 “How dare you speak against CAB4 and against Zimbabwe becoming a kingdom and having a king of our own?”

Zimbabwe is NOT a democratic republic. Zimbabwe has never ever held free, fair and credible elections - one of the key requirements in an healthy and functioning democracy. Never ever!

The nearest the nation has ever got to holding free, fair and credible elections was in the March 2008 elections. SADC had forced Zanu PF to accept a number of electoral reforms such as that vote counting was to take place at each Polling Station and the results, witnessed all present, posted for the public to see. 

When Mnangagwa and Chiwenga realise that Zanu PF was heading for electoral defeat, they launched operation Mavhotera Papi to wrestle power from MDC and, more significantly, to punish the people for having dared to reject Zanu PF! 

Zimbabwe is and has always been a de facto one party - Zanu PF - dictatorship. 

Mugabe ruled from 1980 to 2017 because the regime rigged elections. Mnangagwa took over following the 2017 military coup, the ordinary people had no democratic say in that. Mnangagwa has rigged the 2018 and 2023 elections to extend his stay in office. He has rigged CAB3 to extend his rule beyond the 10 years maximum stipulated in the constitution. 

CAB4 is meant to abolish all pretence Zimbabwe is a democratic republic, abolish the now meaningless ritual of rigged elections, and impose a kingdom and a king. Zimbabwe is a de facto one party dictatorship already CAB4 will make it a de jure one party dictatorship. 

Zimbabwe has dictatorship and a dictator masquerading as a republic with and elected president; CAB4 will allow the dictatorship/dictator to transition to kingdom/king! 

I am daring to oppose CAB4 publicly and proud of it because that is in Zimbabwe’s national interest. Zimbabwe is a failed state and the root cause of that because Zimbabwe is a de facto one party dictatorship. Ending the dictatorship and alleviating the people’s suffering and ending economic and political mess is the number one national priority. 

Only an idiot would ignore the reality we have a dictatorship/dictator under the foolish delusion that calling Zimbabwe a kingdom with a king is panacea to all the problems brought on by the failed state! 

Mnangagwa is a buffoon with a well documented track record as corrupt, incompetent and a murderous thug whose hunger for absolute power and looted wealth is insatiable he will do anything, rig elections and even kill. Only a village idiot would aid and abet a system designed to rob the people their fundamental rights and freedoms to help such a buffoon become king! 

Even if the person who will be king is unknown still it would be foolish to rob the ordinary people their fundamental rights and freedoms including the right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country on the idiotic grounds that the ordinary person did not have any of those rights and freedoms in King Munhumutapa’s days and yet it was successful. 

The very fact that the kingdom did collapse living behind such monuments as the Zimbabwe Ruins is proof the system had its strengths and weakness too. To make a big song and dance of its successes and say nothing about its weaknesses is dishonest and foolish. 

This is the 21st century and our greatness as a nation will be defined by whether or not we devise a policy system that delivered peace, justice and economic prosperity to all Zimbabweans. And to back CAB4 knowing fully well it will turn Zimbabwe from a de facto one party dictatorship into a de jure, from the frying pan into the fire, is foolish. I am not a idiot are am daring to say so!

Mnangagwa believes CAB3 is done and dusted and so can move on to CAB4! CAB3 is not done and dusted. CAB3 is null and void. 2028 presidential and parliamentary elections must go ahead and, this time, they better be free, fair and credible!

When all those advocating for CAB4 and against it, etc. are quiet the question that must be asked is whether any of their proposed changes will have any bearing on the bottom line - will the proposals change the lives of the 49.2% living in extreme poverty? I listened to arguments from most of the speakers and it was just noise from stupid people. 

Zimbabwe has a lot of very stupid people. 

Indeed it is not by accident that Zimbabwe is a failed state with 49.2% of our people living in poverty. We have travelled down this road for the last 46 years. Listening to the sheer stupidity of some of the speakers explains not only why we are a failed state but, more significantly, why we are doomed to remain a failed state for generations to come giving the depth of the stupidity! 

God! We really have some stupid, stupid people out there! 

Carlo Maria Cipolla was right about there being stupid people even where including amongst the well educated and professionals, most of the speakers in the above discussion were well educated and professionals but their stupidity was like hot chilli, nothing else mattered!

