We have learnt about of this economic theory at school and first hand in our own dealings. This Zanu PF regime had price controls soon after independence and was forced to phase them out because they resulted in shortages and/or soaring black market prices.
The regime resorted to price controls again in the early 2000s with the same result of shortages and soaring black market prices. It is really disheartening that we are going down this path once again!
What is desperately annoying here is that Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF cronies rigged last year’s elections, they do not have the democratic mandate of the people of Zimbabwe to govern the nation. So they imposed themselves on the nation only to impose their failed voodoo-economic policies that we know already that they do not work.
Zimbabwe is standing at the very edge of the precipice, with unemployment a nauseating 90%, 3/4 of the population now living on US$30 or less per month, basic services such as supply of water and health care totally collapse, nation is facing chronic shortages and/or soaring prices, etc. The situation is socially, politically and morally unsustainable and it will not take much to send the nation down over the edge into social unrest or worse.
OK, we have looked over the edge into the abyss and have seen that it is ugly. We must now step back! We must now demand that Zanu PF step down, the regime has no mandate to govern and it clearly has no clue how to revive the country’s economic meltdown.
Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF cronies do not have the divine right to govern the country against our collective will. They do not have the divine right to send the nation tumbling down into the abyss. It is our duty and responsibility to save ourselves and the nation.
Zimbabwe’s serious economic meltdown is a result of 39 years of corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF misrule. This is a man-made problem and per se within the powers of mortals to solve.

This is the tragedy of Zimbabwe; we have the Zanu PF ruling elite who are so corrupt and incompetent their default political position is the vote rigging, using brute force and imposing the voodoo economic policies. The Zanu PF thugs have failed but they cannot accept that reality.
How the nation is going to wrestle power from the regime is the biggest challenge of our generation. The challenge has been made that much tougher by having an incredibly corrupt and incompetent opposition and a equally naive and gullible electorate. The nations has had many golden opportunities to implement the democratic reforms and end the Zanu PF dictatorship but have wasted everyone of them because the opposition was not up to the task.
Still, the reality of the worsening economic meltdown is going to force the people to demand change because the situation cannot go on for much longer. Human being will not suffer and go to their death quietly like sheep, even those who have who have been beaten into totally subservient submission as the Zimbabwe populous.
39 years after independence and the nation is standing of the edge of the precipice because of the dire state of the nation's economy. Unemployment has soared to nauseating heights of 90%. 3/4 of our people are living on US$30 or less per month which less than 5% of the US$650 per month poverty datum line.
Our health care has all but collapsed; it is now the norm to hear ever referral hospitals like Parerenyatwa and Mpilo Hospital have no bandages, painkillers, etc. The situation in the smaller hospitals is a hell lot worse. Chegutu district hospital's mortuary has been unusable for the last six months and corpses are kept in the ward awaiting to be collected by relatives. It is common for corpses to stay in the ward for three days!
Mnangagwa promised zero tolerance on corruption but a year and half since taking over from Mugabe he has failed to arrest even one of the diamond looters. Not one! Indeed he has since admitted his failure. "I now realise that corruption is deep rooted!" he confessed.
Of course, he has known that corruption is deep-rooted all along after all he is the godfather of the corrupt ruling elite thugs.How can he uprooted corruption when his cabinet and all his cronies are corrupt including he himself. How can he uproot the very people keeping him in power? How can he uproot himself?
But to listen to Mnangagwa's speech one would believe that everything in the country is fine. Whilst he and his junta friends can afford to bury their heads in the sand and pretend everything is fine the nation would be foolish to do the same. Zimbabwe's economic meltdown is causing heart breaking human suffering and many lives are being lost unnecessarily. We must do something to end the economic meltdown as a matter of urgency.
We can do nothing meaningful to end the economic meltdown as long as Mnangagwa and Zanu PF remain in office. The regime rigged last year's elections, it is illegitimate and must step down. Time is running out, Mnangagwa nd Zanu PF must step down now!

It calls for inclusive human-centred approach to economic development that prioritises the welfare of the people,” you say.
Zanu PF will never reform itself out of power, after 39 years of asking the party to implement reforms one was hoping that this is a lesson everyone has learned and accepted as established fact. What we need is stop burying our head in the sand.
Zanu PF is illegitimate, the party rigged last year’s elections for Pete’s sake, and we must demand that the regime step down! The economic situation in the country is heart breaking and we really do not have to time to waste on appeasements and platitudes!
Speaking in a televised interview aired by the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) on the eve of the country's Independence Day celebrations on April 18, he conceded that his anti-graft fight has not been successful.
"Corruption is deep-rooted. I thought by making a pronouncement that ‘let us fight corruption' it will go away. No. It's not like that. To fight corruption, you need the police to investigate but there are elements of corruption in the police.
"Once you get past the corruption in the police, the National Prosecution Authority has to prosecute, but there are also elements of corruption in the NPA.
"Then the case must go to court and there are also elements that are corrupt in the judiciary. So the fight is so wide and deep," he said.
Zimbabwe ranked 160th out of 175 countries according to the 2018 Corruption Perceptions Index reported by Transparency International.
Mnangagwa will never uproot corruption because he is himself corrupt and the godfather of the corrupt ruling elite. Anyone who believed even for one moment that Mnangagwa would end corruption and hold free and fair elections was naive and gullible.
If we are serious about dragging Zimbabwe out of this hell-on-earth the country is in then we must demand that Mnangagwa and his junta step down. The regime has no mandate to govern because Zanu PF rigged last year’s elections.
The economic situation is terrible and set to get worse. Like it or not Mnangagwa and Zanu PF will be forced to step down just as Omar Al Bashir in Sudan has just been forced to do the same!
