Tsvangirai says he is ready "to lead the country" - a bolt statement for one who cannot even read the political compass!

Tsvangirai was telling his supporters in Dewure Business Centre in Gutu that the nation needed change now and cannot wait until the 2018 elections to have that change given the alarming rate the economy is collapsing. The only change he has offered is that he should be invited back into government so he can Mugabe’s tea-boy and errands messenger again but more significantly he will be back on the gravy train again.

“Right now I heard him (Mugabe) backtracking on his indigenisation policy but I once told them that the policy was not useful in transforming the economy and bringing investment in the country. They are now observing their blunders but it’s too late. We need an able party to lead the country and we are there,” Tsvangirai said.

Talking of Mugabe's blunders; but what about his own blunders! If he had implemented the democratic reforms then Mugabe would not have rigged the elections and the nation would not be in this mess.

The change Tsvangirai is proposing is yet another GNU and it would be business as usual. Another four years of tinkering around without ever addressing the real key problem behind this nation’s political and economic problems – the lack of good governance.

We need to end this corrupt and repressive autocracy Mugabe imposed on the nation with a more progressive system of government in which those in public office are truly accountable to the people – a democracy. We need to dismantle this Zanu PF dictatorship brick by brick and use the same bricks to build democratic institutions; that is why we need to implement the democratic reforms.

Instead of dismantling the dictatorship during the GNU Tsvangirai thought he could wire brush it and spray paint with the democratic colours and the world will not know the difference. How naïve was that!

Tsvangirai should have implemented the democratic reforms, assuming he ever understood their critical importance, during the GNU when he had the majority in parliament and cabinet, had SADC and the whole international community behind him and had five long years to do it. In the new GNU Tsvangirai will not have any of these; he will have a snowball in hell chance of getting Zanu PF to implement any of the democratic reforms.

It is one thing Tsvangirai telling the ordinary villagers in Zimbabwe’s rural back waters that he will lead them to the Promised Land; they are in no position to understand why he failed to deliver free and fair elections as he had promised during the referendum debate on the Copac constitution. The Zanu PF controlled media has kept the rural people poor and ignorant but even then many of the rural people have been scratching their heads for an explanation.

Tsvangirai is going to find it increasingly difficult to get away with his blundering incompetence with the more political savvy urban voters who have access to the internet and other sources of information other than the Zanu PF propaganda.

As for the foreign investors and donors to bring in the much needed funds to kick-start the economic; they will not be fooled by another political marriage of convenience; they will know Tsvangirai will be nothing but Mugabe’s puppet. As long as Mugabe and Zanu PF remain in power, no one will have the confidence to invest in Zimbabwe.

“I don’t need the army, CIO and the police to defeat Mugabe and his fellows splitting from our party because they are anti-change, why because I have the most important thing, the support of the people,” Tsvangirai said.

Tsvangirai’s continued political support is based on the Zimbabwe electorate remaining ignorant, naïve and gullible. Even Mugabe who has controlled the Zimbabwe media with a ruthless zeal comparable to that of North Korea keeping the people ignorant in this day and age is a lost cause. Once the people of Zimbabwe begin to appreciate that Tsvangirai does not have the foggiest idea where the Promised Land is and cannot even read a compass his supporters will disappear like mist under the Africa sun!

Mwonzora says MDC-T will recall the nine MDC rebel MPs including Tendai Biti contrary to Biti’s position that they should not be recalled.

“I want to warn parliament that they must never be used by people who do not respect their own constitution,” said Mwonzora. He sure was a very selective memory.
Is it not true that the MDC constitution stipulated that a leader was to serve a maximum of two five-year terms? Tsvangirai’s two five-year terms were up a long time ago and it was the same idiots who disregarded the constitution arguing the MDC team was “a winning team, why change it!” Well the “winning” team lost the 2013 elections and still the same idiots are refusing to change the team!

Ironically it was the same “motor-mouth” Mwonzora who was MDC’s front man in the drafting of the rubbish Copac constitution. The idiot assured the nation it would deliver free and fair elections but of course it did no such thing. The new constitution is full of undemocratic clauses and the power to recall is one of them.

“The constitution of the country is clear, where a person ceases to be a member of a certain political party, they are recalled by that political party which put them in parliament, and in this case, you were put in parliament by MDC-T,” “motor-mouth” reminded us.

Mugabe will not be want to be seen to be brutal when he is trying so hard to woo the foreign investors and donors to contribute something in the mockingly empty ZimAsset begging bowl otherwise he was going to make political capital out of this and reduce MDC parliamentary representation even further.

