No one of any substance (there is a whole army of CIO agents,
the modern day Dzakutsaku on Smith day, a curse to this nation as their
forerunners were in their time) who can ever dispute the fact that all those
being purged from Zanu PF are being punished for daring to exercise their basic
right to choose who the two Vice Presidents of Zanu PF were going to be. A
right Mugabe has since surreptitiously since taken away to add to his already
excessive powers to hire and fire all the members of the party’s politburo –
the supreme decision making body of the party.
All the other charges being labelled against the purged
members like corruption, chilazing, etc.;
although many are true, they are however all spurious in that they are
historic and they target only those who had supported Mai Mujuru when these
problems are common to all party members.
It is the reaction of
those fired Zanu PF officials that has both surprised and disappointed most men
and women of substance; they all turned the other cheek.
After months of being
harangued and having her name blackened by none other than Grace Mugabe herself
and denied the opportunity to defend her honour and then summarily elbowed out
of the way in the party and sacked from government Mai Mujuru took it all on
the chin. She said she would not contest anything but instead thank Mugabe for
having appointed her to serve in government. All her supporters who were purged
with her followed her lead.
“The firing was
perfectly legal,” said former deputy minister of Justice Legal and parliamentary
Affairs, Fortune Chasi.
“The chief executive
officer of the country is entitled to change his team from time to time on the
basis of non-performance or he could simply want to refocus his team and I have
got no hard feelings whatsoever.”
But that is just it; the
purge had nothing to do performance, etc. but everything to do with a tyrant
usurping the party members’ rights to a meaningful say in who leads the party
just as he had usurped the ordinary Zimbabweans rights to a meaning say in who
rules the country a year ago. What is surprising and disappointing is that none
of these leaders had the guts to stand up and stop this relentless erosion of
the individual freedoms and human rights and dignity by a tyrant whose greed
and lust for absolute power in insatiable.
On second thoughts; no
one of any substance should be really surprised that none of these Zanu PF
leaders dared to challenge Mugabe. They have all these years ridden roughshod
over the people’s hopes and dreams with the same cold-hearted indifference as
Mugabe himself; they are all tyrants just like him in their own way. For them
to accuse him of being a tyrant would have been the hypocrisy of a hyena
denouncing another hyena for eating meat as if he was a vegetarian.
So in a way it is good
that Mai Mujuru, Chasi and all the other Zanu PF leaders purged from the party
have spared us the virtuous pontificating and platitudes. Sadly there was no
such lucky from Harvest House; MDC-T spokesman, Obert Gutu, is one not to miss
the opportunity preach a sermon.
“All tyrants crave to be
hero-worshipped and eulogised; in ZANU PF merit counts for nothing. If you want
to remain on the feeding table, you have to continue lavishing praise on the
supreme leader in a cult kind of fashion,” he said.
All the MDC leaders
should know only too well about hero-worshipping and eulogising the tyrant; it
was all they ever did throughout the five years of the GNU!
There is no one of
substance in Harvest House because nothing of substance ever comes out of there
and just to prove the point Mr Gutu is wittering about “lavishing praise” on
the tyrant to keep one’s place at the table. He is talking about men and women
who have done all that and more all their lives but are now being booted off
the table.
MDC wasted five years
lavishing praise on Mugabe and did absolutely nothing regarding implementing
the democratic reforms just to appease the tyrant. And yet come the elections
the tyrant kicked them all in the teeth and threw them off the gravy train. Of
all people Obert Gutu should now know appeasing a tyrant is a waste of
time!
There is nothing in this world more annoying than being in trouble and a
presumptuous an idiot offering you stupid advice! “If you want to remain on the
feeding table, you have to continue lavishing praise on the supreme leader!”

RECENTLY installed vice president Emmerson Mnangagwa has reportedly embarked on a charm offensive to present the other side of a man widely viewed as a sneaky hardliner.
Mnangagwa masterminded the vote rigging of ZAnu PF's own elections and before that the national elec-tions; this is treason by any standard. Only someone with no respect for freedom, justice and the dignity of man would do something like this.
Mnangagwa is a ruthless tyrant through and through. If he thinks he can change who he is as if it is a coat he can wear a black one today and a white one tomorrow; he has something else coming.
The people of Zimbabwe are desperate to see an end to this corrupt and oppressive regime and no amount of sugar coating can ever make the poison of this regime acceptable. The regime must go and go now. We want our freedom, human rights and human dignity and our country back; that is not negotiable.
@ Mugabe Go
A crocodile will always be a crocodile! If Mnangagwa is serious about being accepted by the people then he must put the on-going oppression and suffering to an end by holding free, fair and credible elections now! He rigged last year's elections, put that right!
“Unbridled ambition is dangerous.” You have put your finger on it!
But what people must understand is that Grace Mugabe is not even the ears of the hippopota-mus but a tuft of hair growing upon them. The hippo will still be a hippo without or without the tuft of hair in its ears. Zanu PF has been a corrupt and murderous tyrannical regime for decades, long before Grace made her colourful and dramatic entry a few months ago and will continue its tyrannical ways even if Grace was to disappear right now and never to show her face ever again.
