Supporting the 2017 military coup by the ordinary Zimbabweans was a big mistake. Hundreds to thousands of ordinary Zimbabweans came out into the street to show their support of the 2017 military coup. Here are some of the reasons why they did:
- 1) After 37 years stuck with Mugabe, povo were grateful the coup had finally forced the dictator to go. It was very foolish to thank Mnangagwa and his coup plotters for staging the coup when they were the dictator’s henchmen and women who had rigged elections and even committed the many politically motivated murders create and impose the de facto one party state and kept Mugabe in power all the 37 years. These people were so focused on “Mugabe must go!”, little else mattered.
- 2) The coup plotters needed the public to show their approval of the coup to have political legitimacy and so the offered the opposition leaders a new GNU arrangement post the coup. Morgan Tsvangirai was so enthroned by the prospect of occupying the gravy train seats of the 2008 to 2013 GNU he even discharged himself from his SA hospital bed. The opposition played a part in mobilising the public to support the coup. When Zanu PF thugs reneged on the new GNU, Tsvangirai died a few weeks later “of a broken heart”,according to Chamisa.
- 3) Mnangagwa promised the masses that his regime would hold free, fair and credible elections. He did not implement even one token democratic reform. Indeed he carried on implementing some of the Zanu PF vote rigging activities such as bribing the traditional village heads and chiefs with motorcycles and twin-cab trucks.
So what changes did the 2017 military coup bring? Other than the obvious change of Mugabe and a few of his close associates being booted out of the party and, in some cases out of the country; nothing changed. Zimbabwe has remained a pariah state ruled by corrupt, incompetent and murderous thugs who have rigged elections to stay in power.
The 2017 Zanu PF factional war pitted the Lacoste faction which had the backing of most of the Army top brass against the G40 faction which had the backing of most top brass in the Police and CIO. When push came to shove, the Army prevailed.
When the people were invited to show their support for the Lacoste faction they should have stubbornly refused to be drawn into making a meaningless choice. As we now know the coup was nothing but a musical chair’s game swapping one dictator for another. This was as much a false choice as a mouse choosing a cobra of a black mamba when both are deadly.
The real choice for the mouse would be to make good its escape whilst the two snakes seized up each other. The rational choice of the ordinary Zimbabweans in 2017 was to demand the end of the Zanu PF dictatorship and not just swapping one dictator for another.
If the present Zanu PF factional war should have a similar outcome, regardless whether it is Mnangagwa of Chiwenga side that prevails, the people must refused to side with the winner and give it political legitimacy.
The people must express they frustration with these Zanu PF factional war as the only way to accomplish some political change. They must demand the implementation of all the democratic reforms to guarantee free, fair and credible elections.

SAD💔 | ZRP Officer, Claude Jele, vaishanda kuGweru vazviuraya after vamwa poison. He wrote a letter before drinking poison.
In the letter, he wrote:
Having survived all these 38 years, i have reached a point where i feel like its all the same being on this earth or leaving. So plz do not accuse anyone or anything its my personal decision to end my life this way.”
Well he was honest enough to admit vision 2030 is a mirage! Alas! he was foolish enough to fail to see that Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown was a man-made problem much less to name the culprits!

Geza and company are fighting for ministerial limo, body guards and the exclusive right to the country's choicest fruit! Zanu PF has always paid lip-service to freedom, liberty and justice for all; they would rather burn down the whole country than let anyone else rule.
The 2017 military coup promised to restore the freedoms and rights of all the citizens - that was a lie. The Geza revolution is promising the same - that too is a lie. The 2017 coup swapped one dictator for another and the Geza revolution seeks to do the same. What Zimbabwe needs is to end the dictatorship and we must stand firm on that demand.
@ Team Mukanya
Stop talking nonsense. Geza is complaining because he thinks it is is his turn to loot! How does that help the nation. Was it not Geza and his fellow war veterans who imposed Mnangagwa in 2017 and Mugabe before him?
