(Namibia President) "Pohamba Snub Tsvangirai"; PM's coup de grace!

(Namibia President) “Pohamba snub Tsvangirai”; headline in Namibia Newspaper.

Namibia’s Confidente newspaper reported on Thursday that Pohamba and Prime Minister Hage Geingob “showed no interest in meeting with Tsvangirai” who is believed to have stayed away.

Namibia was one of PM Tsvangirai’s planned SADC stops to rally SADC to pressure Mugabe to implement reforms.

Some people simply do not know when to fight and when not to fight; this was a lost cause for MDC from the start. The party has had five years to get the reforms implemented and it did not. PM Tsvangirai spent most of that time glob trotting and chasing women.

Time does not wait for any man, especial a flawed and indecisive man.

Rejecting the Copac constitution was MDC last chance to force Mugabe to implement the reforms. It was Tsvangirai himself who spearheaded the yes vote campaign against advice from everyone including SADC leaders like President Khami of Botswana. After the Copac constitution sailed through with a 95% yes vote, it then dawned on MDC that the reforms are vital but, of course, it was too late.

To take up the fight when time and everything else was against them was foolish, but clearly PM Tsvangirai is not averse to doing foolish things. This very public rejection by Namibia will make it crystal clear that the fight is over for MDC and PM Tsvangirai.

Au revoir comrade Tsvangirai, your blundering incompetence, was the weakest link in the nation’s search for democratic change; no one will miss you, it is good riddance! Do not bother with the goodbyes, just go!

NCA to become a political party, Madhuku announces.

The two MDC factions have been a great failure; they were elected on a ticket to bring democratic change - as the parties' name states. After five years in government, what the democratic change did they bring? Zimbabweans are going to find out very soon that the Copac constitution is not going to deliver "free and fair elections, free of violence" as PM Tsvangirai and his MDC friends promised.

NCA was the only organisation that stuck its head above the parapet and dismissed the constitution for the rubbish it is. The nation must give Madhuku and company credit for that.

Given that the two MDC factions have proved to be completely useless, there is therefore a political vacuum that needs filling; NCA should state on the plate. The time for NCA to form a new party is now not after the elections. Given that MDC are useless, they should step aside and not split the anti-Zanu PF vote. An MDC win will not make an difference at the end of the day from a Zanu PF win because the latter will be the real political power behind the MDC throne anywhere!

To be fair to all the SADC leaders, they did try to tell Tsvangirai to keep his eye on the ball - im-plementing the reforms - but of course Tsvangirai would not listen. Ever since he took the oath of PM he changed. USA Ambassador said Tsvangirai was not capable of taking advice back in 2007, after he became PM “akabva ati matanda munzeve pfoo, pfoo!” as one would say in Sho-na. (He plugged his ears with logs!)

The people elected Tsvangirai to get rid of the Zanu PF dictatorship, the dictatorship has emerged out of the GNU stronger than ever. When you have a rat infestation you get a cat; if the rat infestation is still there and getting worse then forget the rats get rid of the useless cat!

The trouble with many Zimbabweans is that they cannot juggle more than one ball at a time; they know they need to get rid of the Zanu PF dictatorship, the rats, and they cannot see that as long as they have a useless cat the rat infestation will only get worse. The cat has even taken ad-vantage of the people’s dithering to create the impression that he is indispensible and to demand Sheba cat food because he will not be seen dead with a rat in his mouth!

Kick the useless cat out; that is what I say! Au revoir monsieur Prime Minister Tsvangirai; you can go back to Bohera and do not come back! The people of Zimbabwe are going to pay heavily for having elected him and will pay even more for agonising and not kick him out now!

Dumisani Muleya, the editor of the Zimbabwe Independent, reporter Owen Gagare and company lawyer Nqobile Ndlovu were arrested Tuesday for publishing a story claiming Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s party was “engaged in sensitive high-level talks’ with the country’s security chiefs.

Even if Mutsekwa did or did not speak to anyone in ZRP or the Army, what harm or crime is there in that? There is no prima facie case here and therefore an abuse power.

Zimbabwe is a police state and fear rules supreme! This is just one such example of the State machinery and power being abused to terrorize the people. As for you, Chimbwido, you are doing what idiots like you do best; defend the indefensible!

A Harare magistrate is to rule Wednesday whether 19 MDC-T activists, charged with impersonating government officials during a door-to-door voter registration campaign, should be allowed bail.

This has been the story of MDC all these last five years; jumping from one bush fire to the next. This is the end result of MDC's failure to have the democratic reforms implemented all these five years because of the party's incompetence.

This is chaos and this is all the nation will ever get from MDC.

@Yepec

Yepec you are brain dead. I suppose one can say a demagogue is brain dead in which case I will never emulate you, that I know for sure.