Motor mouth must be eyeing one of the recalled seats and get back on the gravy train.

In a first past the post as contrast to a proportional system people elect the individual and not the party. The nation cannot be holding bye-elections every time a political leader gets up the wrong side of the bed.

Will Mugabe agree to have the bye-elections; last time he said he had no money to hold bye-elections; Zimbabwe’s finances are even worse now than during the GNU!

@ Brighton Musonza

I cannot fault your argument Brighton.

The biggest mistake any of these MDC leaders, from both sides of the emerging split, made was failing to implement the democratic reforms. They had the majority in parliament and cabinet, they had SADC and the whole international community behind them and had five long years to implement the reforms already agree in the GPA. They failed to get even one reform implemented. Not even one reform!

Frankly all this talk of MDC infighting is of little consequence, kutungana kwembudzi, because both sides have been fatally damaged politically by their breath-taking incompetence of the GNU years!

@ Ingwe
Yes Tsvangirai can stay in power forever but to what end and purpose!?
A few years ago there are many Zimbabweans who said exactly that about Mugabe allowing to be the tyrant he is today. It seems some people never learn!

Political is not about individuals but something more; it is about ideas. We want freedom, liberty and economic prosperity. Close your eyes and listen with you brain whose ideas are most likely to deliver these things. You fixation with individuals shows it is their looks that attracts you to them and you have never understood a single thing they said.

Tsvangirai has blundered again and again and still you do not get it. What good is it to the nation Tsvangirai remaining leader if he will never bring the democratic changes that will get us out of this mess?

One has to force you to act in your own interest, something that should come naturally to those with common sense. Nhamo inenharo!

It is little wonder the country is in a real mess; what else given we have some of the really thick and foolish voters - voters like you! Thick as a brick, your mind is impermeable to reason!

@ VOA Zimbabwe

The trouble with simpleton like Joel Gabhuza is they simply refuse to see reason. If Tsvangirai is indeed the "only one capable of removing Mugabe from power" then why has he failed to do so? If he failed to do so last time when he was so confident that he would what makes Joel so sure he can do it next time?

Former US Ambassador to Zimbabwe Chris Dell was right in his leaked cable to Washington that "Tsvangirai is a flawed and indecisive character" back in 2004/7. God knows Tsvangirai has done a great job since proving the Ambassador right.

There is a mountain of evidence proving Tsvangirai is incompetent but there are people like Joel who are totally incapable of see any of it. There are as thick as a brick and their minds are impermeable to reason.

How will the country ever get out of this mess with voters like Joel?

@ Diva

He does not even know what the word plan mean. Tinongo pona nehwaku mukwaku seguguvo!

If anyone can not see just incompetent Tsvangirai is after all the evidence of his blundering, there is only one reason why they can not - there are as blind as a mole!

MDC's blundering failures has left all MDC leaders including Tendai Biti damaged politically too. None of them can ever give a credible explanation why the party failed to get even one reform implemented after fives years in the GNU.

People like Biti are on record singing Mugabe praises, showing they were in the tyrant's pockets.

The crowd outside Harvest House is proof that as a nation we are not ready for self-government because they showed that they are incapable of critical self-critique.

Of all the Zimbabweans these fervent MDC supporters had every reason to be disappointed with the July 2013 elections results. They had the numbers on their side and therefore had every reason to be confident of election victory. They should have been the ones demand an explanation from Tsvangirai why Mugabe was able to blatantly rig the elections. Surely there must have been something the party should have done to stop the vote rigging.

Of course there was something the party should have done to stop the vote rigging - implement the democratic reforms agreed in the GPA.

Right up to the day of voting itself most of the MDC supporters were beside themselves with excitement confident of election victory. They did not have the foggiest idea of the democratic reforms that should have been implemented. They all belong to a party that promised to bring democratic change and yet none of them knew anything about what those democratic changes were.

To be fair to the MDC supporters, none of their leaders had a clue what the democratic re-forms were about either.

Still, after Mugabe blatantly rigged the elections that surely should have been the wake-up call for MDC leaders and supporters alike. They should have been all bussing like bees whose hive has just been knocked to the ground.

They should have learnt by now that the leadership had failed to implement the reforms necessary to stop Mugabe rigging the elections. Those idiots at Harvest House on Sunday should have been there backing leadership renewal and not to keep the same failed leadership. There is a mountain of evidence of Tsvangirai blunders and incompetence what else will it take to convince MDC supporters that he is a disaster.