Geza is fighting to replace Mnangagwa with Chiwenga we the people should be fighting to end the dictatorship. When will you ever learn!!!!!
@ Team Mkanya
Did Geza and Company not the ones who imposed Mnangagwa and Chiwenga - the man whose face is on the cap you are wearing? Are Mnangagwa, Chiwenga, Geza, etc. themselves not the ones who imposed Mugabe on the nation for 37 years.
You are not for ED2030, we hear you. But you are for Chiwenga. You are for replacing one dictator for another as happened in 2017. You are talking about the people's suffering just to entice them to support you cause - to wrestle power from Mnangagwa. Enough of this bulls****t of using the people as the stalking horse in your petty power games!
We want to end the dictatorship and not merely swapping one dictator for another.
@ The Miz
"How do you intend to stop the dictatorship, elections are are worst of time they are used to legitimize zanu pf rigging."
First thing first, we will not be helping our cause - fighting to end the Zanu PF dictatorship - by siding with one Zanu PF faction giving it legitimacy when we know it is committed to keeping the dictatorship at all costs.
https://x.com/i/broadcasts/1LyxBWzZjBaKN
Where to next the Geza revolution? Nobody knows, we are just blundering from pillar to post.
Geza and company are taking advantage of the ordinary people's suffering to promise them the solution to all their problems and mobilise them to support the revolution. The truth is the revolution seeks to replace Mnangagwa with Chiwenga - one dictator with another. Of course, that will change nothing as we know from 2017.
The people must be clear what they want to dismantle the dictatorship itself and not just swapping dictators!

Zimbabwe is a fail state and the root cause - the country has been stuck with this corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship which has rigged elections to stay in power for 45 years.
The nation's hopes to ending this nightmare will hinge on whether we are smart enough to avoid the foolishness 2017 - swapping one dictator for another and taking their eyes off the important task of ending the dictatorship!
In a series of often expletive-laden press conferences, gritty-voiced and with a furrowed forehead, he repeatedly called on the 82-year-old president to go or face being removed.
"I must apologise for helping him come into office," said Geza in one press conference aired on social media about the president, who goes by the nickname "The Crocodile".
"As soon as he [Mnangagwa] had the taste of power, he escalated corruption, forgot the people and only remembered his family," said the outspoken war veteran, who was then a member of Zanu-PF's powerful central committee.
"Mnangagwa has also surrendered state power to his wife and children. We sadly see history repeating itself. We can't allow that to happen."
Zanu-PF was outraged by his "disloyal" remarks - later described as "amounting to treason" - forcing Bombshell into hiding from where, through his representatives, he continues to make taunts via social media, hinting at protests.
He is wanted by the police on four charges, including vehicle theft, undermining the authority of the president and inciting public violence.
In a pastoral letter last week, Zimbabwe's Catholic Bishops Conference warned that the 2030 debate was a distraction from the things that truly mattered - business closures, high unemployment, rampant corruption and economic policies that favour the wealthy at the expense of ordinary Zimbabweans.
Presidential spokesman George Charamba expressed his disappointment about the clerics' pronouncement, telling the state-run Herald newspaper the matter was now "dead and buried"
However, there is little chance of an early vote.
For now, Bombshell remains in hiding and the elections are years away - but the succession debate will keep cooking.
There are two things one can say about “Bombshell” Geza’s expletive-laden outburst:
1) they were very explicit
2) he spoke the obvious truth, of course vision 2030 was a mirage and per se “bulls***t”, that every one could see but did not dare say
3) the nation has been sleep-walking into the abyss and the outburst forced the nation to bolt-up right in horror.
It was for these reasons that the outburst has echoed and reverberated so readily in the hearts and minds of many Zimbabweans.
It is true that many Zimbabweans are wary of been roped into supporting the Geza faction only to see a repeat of the 2017 coup where one dictator was replace with another and nothing changed. Still the nation remains wary of the danger Mnangagwa’s continued stay in power even to 2028 much worse beyond that poses to the nation.
