Mugabe continues with his merciless attack on
Information Minister Jonathan Moyo, calling him a weevil!
“Shamuyarira
had a people-oriented direction when he was minister of Information and not
these little ideas of how I can get so and so. Hatidi munhu anonzvengesa vanhu
sebhora (We do not want people who dribble others as in football). Kana wafunga
zvekunzvengesa (If you want to dribble), why don’t you go and join Highlanders
or Dynamos,” Mugabe said to an applauding Heroes’ Acre crowd.
It will
not be long before it finally dawns of the naïve and gullible crowd that Mugabe
has been dribbling the nation including his own Zanu PF members all along! The
tyrant has used a double strategy to keep his Zanu PF party members loyal to
him:
1)
Good old fashioned divide and rule. In Masvingo he had the
Zvobgo and Muzenda factions, for example, and deliberately promoted the intellectually
weak and feeble Muzenda to the position of vice president and kept Zvobgo in
the political wilderness of minister without-portfolio to their dying days.
Muzenda knew he was a buffoon and that it was only because of Mugabe’s
generosity that he held an position of power at all; he never ever aspired to
be president.
A very common Muzenda joke, he was always
the butt of the jokes, talked of someone telling him Mugabe had died and he
responded “Whom am I going to be the vice president of?”
Mugabe has done exactly the same with the
promotion of Mai Mujuru. Of course there were many other more competent men and
women he could and should have appointed vice president.
2)
Mugabe has used Zimbabwe’s
wealth and riches to oil his political patronage system. Even when it was
becoming increasingly obvious that the national economy was suffering greatly
because of the mismanagement and corruption cause by his political patronage
system. Instead of changing the system he devised all manner of devilish ways
of denying the people a say in the governance of the country making so that he remained
in power and continued to have unfettered access to the country’s wealth to oil
his patronage system.
Three
things are working against Mugabe to unravel his best laid plan of
life-president:
a)
After planning his dirty trick of divide and rule for 34 years
each Zanu PF faction is sick to the back teeth of the game
b)
34 years of gross mismanagement and rampant corruption has
destroyed the national economy; there is really not much left for the regime to
loot. Take away the money, well-paid jobs, the former white-owned farms, etc. -
the active ingredient in the superglue that has held Zanu PF together – then Mugabe’s
patronage is as ineffective as gluing two pieces of paper with water.
c)
Old age, like it or not Mugabe is growing old, and the various
factions in Zanu PF know any day now he will kick the bucket and they must be
prepared to seize the crown before he hits the floor. Seize the crown, never
mind him!
Mugabe the
last person who should be accusing Professor Jonathan Moyo plotting and
dribbling; he is the expert in that. With his one finger accusing at Jonathan
Moyo as “devil incarnate” the other three fingers are pointing at himself!
Mugabe
has always been a loner with a reputation of using others for his political
gain and then discarding them like used toilet paper; it is the surest way of
making sure one has no friends. Still it is now is the sun-set of his life when
all his past mischiefs are coming back to him like a swarm of locusts that he
must wish he had one friend, just one, he could trust!

As long as the ZimAsset remains mockingly empty and tormenting him Mugabe will be forced to go over and over again his misguided indigenisation policy. Whenever Mugabe, Chinamasa or any of the other Zanu PF leaders are speaking to anyone with money to contribute into the begging bowl they readily admit the policy was ill-advised, a “nonsense” according to Chinamasa. But the language changes when they are addressing the party die-hards.
“All we are saying is we have 100 percent ownership of all our resources. We should talk about 100 percent possession by Zimbabweans,” Mugabe wanted the party faithful to know.
“Our minds have been trained to accept mediocrity and now we are thinking that asking for 51 percent is much, but when it comes down to empowering the people of Zimbabwe, it is not even enough,” said Mugabe.
The tyrant has denied the people a meaningful say in the governance of the country; by blatantly rig-ging the 2013 elections he granted the people 0% say in who governed the country and what policies they implemented. And now he wants to maintain they lie that this indigenisation policy will give the people 100% ownership of the nation’s resources when the only people who will benefit as with all other similar policies is him and his cronies.
The economic meltdown will continue as long as the ZimAsset remains mockingly empty and it will remain mockingly empty as long as the donors and investors continue to shy away scarred away by the ill-advised indigenisation policy! Donors and investors have all the time in the world to wait for the regime to finally come to its sense on this policy the important question is, it is the regime’s dilly-dally has landed the nation in this mess already, how much more human misery does it expect the people to endure?
