print that story in the Chronicle?
It would be the biggest scoop of your career comparable to the Washington Post's Watergate! For Zimbabwe, it would be the smoking gun, to prove beyond doubt to even the most naïve Mugabe loyalists that Mugabe rigged the elections, he is illegitimate and therefore is not fit to in State House as the nation's president. He should instead be in prison and tried on high treason - corrupting the country's democratic institution and perverting the democratic will of the people for selfish political gain and thus threatening the stability of the nation and the very lives of millions of Zimbabweans!
This is not such a hypothetical question; we all know Mugabe rigged the elections as he has done so many, many times in the past. Of all the people, journalists and Editors know it but none have dared write about it.
So I ask you again, Mr Mathuthu; will you publish a story of how Mugabe rigged the elections or is all this talk of being professional empty pep talk!?

Mugabe rigged the elections and 1200 Zimbabweans are leaving the country everyday in despair. This matter is not going away, mark my word. Mugabe did not get the mandate from the people of Zimbabwe, he must go. And go he will!
@ Rocky
Good point! Biti said Mudede had four different copies of voters roll a week before the elections and for the last two month the regime cannot make its own mind which version to realise as the official one because they know it would be the smoking gun to prove the rigging.
Even those naïve African leaders who had wanted so much to give Mugabe the benefit of the doubt are increasing looking foolish with each passing day and the regime failing to produce something as simple as a voters roll!
@ Dombodema
Komichi took his story to ZEC and the Police and where is he now! Those same Judges are doing their bit to ensure he stays in jail for a very long time. Thanks for the advise but no thank you!
I thought you have confidence in Mathuthu publishing any such story about how Mugabe rigged the elections because you had faith in his claim to be professional. I can see you too think it was all pep talk!
@ Grand Ayatollah
A July 2013 National Social Security Authority (Nssa) Harare Regional Employer Closures and Registrations Report for the period July 2011 to July 2013 shows 711 companies in Harare closed down, rendering 8 336 individuals jobless.
Mugabe's arrogance has shown that Zimbabwe is a lawless country; it is impossible to do business in such a country. Unless your line of business is itself unlawful which is why corruption and loot and vote rigging - Nikuv has just made a cool $10 million for a few hundred man/hours worth of work - in the only booming "business" in Zimbabwe!
Mugabe has been boasting that if anyone can find a penny of the fortune many believe he has in hidden in the Far East, they can donate it to charity.
The real challenge is getting Mugabe out of State House after this Tsvangirai and MDC debacle; it a very difficult but not impossible task. By rigging the elections so blatantly Mugabe shot himself in the leg - he has repeatedly denying rigging the elections and has spent the last three months hiding the voters roll and other evidence which is tantamount to hiding is self- inflicted gun-shot wound and so soon gangrene will set in.
Once there is regime change finding where Mugabe and all his cronies have been ferreting their ill-got fortunes will be a walk in the park! Yes, that will be child's play; all I will want is a one hour chat with Mugabe's chief banker, Gideon Gono. One hour, that is all I ask
@ Sound
New Zimbabwe has allowed free debate and free flow of ideas better than some of the independent site who pro-MDC position was such that they cheered and applauded everything Tsvangirai said and did. We all know Tsvangirai is a blundering idiot and it was sickening that the idiot was committing one blunder after another; it was unbearable that anyone should even think that was genius!
Mathuthu may be all that you say of him but it must be said that whilst he remained at new Zimbabwe, he did not show any of those bad things. Now he is going to work for Chronicle; we will have to wait and see!
@ Guest
Tsvangirai is one of the most incompetent political leaders of our time. I am disappointed that you should consider him a yard stick to measure what anyone can and can not do.
The are many Shonas who have condemned Gukurahundi and many other things Mugabe has done; you and a few others have chosen to ignore this for the sake of pushing your own tribal agenda. This is a distraction Zimbabweans can not afford and therefore many have rightly ignored!
@ kwv
Mugabe, Moyo and most of those in Zanu PF with a bit of grey stuff between their ears know that the status quo is simply unsustainable and have been forced to accept change. Well new Zimbabwe is one example; there has been nothing in its content to suggest it belongs to the same stable as the Herald. People like you have called Zanu PF thugs - well, Zanu PF thugs. Try getting such a comment on the Herald; it will deleted before you have finished typing it on your laptop!
The need to appoint more open minded people may be behind this appointment and thus in turn Mdudu may surprise Moyo, Mugabe and us all by maintaining high professional standards at the Chronicle!