If the truth be said, the MDC/CCC are the root cause we are in this hell-hole. MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement the democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging elections even when they had the golden opportunity to do so during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. And ever since the GNU debacle they have participated in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed. They have lied to their brain dead followers that the opposition will win RIGGED elections to con them to participate.
Change has always been within the nation’s reach; we only had to stop participating in flawed elections and thus force Zanu PF to accept the need for implementing reforms. By participating in these flawed elections in our millions again and again to give legitimacy to the vote rigging Zanu PF we have become out own worst enemy.
Both SADC and AU election observers have condemned Zimbabwe’s 2023 elections as flawed and illegal. They would have denied Zanu PF legitimacy if CCC had no participated and went on to take up the few gravy train seats even after SADC and AU damning reports and if Zimbabweans had not participated in their millions.
Now we have SADC and AU damning reports of the 2023 elections, there will be no excuse for anyone in opposition camp much less the ordinary Zimbabwean for participating in yet another flawed and illegal 2028 elections or referendum. None!
https://bulawayo24.com/index-id-news-sc-national-byo-251176.html
Zimbabwe is in this political and economic mess not only because of Zanu PF but also because MDC/CCC leaders have connived to keep the regime in power out of greed and we, the people, have played our part out of stupidity. Of course, it is foolish to keep participating in flawed elections to give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate one's own suffering.
The danger of people being conned to participate in flawed 2028 elections is real. The challenge is to stop this insanity!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cYK3MF_P_w
Chamisa supporters are rebranding "Bombshell" Geza revolution as the endorsement of Chamisa is mischievous and dangerous. The support of the Geza revolution is support of swapping Mnangagwa for Chiwenga and since, that will bring back many of the G40 leaders, tantamount to saying yes to Mugabe coming back. "Ndodzoka here?"
Of course, it will be insane to repeat the foolish mistake of 2017 coup that swapped one dictator for another and delivered no meaningful change.
The key to meaningful change in Zimbabwe is to stop participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy more so now that we have SADC and AU on board on that!
@ Change Radio
The one saving grace from Change Radio is we are now being spared the “Change champion in chief, Nelson Chamisa” this and that nonsense! The idiots could never name even one change Chamisa brought in all the decades of MDC/CCC on the political stage. It was all the usual personality cult mentality!
Her is a radio station that has been dedicated to brainwashing the people of Zimbabwe second only to ZBC!
https://x.com/i/broadcasts/1RDGlzDYXDMxL
Burkina Faso' military coup delivered a visionary leader and our 2017 military coup removed one dictator only to replace him with another dictator. The nation's economic decline under Mugabe continued. Nothing change!
Once upon a time, Zimbabwe produced not only enough to feed her own people but had plenty left over to be the bread basket of the region. This all changed following the seizure of the white owned farms to give to the Zanu PF ruling elite and their cronies mostly.
Zimbabwe can increase food production 100 fold by the simple act of giving the millions in the rural areas title deeds to the football pitch size land on which their mud huts stand. Zanu PF has stubbornly refused to give the rural people title deeds for fear the party will lose its tyrannical control over an economically empowered peasant! How sickening is that! Why the nation has tolerated such outrageous political impudence speaks volumes of political immaturity and why we are a failed state.

The 31 March protest will NOT be a peaceful one but a violent uprising, Nyoka Yamadhunu has warned. The protesters themselves are threaten the public and, no doubt, the regime will response by deploying the Riot Police, armed soldiers, etc. - if the regime still has control over them. What matters here is this a Zanu PF factional war whose outcome will not change the ordinary people's lives, as we can now testify following the 2017 coup.
So Zimbabweans must stay out of this factional war. When two hyenas are fighting the goat has no business taking sides especially when either hyena will love to feast on the goat. Giving the 2017 coup legitimacy was very foolish and we must not repeat that mistake ever again.
@ Chivara
"These guys never won an election before and it is plain to everyone. The gauntlet will remain the same, they will always eschew reforms to entrench their hegemony. Partaking in flawed elections or not makes no difference because they will always declare themselves winners. The question remains the same, how best can we put an end to all this draconian rule without a washout?.."
