Joint Operations Command (JOC) has deployed
hardline security personal, retired and uniformed, in all the provinces in
Zimbabwe to mastermind Mugabe and Zanu PF election campaign.
“This is not something new because after the 2008
disputed presidential elections, 200 senior army members were deployed and
spearheaded a campaign which forced Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai to pull
out of the presidential run-off,” a source told the Zimbabwe Independent.
Major-General Douglas Nyikayaramba, a staunch Mugabe
loyalist who has public said he will not accept a Tsvangirai victory, will be
in Manicaland.
You cannot teach old dog new tricks, yet Mugabe
and Zanu PF are now being forced not just to learn new tricks but to forget all
the old tricks. A very tall order indeed!
Zanu PF has never held a free, fair and democratic
election in all the regime's 33 years in power. With each successive election
the party's popularity has sunk deeper and deeper and so the regime has responded
by digging deeper and deeper into its bag of dirty tricks including the use of
wanton violence as in 2008.
Zanu PF is not just unpopular with the
people; they hate the party, especially Mugabe, with a passion. To win this
election Zanu PF was going to use the dirtiest tricks ever. After the sham
elections of 2008, Mugabe knows the whole world is watching him like a hawk. If
they declare him “illegitimate” as happened in 2008; SADC will not be there to
bail him out this time.

There are reports that voter registration is very slow in urban centers raising fears that many Zimbabweans will be disenfranchised.
People should refuse to let the officials leave until they have registered, riot Police or not! The regime will be exposed for the brute it is; beating up people because they wanted to register to vote!
Please make sure you keep your copy of the vote registration because registering alone will not guarantee your name appearing in the voters roll come voting day. At least if you can prove that you did register, you have some chance of voting.
@ Kaffirboy
Some dictators go quietly when they realize the game is up, other like Romania’s Nicolae Ceauşescu remained defiant right up to the last minute. It will be no surprise if Mugabe turns out to be just another Nicolae Ceauşescu. It is my fervent hope that his ego will not result in any more waste of the nation’s resources much less any violence and blood-shed. Mugabe and all those rats around him are doomed, justice has finally caught up with them; they do not have to drag even more innocent people with them.
You have blood of over 30 000 innocent Zimbabweans on your hands already; please, please I beg your do not be the cause of more innocent blood to be shed! The tide of change has turned against you Mugabe and the Zanu PF dictatorship is finished, causing the shed of more Zimbabwean lives will not stop change.
Ms Zulu should ask how many reforms has MDC implemented since the SADC meeting three weeks ago? Not one. She should ask MDC if they have even drafted a proposal to even one of the reforms, just one? Again; not a sausage.
SA already a lot of egg on its face because MDC, not SA or SADC, failed to get even one reform implemented. President Zuma would look a first grade fool if the elections are delayed and still not one meaningful reform is implemented. He should accept that MDC, with the help of SA and SADC, had five years to implement the reforms and now that opportunity was lost. There is really no point is crying over spilt milk!
All these calls for elections to be delayed are nothing but a distraction which Mugabe, under the blanket afforded him by the failure to implement the reforms, will now take full advantage of to do mischief. The call for election delay, although well intended, will accomplish nothing of note but may cause even more irreparable damage to the efforts to make the most of a bad situation.
One of the reasons MDC wanted the elections to be delayed was to allow the voter regis-tration exercise to be carried out properly. They dismiss the exercise that was completed 19 May 2013 as shambolic. Those of us said at the time, it was shambolic because the party had failed to take the necessary measures to ensure it was done properly. Without doing something to correct this, it was pointless and a waste of taxpayers’ money to re-peat the exercise. Well that is exactly what has happened, again!
“Clearly the voter registration exercise is shambolic and partisan; it is unprofessional, incomplete, and it is premised on a very wrong understanding of our constitutional law,” said MDC spokesman Douglas Mwonzora.
What a bunch of incompetent idiots. And they are expecting the people to vote for them again!
@ Chimbwido
Well Chimbwido you should also add that you were a Mbare Zanu PF thug who "kicked his victims in the teeth until the bled profusely". Zanu PF recognised you contribution to the establishment of the dictatorship and, like many others murderous thug, were rewarded with a farm.
The country's economic melt down due to the years of mismanagement, corruption and looting has forced you, with millions of others, to leave the country. You are now living in UK as a part-time lecturer in rhetorical nonsense. You still have the farm and thus one of those "mobile phone" farmers.
The reality that Mugabe and Zanu PF are NOT going to repeat the wanton violence of 2008 to stay in power has just dawned on you these last week and since then you cannot sleep or eat properly. For the first time in 33 years the unthinkable regime change is now a certainty.
Well, Chimbwido, I did warn you that you will end your worthless life hanging at the end of a hangman's rope and now you believe me.
@ Schicco
Mugabe is smart enough to know the Zanu PF dictatorship is not sustainable politically - it is denying millions of Zimbabweans the rights, freedom and liberty, the very things the nation fought and many died for in the struggle for independence. It is not sustainable economically too - the mismanagement, corruption and looting has created a few filthy rich at the expense of millions forced into a life of abject poverty and despair.
Sadly, the other members of the Junta Mnangagwa, Chihuri, Chiwenga and they have hardline supporters like Nyikayaramba will want the dictatorship to continue regardless. Rather than risk losing all their loot, the life of luxury and, worst of all, risk have all the skeletons of the over 30 000 the regime has murdered in its 33 years in power uncovered; they would risk using violence again to “win” this election and face the consequences.
The consequences of another violent election are that a many innocent Zimbabweans will once again be harassed, beaten, raped and many killed. The international community will refuse to accept the result as legitimate and forcing the Junta to finally accept defeat but that will not too late for the broken limbs and lost lives.
To the rank and file Police Officers and Soldiers, who have been co-opted into the Junta and will be expected to commit human rights violation or losing their job; it is time to serious reconsider your position. For years, you have ran with the hare and hunted with the dogs; you are now being called upon to kill. Let thugs like Nyikayaramba, do their own dirty work.
