Propagandist Kajau claims Mugabe's land reform was a great success we all know it was a disaster!

Comrade Suitable Kajau has been at it again, trying to tell us black is white and white is black when we can see and name all the colours of the rainbow for ourselves. This time this Mugabe-can-do-no-wrong praise-singer is trying to telling us that Zimbabwe’s political motivated, chaotic, violent and disastrous seizure of white owned farms was “a successful land reform programme”.

“It is against this back-drop (the white owning more land than the blacks) that His Excellence, President Robert Gabriel Mugabe, alongside other nationalists committed their effort and dedication to break the selfish and callous system led by the tyrannical white minorities. Cde Mugabe remained resolute and focused on the need to see blacks enjoying the fruits of their national heritage.

“To satisfy this Zimbabwean dream, Cde Mugabe and his government led an expeditious and successful Land Reform Programme which was meant to empower the historically disenfranchised blacks, and correct the colonial imbalances which existed unbridled for close to a century when whites ruled Zimbabwe illegally between 1890 and 1979.

“The Land Reform Programme came to transform lives, and to resuscitate hope for blacks who had stayed for decades in abject poverty under a racially discriminatory system,” wrote Mugabe’s propagandist.

People like Kajau’s refusal to face the facts and deal with the truth is one of the contributory factors to Zimbabwe’s backwardness by deliberately misinforming the public and thus creating very fertile ground for tyrants to do mischief.

Ever since the white-owned farm seizures in 2000 Zimbabwe has struggled to produce enough to feed its own people, this for a country that, until then, was the bread basket of the region. The collapse of the agricultural sector has contributed to the collapse of the national economy and has yet to recovery. These are the facts and reality that no amount of denial or spin can change.

Mugabe did not institute the white farm invasions until 2000, 20 years after independence, because he appreciated the role the country’s successful agricultural sector played in generating the wealth. But instead of the wealth being put to productive use he doled it out to his greedy and wasteful cronies.

By 1990 the Zimbabwe economy was in serious trouble and government was forced to adopt the first of two five-year Economic Structural Adjustment Programmes (ESAP). The programmes failed to deliver the economic recovery because government did not implement the agreed reforms. By the end of the second five-year ESAP in 1999 the country’s economy was on its knees and up to its eyes in debt. Mugabe needed a new source of wealth to dole out to his cronies, the white-owned was the only asset of value.

Mugabe was also desperate to hold on to political power, a real big challenge in the face of the country’s economic decline. The violent seizure of the white-owned farms provided the smoke-screen to use violence against his political opponents on the populous and rig elections. Zimbabweans have lost their basic and fundamental rights and freedoms including the right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country and the right to life itself under the pretext that Zanu PF was doing all this first and foremost to stop the opposition getting into power and reverse the party’s land reform.

So Zimbabweans were being denied their rights and dignities so that a tyrannical regime can impose a nonsensical and damaging land policy.

There is a crying need to resettle people in many overcrowded rural areas, Mugabe has done very little to address this problem.

Commercial farming was always going to be a key component of the country’s agricultural sector; all Mugabe has done is replaced white farmers with his cronies who had no farming skills but, worst of all, most of whom are lazy and have never done a single day’s honest work in their lives.

Mugabe prophesies to be a great admirer of the Chinese “all weather friends” he called them and yet he has completely failed grasp the secret behind China’s Deng Xiaoping Theory; greatest transformative changes in human history, that delivered a 8% minimum GDP growth rate for 25 years running. China pulled millions of Chinese a year out of a life of abject poverty into prosperity.

Xiaoping theory has two key aspects; first one is to implement the principle of emancipating the mind and seeking truth from facts. The second aspect is the willingness to adopt and accept new ideas as long as the deliver the end objective, economic development.

“It doesn’t matter if a cat is black or white, so long as it catches mice” as Deng Xiaoping famously put it.

Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector will have the peasant farmers and commercial farmers, the latter will be selected on their ability to put land to good use and not the colour of their skin, period!

Again when he returned home the politburo, chaired by Mugabe, decided that Mutasa would have to answer charges of misconduct before the party’s disciplinary committee.
But as soon as Grace turned up in Harare, that Mugabe-approved due process is aban-doned and Mutasa gets expelled without being called to defend himself before the com-mittee.
“They did not even call me to a hearing in line with the party constitution. They are putting the First Lady … first. What a disgrace,” said Mutasa at the weekend.

The greatest challenge to Mugabe’s continued rule is the economy; after 35 years of mismanagement and corruption the national economy is now in ICU. Mugabe’s ZimAsset economic recovery plan is dead in the water; all he ever got was $7 billion for projects and not a dollar for the budgetary support out of the $27 billion required for the plan. The only way to end the economic meltdown now is for Mugabe and Zanu PF to step down.

Whatever Grace and those behind her have done so far it has not helped in any way to revive the Zimba-bwe economy. Frankly she does not have the foggiest idea about the economic meltdown, what is causing it and much less what to do to end it.

The trouble is Mutasa is something of a scatter brain; he should concentrate on his court challenge of the rigged party elections and not be side tracked by Grace's antics.

The celebrations are going to be held under the theme “Celebrating the birth of Gushungo, the icon of Zimbabwe’s revolution and champion of youth empowerment”.