Stop participating in flawed elections especially now when the referees, SADC and AU, condemned the 2023 elections as flawed and illegal.
@ Shava Sam
You are the one on the ground, you should be even more concerned about the buffoon running the country! But then I will be the first to admit it takes all sorts and hence the reason why Zimbabwe is text book failed state of the world!
If even Geza himself was to come out now and endorse the 31 March 2025 protest, I would still say people must ignore the call because the end result will be to replace Mnangagwa with Chiwenga. A repeat of the folly of the 2017 coup is not worth the candle, even if the protest was going to be peaceful.
@ Boss Pamz:
“So are you saying people should just sit and watch what's happening to the country without taking any action 🤷🏽♂️
As it stands I think what the masses want is for ED and his corrupt family to go who replaces him thats a story for another day as long as ED goes thats what matter this point in time.”
When Zimbabweans came out in the hundreds of thousands to support the 2017 military coup they were warned that they will also be supporting whatever the coup plotters would propose as the way forward - i.e. replace Mugabe with Mnangagwa. Geza and company have made it clear supporting the Geza revolution means supporting the solution that Chiwenga will be the next president. If you think this is not a package deal then you are naive, to say the least!
Zimbabwe made the stupid mistake of supporting the 2017 coup only to have one dictator replace with another; it would be insane to repeat the same mistake. (Not that I would put it beyond this nation; we have village idiots in Zimbabwe, millions of them, hence the reason we are a failed state!)
https://x.com/i/broadcasts/1mnGegDVoyrxX
YES THE NATION GOT ITS WISH OF "MUGABE MUST GO!" IN THE 2017 MILITARY COUP BUT AT THE PRICE OF GIVING LEGITIMACY TO THE MNANGAGWA DICTATORSHIP. THE NATION WAS WARNED THIS WOULD HAPPEN AND, AS WE CAN SEE, IT HAPPENED.
WER HAVE A CHOICE: 1) SUPPORT GEZA REVOLUTION AND WILL STOP ED2030 BANDWAGON BUT AT THE PRICE OF GIVING THE CHIWENGA DICTATORSHIP LEGITIMACY. 2) IGNORE GEZA SIGNAL AND RISK MNANGAGWA STAYING ON AND DEFEAT HIM IN THE REFERENDUM OR 2028 ELECTIONS. DEFEAT THAT WILL FORCE SADC AND AU TO DENY HIM POLITICAL LEGITIMACY.
IT IS HIGH TIME REASON PREVAILED IN OUR POLITICAL DISCOURSE!
@ TAKURA
THE PRESENT POLITICAL SYSTEM WILL NEVER PRODUCE QUALITY LEADERS JUST AS YOU WILL NEVER CATCH QUALITY FISH IN A SEWAGE POND!
https://www.facebook.com/4415858595176450/videos/1342894823527462
There is a lot more to the ED2030 bandwagon than the Blessed Geza expletive-laden outburst, truthful as it is. One of the most notable things is that the Zanu PF infighting is endless - the party leaders are obsessed about power and that is all they care about.
As much as many ordinary Zimbabweans had supported the 2017 military coup in the belief it would deliver the democratic changes the nation was dying for, the coup has failed to deliver not even one token change. Why? Because the coup was about power and not about democracy. It would be unforgivable if the people should support this Geza revolution only to repeat the 2017 coup mistake.
@ Ali
“Geza offered a solution and you are saying it's not good enough, you also say the current regime is not good enough, so what is the best way forward in your opinion?”
Are you saying it is not possible that what both Geza and the current regime are offering as the way can be wrong? In this case I am say they are both wrong because they are offering the same thing - the de facto one-party dictatorship. Whether it is Mnangagwa, Chiwenga or someone else who is the top dog, it is not important, the result is the same - bad governance.