 It seems everyone in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 is very angry. The problem is we are venting our anger to the wrong people. Collaborators went into a tirade of anger after Cde Douglas Mahiya said that the government doesn't have money to give them.

Zanu PF ruling elite were cunning in dividing the nation into the ruling elite, mashefu, war veterans, chimbido and mujiba and last povo. introducing 

Zanu PF has conned war veterans and chimbidos and mujimbas to support the party blindly and has used them to do the party's dirty work, notably during 2008 Operation Mavhotera Papi. They were promised that after the chefs had had their fill, they will have their turn. They are now sick and tired of waiting for their turn - just another mirage!

Many of the war veterans are as poor as the 49.2% living on US$3 per day or less. All they ever got was a bicycle. 

Chimbidos and Mujimba have nothing, absolutely nothing!

“Why ZANU-PF Keeps Winning & What We Need To Do To Change That 

Fellow opposition supporters and activists, we need to have a serious conversation. We are up against a well-oiled machine in ZANU-PF, and whether we like it or not, they continue to out maneuver us. It’s not because they have better ideas or because the people love them—it’s because they are better organized and more disciplined in executing their strategy.

 1. ZANU-PF Organizes Around a Common Purpose 

ZANU-PF is clear on what it stands for: power retention at all costs. Every structure within the party, from the grassroots to the top, operates with one mission—to keep control of the state. They mobilize their people, train their cadres, and ensure everyone is aligned with the party’s agenda.

Meanwhile, in the opposition, we spend too much time fighting each other, debating who is more revolutionary, and failing to coordinate our efforts. We have brilliant minds and dedicated activists, but we are scattered. We lack unity of purpose, and this is why ZANU-PF keeps out maneuvering us.

 2. They Build Structures, We Build Moments 

ZANU-PF has solid party structures that allow them to mobilize efficiently—cells, district committees, war veterans, youth leagues, and social media teams. These structures allow them to control narratives, influence communities, and manipulate elections.

On the other hand, we rely on social media moments, hashtags, and spontaneous protests. While these are powerful tools, they cannot replace strong political structures on the ground. If we do not build organized structures that outlast elections, we will always be reacting to ZANU-PF instead of setting the agenda.

 3. They Invest in Their Supporters, We Neglect Ours 

ZANU-PF knows the power of rewarding loyalty. Their supporters get land, tenders, jobs, and access to resources—even if it is corrupt. This keeps their people motivated and willing to fight for the party.

In the opposition, many supporters give their time, resources, and energy—but what do they get in return? There’s no proper support system, no recognition of sacrifices, and no investment in building a sustainable movement. If we want to compete, we must take care of our own.

 4. We Must Organize Like a Government in Waiting 

If we are serious about removing ZANU-PF, we must start behaving like a government in waiting. 

That means:

▪️Unifying around a common purpose—winning power and governing better.

▪️Building strong party structures—not just Twitter campaigns.

▪️Investing in our activists and supporters—not just asking them to protest and vote.

▪️Developing a clear alternative vision—not just criticizing ZANU-PF but showing how we will govern differently.

 Time to Stop Complaining & Start Organizing 

ZANU-PF thrives because we let them. Every time we fail to organize ourselves properly, we make their job easier. Our enemy is not just ZANU-PF, it is disorganization.

Now is the time to change how we operate. Enough talk—let’s build a movement that can actually win.”

Zanu PF leaders are just a bunch of corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous thugs. 

Zimbabwe is a failed state performing way below expectation. We should be the South Korea or Singapore of Africa but have instead become the text book failed state plagued with gross mismanagement, rampant corruption, chaos and confusion - proof we have brain dead buffoons ruling the roost. 

Zanu PF has managed to stay in power for 46 years and counting for four reasons:

1. 1) Zanu PF had the great fortune of have a very resourced nation and Mugabe and now Mnangagwa have used this wealth to buy votes and loyalty. Mugabe inherited a robust economy from Smith, the Biblical seven fat cows and seven fat ears of corn, by the late 1990s the wealth was nearly spent. Mugabe seized the land, the only other asset left, to give to his ever demanding and wasteful followers. The farm seizure and the money printing crazy fuelled the country’s world record hyperinflation which soared to 500 billion by end of 2008. Mugabe lost the March 2008 elections because he no longer had the wealth with which to bribe those around him and keep them loyal to him. Mnangagwa and Chiwenga stepped in to launch Operation Mavhotera Papi to wrestle power from the opposition and to punish the people for having dared to reject Zanu PF - see 2) below. Mnangagwa inherited one skin and borne cow from Mugabe in 2017 and so he had to dig deep to find enough wealth to bribe those around him. Corruption under Mugabe was bad but it went into overdrive under Mnangagwa.

