Chamisa is a mere mortal who MUST be accountable to the people and we must condemn this Chamisa Chete Chete foolishness. W Mukori

We really need to get over this idiotic view that some leaders are infallible demigods who must never ever be criticised much less held to account. The worst crime anyone can commit in Zimbabwe is to criticise Mnangagwa or Chamisa especially when the criticism is valid.

Criticise Mnangagwa and you will be subjected to all manner of harassment, intimidation and even send to prison. Zanu PF rigged the elections but instead of addressing the evidence of the flawed and illegal process the regime will accuse you of being a puppet of the West with a regime change agenda.

Criticise Chamisa and the Chamisa Chete Chete mob will be after you day and night accusing you of hating Chamisa and working for Zanu PF. The mob would lynch you, if they could. And yet it is Chamisa and company who ARE working for Zanu PF.

Zanu PF has retained all its carte blanche dictatorial powers to rig elections thanks to MDC/CCC failure to implement even one reform in 23 years, including 5 in the GNU. And by participating in flawed elections out of greed Chamisa and company have given vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy.

It is a great pity that even “respectable” journalists have succumbed to the idiotic public paranoia and personality cult foolishness; Chamisa is not only a mere mortal but one with a proven track record as corrupt and incompetent. Why should he not be held to account for failing to implement reform and thus allowing Zanu PF to rig elections.

Journalist should be educating the people and not be the cheer-leaders of this idiotic Chamisa Chete Chete fools’ brigade!

Our political discourse has been reduced to meaningless prattle for two main reasons:

i) As much as many would claim that they are democrats and would like to have a democratic Zimbabwe they do not subscribe to democratic values such as respect of truth and facts. The level of ignorance and down right stupidity amongst our people is shocking. How can you have an intelligent debate about free, fair and credible elections with some one who does not know what constitute free, fair and credible elections.

ii) Whilst most Zimbabwe would readily subscribe to the notion that all those in public office must be democratically accountable to the people many Zimbabweans out there, from both sides of the political divide believe this should only apply to everyone else but not their estimable leaders. Zanu PF dismiss all criticism as western sponsored regime change agenda. Nonsense, what has outsiders got to do with Zanu PF rigging elections, for example. The opposition think they should never be held to account since they are not the ruling party. Nonsense too since the opposition should have implemented reforms during the GNU and did not have to participate in flawed elections out of greed.

As much as we would like to be a healthy democracy, we are far from being anywhere near it! If you do not even have the intellect to distinguish facts from fiction and to appreciate the importance of truth and reality in life; it is little wonder we are a failed state.

Socrates — 'Strong minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, weak minds discuss people.’

All our discourse is anchored in trivial matters, a reflection of the weakness of our minds.

The very idea that anyone who questions Chamisa's performance is undermining the struggle to end the Zanu PF dictatorship is foolish. Chamisa and company not only failed to implement reforms but have been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy; if that is not tantamount to perpetuating the dictatorship then what is!!!

It is tragic that journalists, whose duty to society is to educate are now cheer leaders of this foolish Chamisa Chete Chete fools brigade!

@ Chisa

“Your understanding is very poor. All we say is give us or show us e alternative.”

I have raised substantive issues such as by failing to implement even token reform MDC/CCC are aiding and abetting Zanu PF and thus perpetuating the dictatorship. Idiots like you are stubborning refusing to address these issues in your idiotic determination to stifle debate, silence the truth of Chamisa’s chequered past of corruption and breathtaking incompetence.

Are you saying I CANNOT bring up Chamisa’s incompetence and uselessness until I “give an alternative”? Who are you to tell me or anyone else out there what I must write about!

We should be discussing substantive issue and not trivial matters like dictating what people should be talking about, that a mere mortal like Chamisa should not be accountable, etc. As much as we desperately need to get out of this hell-hole we are be held to ransom by the mud-crabs stuck with the personality cult Chamisa Chete Chete mentality! How anyone can be so shallow, thick and slow to be so easily conned by an upstart with Chamisa again and again and again for 23 years and counting beggars belief!