The real surprise here is that anyone should even be arguing about this given the evidence the 2017 coup has failed to produce any meaningful change! But this should not be a big surprise given we are talking of a country that has failed to hold free and fair elections in 45 years and counting. A nation that has participated in flawed elections expecting a different result - opposition to win RIGGED elections.
@ Michelle Mystique
“The problem is that you guys moda kumhanyisa ma protests without a plan as to what you want to do differently. You can mobilize and stage a successful shutdown, but the most important part will always be what happens after those protests.
Thats why I have no interest coordinating any protest right now. Because that is something that can be arranged in a week if we are serious about mobilizing people.
The most difficult part is the one we have gathered here for that everyone keeps running away from and avoiding.
No matter how many debates people have on here, the question that will still remain is, what is our plan to rebuild the country and who is going to implement it on our behalf.
I cannot beat people with a stick to make them cooperate and stick to the agenda. If people want to keep going back and forth with each other about the same issues over and over I cannot stop them. All I can do is simply wait for them to decide they are now serious about moving forward.’
I totally agree with you, there are people who just want to join the Geza bandwagon. Geza is fighting for Chiwenga to take over from Mnangagwa just as the 2017 coup fought for Mnangagwa to take over from Mugabe.
Of course, Mnangagwa did not bring about even one token democratic reform because the coup was about who was to be the Zanu PF top dog and not reforming the dictatorship. How anyone would want to repeat the 2017 coup debacle only goes to show their lack of common sense!
But then we know this is a nation that has participated in flawed elections for 45 years expecting the opposition to win RIGGED elections. It has not happened and the brain-dead electorate has not given up!
@ The Miz
“Problem there isn't another alternative, the simplest truth is the opposition is incapable of dislodging Zanu pf from power , so ,let's not mistake Bob for Ed ,or Chiwenga to Ed, their qualities and leadership styles are different, so even if change is within Zanu pf, let's push for it, change even within Zanu pf to some extent weakens it , we have to agree that only Zanu pf can stop the 2030 nonsense, not the opposition, so not fighting for change within Zanu pf means supporting the 2030 agenda.”
Where is there no alternative?
@ Michelle Mystique
“We are not necessarily in support of a coup. But we are aware that we are out-organized and over-powered by the military.
What we are looking to do is to prepare for that eventuality by putting together a competent team of people who will represent opposition interests in the proposed transitional government.
You really keep dancing around this issue and bringing it up over and over again. Everyone is aware that ZANU-PF is planning a coup to advance their interests. It's up to you if you want to keep screaming from the sidelines instead of becoming part of the action.”
Would coming out into the street in our hundreds of thousands in support of the Geza revolution, as happened in 2017 coup, constitute “becoming part of the action and not screaming from the sidelines”?
True! I too have a great deal of respect of Steve Biko. What one cannot ignore is how millions of Zimbabweans have elevated a corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless leader like Mnangagwa or Chamisa to demigod status! It is sickening!
@ Miz
“True , they have made themselves the only choices , forcing down anyone who has a differing approach, whilst only doing things that only benefit only themselves and close allies and no one else, so far they are not doing anything that benefits the people.”
The more reason the people should hate these leaders, so why is it the opposite?
@ Eve Mevitiro
Are you denying that Zanu PF rigged the 2023 elections? If Mnangagwa was doing so well why did he have to rig elections to stay in power. Vision 2030 is a mirage and saying it is not a crime.
So why are you threatening all those who have dared to speak the truth just because you are either one of the ruling elite or one of the brainwashed who believe leaders are demigods who must worshipped?
Man is a creature of reason but not man are rational beings. Zimbabwe has had the great misfortune that political power has been in the hands of corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless buffoons like Mnangagwa and their equally corrupt and useless side kicks like Chamisa and between them they has brainwashed millions of Zimbabweans into believing leaders are demigods.
We have nincompoops wittering nonsense about development when the country is sinking deeper and deeper into the abyss. And village idiots who have been conned again and again to participate in flawed elections to give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy because they believed the idiotic lie the opposition will win RIGGED elections.