You are all as much victims of this dictatorship as the rest of us. If you really do not know that your duty is to uphold the law and to defend the nation then you are not worthy of the uniform you are wearing. Worse, still, one of these fine days you will have to answer for every limb you have broken and the blood you shed.
@ Chimbwido
The white racist refused to accept that blacks had just cause to fight against white oppression and exploitation. They insisted "Our blacks were happy, it is those communists who are filling their heads with stupid ideas!" Putting aside the patronizing, the whites then were in denial on three fronts:
1) that the system was inherently unjust
2) that the blacks were capable of seeing the injustice for themselves
3) that even if they did see the injustice, that blacks were capable of speaking against these in-justices themselves.
Well remove the white racists and put Zanu PF dictatorship and you will see nothing else has changed. Mugabe and Zanu PF are in denial and are just as patronizing.
People like me do not need Mugabe, Zanu PF much less a moron like you Chimbwido’s approval, blessing, etc. to express my views just as I never needed the same from the whites. This Zanu PF dictatorship is corrupt and oppressive and it is going to change. Your reign of fear is over!
@ Chimbwido
Chidori-Chininga was one of the Zanu PF Mafia and you lot did not suspect that he would turn against the syndicate and reveal its dirty secretes. The system had him killed but by then the cat was already out of the bag. You are trying you best to limit the damage by claiming it was in fact the Mafia that authorized his report. Whatever next?!
It is most ironic that PM Tsvangirai himself has been involved in the cover up in that he was the last senior Gvt official to visit Marange and say everything was fine. A few weeks later he was on a no-expense-spared sea cruise in the Seychelles with one of his frolicking floozies. (No wonder they were fighting like wild cats to marry Tsvangirai, after being spoilt rotten at great public expense!) Who paid for the cruise; is what the nation will want to know!?
Mugabe was of course very pleased that Tsvangirai and his MDC friend could be bought so cheaply so they would see-nothing, hear-nothing and say-nothing. What the tyrant has found impossible to fathom is that there are a few people even in the mafia with a conscience and a sense of justice. And that conscience will compel them to break rank and denounce the dictator-ship and all it stands for, as Chidori-Chininga did!
Now with the dictatorship on its last legs, there will be no doubt more Mafia operatives who would want to break rank, more to save their own skin than that they have a conscience!
@ Snowden
Do not be obsessed about where to draw the line between magamba, magandanga, vatungamiri, masoja, CIO, Police, Ministers, Mugabe, justice, etc., etc. Zanu PF is a party of thugs and who thrive in mudded waters even when it is clear they too are suffering. As long as they are doing "better" than the masses, then it is fine. All these thugs care about is that they must retain power at all cost. Who cares who co-opted who; what matters here is that the whole Zanu PF syndicate is corrupt and rotten and must be thrown out!
And since when has what cabinet says mattered? Cabinet is there on paper, and taxpayers will have to pay their wages but when it comes to making any decisions it is JOC and Mugabe who does that!
So Minister Matinenga, please spare us all this nonsense about cabinet ruling!
Security personal who will be away from their station of voting day, July 31 will vote on 14 and 15 July. But unlike in 2008, the polling stations will be in public places and their commanding officer will not know whom the individual voter voted for.
The very fact that last time security operatives were not allowed to vote in secret but supervised by their commanding officer who would see whom had been voted for shows how much the so called "top brass" could not trust the junior officers to vote for Mugabe. This would be one more thing for the JOC Junta to worry about, as if it did not have enough to worry about already!
@ Bobsled
Mugabe is the one who created the Zanu PF dictatorship and therefore it would be unreasonable to expect him to want it dismantled by implementing reforms, let us agree on that. So if there were going to be any reforms it would be Tsvangirai and MDC who would have initiated them; right. Well did they initiate any meaningful reforms? No they did not.
SADC leaders themselves have accused MDC leaders of becoming "too comfortable in government and forgetting they were there to create an environment for free, fair and credible elections".
MDC has had five years to implement the reforms but failed to get even one reform implemented. Not even one reform!
You and many others Tsvangirai supporters are clearly in denial; that is your democratic prerogative. You have your heads stuck in Tsvangirai’s backside; please yourselves, only I can say is it is not very health or wise to starve the brain of fresh air. What matters here is:
1) Your denial will not change the facts on the ground that not even one reform was implemented because of MDC incompetence
2) The nation must now deal with the consequences of MDC’s incompetence and the immediate consequence if being that there elections are NOT going to be free and fair.
The realities of a repeat of the cheating and wanton violence of 2008 are a certainty. So we are going to have hundreds of thousands denied their vote, God knows how many will be beaten, raped and others even killed. And instead of being concerned about that all you twats are concerned about defending the ego of Tsvangirai by denying or give stupid excuses for his incompetence. Well, now you know why you are twats!
@ Super
I can tell you, Mudede has come up with other ways of boasting Mugabe's vote even here; he always comes up with something. There is going to be chaos in these elections and in all that chaos there will be just too many opportunities to rig. This is like celebrating that it is not Mugabe who will toss the coin, a significant achievement I accept, but Tsvangirai would still lose even if he tossed the coin - coin with HEAD "Mugabe wins" and Tail "Tsvangirai lose".
Tsvangirai's incompetence has made it easy for Mugabe to rig this election. The people must accept Tsvangirai's incompetence and therefore redouble their vigilance. We the people must take over the responsibility to toss the coin and bring our own coin!
Mugabe will try to rig this election, we the people have to make it very difficult for him to do so. We will be foolish to count of Tsvangirai or MDC to stop him, they really do not have the foggiest idea what they are doing which is why they failed to get not even one democratic reform implemented is five years!
‘We have endured 33 years of dictatorship, endured 33 years of torture from ZANU PF, so another 6 days will not kill us. We will be there on July 31st because people are determined to vote Robert Mugabe out of power.
‘ZANU PF must not underestimate the resilience of our people and surely they must not underestimate the determination of our people to end this dictatorship,’ said Hwende, MDC parliamentary candidate for Chegutu West.
Hwende was responding to reports of increasing Zanu PF intimidation and violence in Chegutu.
Hundreds of thousands of Zimbabweans were beaten and/or raped and over 500 were murdered in 2008. It was unacceptable that it happened and it is unthinkable that it should ever happen again. And yet here we are, the nightmare is once again upon us. Why?!
