Chinamasa says the Chinese are "considering" a ZimAsset bail out for Zimbabwe - how much longer will this take?!

Finance Minister, Patrick Chinamasa announced that the Chinese are "considering" a comprehensive financial aid to Zimbabwe to help fund the regime's $27 billion ZimAsset bail out.

“The $23.3 million grant we are signing today is one such assistance that has been availed to us,” said Chinamasa. “This grant will ensure that the newly resettled communities living on land acquired under the land reform programme have access to health facilities in their vicinity.”

So the regime has held its land resettlement as a great success all these last 14 years and yet it did not even have such basic requirements as clinics in these resettlements!

If the grants are channelled to building these health facilities then people will have somewhere to go now since all the other health facilities including big centres in the cities and towns have all but closed!

Schools and hospitals have stop providing any meaningful services, industries are closing down laying off hundreds of workers and pushing unemployment figures to nauseating heights, etc., etc. and these bloody Chinese are still "considering" giving Zimbabwe the bailout? F**** me! Considering, considering what and for how much longer?

Mugabe has been looking east with his "Look East" policies for decades now. He has strained his neck and is looking more like one of those Galapagos Island tortoise; waiting for the relief.

The reality is even if the Chinese were to finally cough up the $27 billions - they owe us half as much anywhere after all the dodgy deals Mugabe has signed with them - that will not get Zimbabwe out of this mess. We need to resolve the structural problems that has allowed mismanagement and corruption to run riot.

If the Chinese are foolish enough to throw billions of dollars to try and save a rotten regime from imploding they it is their affair but they must know that no future democratic government in Harare will repay a penny of whatever they dish out! This is gamble they will be making and they must know it is one they are bound to lose!

@ Black Aristocrat

Well for the sons and daughters whose parents have propped up the Mugabe regime all these years the life of luxury has just come to a sudden end.

Mugabe would not have pulled off the vote rigging without the help of this rump of Zanu PF loyalists who have been at the tyrant's beckon and call throughout the 34 years. The tyrant has them by allowing them to have such privileges as having their children send out of the country for their education at public expense whilst the rest of us suffered.

The sins of the fathers and mothers will be visited on to their sons and daughters and beyond - cannot think of anyone else more deserving of the punishment than these Zanu PF die-hards morons!

@ Keith

This is too big for Mugabe to sweep under the carpet. This is a game changer!

She is really not used to being held to account and so this is a real shock to her! After 34 years of absolute power she was really beginning to believe that all Zimbabwe are stupid. The ease with which Zanu PF out manoeuvred Tsvangirai and MDC after the 2008 elections when everyone thought Mugabe and Zanu PF were in trouble has done wonders for Zanu PF leaders, it gave them wings and they were sure they could fly!

So for Mai Mujuru to now hear that ordinary Zimbabweans are demanding to know about the corruption and looting that has been going on including how she got her $ 3 billion fortune must be a real shock for her. She thought this was the time she could exercise her wings and silence the public with the usual bull about the West pushing their regime change agenda. Well the public's outrage was loud and very clear and unmistakable - we are not stupid, it is us who are demanding answers and not the West!

So what answers she is going to give for her $ 3 billion loot. Of course she may choose to go the Maurice Nyagumbo way - no chance of ever being misquoted, that much was clear.

The EU knows Mugabe rigged the elections and they admitted it, be it reluctantly. Now they are being pushed by Belgium whose moral compass only works when in Belgium. When the Nazi dictator terrorized them, the sense of what is right and wrong was unquestionable. Now they will happily prop up Mugabe regardless of the suffering the tyrant has cause and will continue to inflict on the people of Zimbabwe.

All they want and care about is the country's diamonds. The Israelis and Chinese have being looting Zimbabwe and they too want a piece of the action.

The next democratic government in Harare will have to revisit the country's relationship with some of the countries who have been propping Mugabe so they can continue looting. It will be a matter of restorative justice and national pride! Enough of this nonsense of countries have turned a blind eye to the suffering of millions of our people and think they can continue to do business in Zimbabwe after the tyrant is gone.

Mugabe is going and there is absolutely nothing the Israelis, Chinese and now the Belgians can do to stop that!

@ King

Zanu PF created the falsehood that the nation had a simple choice Zanu PF and no one else. So if the choice was between Mnangagwa and Mai Mujuru it true that most Zimbabweans would have chosen her - the lesser of the two evils. But now people are really beginning to believe that they have a right to reject Zanu PF's dictate. That has given the people even more courage to question a lot more about the regime.

Mugabe and Zanu PF are finished the longer they try to hang on to power the louder, bolder and angrier the people are going be in their demands to see the back of Mugabe and the rest of the dictatorship. There is going o be a show down and the regime will be swept aside!
