“We should discard factionalism and infighting
and work together as a united party fully behind our leadership. History has taught us that unity is the
cornerstone of success,” Minister of Energy Dzikamai Mavhaire tells us.
Poor, poor Mavhaire,
ever since the late Eddison Zvobgo died he has been totally lost, a shapeless
boat without a sail, an engine, a rudder and not even an oar. In these
turbulent times, the dish has been spinning, tossed hither and thither and poor
Mavhaire is, dazed and confused, is mumbling nonsense!
The one thing the late
Eddison Zvobgo was very vocal about was that there should be leadership renewal
in Zanu PF. He openly talked about leadership being a rally and how Mugabe picked
to run the first leg has since absconded and ran into the mountain with
the baton and would not pass it on to anyone else.
Of course Mugabe hated
Zvobgo for being a threat to his president - for - life plan! He saw to it that
Zvobgo was side-lined in favour of the dozy and mentally challenged Simon
Muzenda as the leader of Masvingo Province.
Dzikamai Mavhaire was
Zvobgo's right hand man then and he too was fired up for leadership renewal. He
had a sense of direction and purpose then; he was a man on a mission. The burning
passion went out like a candle in the wind the day Zvobgo died.
The only Zanu PF
faction in Masvingo that would have counted in a leadership contest was the
Zvobgo faction but only when he was alive. Of the two factions fighting to take
the baton from the errand Mugabe, now that they have caught up with him and he is
dog-tired to go any further, no faction has ever asked Mavhaire for his
support. They know he is a spend force.
Mavhaire is calling
for the party to be united behind Mugabe because he is a nobody with any of the
challengers and so for him a matter of sticking with the devil you know!
Dzikamai Mavhaire is a
man of little intellect and prone to get things back to front and inside out!
Let me put you right: history teaches us that a system - be it a political
party, a religion, whatever - that resist peaceful evolutionary change invites
upon itself violent revolutionary change. Change is nature; no one can
resist change.
By resisting slow,
small and orderly incremental evolutionary change all these last 34
years Mugabe and Zanu PF has forced upon this nation the certainty of sudden,
large and violent chaotic revolutionary change. The dog-eat-dog factional
fighting in Zanu PF and the national economy in total ruins; these are the
ominous signs of the killer storm that is set to break and overwhelm the
nation.
Of course it is
nonsense to resist evolutionary change in the name of unity. The kind of
nonsense Mugabe has been preaching all these years! The nation being called to unity
and remain united behind a corrupt and murderous tyrant who is in power only
because he has stifled democratic change and blatantly rigged national elections.
Yes it was the 34
years of following a madman in the name of unity that has brought Zimbabwe to
ruin. Rebuilding this shattered nation back to its 1980 glory and beyond is
going to be tough but the work cannot start whilst we still continue to pay
homage to this totally discredited falsehood of blindly following in the name
of unity.
