It is officially confirmed: Mugabe will not attend EU - Africa summit because his wife was denied a visa but other African Leaders will!

So Mugabe has decided to boycott the EU-Africa summit and the AU, has flip-flop, and has decided the rest of the African leaders will attend.

“President Mugabe will not be travelling to the summit and there will be no Zimbabwean delegation at the summit. This means our seat will be empty,” Foreign Affairs Secretary Joey Bimha told reporters. The summit would be the better for the empty seat!

So George Charamba's "What God has put together the EU is trying to separate," nonsense had no effect of the dominantly Christian EU countries. It was not meant for the African leaders themselves for their moral compasses, like everything else, damaged beyond repair by their insatiable greed and heartlessness.

Where were Mugabe's Christian values of not separating what God has put together when he repeatedly seduced Grace, a married woman to father Bona, when his first wife Sally was alive? Where were his Christian values when he rigged the elections again and again and again? Only a sadistic hypocrite would talk of the sanctity of marriage when his hands a dripping of the blood of over 30 000 innocent people he murdered to gratify his love for power and wealth!

It is every thinking Zimbabwean's fervent that Africa's breaking of rank with the Zimbabwe tyrant, Mugabe, marks the beginning of the continent's acknowledge of Mugabe as a corrupt and ruthless tyrant and to deal with the tyrant accordingly.

It was a stupid AU decision   to have agreed to boycott the EU - Africa summit to plicate a tyrant for fear he would throw tantrums. Let Mugabe throw his tantrums! The summit is definitely better off without him there - seating there snoring like a pig!

You answer my question and in it is the answer to your question?

Three of the permanent members USA, France and British hold free, fair and democratic elections; Russia and China do not. It is therefore nonsense to suggest that the Russians and Chinese would be more democratic in the UN when they have clearly failed to do so in their own country!

@ Mando

I agree with you there the EU has completely outwitted Mugabe here. They made a big song and dance about extending the invitation to Mugabe after the AU threatened to boycott the summit f Mugabe was left out. Mugabe and his propaganda machines went into overdrive celebrating and his usual oversized entourage including Grace Mugabe were agog exchange internet site addresses in Brussels in preparation for all the shopping they will be doing. Then bang!

The EU publically announced that they will not give Grace the visa, knowing this will throw the cat amongst the pigeons! She went into a rage. The Zanu PF propaganda machine at full speed ahead was immediately thrown into reverse. This is a crazy and stupid manoeuvre with disastrous consequences. George Charamba's gave a clearly rushed and ill-advised statement.

“By putting apart what God has knitted together in matrimony, Europe is seeking to be that God, indeed to challenge the sanctity of African marriage [which is] a pro-logue to the insertion of gay values,” Charamba told the world. This is the message that has echoed round the world.

So the world now says Mugabe boycotted the summit because going to Europe without his wife would have forced him to be gay!

Even those African leaders who had made the initial decision t boycott if Mugabe was not invited would look even more foolish to do so now. They will have a stronger reason to boycott if Mugabe had said he was coming without his wife - who would want to live next door to a sex maniac.

I do not remember ever seeing any shop selling designer shoes in Chivhu where she grow up! She was lucky to have any shoes then as we all were and now she can wear only Ferragamo designer shoes!

Well Grace will have to do all her shopping on the internet!

Tsvangirai was another waste of space!

@ Mawillis

So now you have nothing to say to defend Mugabe you are resorting to correcting spelling mistakes. You really have run out of ideas!

You never thought the day would come when Mugabe would be made to look the pathetic, corrupt and ruthless tyrant he is. The regime is collapsing and you know you will have to account for the innocent blood you shed for Mugabe. Let me guess, you murdered them because they could not spell but of course!

You have earned the hangman's rope and now you will have it and wear it.

@ Big nugget

The EU outwitted Mugabe, they deliberated granted him the visa but refused his wife knowing she would go into a rage and force Mugabe into a corner, which is exactly what has happened.

The AU was going to boycott because Zimbabwe had not been invited. Now any African leader who boycotts will have to say they are doing so because Grace Mugabe was not invited and if she does not go Mugabe's homosexual tendencies will run amok, according Charamba's statement! Of course no African leader would want to boycott the summit over that one!

To say Grace Mugabe enjoys shopping is misleading in that it fails to distinguish her from the millions of others out there who love shopping.

Grace shops not out of need and no consideration for the amount and that puts her in special league with the likes Imelda Marcos who had 3 000 plus designer shoes! Grace anotenga zvoutsinye hwehure!

@ Jan

The gay value argument was not well thought- it is one of the worse things Charamba has ever said and we a talking of a man who has made a career out of talking nonsense!

@ Rudadiso

Mugabe and his propaganda machine have not said the sanctions are behind Zimbabwe's economic melt-down since the stories of rampant corruption have come out. They did so before the stories because they denied there was corruption and things have changed. They have accepted that there is indeed rampant corruption. It is nonsense to expect the economy to do anything else other than collapse in the face of all these criminal waste of resources!

The SA government says all Zimbabweans in that country must go back to Zimba-bwe to reapply for the extension of their work permit. Many view this a ploy to force Zimbabweans to go back to Zimbabwe.

This is a nightmare; the numbers of unemployed are already at nauseatingly high level. And yet these numbers have been increasing further since August 2013 following the rigged elections resulting in the disappearance of all lingering hope of economic recovery. More and more business have closed forcing thousands more people to join the armies of the unemployed.

If Zimbabweans are forced to leave SA that means adding millions more to the un-employed. There are millions of Zimbabweans in the country who are totally de-pendent on those working in SA directly or indirectly. What is to these dependents?

If only Tsvangirai and MDC had implemented the democratic reforms as promised; Mugabe would not have rigged the elections and the country will NOT be in this mess.

We would at least have a legitimate government the international community can work with. Even China, the longtime friend of Mugabe and Zanu PF, has refused to pay contribute even one Yuan (US $0,16) to Mugabe's $27 billion ZimAsset recovery plan. Everyone knows Mugabe will squander the money posh cars, egotistic statues, extravagant weddings, etc., etc.

Millions of Zimbabweans in SA, in Zimbabwe and wherever they happen to be must be worried at the thought of millions of Zimbabwean flooding back in the country. This is no good time to be unemployed but for that to happen when the economy is taking nose dive is one of the worst time to be unemployed.