MDC and individuals like Hwende have never looked at ending this nightmare, they really do not care. When the issue is forced upon them, as it is now, all people like Hwende can think of is that they people have the "resilience" to take whatever Zanu PF dishes out!
Hwende, over 500 innocent people were murdered in 2008 for Pete's sake! Do you want this to be repeated again?
@ Muzezuru
The fact of the matter is that ZEC can not say how many ballot papers where printed, account for all the ballots is issued and, now, it is clear it can not safe guard the cast ballots too!
@ Bhutsu
That is the usual MDC arrogance that is going to cost the nation this elections. We want a free, fair and credible election and not a rigged one. Is MDC daring Zanu PF to rig the elections? What is Zanu PF have the millions of rigged votes and MDC fail to "overwhelm" them? Will MDC accept the results; after all they expected the rigging and were confident of overwhelming it all!
You MDC people are breath-taking incompetent and naïve. You want to give the impression that you have the numbers to win these elections regardless of the cheating when in truth you do not. In any case, the nation should have free, fair and credible elections and not messing around with your stupid dare!
@ Abu
Mugabe has been very fortunate to have someone as incompetent as Tsvangirai as an adversary. After the sham elections of 2008, Mugabe was finished; he only survived because Tsvangirai has proven to be breathtakingly incompetent, that's all!
@ Oscar
The only reason these elections are going ahead regardless all the evidence on the ground that they will not be free and fair is because MDC believe they can "overwhelm" and overhaul whatever Zanu PF throw at them and win. MDC has done a great job at de-campaign themselves.
Mugabe and Zanu PF will have to do something extra-ordinary far beyond the denying of hundreds of thousands their vote, manufacturing votes , etc. to be rejected as the "winner". MDC has accepted all these things as "normal" and it will be hard for it to complain of them now that it has tacitly accepted them.
MDC have made vote rigging acceptable; it would be truly tragic if Mugabe was to "win" because of this stupidity!
@ Yepec
Tell idiots like you to think for themselves is an important task and one that should have been done years ago and, if the nation is to get out of this hell, must be done.
There are nearly 30 political parties in Zimbabwe and 90% of their supporters are idiots like you Yepec. It is not no political leaders the country needs but thinking voters. I do not expect you to understand this given that you are a half shilling!
As recent as Monday 29 July 2013, two days before the elections, Tsvangirai was boosting that MDC would still win the elections regardless the undemocratic realities on the ground. He should have implemented the reforms but believed he did not need free and fair elections because he would win regardless.
Tsvangirai gambled and he lost miserably! More significantly Tsvangirai gambled with the ordinary people's basic right, hopes and dreams!
@ Chimbwido
The war of independence was for human rights, freedom and liberty. 33 years after independence and the ordinary Zimbabwe is yet to enjoy the basic human rights including the right to a free vote and the right to life itself.
Mugabe has murdered over 30 000 Zimbabweans to establish and retain his de facto one-party dictatorship. During the just ended elections there was the usual intimidation but, happily, very few were beaten and no one murdered.
The tyrant and his henchmen eased on the wanton violence because they had hatched a massive vote rigging plan. Millions were once again denied their right to vote and yet wonder of wonders, miracle of miracles nearly 30 constituencies had over 70% voter turnout. Chipinge East even had 141% voter turnout.
On the economic front; 33 years of gross mismanagement, rampant corruption and all-out looting spree of the last ten years has completely destroyed the Zimbabwe economy. Yes Mugabe and his cronies have become filth rich whilst millions have been forced to live in abject poverty.
Millions have left the country is a desperate effort to escape political oppression and/or economic poverty.
Mugabe and Zanu PF are not going to become your model democrats and grant all Zimbabweans their fundamental rights and freedoms just because they rigged and won this election? The mismanagement, corruption and looting will continue too.
The people, on the other hand, will continue to suffer the political oppression and the ill effects of the failed economy. And so they will continue fighting for democratic change and put an end to this Zanu PF dictatorship.
All Mugabe, Zanu PF and their paid acolytes like you Chimbwido ever cared about was absolute power and the economic benefits it brings. Mugabe is promising the people ownership of the mines, banks, etc. and yet he denied them ownership of the land. All this talk of being war heroes giving Zimbabwe to blacks is propaganda; the people know that.
Zanu PF propaganda is no different from that of the white colonialists; they both tried to convince the people to see freedom, liberty, economic prosperity, etc. the very things the regime was systematically denying the people. You can fool the blind that there is no corn in his rice but not so with salt and pepper!
Mugabe rigs the elections and he thinks he can fool anyone into believing he did it for the ordinary Zimbabwean and to strike a “blow to the British and its Allies!” What an insult!
TWO Democratic lawmakers from Illinois, Congressman Danny K Davis (Afro American) and Bobby L Rush worked to help lift US economic sanctions against Zimbabwe after be-ing targeted by an illegal $3.4 million lobbying scheme, according to FBI testimony un-sealed in federal court.
During the slave trade it was blacks who sold their fellow blacks for a piece of calico cloth and a handful of beads. Well $3.4 million is not exactly a piece of calico cloth; but then he is not selling one black but a whole nation! Congressman Davis’ forefather was himself a slave but, mark my word, if he did not sell slave himself before he was finally collared himself, then his descent is sure making up for it!
Selling a fellow black cheaply for a piece of calico cloth is in Congressman Davis’ blood. Mugabe and his Zanu PF cronies are is the modern day African slave sellers.
A UN Watch monitoring group has called for the UN and other country to boycott the UN World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) General Assembly on 26th August in Victoria Falls in protest against Mugabe’s rigged elections.
Credible elections observers have said one million voters countrywide were refused the chance to vote and yet 27 out of the 210 constituencies had voter turnout of 70% plus and one, Chipinge East, even had 141% voter turnout. How can that be possible unless the election was rigged. There can be no doubt that there massive vote rigging by Mugabe.
Whilst every honest and level headed Zimbabwean would blame Tsvangirai and his MDC friends and no one else for failing to implement the reforms and thus allow Mugabe to rig the elections. Still the UN and the world at large should not punish the rest of the people of Zimbabwe for Tsvangirai's breath-taking incompetence!