No wonder Zimbabwe is a failed state, we have more than our fair share brain-dead citizens. Millions of them!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSZRgSCuK80
In three days Zimbabwe will be marking 45 years after independence with its status confirmed as the world's text book failed state. We have all but failed to hold free, fair and credible elections in 45 years and in this day and age!
The true heroes and heroines of our 1st and 2nd Chimurenga must be turning in their graves to see what Zimbabwe has become! We have not only failed to hold free and fair elections, we do not even know what constitute free, fair and credible elections. We have buffoons like Mnangagwa insisting 2023 elections were free and fair and would not listen to what SADC and AU, our own fellow Africans have to say. We must all hang our heads in shame!
So when will Zimbabwe finally hold its first ever free, fair and credible elections?
The right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country is more than just a right, it is the essence of good governance. So when will we finally have the common sense to fight for good governance for ourselves and posterity and allow the nation's true heroes and heroines to finally rest in peace!
You are right! I do apologise for making such unforgivable mistake. I cannot even imagine anyone making a more serious mistake; forget the vote rigging, the looting of the nation’s resources, all the tens of thousands murdered by the regime, etc.
No wonder we are failed state! Zimbabwe is a failed state and drifting deeper and deeper into the abyss and all you notice is the trivial matter of independence day being 18 April and not 18 March. Fcuk me!
The Zimbabwe Liberation War Victims Association (ZLWVA) has extended their heartfelt gratitude to Vice President who was honoured by Chitepo School of Ideology recently.
In a statement by ZLWVA spokesperson Collins Chapasuka Kasiya said Chiwenga's commitment to our nation is key.
"To our esteemed compatriots and the heroes of our liberation struggle,
We, the Zimbabwe Liberation War Victims Association, extend our heartfelt gratitude and admiration for Vice President Constantino Chiwenga upon his well-deserved honor bestowed by the Chitepo School of Ideology. This recognition is not merely a celebration of his past achievements but a testament to his unwavering dedication to the values of our revolution and the betterment of our beloved Zimbabwe.
In the words of the ancient Chinese strategist Sun Tzu, "To win without fighting is the apex of excellence." Vice President Chiwenga exemplifies this principle through his seasoned leadership, fostering strength through diplomacy and constructive engagement rather than conflict. As a veteran leader and army general, he has navigated the complex terrain of both military and political struggles, architecting a path that upholds the dignity of our people while steering us towards developmental progress.
Chiwenga's commitment to our nation is reminiscent of the Stoic philosopher Seneca, who posited, "A great mind is a great gift." His profound understanding of national unity and healing post-independence reflects this wisdom. Chiwenga’s character radiates resilience and depth—qualities essential in a leader tasked with unifying a diverse populace towards a common goal.”
Zimbabweans have become masters at seeing what some one else want them to see instead of seeing what is before their own eyes.
Chiwenga is just another Zanu PF buffoon who was brain washed by Mugabe to believe that the liberation war was to remove the white colonial oppressor with the Zanu PF oppressors. He has played his part in creating and retaining the de facto one-party - Zanu PF - dictatorship and has claimed his lion’s share of the spoils.
When his share of the spoils of power was threatened in the 2017 Zanu PF factional war he did not hesitate to stage a military coup to safe guard his selfish interests. He was rewarded with theVP post. Right now the nation is deeply embroiled in yet another Zanu PF factional war pitting Chiwenga and Mnangagwa ignoring corruption, growing poverty, collapsed basic services, etc.; the issues affecting the nation.
Zimbabwe is a failed state because the nation has been stuck with this Zanu PF dictatorship for 45 years, for Pete’s sake. And Chiwenga, as with all the other Zanu PF buffoons, is a integral part of the dictatorship and therefore an integral part of the problem. How anyone can still praise him for “his unwavering dedication to the values of our revolution and the betterment of our beloved Zimbabwe”, with all the mount of evidence of who the real Chiwenga is; only goes to show just how shallow, thick and slow some people are!
No wonder we are a failed nation. We really have some stupid people are they are millions of them!
