Tsvangirai is right in
saying that the country is sinking fast under this Zanu PF regime. He is
hopelessly wrong to think that another GNU is the answer.
“Tsvangirai’s proposal
for another coalition government is rubbish and hogwash. They think they can
come back through the back door and start enjoying the benefits of being in Government.
That is not going to happen,” reply Rugare Gumbo, the Zanu PF spokesman.
Rugare Gumbo is right,
Tsvangirai is angling to get back on the gravy train “through the back door and
start enjoying the benefits of being in government”. He will never get Mugabe
and Zanu PF to implement any meaningful democratic reform – the pre-requisite
for the country getting out of this political and economic mess.
Tsvangirai failed to get
even one reform implemented during the GNU although he had the majority in parliament
and had the backing of SADC and the whole international community. What hope is
there he will do so now with Mugabe controlling parliament and SADC having washed
its hands on Zimbabwe!? None!
However Rugare Gumbo is
lying to say “Zanu PF managed to win majority in parliament, while President Mugabe
got over 51 percent vote”. Mugabe rigged the elections hence the call for the
implementation of meaningful democratic throughout the life of the GNU.
If Tsvangirai had implemented
the reforms then Mugabe would not have rigged the elections and the 2013
elections would have been free, fair and credible. The country would have a democratic
government responsive to the needs and aspirations of the people and not this corrupt
and self-servicing Zanu PF dictatorship.
Tsvangirai’s in not just
corrupt and greed but he is breathtakingly incompetent. Mugabe, on the other
hand, is just as corrupt and greed but he is ruthlessly brutal and as cunning
as a fox. The ease with which Mugabe bamboozled Tsvangirai is testimony to the
latter’s dim wit than the former’s cunningness; Mugabe was not even tested.
The full measure of Tsvangirai’s
dim wit is his belief that the nation can still prosper side by side with the Mugabe
and Zanu PF dictatorship which was why he never even attempted to implement any
meaningful democratic reforms which meant dismantling the dictatorship. The
coalition he is proposing now will, once again leave the Zanu PF dictatorship and
all the party stands for – mismanagement, corruption, lawlessness and brutal
political repression - untouched.
By rigging the election
Mugabe and Zanu PF forfeited legitimacy. A coalition with MDC will not restore
the regime’s legitimacy; not this time. Anyone who is anyone will see the
coalition as bring back the GNU by the back door knowing fully well it achieved
nothing and has even less chance of achieving anything second time round.
The way out for Zimbabwe
is for the nation to elect a new government through free, fair and credible
elections which will have the mandate of the people and the legitimacy to chart
the way out of this mess. A halfway house of internationally supervised interim
administration of a select group of Zimbabweans – all the main players in the
GNU are not to play an role in this, they had their chance and failed to
deliver anything – will be tasked to draft a democratic constitution and to supervise
the elections.

After years of Mugabe denying there was corruption now the chickens have come home to roost.
Corruption has become so rampant in Zimbabwe it is everywhere and wherever it is it has become dominant. Those who believe that Mugabe and Zanu PF can be cured of the corruption are naïve because the party is a dog with a very advance rabies - it is more rabies than dog - the longer you keep it the more it will spread the disease!
The cure here is to get rid of Mugabe and Zanu PF through free, fair and credible elections. Asking Mugabe to do something to end the corruption is tantamount to asking a rabies infected dog to cure itself! Mugabe does not view corruption as a problem no more than the rabies infected dog views rabies as a disease!

You have been denying that there was no corruption and now it has grown so big it is destroying the economy and you keep wittering about sanctions!
How can Mugabe be "chipo chaMwari"? The tyrant has forced millions into a life of abject poverty and has murdered over 30 000 others. Even if one was one of the few who have benefited from the corruption and looting one will have to be heartless not to see the heart breaking suffering all over Zimbabwe today.
As a people blacks are well known for their total indifference to the misery of their own fellow blacks. The indifference that made blacks hunt-down their fellow blacks and sell them as slaves to the white men for a piece of calico cloth and a handful of beads. It is same indifference that makes tyrants like Mugabe sell the nation's diamonds to the Chinese and Israelis for a song whilst 100 Zimbabwean children are dying every day of preventable disease because there is no money to buy the necessary medicines.
Thank God Mugabe’s ruinous reign is coming to an end; the regime’s own greed has been its own undoing. Corruption has completely destroyed the national economy; there is nothing left for Mugabe and his cronies to loot. It was corruption and looting that has held Zanu PF together over the years with nothing left to loot the party is falling apart.