Mugabe's arrogance and total disregard of the suffering of his fellow Zimbabweans including their very lives is well documented and has already set a dangerous precedent. It is high time the UN acted decisively and stopped him!
@ Michelle
I said that as facilitator there was little President Zuma could have done to force the implementation of the reforms if Tsvangirai, who should have been pushing for the reforms, was content to do nothing. However, President Zuma could have told Tsvangirai, in private, that he and SADC wanted him to get off his backside and implement the reforms. It is clear that President Zuma did no such thing otherwise he did he side with Tsvangirai when it was too late to implement the reforms?
If you cannot “see any evidence of vote rigging”, Mugabe has too just admitted the same thing. Well it must be because you, like Mugabe, are mentally blind or that you just do not want to see the evidence. Either way there is nothing I can do to change that but be rest assured that the fact still remains that Mugabe rigged the elections.
@ Mdu
Failure to produce the voters roll on time did affect the outcome in that one million were turned away from Polling Stations over of Zimbabwe because their names were not on the voters roll at the particular Polling Station. We already know that many of these people's name was in another ward or constituency. These people would have found out this if the rolls had been released on time. There are many other irregularities which would have been sorted if the roll was released on time.
There is overwhelming evidence of vote rigging at a massive scale, which is why there is so much evidence – Mugabe simply overkilled this one. Just because you do not want to see the evidence; does not mean it is not there. It is there!
@ Mdu
I have never said it was President Zuma’s job to implement the reforms.
Let me give you an example; if a young Prince should be failing to produce the heir to the throne; it is the King or some such public figure’s duty to call the young Prince and tell him to get on with the job, particularly if it should be known that he is usually too drunk to do anything. What is wrong with that!
No one expects the King to do the Prince’s homework or suggesting that anyone else should! (Although in this case, no doubt there will be many willing volunteers – for King and country!)
It is no secret that Tsvangirai wasted the last five years globe-trotting and chasing women of ill repute and completely forgot about the reforms. SADC heads has issued a statement accusing him and his fellow MDC friends of enjoying being in government and forgetting the reforms!
@ Mdu
People like Tsvangirai are only interested in getting on the gravy train and once on they would not want it stopped. The people's mistake is that they are naïve not to see that. What MDC has done is no different from what Zanu PF has done and the next lot, whoever they are would do exactly the same thing! The gravy train is not going to stop although each successive generation of politicians will promise to do just that!
@ Dino
The failure to implement the reform is the heart and soul of these chaotic elections. I have been obsessed, yes obsessed, with getting them implemented because I knew it would be impossible to have free and fair elections without the reforms.
Tsvangirai and MDC not only ignore the implementing the reforms, the idiots even said the country would still have free and fair elections without the reforms. It was only after the rubbish Copac constitution had been passed in the referendum that the idiots finally said they wanted the reforms implemented for free and fair elections. Of course, it was too late to have the reforms implemented then.
If you were not such a nincompoop then you would be annoyed with Tsvangirai for landing the nation into this mess because of his incompetence. But being a nincompoop; true to you nature of one mentally challenged; you are mad at me for pointing out what went wrong.
Mugabe has his blind loyalists like Chimbwido and Tsvangirai has his equally blind loyalists like you and Yepec. You lot may think you are different but intellectually you are peas from the same pod - the lens-cap into your brains has been super-glued on by years of mental inactivity. The light of reason cannot penetrate all those layers of fat!
By the way, I never said "the international community (should) legitimise an illegal process just because of Tsvangirai's so called incompetence." Read what I wrote, where did I say that?
Tsvangirai's breath-taking is there as a matter of public record, it is only nincompoop like you would even now, continue to accept it for what it is. If idiots like you had accepted my warning and rejected the Copac rubbish in the referendum; this fiasco would have been avoided!
@ Sterling
No one is disputing the fact that these elections were rigged. The point here is that Tsvangirai should have implemented the reforms and thus stopped the rigging. The idiot did nothing and now he is complaining about the very thing he ignored - how stupid is that!
“Political retribution against known MDC-T supporters is on the rise countrywide, amid reports many have fled their homes after facing relentless threats since the elections on July 31st,” reported S W Radio Africa.
Did anyone in MDC ever consider that this could happen? Well they did, at their January meeting in Inyanga and the party decided the elections would go ahead regardless!
@ Zato
Well, you were so confident that MDC would win these elections; what happened? The trouble with morons like you is that you are blind so blind you failed to see Tsvangirai for the incompetent leader he is! Warning you was a waste of time; there is no one more blind than those who simple refuse to open their eyes!
Sadly, as long as there are blind loyalists like you there will be many more tyrants like Mugabe or incompetent idiots like Tsvangirai who take advantage of you for their own selfish gain.
@ Justice
Tsvangirai's incompetence is a historic fact but that was no excuse for Mugabe rigging the elections and once again denying the people their basic human rights! It is now clear that Mugabe is a ruthless tyrant and no one was fooled. The international community has responded by treating him as if he is a smelly and diseased sewer rat - which is what he is!
Tsvangirai submit 15 reasons to show why the elections were rigged.
If the reforms had been implemented then the vote rigging would not have taken place. If Mugabe had dared to do so then an independent ZEC, Police, Supreme Court, etc. would have ensured that the evidence of the rigging was amassed and justice was done.
Tsvangirai had five years to implement reforms and not even one reform was implemented. There is no reason why MDC failed to implement the reform other than his sheer incompetence!
@Kojo
You can only say that because you did not understand that the democratic reforms and the new democratic constitution agreed in the GPA were meant to deliver free and fair elections. In the end we did not have free elections because, as we all know, none of the democratic reforms were implemented. Not even one.
As for the Copac constitution is not even worth the paper it is written on. The GNU spent $100 million writing that rubbish; what a criminal waste of money.
MDC failed to implement the reforms; accepted a rubbish constitution and until the very day of the voting the idiots believed they would still win the election even if it is not free and fair. Well, if that does not constitute blundering incompetence then I do not know what does.