These MDC supporters were arrested for "impersonating government officials". What is that? Was it the way they walked, the way they spoke, what they were wearing, what?

These 19 are not the only ones who are victims of this oppressive regime. There many other cases of harassments, arrests, beatings and murders - many are not even reported.

This must be stopped!

All Minister Makone had to say was that she "hopes justice will prevail when the group appears in court for their bail hearing"! Great! She is the co-Minister of Home Affairs for Christ sake. The Police are supposed to report to her. The arrested were campaign for her.

MDC was elected on a ticket to bring democratic change and they have brought none. All they care about is get back on the gravy train.

Well someone has to tell the people the truth; that MDC is taking advantage of their suffering to get into power and that PM Tsvangirai and company are breathtakingly incompetent to do anything to end the people’s suffering.

Where one is speaking from is not important; if what they say is the truth it will remain so. Look at you, Yepec, you write nonsense; it will still be nonsense whether you based in New York, Tokyo, Mars or Hell!!

@Zimbo1

The trouble with people like Mugabe, Chimbwido and all these Zanu PF thugs and murderers is they have a soft head; give them a whiff of power (we know power is a very power drug) and they go nuts. Here they have been taking absolute power that is like 100% proof alcohol and they think they are untouchable, they are gods.

Well the only thing to do with them is to take away the drug and hang them. Do not waste time talking to a tree.

Zimbabwe had a real good chance to end the Zanu PF dictatorship but PM Tsvangirai and his MDC friends have proved to be breathtakingly incompetent. Still we have work to do and mark my word it will be done. The madness in Zimbabwe cannot go on much longer!

@ Yepec

You are right there Yepec, "chakabaya chakatyokera" and in your case it has been spread all over your body like a cancer. As I have said before you are brain dead, you are totally inca-pable of responding to reason.
I did not know that it was Tsvangirai who waved his magic wand and made the cholera bug disappear, forced inflation rate drop from 500 billion percent to single digits, etc. which is what idiots like you clearly believe!
I have been consistently critical of the tyrant Mugabe and his cronies and the suffering they have cause over the years because of their gross mismanagement, rampant corruption and brutal political repression. So it is nonsense for you to accuse me of not making "whimper" against Mugabe and Zanu PF.
I have refused to accept the Mugabe argument that because he is a liberation war hero he should be allowed to do as he please. His war record maybe the most decorated one in human history still that is no excuse for him to deny even one Zimbabwean their basic rights and freedoms much less millions of Zimbabweans and murdering over 30 000.
By the same token, Tsvangirai may have used his magic wand and brought back to life the more than 4 000 Zimbabweans who died of cholera in 2007/8, etc. that is NO excuse why he failed to get the democratic reforms implemented. He was not too tired because he has spent the last five years gallivanting all over the world and chasing women of dubious repute!
I have offered solutions to this political crisis. I have argued on this site not to accept the weak and feeble Copac constitution; warning that it would not deliver free and fair election and, worse still, accepting it would close the door to implementing reforms. Tsvangirai and MDC would not listen and they spearheaded the yes vote campaign. And now the door to reform is shut the idiot is flying from country to country asking for support to get the reforms implemented.
It is ok for you Yepec to support Tsvangirai and MDC; you are brain dead so you cannot see their incompetence and blundering. I am not brain dead, I can see that Tsvangirai and MDC will never ever bring about the democratic change the nation need so desperately.
It is folly to support a flawed, incompetent and blundering leader like Tsvangirai. I am here to tell everyone that their must open their eyes, ears and, most important of all, their minds to see and comprehend the political reality in Zimbabwe and not to stop following like sheep to the slaughter!
I do not expect you, Yepec, to understand that message because you are brain dead. There are many Zimbabweans whose brain, although not firing, is nonetheless still alive, it is them I am speaking to!

The Zimbabwe parliament unanimously approve new constitution; what a carry on.

Innocent Gonese, the MDC-T chief whip, said the constitutional Bill passed parliament’s two thirds majority threshold when 156 MPs voted in favour and none against.

Here we go! PM Tsvangirai and MDC have finally tacitly accepted that the Copac Constitution is too weak and feeble to deliver free and fair elections and hence the last minute frantic efforts to get SADC and the AU to pressure Mugabe and Zanu PF to accept democratic reforms. Instead of accepting they made a blunder in accepting a weak constitution in the first place they still go ahead and approve unanimously without even some token debate. What a carry on!

Zimbabwe is to import 15 000 tonnes of maize at a cost US$ 25 million from Zambia.

“There are areas where there is nothing at the moment because of the drought,” said Zanu PF Agriculture Minister Joseph Made. “People in the northern parts of the country are at least beginning to harvest.”

Zimbabwe has already made a $4 million down payment. We used to be the region’s bread basket
Yes Minister Made, since Mugabe and his Zanu PF cronies took over the farms Zimbabwe has had a drought every year!