1. 2) Zanu PF has always wield the large stick with which to whip its critics and opponents into silence and died silence if need be. “Zanu PF has degrees in violence!” Mugabe has often boasted and the nation has seen a lot of violence and blood shed in last 46 years - proof Zanu PF thugs are trigger happy. 

1. 3) There have been many time when Zanu PF have come close to losing the party’s struggle hold on power notably during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. The party emerged from the GNU even stronger than ever not so much because Mugabe and his Zanu PF cronies are smart - they are brain dead buffoons as noted above - but because the MDC leaders turned out to be breathtakingly corrupt and incompetent. 

1. 4) If the intellectual ability of Zanu PF leaders compared to mankind today is comparing space age man to cave man. Mugabe compared to Tsvangirai, cave man compared to his great, great father. The ease with which both Zanu PF and MDC/CCC leaders have lied and conned their followers to do stupid things like participate in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the nation’s suffering; the followers are Homo Erectus, 1 million years ago!

“Zimbabwe's economy grew by 8.3% in 2025, while foreign direct investment increased from US$597 million in 2024 to US$965 million in 2025. The tourism sector alone attracted more than US$1 billion in investments during the NDS 2021–2025 period and the momentum is continuing.

As such, tourism investment increased from approximately US$190.5 million in 2024 to US$194.5 million in 2025, and in the first half of 2026 alone, Zimbabwe recorded approximately US$132 million in tourism investments.

In the first quarter of 2026, tourism investment increased by an extraordinary 438 percent. This remarkable progress is an affirmation of the able and capable leadership of President ED Mnangagwa.”

Zimbabwe is a failed state in which the few filthy rich are getting richer and richer whilst the filthy poor are getting poorer and poorer and their numbers are growing exponentially. 

Minister Ncube talks of the economy growing by 8.3%, the only growth many people can testify of is in the mining sector. The number of small-scale miners, “makorokoza” as they are known locally, has increased by leaps and bounds (for many it is either one becomes a mukorokoza, a street vendor or leave the country).  The other growth in the mining sector is at the top end by mainly Chinese. Mountains sides are disappearing and shipped out Beira in convoys of heavy duty lorries. 

It is laughable that Finance Minister should be wittering about the booming mining sector when most of the mineral wealth extracted is not declared as the Al Jazeera Gold Mafia documentary revealed. 80% of the US$2 billion per year gold extraction was being smuggled, the documentary revealed. 

The Al Jazeera documentary came out in 2023 and to date none on the those involved in the smuggling have been arrested. For the record Mnangagwa, Chiwenga and many other Zanu PF leaders were named in the documentary. 

When those in the highest offices in the land are themselves the Mafia Godfathers, you have state capture, the Mafia is the State and the State is the Mafia. It is near impossible to uproot corruption! 

Our hospitals have no medicines and schools have no teachers because many have left to escape the slave wages. Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube has no money to allocate to health and education and yet he knows that Dr Kudakwashe Tagwirei squandered a staggering US$40 million on his son’s wedding alone. Dr Tagwirei is one of the filthy rich few whose wealth says one thing and tax return says the opposite; the Ministers knows that and has never dared to investigate. UNTOUCHABLE!

Last week, one MPs announced in parliament that it took him 15 hours to drive 364 km from Bulawayo to Hwange. How is it possible that tourism is booming regardless of the reality the tourists cannot get to their destinations because of the sorry state of Zimbabwe’s roads!

Is Coltart refusing CAB3 extension of mayoral office to ingratiate himself with gullible voters ready to con them yet again?

Bulawayo mayor David Coltart has rejected any automatic extension of his tenure under the Constitutional Amendment (No. 3) Act of 2026 (CAA3), insisting that he will leave office in 2028 unless residents grant him a fresh mandate through a lawful, free and fair referendum.

Coltart, who has previously said he intends to step down at the end of his current term, said he would only consider remaining in office beyond 2028 if Bulawayo residents explicitly approved an extension through the ballot box.