@ golonice
Mugabe rigged the elections just because he has had to deal with one of the most incompetent politicians does not change the facts of the ground. Zimbabwe should have implemented the democratic reforms, a prerequisite, for free and fair elections. Without the reforms Mugabe was able to have his loyalists in ZEC, the Polices, Courts, everywhere. And with all these loyalists he was running the elections in much he was a competitor too. He had all the chance to rig the elections and so he did.
In the end the rigging was so blatant that even Mugabe knows he overcooked it! One million people were refused the chance to vote in an election in which 3 million voted; that means 25% were refused the vote. How is it then possible that 27 constituencies still had more than 70% plus voter turnout with one, Chipinge East, with 141% voter turnout!
Mugabe and his supporters can deny there was no vote rigging but that will not change the facts; the elections were not free and fair by any account and the situation was made even worse by the blatant vote rigging.
No one was fooled by Mugabe, the whole world he rigged the elections and many of them see him for the sewer rat he is.
@ Afrolove
How many billions of dollars is Africa losing every minute because of mismanagement and corruption? You are obsessed about what happened 50 years ago over which you cannot change but are doing nothing about what is happening now and tomorrow.
Leaders like Mugabe love idiots like you of course because he can rig elections and call it a "blow against the British"! Loot billions of dollars from dodge deals like Marange diamonds and blame the economic collapse on sanctions. He knows that your hatred of the West has blocked your pea-size brain making it impermeable to reason, logic and even common sense!
Afrolove you are an imbecile. It is the likes of tyrants like Mugabe supported by imbeciles like you who have dragged Africa into the gutter and are holding it there!
@ Afrolove
See what I mean; we have curse idiots like you who think a tyrant who has rigged elections and murdered over 30 000 innocent fellow black Africans is still a blessing! People like you have their heads buried in the sand you are totally incapable of seeing what the whole world would consider to obvious. Africa is stuck on first base because of leaders like Mugabe and their totally blind supporters like you!
I know that everyone was made in the image of God and therefore we are all a blessing. He gave us all the discerning mind so we will know right from wrong. It is not His doing or wish that some people have chosen to seat on their talents and mentally become couch potatoes.
The brain, like every other muscle, means to be excised or it will become feeble and useless. You cannot see anything wrong with Mugabe because you have the mental ability of a five-year old child, you are an imbecile.
You say you love Africa so how can having a murderous tyrant like Mugabe be good for Africa? Only an imbecile would think so! Sadly for Africa, we have so, so many others just like you!
@ Nik
Yes a few of these idiots got a small farm as a reward for all the dirty work they have done for the tyrant including murder. The great majority have blood on the hands and Mugabe has treated them with the same indifference as he has treated the rest of us.
Mugabe is already spending $200 millions building a spy college for his CIO thugs at a time when key sectors like education are all but dead due to lack of funds. The country's over 300 000 schools have got $10 million per year and it shows. Only 18% of the Zimbabwean "O" level students passed five subjects or more last year! Still that did not stop the building of the spy col-lege!
You are right Nik, Zimbabwe is a failed state!
@ Yepec
You forgot the idiots who kept wittering on and on about these grand Tsvangirai and MDC's "strategies" when there were none. Yes people like "motor mouth" Mwonzora were the authors is the lies but it was brain-dead idiots like Yepec who amplified the lies and carried them to all the corners of the country. These idiots were the sheep in "Animal Farm" who bleated "Four legs good! Two legs barrrrrrrrd!" killing the chance for meaningful debate!
Now after the many opportunities for real and meaningful change have been lost it is not enough for these Yepec brain-dead idiots to finally admit that his MDC masters were "speaking the same language of deceit"! You should also apologise on your own behalf Yepec for having been these deceitful, incompetent and blundering idiots' cheer leader. You must admit that you had your head stuck in Tsvangirai's backside you could hardly breath much less think! Say it!
By the way President Khama is a man of honour and you should not put him on par with the likes of blundering and incompetent Tsvangirai much less vote rigging and murderous tyrants like Mugabe.
@ FaceIt
Tsvangirai is a blundering and incompetent idiot, that is a matter of public and historic record. Mugabe is a vote rigging and murderous tyrant that too is a matter of public and historic record.
Yes by failing to implement the reforms Tsvangirai made it easy for Mugabe to rig these elections. If elections were a game the two played with no one else involved or affected then Mugabe won and that is that.
These elections were a national matter. The millions of Zimbabweans have a right to a meaning-ful say in the governance of the country. Mugabe, this vote rigging and murderous tyrant, this sewer rat has once again denied the people this basic right.
Your call for evidence of vote rigging is typical Zanu PF brainwashed mentality. There is a mountain of evidence you just do not want to see it. Long before the elections it was clear that there was no free media and freedom of expression and public organs like the Police and Judiciary were not impartial.
One million voters were refused the right to vote constituting 25% of the three million cast votes. And yet 27 constituencies went on to have 70% plus voter turnout. Chipinge East even had 141% voter turnout. It is obvious that some people voted two or three times!
On the day of the elections every saw voters being bussed in to vote and many of them were latter seen abandoned. Surely the Police should have questioned these people; they did not.
ZEC is legally obliged to keep all the election records for at least six months and yet it failed to produce them even after it was instructed to do so by the Court.
By the way the same Courts conveniently forgot to insist that ZEC released the documents. There is no ZEC officials did not know half of the things that went on. Every few records were kept. If you are going to cheat you do not leave a trial of evidence; common sense.
Still, the Court Challenge of the vote rigging would have only proven just how little ZEC Officials knew what the CIO was doing in the name of ZEC, ZEC’s failure to keep records and just how chaotic the whole election process was. The chaos was deliberate to hide the vote rigging.
As I have said there is a mountain of evidence showing Mugabe rigged the elections; people like you are determined not to see it! I am smart enough not to waste time in pointing out the evidence. I am interested in making sure that the label “Mugabe is a vote rigging and murderous tyrant” sticks!
Mugabe is a sewer rat; the whole world knows it and I am here to make sure that idiots like you do not sweep this under the carpet! It is not going to be business as usual because Zimbabwe deserves better that a sewer-rat for head of state!
