Chinyande there is no "new era of democracy" - not when ED is rigging election

Anyone who thanks President Mnangagwa and his November coup posse for deposing the dictator Mugabe only do so out of short sightedness, foolishness or both! It is the Joint Operation Command (JOC) – a junta comprising the top brass in the Army, Police, CIO, Prison Service and a select few in the Zanu PF headed by Robert Mugabe and his deputy Emmerson Mnangagwa -  that masterminded and executed all the looting, vote rigging and political violence including the mass murders that kept Robert Mugabe and the Zanu PF dictatorship in power all these last 38 years.

Indeed, it is a historic fact that Mugabe was ready to concede defeat following the March 2008 vote in which Tsvangirai had a convincing 73% victory; it was none other than Mnangagwa and his fellow JOC thugs who told Mugabe to stay up. They then ordered ZEC to cook up the election result to reduce the 73% to 47% to justify the run-off. It was the junta that then deployed the Army, Police and CIO to work with the rogue war veterans to punish the electorate for having rejected Mugabe and Zanu PF in the March vote.

“Zanu PF has declared war on the defenceless civilians,” complained Tsvangirai when he announced his withdrawal from the presidential run-off.

ED and his junta cabal had just staged the country’s first coup to stop a dually elected Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC party from taking over power. The thugs were to stage yet another coup in November 2017, this time to remove Robert Mugabe from office, the dictator they had rigged elections and even stage a coup to impose!

“When then Major General Sibusiso Moyo declared that “our country has moved to another level” definitely he was not lying at all. Zimbabweans spent close to 2 decades fighting a blood sucking failed senile dictator Mr ROBERT MUGABE and prayed non-stop to God to offer His hand to dispose him. No one ever since creation knew or knows in what form, type and shape and hour God’s response comes,” wrote George Chinyande in Zimeye.

“For Zimbabwe it came through operation restore legacy which no single prophet of the several thousands claiming to be in Zimbabwe today prophesied its coming and the former cruel and failed senile dictator Mr ROBERT MUGABE was vanquished for good. Today fair-minded Zimbabweans talk of a new era of democracy, human rights and freedoms. A recent independent media report revealed how for example some Mbare residents most of whom support Chinja are overjoyed with the new dispensation of unfolding democracy.”

This is just nonsense for two reasons:

1)   It is blasphemy to evoke the name of God in the demise of Mugabe not so much in the fall of the dictator but in implying the Lord employed the ED and the Junta. Mugabe was as much the junta’s dictator as much as the junta itself was Mugabe’s thugs. Both the dictator and the junta constitute the corrupt, vote rigging and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship, the enemy of the people. The events of 15 November 2017 were a culmination of a dog-eat-dog factional war within the Zanu PF dictatorship. It is nonsensical to suggest God supported one faction of thugs over the other as if He has ever approved the regime’s decades of corrupt and murderous reign of terror!

It is not surprising that Lacoste supporters are claiming that God is on their side just as, until the coup, Grace Mugabe and other G40 faction members claimed God appointed Mugabe to rule Zimbabwe.

2)   What “new era of democracy, human rights and freedoms” are you wittering about? President Mnangagwa has pointedly refused to implement even one democratic reforms without which it is impossible to hold free, fair and credible elections. Indeed, the junta has already deployed ex-service personal from the security sector and the rogues war veterans to campaign for Zanu PF in a re-enactment of the 2008 barbarism.

Ever since last November’s military coup President Mnangagwa and his coup junta have tried, desperately, to convinced everyone that Zimbabwe was transformed by the coup. The lawless and pariah state of Mugabe days is gone. The Emmerson Mnangagwa Zimbabwe is God fearing and respect the rule of law. The mistake the junta has made is to assume the whole world will believe every word the regime said.

Whilst the naïve and gullible people like George, here, and the thousands who marched in support of the coup on 18 November 2017 believed the coup transformed Zimbabwe. Many, especial the foreign investors did not. They are smart enough to remember the junta was part and parcel of the Zanu PF dictatorship and the removal of the dictator does not necessarily mean the death of the dictatorship. They needed more convincing that the dictatorship is dead.

By refusing to implement the democratic reforms design to end the dictatorial powers President Mnangagwa and the junta had proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the Zanu PF dictatorship is alive and well. His “Zimbabwe is open for business!” call was premature in that Zimbabwe is still a pariah state ruled by vote rigging thugs. Investors do not do business in countries in which the next regime change can only be another coup or mass street protests!

“Only an idiot who hasn’t moved to another level when Zimbabwe has moved to another level. .... Good shall always be good. Let’s move away from evil politics fellow countrymen and women. It does not help. Hati fambei nenguva,” concluded Chinyande.

The real idiot is one who pretends last November’s coup killed off the corrupt, vote rigging and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship when we can all see that is a lie! The real challenge for us now is to make sure these flawed elections are declared null and void. The November coup killed the G40 faction of the Zanu PF dictatorship leaving the Lacoste faction, the only way we can kill this off is by implementing the democratic reforms!