Zimbabwe is in this political and economic mess because the electorate has been naïve and gullible and have followed sheepishly a tyrant or a blundering idiot. Unless the electorate start taking the business of electing competent leaders with the seriously it deserve then Zimbabwe will remain in this mess. So far MDC have shown they are not ready to be given the vote and to govern the country.

never understand that. I do understand it and will beat this drum even if that means doing nothing else for the rest of my life.

Implementing the reforms is the cure Zimbabwe needs to this corrupt autocracy.

Frankly, it you who is the idiot who has blundered from pillar to post and who mind in im-permeable to reason. Years of going around with your head buried in Mugabe and then Tsvangirai's backside have taken their toll, you oxygen starved brain is nothing but a lump of fat.

You need some kicking in the back side if you are ever going to snap out of this comatose state; I have the boot for the job and the zeal to see it through. You say anything stupid and you will get your backside kicked; that you can be assured of.

Zimbabwe will get out of this mess even if that means kicking idiots like you a thousand times a day; I will do it.

Let me say it again you useless moron; Zimbabwe will not a democratic government without implementing democratic reforms!

"We are sick and tired of your Reforms, reforms, reforms". How else did you expect to achieve the democratic changes - you moron!?

You are a brain dead moron and you should keep your hands below the level of your head!

If any MDC leaders and supporters had carried out an post election analysis of way Mugabe had been able to blatantly rig the July 2013 elections then they would have come up with one conclusion - he rigged the elections because none of the reforms agreed in the GPA had been implemented.

MDC had the majority in parliament and cabinet, the support of SADC and five years to implement the reforms and yet failed to get even one reform implemented. Not even one! The consequences of the failure to implement the reform is the return of the Zanu PF dictatorship back into power and the economic and political ramifications of that are the nightmare we see everywhere in Zimbabwe.

The only reason why the reforms were not implemented was the breath-taking incompetence of the MDC leadership; Tsvangirai, Biti the lot.

If any MDC leader or supporter had carried out this analysis then sure the call for leadership renewal was both logical and necessary. The party has been dragged into this totally meaningless tag-of-war because most of the key players have failed to understand the seriousness of the party's dismal poor performance throughout the GNU years.

Both Tsvangirai and Biti have been political mortally wounded by the party's failure to grasp the critical importance of implementing the democratic reforms. They infighting is as meaningless as two crabs about to be cooked fighting for who cares what!

The MDC will continue to enjoy public support as long as the Zimbabwe electorate remain blissfully ignorant of how it was the breath-taking incompetence of the party that landed the nation in this hell-hole. As the penny drops MDC will see the masses in red baseball caps and headscarves all disappear like mist under the African sun!

Sure thing Chematama will never seize to surprise the biggest surprise or me is his failure to realise the critical importance of the reforms. I still cannot believe anyone can be that stupid but, the facts speak for themselves, he was that stupid. I am equally surprise that some many Zimbabwe are still grappling to understand what these democratic reforms are about, I am talking of university graduates and not my cousin in the rural back water!

Of course one has only to see the mess the county is in and everything makes sense. An incompetent opposition leader, a tyrant head of state an electorate with an average IQ of a moron; it all makes sense. Of course it is all a big mess, what else would it be!

Zimbabwe Light said...

@ Felicia 1

You are more stupid than I thought otherwise you would not be asking "to fix" Zimbabwe's political and economic mess because that is exactly what I am.

I am fixing the mess my way and not what a brain-dead moron like you say I should do to fix it. I am the one with the brains you have fatty tissue between our ears and so keep your hands at the level of your head.

Zimbabwe is not going to get out of this mess as long as it has an electorate with an average IQ of a moron - you are one of the morons. These people spend too much time with their heads buried in the backside of leaders like Mugabe, Tsvangirai, Ncube, Biti, etc. The human brain needs oxygen to function properly I am gong around and kicking these morons' a**** and will not stop until they de-couple a cry out thus forcing them to take a breath of fresh air!

If I was interested in taking advantage of the naïve and gullible electorate whom one can promise anything and they will believe you and do not even have to deliver then I would join any one of the 28 political parties. That is what a moron like you would expect me to do. I am interested in stopping even idiots like Tsvangirai taking advantage of morons like you!

I am doing you a big favour kicking in the butt so you can take a breath of fresh air! It I a thankless job but hai someone has to do it!

I am here to kick the backsides of morons who follow leaders blindly like sheep to the slaughter that is the only way Zimbabwe is going to get out of this mess. If you cannot see Tsvangirai for the blundering idiot he is with all the mountain of evidence before you then it is only because you have your head stuck in his a*** and you are a prime candidate for a good kicking. When I am through with you; you will never want to stick your head in anyone's backside and your brain will be working as it should.