@ datbrother
Mugabe rigged the elections and he and you his acolytes expect everyone to just accept this as a matter of course, fait accompli, as happened with all the other vote rigging, beatings, rapes and murders by the regime. Well this is not going to be swept under the carpet much less forgotten.
The good people of Zimbabwe deserve a lot better than a sewer-rat for Head of State!
If there are problems brewing in other SADC countries, you attend to them. I am staying right here fighting to expose the trickery of Zimbabwe's sewer rat! I am going to tell the whole what the sewer rat is up to 24/7!
@ Lawrence
No doubt Mugabe had hoped that there will be no paper trail and yet the result spoke volumes of the vote rigging. The problem here is no that there is no evidence but that you do not want to see it. That is your choice!
Your refusal to see the evidence does not change the facts on the ground: Mugabe rigged the elections. The consequence of this is that the people of Zimbabwe now have a head of state they did not vote for. The people deserve better than to have a sewer rat imposed on them!
I am here to fight for the right of the people of Zimbabwe to have a meaningful say in the governance of the country. I am not going anywhere and you will have to get used to that!
@ Rukudzo
The evidence is there and you are paid to say otherwise.
Mugabe has been spending a fortune, some of the money looted from Marange, to USA and UK PR companies to spruce up his sewer rat image. There must be at least 1000 CIO agents monitoring this site, agents like you Rukudzo.
So here you helping to cover up the vote rigging that denied millions of your fellow country men, women and children all hope to end their suffering and brutal repression by denying the vote rigging happened. And you call yourself Rukudzo. I think Rumukosho would have been more appropriate!
@ Themba
What has the "insurgency which was supported by Apartheid South Africa" to do with holding free and fair elections? Nothing! Absolutely nothing! Zero!
The people of Zimbabwe have a right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country and for the last 33 years Mugabe has denied them this basic and fundamental right. The fight for independence was, at its heart, the fight for free and fair and credible elections.
Mugabe has managed to short change the nation because of idiots like you who cannot see the beyond the tip of their nose. All this anti-West rhetoric nonsense is a smoke screen behind which Mugabe has hidden his real intentions of usurping the people's basic rights and freedoms for his own selfish interest!
Insurgents from SA! I bet you do not even know that SA's Apartheid system has been dismantled.
There millions of Zimbabweans in SA today, right now! Many would still have gone to SA even if it was still Apartheid SA just to escapee the economic and political mess in Zimbabwe. That is how bad things have become in Zimbabwe, you nincompoop!
@ Kazukuru
And who are you? Another CIO paid to spruce up the sewer rat's image?
If the money from Marange was used well, there is no reason why Zimbabwe should not be enjoying 20% plus economic growth rates. Instead the sewer rat is spending it all of PR companies and over 1 000 CIO nincompoops like you! What a criminal waste of money and human.
Zimbabwe deserve better than this; this sewer rat should not be allowed to get away with rigging elections. He and his CIO nincompoops must go!
@ Justice
I have said that Tsvangirai and MDC are incompetent and have said so repeatedly in the past. If by rigging the elections Mugabe cheated Tsvangirai and MDC alone, I would have been the first to say it served the incompetent idiots well! By rigging the elections Mugabe cheated the good people of Zimbabwe by once again denying them their basic right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country. No the sewer rat crossed the red line there and he is NOT going to get away with it!
@ Justice
If the people elected the murderous Mugabe because MDC was incompetent that was fine. If, on the other hand, they elected the incompetent MDC because Mugabe is a murderous tyrant; that would have been fine too. Mugabe rigged these elections these elections and thus once again denied the people a meaningful say in the governance of the country.
If you expect me to endorse the vote rigging because Mugabe did not use wanton violence as he did in 2008, which is what SADC and the AU are saying. Think again! The right to free, fair and credible elections does not come with a qualification "This right can be denied if the elections are rigged and no one is murdered!"
Zimbabweans have the right to life and the right to all the other rights including the right to a free, fair and credible vote.
If you expect me to endorse Mugabe's vote rigging on the grounds that Tsvangirai and MDC are incompetent and it was their fault for making it so easy for Zanu PF to rig the elections. I reject that argument too with the contempt it rightly deserves. There is no justification for Zanu PF or anyone for cheating and denying the good people of Zimbabwe their basic and fundamental rights! None!
@ Afrolove
Mugabe has just rigged the elections once again denying the people their right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country. Where does the West come in there?
Mugabe is using the wealth looted from Marange to employ 100 000 CIO agents; many of whom are there to flood the internet site with Zanu PF propaganda to spruce up the image of the sewer rat. How anyone can endorse a vote rigging and murderous tyrant cheating and murdering his/her own kith and kin is the great mystery.
But then, considering it was the fellow blacks who sold their own kith and kin as slaves for a piece of calico cloth and a handful of beads; Afrolove is nothing but the modern day black saving his kith and kin for a laptop from the dictator!
In other words as long as Mugabe remain in power and he and his cronies can continue the looting, the Chinese can join in the looting; the fact that millions of ordinary Zimbabweans are living in abject poverty and are denied a meaningful say in the country, all these do not matter. Well these things matter to the millions of ordinary Zimbabweans whom you refuse to even acknowledge exist and are affected by the vote rigging.
You and your tyrant master, the vote rigging sewer rat will seat and listen to the ordinary Zimbabweans!
@ Ngal
If you should ever get a chance to visit Zimbabwe and experience first-hand the suffering and hopelessness millions of ordinary Zimbabweans have been subjected to, then you will under-stand my anger.
Do you that the life expectancy in Zimbabwe has dropped from 68 years in 1980 to 34 years in 2006 (the last year reliable figures were available)? The country's health services has but col-lapsed and yet Mugabe has reportedly paid an Israeli firm that helped him rig the elections $10 million - that is more than the tyrant has allocated for Ministry of Health for the whole year.
The tyrant is spending $200 million building a Spy University for his notorious CIO. Hundreds of thousands of children are dying of preventable diseases and only the sewer rat is concern about is how to silence the already voiceless masses even more! Do you want me to go on!