“Houston! We have a problem!” We ARE a nation whose brains have all but ossified into fat after generation of sloth-like slumber!
https://bulawayo24.com/index-id-news-sc-national-byo-251273.html
Zimbabwe Liberation War Victims Association (ZLWVA) praise Chiwenga for "his unwavering dedication to the values of our revolution and the betterment of our beloved Zimbabwe." What!
Chiwenga is a typical Zanu PF thug, an integral part of the Zanu PF dictatorship and thus an integral part of the problem. How anyone can be so shallow, thick and slow not to see that beggars belief!
@ UZA
“Part of what we want to achieve through the UZA Community Halls is to amplify the voices of the citizens because they are often silenced. One of the main messages that we heard from the electorate is that no one wants the 2030 agenda to prosper. This is, yet again, an example of @ZANUPF_Official's internal struggles. Our position is clear, UZA won't get involved in this fight. #AsWeBuildZimbabwe.”
This is one wise move by UZA. It is a pity the common sense did not prevail and UZA participated in the flawed and illegal 2023 elections only to give Zanu PF legitimacy.
@ Fadzayi Mahere
The battle to succeed President
@edmnangagwa
that has seen the emergence of two distinct factions in Zanu PF has taken a nasty turn following a shocking tirade by the ruling party’s spokesperson Chris Mutsvangwa against VP Constantino Chiwenga.”
Here we go! Fadzayi Mahere is doing what she and her fellow MDC/CCC leaders love doing: reminding us how miserable we are under this Zanu PF dictatorship. And yet when push came to shove they have all done nothing to end the dictatorship and the nation’s suffering.
Indeed, MDC/CCC leader have not openly failed to implement even one token reform even when they had the golden opportunity to do so but worst of all they have participated in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed.
Advocate Mahere was one of the CCC leaders who participated in the 2023 elections and went on to take up her seat even after SADC and AU condemned the election process as flawed and illegal. She failed to hold on to her gravy train seat only because she fell out with Sengezo Tshabangu!
MDC leaders supported the 2017 military coup even thou it was clear it was to replace one dictator for another. Still they supported it for the same reason they have been participating in flawed elections - greed.
We cannot complain of Zanu PF rigging elections and yet are the one giving the regime legitimacy because of of greed. Mahere is already campaigning for the next elections and, no doubt, will participate come hail come thunder, to give Zanu PF legitimacy and does not give a damn about the tragic consequences of giving Zanu PF legitimacy!
Mahere and company will support the Geza revolution is they are offered any inducements as happened in 2017. Zimbabweans should stop being conned again and again by both Zanu PF and opposition politicians alike.
@ Liberty
I did not participate in the flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy which is better than those who did participate knowing doing so would give Zanu PF legitimacy but did so regardless out of greed! What is more, I am holding the sell out to account - much to the chagrin of village idiots like you who consider people like Chamisa untouchable demigods.
Chamisa is a mere mortal and a corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless one at that. He is not a demigod and he is accountable - that is not negotiable.
@ Mutusva
Who will hold the corrupt, incompetent and useless leaders to account? You? So why are you not doing so now?
@ Attack
Only an idiot would sat that! So it is ok for MDC/CCC leaders to sell out because there are 20 other parties who will do the same thing if they did not!
Of course, your stupidity explains why Zimbabwe is a failed state - we really have some stupid people out there are millions of them!
@ Miz
He will come back con the same village idiots with the same idiotic lie that he will win RIGGED elections and the idiots believe him! Our problem is not just Chamisa but the brain-dead followers. Some of them are here stoically defending him because they believe he is a demigod. How any one can be that shallow, thick and slow beggars belief!
@ Attack
I am hold Chamisa to account and whilst there I am showing you what an idiot you are for being so easily conned again and again and again. You are angry with me because there is only so much even an idiot like you can deny.
@ The Miz
Telling idiots like Attack that participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy because he believed Chamisa’s idiotic lies IS solving the problem. Deny Zanu PF legitimacy and the party will be forced to hold free and fair elections!
