"The Presidential Title Deeds Programme continues," Mnangagwa 2026 SONA. Granting right to own property continues at a gracial pace! W Mukori

🇿🇼 State of the Nation: What it means for ordinary Zimbabweans - HARARE 24 SUMMARY

THE PRESIDENT gave a State of the Nation Address SONA today in parliament.

At Harare 24 we know munongoda tingoti ga ga straight to main points.

The President vati Zimbabwe’s economy is stabilising, with inflation now in single digits and foreign-currency inflows are increasing.

The main points for us are:

•  Food: Agriculture grew strongly, but government is preparing for possible drought and food shortages next year.

•  Electricity: Government says load-shedding is now largely behind us, with more power coming from Hwange, Kariba and solar.

•  Jobs: Government says mining, manufacturing and investment are creating jobs, with more opportunities promised for young people and women.

•  Roads: Major highways, including Harare-Beitbridge and Harare-Nyamapanda, will continue being upgraded.

•  Property: More people in urban and peri-urban areas are expected to receive title deeds, giving them formal ownership of their homes.

•  Healthcare: Government says it is improving hospitals and clinics and increasing access to medicines.

•  Small businesses: New laws are planned to make it easier for SMEs to formalise, access finance and find markets.

•  Safety: New laws will target drug abuse, human trafficking, firearms and fake overseas job schemes.

•  Transport: Airports and railways are being upgraded, while new laws will address roads and road accidents.

In simple terms: Government is saying the economy is getting better. The real question for ordinary Zimbabweans is whether that improvement will be felt through lower prices, reliable electricity, better services, more jobs and higher purchasing power.

026 SONA: PRESIDENT MNANGAGWA OUTLINES KEY NATIONAL PRIORITIES

President Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has officially opened the Fourth Session of the 10th Parliament, outlining key achievements and priorities:

•  Agriculture: Government has adopted a Six-Pillar resilience plan against projected below-normal rainfall, focusing on grain reserves, climate-smart agriculture, financing and livestock protection.

•  Mining & Industry: Zimbabwe produced its first locally made lithium sulphate, while investments in lithium, gold, PGMs, iron and steel, manufacturing and mineral beneficiation continue.

•  Energy: President Mnangagwa said frequent load shedding is now a thing of the past, with Kariba, Hwange, IPPs and solar supporting electricity supply.

•  Infrastructure: Government targets completion and upgrading of major highways, including Harare-Beitbridge, Bulawayo-Victoria Falls and Kwekwe-Nkayi-Lupane, alongside the Mabvuku Interchange.

•  Rail & Aviation: The 614km Chicualacuala-Plumtree railway is being rehabilitated under a US$12 billion regional agreement, while the Kafue-Lion’s Den railway is planned. Kariba Airport will be upgraded and two additional international airlines are expected in 2027.

•  Housing & Social Services: The Presidential Title Deeds Programme continues, alongside improvements in healthcare, medicines, digital health, social protection and support for returning citizens.

•  Sport: International football has returned to the National Sports Stadium, while Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium is being developed for the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.

•  International Relations: Zimbabwe assumes a UN Security Council non-permanent seat for 2027–2028 and will assume the COMESA Chairmanship in October 2026.

•  New Laws: Parliament will consider reforms covering elections and delimitation, justice, healthcare, finance, agriculture, water, transport, drug and substance abuse, human trafficking, firearms, defence and benefits for liberation war veterans.

President Mnangagwa reaffirmed Government’s drive towards Vision 2030, calling for accelerated development that “leaves no one and no place behind.”

This is nauseating, it really is! Millions of Zimbabweans in the rural area are being denied the right to OWN property, even one quarter of an acre of land on which their mud hut stand. This has been a deliberate policy by this Zanu PF regime and the white colonial regime before it.

Smith did not want rural blacks to have title deeds to the land for fear that the economic empowerment will embolden the blacks to demand political empowerment next. He did not want to give the blacks a vote. Period!

Mugabe and now Mnangagwa have too refused to give title deeds to the rural blacks for the same selfish economic and political reasons. Zanu PF could not deny rural blacks the vote but by by denying them economic empowerment the party knew it will have control over whom they voted for.

The rural areas are Zanu PF’s strongholds and that has not changed. The so called Presidential Title Deeds Programme is giving title deeds to the lucky few who were given the former white-owned farms or benefited from the subdivided farms. These people got Offer Letters initially which is not bankable because the letters were withdrawn willy nilly with no legal recourse.

The Presidential Title Deeds Programme has no authority in the rural areas. Rural povo have no right to own even once acre of land on which their mud hut stand. All land in the Tribal Trust Lands belong to the President.

Every square inch of rural land belongs to the President and all those living in the rural areas are no more than medieval serfs forever beholden to the land lord!

It is utterly pointless telling these thugs that the right to own property is a fundamental human right.

Article 17

17.1 Everyone has the right to own property alone as well as in association with others.

17.2 No one shall be arbitrarily deprived of his property.

These thugs have yet to understand the first article!

Article 1

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

The notable thing that they understood all these rights before independence, they were amongst the blacks of the coal face facing white racism, oppression and exploitation. When they became the oppressors they saw nothing wrong!

The right to own property, more specifically to own land, is a fundamental human right. The white colonial regimes denied blacks title deeds to even a quarter an acre of land on which their mud hut stood because Smith feared that economically empowered blacks would demand political empowerment next. He did not want to give blacks the vote.

After independence the Zanu PF regime of Mugabe and now Mnangagwa is too refusing to give blacks title deeds to the land for the same selfish economic and political reasons.

"The Presidential Title Deed Programme will continue" announced Mnangagwa in his SONA 29/9/2026.

The sheer stupidity of that statements speaks volumes of the buffoon. The programme is granting the right to own property at a glacial pace to the few who own farms, the former white-owned farms. As for the rural poor they are not even considered human enough to dream of enjoying this basic right! All land in the former Tribal Trust Lands now belong to the President!

How infuriating!

"No more load shedding!" Mnangagwa promised in his SONA 29/9/2026. How many times has he promised that?

You have lost count! So have I!

His whole SONA is a promise to deliver an upper middle income nation by 2030. The so-called vision 2030. Well, vision 2030 is a lie. Mnangagwa has been in power for nine years since the 2017 military coup and the economic has not shown any signs of recovery much less a boom. It is nonsense that he will deliver the boom in the remaining four years.

Zimbabwe is a failed state because the nation has been stuck with this corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous Zanu PF dictatorship for 46 years. There will be no meaningful economic recover until we cure ourselves of the curse of rigged elections and bad governance.

Demanding that the 2028 elections must go ahead, forget the CAB3 nonsense of granting Mnangagwa and his cronies a 2 year extension of their term in office. CAB3 was passed on the basis of delivering vision 2030 - we know vision 2030 is a lie, a mirage!

"What kind of people are we celebrating some one's (Wicknell Chivayo) death? It is un-African." remarked Chalton Hwende MP. This is rich coming from some one who benefited from Chivayo's nefarious looting activities.

Zimbabwe is a failed state and individuals like Chivayo have played a key role in corrupting Zimbabwean society and rendering it dysfunctional. Hwende benefited from the looting and hence the reason why he is heart broken at the death!

@ Chivayo

One must never ever aid and abet the suffering of others. He was doing well only because he had Emerson by the balls. Kuchibata kuti bvii!

People will remember you for being corrupt and the suffering you brought to millions of others!
