Charamba says Minister slept on the jod and should pay for it - another Zanu PF fudge!

The humbled but up to now feisty George Charamba admit Ministers slept on the job and thus allowed the corruption to get out of hand.

“That’s dereliction of duty on the part of ministries. We slept on the job. That’s the bottom line. Whether we snoozed because we were sleepy or snoozed because we were ignorant, it makes no difference,” Charamba said.

I would not say the ministers slept on the job considering the like of Mai Mujuru has a US$ 3 billion fortune, Minister Obert Mpofu and Ignatius Chombo have fortunes worth hundreds of millions of dollars and the rest are filthy rich too although the nation is yet to know the size of their loot. They were very busy doing their own looting; indeed it was their looting that encouraged those below them to do the same.

George Charamba is doing what he has done all along, trying to hoodwink the people into believing that all the stories of looting that have come to light are all the looting that have ever taken place and the Ministers and all the other Zanu PF leaders and officials are guilty of let these cases of looting happen but otherwise they are all the very epitome of virtue!

“Zimbabweans are angry and have every reason to be angry. Take, for example, ZBC (Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation). That money which was supposed to have them entertained was being taken to sponsor large lives. Those involved, including myself, should be made to pay. I should relinquish my position. If I am not moved by my conscience, I should be moved by a higher authority,” concluded Charamba.

"If I am not moved by my conscience, I should be moved by a higher authority,” George Charamba tells. Well I have very serious problems with that!

1) If this looting was a one off one could say Charamba had a lapse of his conscience but this is not so is it? The corruption and looting has been going on for the last 34 years. Charamba has been looting at PSMAS, from the generous allowances during the many overseas trips with Mugabe costing typical US$ 3 million a trip, plus a host other opportunities we have yet to know.

Charamba has no more conscience that Jack the Ripper!

2) What "higher authority" is he referring to? Minister Jonathan Moyo? That political prostitute! As for his other boss Mugabe; the tyrant has been doing his own looting and worse still he has the blood of over 30 000 innocent Zimbabweans on his hands. Anyone guilt of such serious crimes and that evil has no conscience.

3) The only authority I would recognise here are the ordinary people of Zimbabwe who have paid dearly with money, human suffering and ultimately with their very lives for all the mismanagement, corruption and looting by Mugabe and his thugs.

Sadly the people's power and authority was repeatedly denied them by the regime by its failed to hold free and fair elections.

This is just a damage limiting exercise by Zanu PF. These named in the scandals will be publicly “punished” by Mugabe. They will all keep their loot, given a golden hand-shake and many of them will be back in power as happened with the likes of Jacob Mudeda. Meanwhile the mismanagement, corruption and looting will continue.

The only acceptable answered to these stories of corruption is that Mugabe and Zanu PF must resign after all they rigged the elections itself the most serious corruption story of our time. The people must have their political power and authority fully restored and, through their freely elected representative, they will decide what is the right punishment for Charamba, Mugabe, etc.   – it business as usual.

We need to end this political madness now and decisively and not have another fudge.

Mugabe and Zanu PF rigged the July 2013 elections they must not be allowed to get away with it. The regime is illegitimate and per se it has no authority to decide what should be done with looters like Charamba and Mugabe.