"If there is a referendum, free and fair, a lawful referendum, and the majority of the people say we are happy to extend, in those circumstances, then I have a further mandate from the people," Coltart said in an interview.

"But without that mandate, it's two things – it's a breach of the constitution and it is also a breach of trust, because when I was elected, my contract with the people was five years.

"There was no talk about me having a seven-year term. In my view, it's a breach of trust.

"So I am not changing in that regard. If there's no lawful mandate from the people, my contract with the people has ended."

Coltart's position comes amid an ongoing national controversy over CAA3, which President Emmerson Mnangagwa signed into law in July.

The sheer hypocrisy of this stinks to the high heavens. 

So Mayor Coltart insists he will “leave office in 2028 unless residents grant him a fresh mandate through a lawful, free and fair referendum (on CAB3).” 

Ask him “Did you take up the mayoral office because residents granted you a mandate through lawful, free and fair 2023 elections?” Both SADC and AU election observers condemned the 2023 election process as flawed and illegal. And that did not stop Coltart taking up his seat. 

He knew that participating in the flawed elections process would give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the Zanu PF dictatorship. What is more, he and his fellow MDC/CCC leaders have known this since the 2013 elections!

“The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition was that both MDCs couldn’t now do the obvious - withdraw from the (2013) elections. The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

Has David Coltart finally developed a conscience or is this him, joining the rats, abandoning the sinking MDC/CCC ship! Smart move!

He abandoned the white racist Rhodesia, at least, many blacks forgave him for his part in Ian Smith’s white supremacist Rhodesia and counted him as one of the “good” whites. No doubt he is expecting some people to consider him one of the “competent and incorruptible” MDC/CCC leaders! 

There was a father who had four sons. He asked the first son to do something for him. The son rudely reply that he would not do it. He latter reconsidered and carried out the task.

The second son assured the father he would do the requested task. He did not do the work.

The third nodded to his father and carried out the task with no fuss.

The fourth made a big fuss assuring his father he would carry out the task only to perform the task without much care and attention. Con his father into believing the task was carried out with due diligence and care.  "Masiya ndaita!" as one would say in Shona.

Which of the four sons would the father be least pleased with?

Which of the four sons would he be most pleased with?

Which of the remaining two sons would he be better pleased with? 

David Coltart has been participating in flawed elections, "so flawed, so illegal, the only logical step is to withdraw," as he readily confessed. He did not withdraw out of greed as he readily confessed too. He knew participating will give Zanu PF legitimacy and it did.

Of course, it is insulting to those suffering the consequences of what the tyrannical Zanu PF is doing to be reminded of their suffering by the individuals who gave Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed. 

Should the nation be impressed with CCC leaders who participated in the flawed elections, gave Zanu PF legitimacy and then made a big song and dance about how they objected to CAB3. Of course these leaders are cynical and manipulative, so why should the nation be impressed? 

Is Coltart refusing the automatic term extension because he is only now seeing the evil of perpetuating the dictatorship or could it be that he can see the dictatorship is doomed and in ingratiating himself to the voters ready to con them again!

A rat that abandons a sinking ship is just a rat seeking to save its own life! For all we know it may well be the rat the directly or indirectly cause the events leading to the sinking of the ship!

The father will be least pleased with the son who should know better but acts out of cynicism, deceit and hypocrisy!

The ancient Greeks were right, democracy - government of the people, by the people and for the people - only works if the said people are diligent in holding the leaders to account, their sacred duty. The Greeks realised that for the people to be trusted to carry out this duty they must be educated, knowledgeable and objective.

The Greeks granted right to vote to only those who would diligently hold leaders to account - that is not negotiable.

Giving the vote to people with the personality cult mentality is the very antithesis of whom the ancient Greeks' diligent voters. In Boxer, the horse, George Orwell paints a portray of one with a personality cult mentality. Boxer adopts "Napoleon is always right!" as his personal motto. The sacred duty of diligently holding the leaders account is out of the window.

In Zimbabwe VaPositori4ED, Young Women4ED, etc., have all shown this personality cult mentality. The Zanu PF regime has encouraged this by bankrolling the activities of these groups. And the groups have in turn promoted the glory of ED at the expense of the good of Zimbabwe.
