MDC-T finally admit to ZEC incompetence but yet to admit to their own incompetence!

The MDC-T spokesperson Obert Gutu has said the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission is incapable of conducting transparent elections in the advent of Zanu PF interference in its affairs.

He said the MDC is convinced that the ZEC is completely and utterly incapable of conducting elections that will pass the test of legitimacy.

"The ZEC secretariat is still militarised and packed with State - affiliated security agents and other Zanu PF regime apologists. The secretariat is currently run by a shadowy but apparently very powerful clique that is working very closely with the Nikuv rigging machinery," he said.

Anyone who has followed Zimbabwe’s chaotic, violent and rigged elections would agree that ZEC is incapable of running free and fair elections but what they would also demand from the MDC-T “motor-mouth” spokesman is when exactly did the penny finally drop for the party. The composition of personal working in ZEC and the “shadowy” influences of Nikuv and Zanu PF in commission’s activities have not changed since the July 2013 elections. Indeed one of the institutions singled out for democratic reforms in the 2008 GPA was ZEC. And yet MDC has failed to get even one reform implemented throughout the five years of the GNU.

MDC-T against advice from SADC and other international organization not to take part in the 2013 elections without reforms ignored the advice and took part in the elections. The whole world has the right to know just what exactly has change since July 2013 when MDC-T took part in elections with the same ZEC, etc. to justify MDC-T’s 180 degrees change of heart on elections.

Gutu said MDC reiterates its call for all peace - loving Zimbabweans, SADC, AU as well as the United Nations to come together and put a stop to our beloved country's continued slide into political illegitimacy as well as debilitating socio - economic decay. He said it is not too late to save Zimbabwe from collapsing into a pariah and failed state. This is a defining moment in the history of post -independent Zimbabwe.   

No Mr Gutu, the defining moment is Zimbabwe’s history was when the country had the chance to implement the democratic reforms necessary for free and fair elections, had five years to do so, but failed to get even one reform implemented. Not even one!

SADC, AU and the UN have better things to do than waste time with a nation led by corrupt and incompetent men and women like you Mr Obert Gutu who were given golden opportunity to dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship and wasted it. Tsvangirai, Biti, Ncube and all the other MDC leaders were “busy enjoying themselves during the GNU and forgot why they were there!” SADC leaders said in sheer frustration after the rigged July 2013 elections.

Ever since you lost your MP seats on the gravy train, you and your fellow MDC leaders have once again become devoted to saving “Zimbabwe from collapsing into a pariah and failed state” It is impossible to believe you are the same individuals who failed to implement even one reform designed to save the country. And yet the historic facts are there for all to see!

In fact it is same SADC and the donors who deserted MDC in droves because of the party’s pathetic performance during the GNU to whom MDC is again turning for help. Much as they would want to save Zimbabwe from becoming a failed state they are nonetheless under no illusion that MDC can play any other role than drag the nation even deeper into the abyss.

MDC leaders have proven during the GNU years that they are corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent. Zimbabweans were foolish to have ever entrusted the destiny of this great nation into such corrupt and incompetent individuals to would be sheer folly to do that again. Mr Gutu we know who really do not care about saving Zimbabwe from being a failed state but are only saying it because you know that is what the people want to hear and to regain their trust and votes. All you want is to get back on the gravy train!  What the nation wants is real change and an end to the suffering and that will not come from electing village idiots, much less known village idiots, like you, Mr Obert Chaurura Gutu!

After your betrayal of the nation during the GNU, you and your fellow MDC idiots are finished; that truth has not sunk in yet but not to worry, it will.