If, by Africa culture, you think Zimbabweans should continue to suffer in silence then there is something wrong with that culture and it must be changed. Culture must serve the people and not sacrifice the people’s hopes and dreams and all that makes them humans on the altar of cul-ture.
If there is a Zimbabwean out there who is not angry at Mugabe rigging these elections and thus denying the nation the best chance in 33 years to end this criminal waste of human and material resources by this tyrant then it is because he or she does not understand what is going on here!
I will be the first to say, many clearly do not have the foggiest idea otherwise we would not be in this mess! If you really want to help you should be encourage them to open their eyes and not cheering those with their heads buried in the sand, in the name of African culture!
As for me, I have come to the conclusion that some of them like Yepec deserve a kick in the backsides whilst others like Chimbwido must face the full force of the law for shedding innocent blood. Someone has to do this if the nation is to ever get out of this hell-hole and the lots fell on me. Getting very angry is in the job description!
@ Mhofeti
Ask yourself; who telling the people sanctions will hurt
them more than they will hurt Mugabe and his cronies? Mugabe and his cronies!
The same sewer rat who rigged the elections and denied them this basic and critical right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country. And the tyrant and his acolytes are now flatly denying they rigged the elections.
The people KNOW Mugabe is lying about not rigging the elections; they know he will be lying too about the sanctions hurting them.
The people have been bombarded with Zanu PF propaganda for decades that the West's sanctions are the root cause of the country's economic melt-down. But they can also see with their own eyes how the regime has taken over the productive farms and turn them into wastelands.
They know this is the root cause of the dramatic fall in the country’s fortunes from a net exporter of food to the now yearly chronic food shortages.
They have also seen with their own eyes how Zanu PF has been spending money throughout these elections as if there is no tomorrow, money looted from Marange diamonds fields, whilst the schools and hospitals are barely functioning due to poor funding.
They know the regime is lying to them about the cause of the economic meltdown and similarly lying about the sanctions hurting them.
Zanu PF’s argument that the sanction must be removed because they hurt the people is very hollow. Since when has the Zanu PF dictatorship ever cared about the wellbeing of the ordinary people? If it did then the nation would not be in this mess!
Clearly the people do not understand the intricate details of democratic reforms but they do understand the gist of the reforms, and will do so even better if someone had bothered to explain it.
The people also understand that without the reforms every little will ever be accomplished. The essence of the targeted sanctions is to pressure Mugabe and Zanu PF to accept meaningful democratic changes! The imposition of the sanction by the West therefore can only be for their benefit and nothing else.
The only pressure now on Mugabe to accept meaningful reforms is from the imposed sanctions and it is imperative that the people should accept the sanctions if the nation if ever going to get out of this mess!
Judging from the number bussed in voters, it was self-evident that there was a voter registration slip scam. And Tsvangirai even confirm that he had the evidence of the scam on elections day itself.
"On election day, we unearthed a scam where tens of thousands of fraudulent slips were issued out and used to vote," the report says.
So why the Dickens did Tsvangirai withdraw the court challenge he had all the evidence of bussed in voters and even the fraudulent voter slips?
Tsvangirai and MDC's breath-taking incompetence has been one of the greatest betrayal of the people is our time! The consequences of their incompetence will reverberate for generations to come.
Tsvangirai is saying he will take his dossier of evidence of vote rigging to the AU and SADC. He should take the evidence to the whole world; what good will the AU or SADC do knowing what they already knew but have gone out of the way to pretend it never happened.
@ Saif
Nonsense, I am a black Zimbabwean and I believe Tsvangirai has proven beyond doubt that he is breathtakingly incompetent and therefore he must go. There millions of black Zimbabweans who think so too. So your sweeping statement "that all those calling for MRT to step down are whites?"
This is no different from Mugabe's nonsensical assertion that "It is only the West who want regime change in Zimbabwe!" How can the tyrant say that when he has never ever held free and fair elections so the people of Zimbabwe can have a meaning say in who rules the country. In 2008 he turned the nation into a war zone in which over 500 people were murdered to force the people to vote for him. This year the tyrant squandered over $3 billions orchestrating a military style operation to rig the vote.
You are no different from Mugabe; you refuse to listen to what the ordinary people are saying on the presumption that they are both stupid to see what is happening and even if they do, finally comprehend what is happening, they are too dumb to articulate remotely logical. They are stupid and dumb animals; not humans at all!
The people of Zimbabwe are not stupid and dumb and they are going to end this Mugabe tyrannical rule. And to do that they now know they must first reject blundering and incompetent leaders like Tsvangirai. You can consider the latter done, the people of Zimbabwe are not going to vote for Tsvangirai ever again; take it from me.
MDC can have Tsvangirai and all his deadwood "kitchen cabinet", just as Mugabe has returned his Zanu PF thugs; both parties are free to do as they please. As for whether the people of Zimbabwe will freely elect either party into office; that is another matter!
@ Vanhuvakuru
What way forward are you offering by accepting rigged elections and allowing Mugabe to rule regardless?
I am saying Mugabe rigged the elections and therefore must not be allowed to rule and ruin the country as he has already been doing these last 33 years. The way forward is that Mugabe step down, we implement the reforms and hold free and fair elections as soon as possible.
I am not discouraged by you dismissive attitude, not in the least. There have been wiser men and women throughout the ages, the lone voice crying in the wilderness, who have been ridiculed and abused worse than you can dish out. I am no wiser than these wise men's boot.
However, I do know that the way out of Zimbabwe's political and economic hell-hole is not more of the same Zanu PF mismanagement, corruption, looting and political repression which is exactly what Mugabe is offering. I know the way out is implementing the democratic reforms and end this absurdity that Mugabe and Zanu PF have the divine right to rule the country. The power and authority to govern must be derived from the people through free, fair and credible elections.
Mugabe has forced the nation to accept that the nation can have a corrupt and tyrannical dicta-torship and still have peace, justice and prosperity. We all know that it has not worked; so why are we being forced to follow a failed system. Zimbabwe is subject to the same laws of thermo-dynamics and the same laws of supply and demand as the rest of the world; we should stop de-luding ourselves and think we are not. No nation has ever prospered when there is so much mismanagement and corruption!