@ Attack
So just because you are in Zimbabwe you are wiser than King Solomon and as courageous as a lion. Good for you! So you think be conned to believe Chamisa’s idiotic lie that CCC would win RIIGED elections proves you are wise? On the contrary, it proves that there are village idiots who are still in Zimbabwe just as there are village idiots who are outside Zimbabwe. You being in Zimbabwe proves nothing!
@ Eve Viriri
Do you know why we have rules and laws? If the rules are blatantly broken. ZEC failed to produce even something as basic as a verified voters’ roll.
They failed to implement even one reform even when they had the golden opportunity to do so during the GNU. Of course, Chamisa and company knew that Zanu PF was rigging the elections and that participating would give Zanu PF legitimacy and have participated regardless out of greed.
“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.
The real surprise here is that millions of Zimbabweans have been conned by Chamisa and company into participating in flawed elections, again and again, on the basis of idiotic lies that the opposition would win RIGGED elections. Both SADC and AU election observers dismissed the 2023 Zimbabwe elections as flawed and illegal. Why Zimbabweans themselves have failed to see this even after 45 years of Zanu PF rigging elections, beggars belief!
“Tell us the advantage of not voting. Tell us your reason for not voting?” What is the advantage of the insanity of participating in an election process “so flaw, so illegal, that the only logical step is to withdraw”? If you cannot see that in 45 years of rigged elections, you are as blind as a mole!

In 1980 Zanu PF made it clear that if the party did not win that election the bush war would continue. The threat should have set alarm bells ringing; the nation voted to end the war but in doing so the ordinary Zimbabwean also lost their right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country. Over the years Zanu PF has eroded the people's freedoms and rights leaving the nation at the mercy of the regime.
Mnangagwa rigged the 2023 elections and now the tyrant is hell bent of taking away the people's remaining vote power to extend his stay in power beyond 2030. He must be stopped!
@ Miz
MDC leaders were voted into power on the promise they would deliver the democratic changes to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections the nation was dying for. But when the voters have no clue what these reforms are much less how they are implemented it is ease to see why MDC/CCC leaders have forgotten about reforms.
@ Invincible
Were 2023 elections free, fair and credible? If the answer is no the elections were not free and fair; then the reforms you need are those to ensure elections are free and fair.
Here is where you can find the EU 2018 election final report giving you a list of reforms they thought necessary.

“I wonder still if I could have said it better than this! (Wilbert Mukori's last article on BYO 24) Zimbabwean GenZs are a problem, not a solution. They will muddle with water instead of coming up with practical political solutions: Political astuteness is abjectly absent in meaning and actions. It could be exactly that, that is the problem about Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is full of politicians: It is full of prophets, many pastors, fewer Christian followers. (Too many chiefs, and few Indians) Just shouting "Jesus is the saviour", most Zimbabwean Christians will instantly stand still, electrified, could kneel and start praying "in tongues", will even start crying, how emotionally moved they could be. Christian religion is deeply imbedded in our African societies right across the continent: how African nations have been brain-washed to the point of losing their senses. Coloniality was completed centuries ago when Africans embraced Christianity. Colonialists realized the weaknesses in African cultures. "Give them a different religion from theirs, colonize the soul irrevocably". The colonialists succeeded! Just saying!”
It is very disappointing indeed that people like Blessed Geza should speak passionately about meaningful change and yet they are the one who would like to impose VP Chiwenga. They have no clue we are in this mess precisely because he and his fellow war veterans have imposed leaders on the nation.
The real change the nation has been dying for all these years is that all Zimbabweans must have a meaningful vote. If Geza and company are serious about change then they must accept the next elections must be free, fair and credible.
Asking Geza to give up his war veteran veto is comparable to the rich man who was told by Jesus that if he wanted to enter the Kingdom of God he should sell all his wealth. Swapping Mnangagwa for Chiwenga is a waste of time and a luxury Zimbabwe cannot afford.
