@ Wellington Musengeza
“Zimbabwe’s opposition democratic struggle today is defined less by institutions than by the illusion of opposition, a spectacle choreographed around the charisma of Nelson Chamisa.
In him, the continent's recurring tragedy of personality-driven politics finds its latest expression: a leader who mistakes aura for architecture, disciples for citizens, and spectacle for substance. Chamisa, it seems, inherited the mantle of the late former Movement for Democratic Change leader Morgan Tsvangirai, but not his conviction, organisational discipline, or institutional vision.
Instead, he has cultivated a fragile brotherhood, an informal circle bound by loyalty rather than constitutions, internal elections, or durable structures.
This hollow theatre has left Zimbabwe's opposition incapable of confronting Zanu-PF, a liberation movement that has entrenched itself as a formidable institution, thriving on patronage, constitutional manipulation, and the full arsenal of state resources. Chamisa's refusal to build resilient structures has not weakened the ruling party; it has emboldened it. Zanu-PF now openly tests constitutional overreach with impunity, confident that the opposition's theatrics pose no real threat.
The illusion is stark: while Chamisa parades charisma as a strategy, Zanu-PF consolidates power as machinery. The result is a democratic deadlock where opposition collapses under the weight of its own personality cult, gifting authoritarianism the confidence to stretch repression beyond precedent. Zimbabwe's tragedy is not simply the dominance of Zanu-PF, but the abdication of institutional leadership by those who claim to oppose it.”
To keep on blaming Nelson Chamisa fr the nation’s worsening economic meltdown and political paralysis is to miss the point. Chamisa & co. have failed to implement even one token democratic reform in 26 years including 5 GNU years when they had the golden opportunity to do so. They have proven beyond all reasonable doubt that they are corrupt, incompetent, liars and conmen.
Chamisa & co. will never ever implement any meaningful democratic reforms. Never ever! They failed to get even one reform implemented during the GNU it is naive, to say the least, to expect them to do so now when Zanu PF has all the trump cards.
Some Zimbabweans have a knack for flogging a dead horse couple this with the personality cult mentality, they consider Chamisa to be a demigod who can do any thing - they expect the dead horse to get up! Why millions would consider a demigod in these day and age beggars belief! When you see some one flogging a dead horse it is the IQ of the individual you should question!

The root cause why Zimbabwe is a failed state is the failure to hold free, fair and credible elections. So if the failure to hold free and fair elections is the root cause we are a failed state then why is it that the nation has never ever had any meaningful debate on this issue which less come up with a solution in 46 years of rigged elections and counting? Well there lays the nub of it all!
Zanu PF has been very careful to ensure the regime never ever defended the failure to hold free and fair elections directly but indirectly. The regime would always create a diversion, it will fight to impose the diversion and fight even harder to make sure the diversion displace the issue of rigged elections and/or talk of implementing the democratic reforms.
The primary purpose of the 2008 to 2013 GNU was to implement the democratic reforms. Mugabe and his Zanu PF cronies managed to out manoeuvre Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends to make sure they did not submit even one reform proposal. Not even one token reform!
The Constitutional amendment No.3 is just the latest Zanu PF dirty trick to draw attention away from the fact that the regime has not implemented even one reform since the rigged 2023 elections. Professor Jonathan Moyo, the regime’s strategic, revealed that the regime will be using all manner of dirty tactics including violence to silence all the amendment’s critics. This is nothing but the gratuitous violence during the njambanja farm invasion - an accelerant to make sure the decoy displaces the issue of free and fair elections at all costs.
It is disappointing that many people have once again fallen prey to Zanu PF’s Machiavellian manipulations. Like is or not Zanu PF thugs are playing chess and not the game of “NHODO” simpletons like Chamisa are playing.

Nelson Chamisa & co. have failed to implement even one token reform to end this Zanu PF dictatorship in 26 years including 5 GNU years. They are corrupt, incompetent, liars and conmen and we have paid dearly as a nation for our failure to see this all these last 26 years.
Chamisa has returned to the political dance floor for one purpose only, to lie and con us into participating in flawed 2028 elections or whenever they will be. We will only have ourselves to blame if we let this happen.

In its tyrannical resolve to force Constitutional Amendment No. 3.
Zanu PF is threatening to launch Gukurahundi Mark 3 violence. The regime got away with Gukurahundi Mark 1, the 1983 to 1987, and Gukurahundi Mark 2, 2008 Operation Mavhotera Papi. We must make it very clear that the regime will NOT get away with this Mark 3.
It must be said that we did have many opportunities to end the Zanu PF dictatorship, notably during the 2008 to 2013 GNU, and we wasted the all. It is a great pity that even now with the benefit of hind sight many still fail to realise the wasted chances. Those who have failed to learn from the past are destined to repeat the same foolish mistakes over and over again.
@ Isaac Makomichi
Stop talking nonsense when Mnangagwa and Chiwenga launched Operation Mavhotera Papi in 2008, were they doing that for the good of Zimbabwe or to gratify their insatiable hunger for absolute power and to hide their murderous past! Chiwenga is just another Zanu PG murderous thug no different from Mnangagwa or Mugabe.
After 46 years of tyrannical Zanu PF rule it is insane that anyone would still be fighting for yet another Zanu PF dictator to rule! No wonder we are a failed state, we really have some nincompoops amongst us. Fcuk me!

The worst thing that can ever happen to Zimbabwe right now is for Zanu PF to rig next elections and get away with it because we were once again conned. We are busy chasing constitutional amendment No. 3, a decoy, instead of dealing with the real big issue - implementing reforms and finally stop Zanu PF rigging elections.
@ Tapiwa Mutsago
I agree with the writer bt as u know tht in marriage pple do vows """ido ido til death do us apart""""" bt as tym goes on zvinozochinja bambo ndosaka wanhu vachizorambana so now seems Gudoguru rinenge rakuona kuti rakashandiswa zvaro now vakuona kuti nosense."
Exactly! Chiwenga does not regret riding roughshod over the people denying them their rights. He is regretting that he trusted Mnangagwa to step down and was betrayed. Chiwenga would rig the next elections and repeat Operation Mavhotera Papi just to get into state house!
Only a fool would mistake Chiwenga's anger against Mnangagwa for a road to Damascus moment! Chiwenga is a thug and not a democratic! It is shocking how some people will airbrush history, facts and reality because they have a personality cult mentality!