Zimbabwe has the potential to be a peaceful, just and prosperous nation but is being held back by a few individuals who think they have the divine right to rule when in fact they do not! That is the truth as I see it and will speak of it as long as a breath in my lungs.
@ Chimbwido
If Moses has done anything wrong then he should be brought before a court of law. If there is now a law in Zimbabwe that says "those who do not support the land resettlement programme can not be allowed to be parasites" (whatever that is supposed to mean). And Moses has broken that law then he must be brought before a court of law.
We are not going to tolerate you nincompoop taking the law into your own hands. You have your own cases of "kicking people in the teeth till they bled profusely" to answer. Those thugs will have to answer for the 30 cows and 50 goats they have eaten.
Like you these idiots think they are above the law; no one is above the law! But not to worry, you lot will learn this soon enough!
@ Ruwa
You should ask Mugabe that, after all you are the one who has cheered his vote rigging. Surely you lot must have thought about what you would do if the people of Zimbabwe rejected the illegal imposing of Mugabe as president!
If you did not consider that; well consider it now!
SADC got Mugabe off the illegitimate hook after the sham 2008 elections. He went on to treat them as if their are idiots. Everyone could see the next elections were not going to be free and fair, everyone that is except Tsvangirai. Of course the world was disappointed that Tsvangirai could be that incompetent and most people had resigned themselves to Mugabe winning another easy election because MDC was just too incompetent to challenge him on anything.
What the world did not expect was the blatant vote rigging by Mugabe. It was just too blatant and arrogant to be ignore. Well that got Mugabe back in the dog-house and this time SADC is not going to lift a finger to get him out.
Mugabe is illegitimate and therefore he is going nowhere. Trust me on this, Mugabe will be forced to resign!
@ Zinti
What is Zinti Mnkandla talking about; "government has neither the capacity nor the resources to provide people with food and needs these donors”? Mugabe has just squander over $ 3 billion in this military style no-expense spare vote rigging exercise! As an MDC parliamentary candidate in the rigged election, Zinti should know just how much Mugabe poured into this election.
Tsvangirai did not see the vote rigging until noon on the day of the elections although the evidence was stirring him in the face all along from the fact that not even one reform had been implemented to the fact that the number of polling stations shot up from 2 000 to 9 000 just two days before the elections. Even now with hindsight it seems MDC still do not have the foggiest idea what really happened.
Mugabe and his cronies have been pocketing billions of dollars from the sale of Marange diamonds and continues to do so to this day. Having the resources is one thing but using the wealth for the good of the nation is clearly another matter!
Zimbabwe desperately needs a competent voice to once again take on the cause of democratic reforms and thus end the Zanu PF political hegemony; the blundering voice of MDC is undermining the cause not advancing it!
@ James Bond
You have the wrong end of the stick, you idiot. We have the list of his looted wealth; Chombo can deny that it is not his or explain how he came to own all that loot at a time when the Zimbabwe economy shrunk by a world record 84% in six years 2002 to 2008, for example.
Chombo says he is a successful commercial farmer, he only has to say how many tonnes of maize or tobacco he produced and where he sold it!
Zimbabwe's agricultural production dropped like a stone ever since Mugabe instituted the land seizures. A country that had been the bread basket of the region could no longer feed it own people. Chombo is telling us a totally different story, of a successful farmer, and that is where he made his fortune.
If Chombo is a successful farmer as he claims then he will only be to happy to boast millions of tonnes he harvested and the thousands of cattle he sent to Cold Storage Commission for slaughter every week. No doubt the slaughter house will confirm the weekly cattle deliver from our successful farmer Chombo!
A number of senior Police Officers are under investigation for corruption. One of the Officers under investigation is Oliver Chibage, he is accused of trying to use his position to takeover a firm in Msasa and blocking the arrest of someone accused of theft.
Corruption is rampant in Zimbabwe and it goes all the way to the very top. Zimbabwe has just had a fraudulent election process in which there was vote rigging at a grand scale; that is a far more serious matter than protecting a car thief Chibage is accused of.
What role did Chibage play in the vote rigging, who gave him the orders, etc., etc.; that is what I would want to know.
People like Chibage are small fry and the regime is doing what it has always done - use some people to do its dirty work and when the stop being useful throw them away and in this case piss on them! Look what happened to people like Walter Kamba, the idiot Morgan Tsvangirai, etc.; Mugabe used them and then pissed on them. It is hard to feel sorry for all these idiots; after all it is us the ordinary people who paid dearly for their betrayal and sleeping with the tyrant!
After regime change, Chibage will still have to answer for his role in the blatant vote rigging! Augustine Chihuri and Mugabe himself will join him in the dock!
@ Musiyamwa
How naïve and stupid can you be! The Police has been involved in very serious corruption cases in Zimbabwe these last 33 years. I bet you Oliver can tell us some real interesting stories about how Mugabe rigged these last elections.
Mugabe is a ruthless tyrant and he cares for no one even those who have been doing his dirty work all these years but one of these days one of these abused and then discarded individuals are going to hit back and talk about the real serious corruption that has been going on in Zimbabwe.
@ Mavheti
False vote rigging evidence; You wish! The whole world saw the bussed in voters, it is a matter of public record that nearly a million voters were denied the right to vote, etc., etc. and you say all those things did not happen!
Mugabe is not going to get away with this treasonous act!
Last week Mugabe attended the graduation ceremony of his daughter Bona in Singapore. The cost of this one trip alone for Mugabe and his entourage – forget the billions of dollars paid in fees, accommodation, transport, etc. over the years for Bona and instead focus on this one trip alone – is a cool US$ 3 million! So the government could only manage to pay a misery $50 000 out of a budget of $ 380 million to run the whole country’s higher and tertiary institutions but could pay $3 million so Mugabe could witness his daughter’s graduation!
Former Education Minister, David Coltart; to describe what is happen here as “woeful” is itself woefully inadequate – this is criminal!
@ Grabmore
I hope so too but meanwhile they sure have turned Zimbabwe into a hell-on-the-earth for millions of ordinary Zimbabweans. The situation demands a redress right now, not in five years much less when they die because they are always others tyrants waiting in the wings to take over!