@ Tovaris
Well Jonathan Moyo will be thinking of going back crying for mercy as he did after the Tsholotsho debacle to remove Mugabe. Moyo ended up crying for mercy. This time the tyrant would want to strangle Moyo with his own bare hands if only he had the strength to do so.
Mugabe has always been a lone wolf because of his reputation of using others and discarding them like used toilet paper. Still Moyo must be sweating because he too is a loner with even less friends!
Yes Jonathan Moyo has been dribbling around far too much but it is nothing compared to what Mugabe himself has been doing. The corruption Moyo is accused of allowing to come out is what has destroyed the nation's economy. People like Cuthbert Dube, Obert Mpofu, Ignatius Chombo, Philip Chiyangwa who have stolen millions through corrupt practices are the real weevils. People like Mai Mujuru and you yourself Mugabe who have billions of dollars are the super-size weevils!
Mugabe can no longer get away with his all his corruption and then lies and cover-up. The state of the economy speaks volumes of the rot that has been going on these last 34 years. Enough is enough!
@Guest
The Mujuru faction would be foolish to trust Mugabe because he would use them and discard them like used toilet paper with the same contempt the tyrant is showing here!
Moyo and Mnangagwa are shrewd enough to know this was going to be a dirty fight and they have a plan B and C. Cannot say the same for the Mujuru; they never have a plan anything! They are like Tsvangirai, they just blunder along!

The story of Nikuv must be in the nation's history books so that Zimbabwe will remember what those Jews did to our nation for generations to come! The Israeli government was warned about Nikuv but they saw only the 30 pieces of silver and could not think of anything else.
The Politburo and President Robert Mugabe recently expressed concern at a highly educated Information Minister who was the exact opposite of the late ex-Information Minister, Nathan Shamuyarira ‘who did not work against interests of the party’.
Of course Shamuyarira did not; Zimbabwe's public media has always placed Zanu PF's selfish interests of staying in power at all cost above the national interest of promoting freedom of ex-pression and free media. How ironic that the same Politburo and Mugabe who declared Sha-muyarira "national hero" are publically admitting that he served the party's selfish interest to the detriment of the greater national good.
It is good that this corrupt and oppressive regime is on its last legs; the nation has a lot of important work cleaning up the mess and redefining its moral compass in places like The Herald House!
What Mugabe is doing is finishing the job Mai Mujuru raised in November last year at the Zanu PF Women’s conference when she the corruption stories were all lies by those bend on a regime change agenda. When she said that, she got a lot of stick from the Zimbabwe public who saw it as just yet another example of the party sweeping corruption under the carpet when they should be doing something to end the rot.
Well months later nothing was ever done to stop the rot for the simple reason that corruption has been so rampant that the likes of Cuthbert Dube and George Cha-ramba named in the PSMAS salary scandal are small fish in the scheme of things. There are people like Obert Mpofu, Ignatius Chombo and Philip Chiyangwa who have made millions from corruption. And then there are other like Mai Mujuru herself and the Mugabes whose fortunes are valued in billions of dollars. If the regime tried to punish people like Dube it was not going to be long before some of the big fish found themselves be dragged out of the muddy waters too! Of course Mugabe and Zanu PF could not take that risk.
Mai Mujuru’s mistake was to try to deny the story when it was still too fresh in the public eye and punishing the messenger at the time was no, no!
Now months later are the public have forgotten – their memory is measured in weeks at its very best - Mugabe is revisiting the scandals with vengeance. He wants the head of the Minister of Information in a silver platter and all the journalists who had anything to do with the scandal stories purged!
The nation is reliving the Willowvale Motor scandal and the aftermath was the “pro-motion” to look after the cleaners of the then Chronicle Editor, Mr Geoffrey Nyarota, who had allowed the scandal to be made public. History has the habit of repeating itself!
Unlike the Willowvale Motor scandal, there are numerous scandals this time and their effect on the national economy have been totally devastating; the national economy is in total meltdown. Punishing the messengers will not change the reality on the ground which is that the national economy is in total meltdown precisely be-cause nothing was ever done to end the cancer of corruption for years and now it has grown and spread to every public body and institution!