The Joint Operations Command, JOC, the Junta composed of the country’s security chiefs, a few select Zanu PF leaders like Mnangagwa and Jonathan Moyo headed by Robert Mugabe himself, are the ones who have masterminded all the mischief, misrule and murders that have befallen this nation for the last twenty years or so. If we are serious about ending this Zanu PF dictatorship once and once for all then it is the Junta JOC that we must get rid of.
Mugabe and Mnangagwa have been careful to keep JOC well hidden only to allow one or two individuals to make a public appearance to implement its dirty schemes. It is not Grace’s scalp we want but that of the JOC members; she is nothing without the Junta but the Junta will remain dangerous with or without her.
@ Moses Shoko
I do not know anything about Grace of anyone in Zanu PF being “God’s chosen one”! But I do know that Mugabe and Mnangagwa rigged last year’s national elections and this year they rigged the party’s own election process. It would be fair to say God has cursed this tyrannical Zanu PF regime because the God I have known about all my life is a God of justice and He was always sided with the oppressed and downtrodden and never with the tyrants and murderers!

Any use of violence will give the regime the excuse to is fishing for to shed innocent blood in its desperate effort to hold on to power. We must not give them any such excuse.
"We are taking stock of the indigenisation policy as we seek to ensure that it can positively im-pact on the socio-economic aspects of the nation. We shall do our best on that initiative," said Youth and Indigenisation Minister, Chris Mushohwe.
Zanu PF has been talking about reviewing the indigenisation laws for the last two years; the truth is there is very little the regime can do now. It was out of political expedience that the party passed the law demanding that would be foreign investors must cede 51% of their investment to local partners; the regime is not stuck with this policy. Even if the regime was to swallow its pride, admit the law was ill conceived (which it is) and scrap it; no one will trust the regime to honour the scrapping when push comes to shove because the regime has gone back on its word many times before.
The only way Zimbabwe is ever going to attract the now desperately needed foreign investors is for the country to have a new democratically elected government everyone can trust to up hold the rule of law! Everything else Zanu PF does is a waste of time – something this nation is fast running out of!
The people of Zimbabwe have suffered the ill effects of having a corrupt and tyrannical government they were powerless to remove and having foreigners plunder the nation’s wealth whilst they languish in poverty and despair. Enough is enough!
Mugabe and Mnangagwa rigged last year’s national elections and it is continued imposition of this illegitimate regime that is holding the nation’s economic recovery. We demand an end to this Zanu PF dictatorship and view China’s continued attempts to prop it up with increasing impatience and hostility.
@ Zombo
One hopes that the Chinese are not stupid not to realise that this regime is doomed. We have the right to determine what kind of Zimbabwe we want and the Chinese's attempts to deny us that right by propping up Mnangagwa is totally unacceptable and will never work. China must be told and in no uncertain terms that Zimbabwe is not Hong Kong and we are not going to accept a Chinese imposition as did Hong Kong!
ZNLWVA chairman Christopher Mutsvangwa said 2015 is set to be an exciting year as the implemen-tation of the economic blue-print will intensify.
ZimAsset has not worked in any way, at least it has not created any new jobs since there have been net job loses so far, so it is nonsense to talk of intensifying the plan when it has not taken off the ground yet.
So far Minister Chris Mutsvangwa has shown to be one ruled by passion than by reason given to exagger-ating his own power and influence because of his ego that knows no bounce. There is no cash to get ZimAsset off the ground, Mugabe has got the $ 7 billion out of the $27 billion required and that is all the tyrant will ever get, Mutsvangwa is wittering about intensifying the plan because he said so.
@ Zombo
This Zanu PF dictatorship is doomed and the $1b will not save is from the economic meltdown gripping the nation. It will buy the regime a few months at most. We must never forget what the Chinese are doing and have done in the last 34 years and must make sure the whole world knows too.
The Chinese are lending the Russians $24 billion to help bolster the tittering Russian economy in the face of West imposed sanctions.
Zimbabwe may be a very tiny country but when it comes to spending she sure punches way above its weight. China has already given Zimbabwe $4 billion with a further $1 billion as soon as Mnangagwa becomes president; that is more that 20% what Russia is getting. If Mugabe had his way, he wanted $27 billion from the Chinese.
Indeed Zanu PF is still desperate for more money; when it comes to spending this Zanu PF regime is a black-hole in every sense of the word because whatever is thrown into nothing ever comes out. The Chi-nese have hope of getting some of their money back from the Russians and all the other nations but will get nothing from the Zanu PF government. At least not in the normal way; all Chinese deals with Mugabe are top secret because Mugabe has been selling the nation's jewels and future for a song for ready money now!
@ Gogo
The economic meltdown gripping Zimbabwe is so serious that whatever the Chinese throw at it will be like a mouse to a hungry lion! By the way whatever the Chinese have thrown into the ZimAsset begging bowl they are not coming back with more and everyone else has already made it abundantly clear they have better use of their money than throw it in a black-hole. Whether Mugabe likely it or not the days of reckless spending are over and regime change is as certain as a ripe mango dropping!