Unemployment is a nauseating 90% plus and been 80% plus for the last 15 years at least. Most of the country’s youths have never had a held a formal job in all their life, they left college or university to go into selling air-time, oranges or trinkets on the street.

The only man the nation can rightly blame for this tragic state of affairs is Robert Mugabe. It is during his 35 years in power that the nation has seen incomes fall to their lowest in 60 years and life expectancy fall from 68 years in 1980 to 34 years in 2008.

So how, in all honesty, can the nation be celebrating and calling Mugabe “champion of youth empowerment”!

No wonder the nation is in this economic and political mess; for years we have stubbornly re-fused to see Mugabe for the corrupt and murderous tyrant that he is, for example, and instead pretended he was the infallible iconic liberation hero we wanted him to be. Today, 35 years later and with the benefit of the evidence of economic ruins and over 30 000 innocent Zimbabweans murdered by the tyrant, it is tragic that there is even one Zimbabwean who does not see Mugabe for the failed and corrupt tyrant he is.

@ Mohamed
Very true except that Dzasukwa is finding it increasing difficult to keep the peace amongst his cabal be-cause he has no loot to give them. As the economic hardship get worse and worse the fighting for the crumbs will get worse and worse.

Mugabe is forcing all the soldiers to take a month leave every second month to save on the food bill. Next time he will force them to accept a cut in their wages and still he will be back asking for more cuts.

Like it or not Mugabe will have to do something to end Zimbabwe's economic meltdown, it is socially and politically unsustainable. The only hope of ending the meltdown is for Mugabe and Zanu PF to resign so the country have finally have free and fair elections.

Mark my word, the economic meltdown will trip Mugabe and this time he is not getting up!

@ Aristocrat

Mugabe has successfully "exterminated" his political opponents, Tsvangirai, Mujuru, you name them. But the one opponent he has failed to cheat or bamboozle is the economy. After 35 years of gross mismanage-ment and rampant corruption the economic meltdown is hitting him hard again and again where it hurts him the most - he has no loot to give his ever demanding but wasteful Zanu PF thugs.

The dog-eat-dog fighting in Zanu PF is because there is no loot left to go round and they are fighting like hyenas over the scraps.

Mugabe is forcing the soldiers to take a month leave every second month just to save on food. He will soon be cutting the soldiers' wages and still the situation will continue to get worse and not better.

Like it or not Zimbabwe's economic meltdown is socially and politically unsustainable and the only way to end it is for Mugabe to step down so there can be free and fair elections.

In his effort to discredit Blair Boris has given Mugabe's best birthday present from London. Mugabe did not always want to seize the white owned farms, he only did so when the Zimbabwe economy was in the gutter and he need loot to bribe his cronies so they will help him rig the elections. He wanted to pick a fight with the British so he can blame them for what him seizing the white farms. So to blame Tiny Blair for the fight is to completely miss the point!

@ John Mukumbo

It is high time that the private media get to appreciate that President Mugabe is a hero and cele-brating his birthday is not a crime.

So if I can prove that Mugabe is NOT a hero then it will follow that celebrating his birthday is in-deed a crime.

Required to prove: Mugabe is not a hero but an incompetent, corrupt and murderous tyrant.

Proof

Zimbabwe’s economy has collapse so that income has dropped to its lowest in 60 years, life ex-pectancy has dropped from 68 years in 1980 to 34 years in 2004, Zimbabwe had a windfall of $800 billion of Marange and Chiadzwa diamonds and they are being spirited away with nothing to show for them, etc. only an incompetent and corrupt leader would have done this.

Zimbabweans have been denied their basic human rights including the right to any meaningful vote and the right to life. Over 30 000 innocent Zimbabweans have been murdered in the 35 years of Mugabe tyrannical rule.

Mugabe rigged the 2013 elections and he is therefore a political impostor; he is illegitimate; mubva ndiripo; who has not right to be president. He is a tyrant.

Therefore, Mugabe is an incompetent, corrupt and murderous tyrant and per se he cannot be a hero. QED.

Boris Johnson just wanted to have a political dig at former Labour PM Tony Blair by blaming him for Zimbabwe's problem. The British help buy farms for resettlement and some of the farms had been idle for years; Mugabe was getting farms not for resettlement but to give his cronies, etc. This was contrary to what had been agreed at Lancaster House, Mugabe knew that and pushed for it because he wanted the British to say no so he could accuse them of not honouring the agreement.

Boris is trying to make a name for himself at the expense of Labour but in doing so has given Mugabe a stick with which to hit the British! I never thought Boris would be this stupid!

“This court case will expose president Robert Mugabe and Zanu PF as tyrants who think they are above the law. It will be a very interesting case for the judges because the illegalities around that fake congress are so obvious and glaring, and there for all to see,” the source said.

Could not agree more; the whole electoral process was rigged and Mugabe did it confident that no one would dare challenge him because he is above the law. So the first step is to challenge him because that in itself disproves his two basic premises that no one would dare and that he is not above the law.

“There is only one Zanu PF and it is the one which is led by our god, President Robert Mugabe,” said Kasukuwere.

Yes Zanu PF has reached its zenith, a clear sign that something catastrophic is imminent. Or as one would say in Shona, “Kana chingoma choririsa chavakubvaruka!”