As long as the President Mnangagwa and his junta regime continue to enjoy the carte blanche dictatorial powers to rig elections there will be no meaningful economic recovery because investors hate dictatorships and lawless thugs, especially overdressed thugs masquerading as democrats!

Zanu PF whittled done Tsvangirai's 73% to 47% to force a run-off and then overhauled the 27% to make it 84% in 2008! Zanu PF is rigging these elections and we need people to deal with that reality and stop burying their heads in the sand!

Morgan Tsvangirai was naive to call people from demanding hand over of power. Notably people like Archbishop Desmond Tutu were calling for international pressure to force Mugabe to hand over power and it was Tsvangirai who said that was not necessary.

It was then US Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Chris Dell, who said in 2007 that Tsvangirai was "a flawed and indecisive character" history has proven the Ambassador right again and again. MDC went on to betray the nation by failing to get even one reform implemented during the GNU. Mugabe bribed Tsvangirai and his MDC friends and the kicked reforms out of the window!

Right now these elections should not be going ahead without the reforms but you wasting your time telling that to MDC leaders like Chamisa, Biti, etc.

The international community including SADC must declare the election null and void and stop punishing the whole nation because MDC leaders are corrupt and incompetent!

The indigenisation law was just one aspect why investors had shied away from Zimbabwe. The other aspect was Zimbabwe was seen as a pariah state ruled by lawless thugs President Mnangagwa and his coup junta had the golden opportunity to prove Zimbabwe had indeed changed by implementing the democratic reforms and ensuring the elections are free and fair. He has done no such thing.

Investors are staying away from Zimbabwe because they do not do business with thugs!

The international community turned a blind eye on this Zanu PF regime's coup last year they must not left the regime off the hook for rigging the elections. Elections observers must rule the elections null and void because it is impossible to have free and fair elections with no free media, no verified voters' roll, no independent Police to stop intimidation, etc., etc.

SADC leaders wanted the 2013 elections postponed until reforms are implemented it was only because the opposition is incompetent and corrupt that the elections went ahead. The opposition has no excuse for repeating the same foolish mistake and yet they are doing so. SADC must rule the election null and void and stop punishing the whole nation just because the opposition are sell-outs!

Zimbabwe's armed forces have been accused of orchestrating the violent intimidation of Mr Mugabe's opponents in past elections but Mr Moyo has repeatedly pledged that this year's polls would be free and fair. Mr Johnson will seek to underline the need for independent observers.
"July's election will be a bellwether for the direction of a new Zimbabwe," he said. "The Zimbabwe government must deliver the free and fair elections the people of Zimbabwe deserve and which it has promised. The UK stands ready in friendship to support a Zimbabwe that fully embraces the rule of law, human rights and economic reform."

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson must be aware that the Zimbabwe government has not implemented even one of the democratic reforms Zanu PF agreed were necessary for free and fair elections and signed on to with SADC at the formation of the 2008 to 2013 GNU. It is impossible to have free and fair elections without a free media, no verified voters' roll, skewed finances giving one side $4 billion and the opposition $2 million, etc.

Zanu PF has bribed the Chiefs, deployed Zanu PF Political Commissar Engelbert Rugeje, war veterans and ex and serving security personal to intimidate rural voter and frog march them to vote for the party. These "elections are done", as SADC leaders said of the 2013 elections.

It is therefore worrying that the British keep talking of "Zimbabwe government must deliver the free and fair elections," as if there is any hope of the regime doing so now!

What the people of Zimbabwe are demanding is that these flawed elections must be dismissed as null and void and the junta must be left in no uncertain terms that it is not going to be allowed to get away with yet another rigged election!

@ gonye
Zanu PF leaders are drinking a toast to Nelson Chamisa just as they did to Morgan Tsvangirai during the GNU. Chamisa is not threatening Zanu PF's hold on power by demanding the implementation of the reforms and by ploughing on heedless of the reality of Zanu PF rigging the elections he is giving the process the much needed credibility!

I would not be surprised to hear that there has been a mystrious donor bankrolling MDC Alliance's elections campaign. Instead of the $2 million spending money, the Alliance will have double or triple that now! Having MDC as the opposition is the best thing that has ever happened to Zanu PF in the last 20 years and Zanu PF will do everything in its power to make sure Chamisa and his incompetent and corrpt MDC friends retain their coveted position as the country's main opposition leaders!

The ordinary Zimbabweans has gained nothing from these rigged elections but not so with the few opposition politicians who have won the few gravy train seats given away as bait. There are over 100 political parties fighting for these few seats; Chamisa has some serious competition and he knows ED will give him a helping hand if he played his cards right - as MDC did during the GNU. And so far Chamisa has not put one foot wrong, his Zanu PF handlers are in for a promotion in their own right!