“Inga bren dzako dziri sharp as long as you move them away from your pathological hatred of the opposition.”

Shame!

So you still believe the opposition untouchable and anyone who dares to hold them to account has a "pathological hatred of the opposition." This is nothing new, Zanu PF idiots too have always believed they are untouchable and all those who trying to hold them to account are puppets of the West with a regime change agenda.

Have have fought hard to end the Zanu PF dictatorship but before the job is done, it is clear we have already created another autocracy in Zanu PF's image! All those who have dared to say Chamisa is a mere mortal are enemies of the nation and the opposition’s own marauding demagogues will harass and intimidate them into silence.

For the record, Chamisa is not only a mere mortal but one with a proven track record as a corrupt and incompetent leader. Chamisa and company have failed to implement even one token reform and hence the reason why Zanu PF continues to blatantly rig the elections willy-nilly.

If speaking the truth is tantamount to hating Chamisa then so be it - the truth will never be swept under the carpet to appease a village idiot! NEVER!

Part 1/2

POWER wrangles in the beleaguered Citizens' Coalition for Change (CCC) are deepening amid revelations by a camp led by self-imposed secretary-general Sengezo Tshabangu that it will not budge or enter into any negotiations to disband its committee as suggested by another faction led by acting president Welshman Ncube.

Ncube is acting president for a rotational 90 days followed by Tendai Biti and Lynette Karenyi Kore, according to spokesperson Jacob Mafume. Recently, Ncube said in an interview that he will be engaging Tshabangu to "bring back our party".

The drama intensified after CCC founding leader Nelson Chamisa quit recently, citing infiltration within the party following a series of recalls engineered by Tshabangu. Indications are that Chamisa now plans to form another opposition movement.

Tshabangu's committee which hogged the limelight through recalls of MPs, has Dingilizwe Tshuma, former legislator for Entumbane-Njube constituency in Bulawayo as chair; Albert Mhlanga (former Pumula MP and deputy); Sengezo Tshabangu (secretary-general); Khaliphani Phugeni (information); Sikhululekile Moyo (interim chairperson for women); Nomvula Mguni (ex-proportional representation MP); Mbuso Siso (treasurer); and Benoni Ncube (youth).

On the other hand, the Welshman Ncube-led faction says it is leading a structure of officials elected at the 2019 MDC-Alliance congress.

In an interview with The NewsHawks, Phugeni said it is preposterous for the Ncube camp to wish away Tshabangu.

"We noted what Ncube said in an interview with Cite. However, CCC is where it is because of our committee and leadership of the interim secretary-general (Tshabangu). His position is undisputed. That is why at one time Chalton Hwende once labelled himself secretary-general on X and then deleted it," he said.

Phugeni said claims by the Ncube camp that Tshabangu is an imposter and that he must relinquish his post together with his committee are inconsequential. "There are people who took the interim secretary-general saying he is an imposter. They failed to prove it and the courts threw away their cases. In the same vein, anybody else cannot overturn that precedent.

"When they say they want their ‘party back' what do they mean? There can never be any negotiations about that. The interim secretary-general will stand his ground. The only negotiations that can be there may be centred on how we can safeguard the gains that have been brought about by the interim secretary-general," he said.

When asked whether Tshabangu is thinking of making another wave of recalls, Phugeni said due to a court order that halted the recalls, it is unlikely that the recalls can continue.

"We are almost at a stage where we wanted to take the party. The cleaning of the party is almost done. There is a court order that put the recalls at halt until finalisation of an appeal so the interim secretary-general will abide by that," he said.

The CCC has disintegrated into three distinct yet fluid factions following the resignation of Chamisa which took some legislators and party officials by surprise. The freeing of the fiery Job Sikhala from prison after he spent 595 days behind bars added other dynamics to the saga.

Chamisa's resignation resulted in a scramble for the heart and soul of the party, with three factions emerging: one loyal to Chamisa, the other which has coalesced around former MDC-Alliance vice-presidents Welshman Ncube and Tendai Biti as well as the self-imposed CCC interim steering committee led by Tshabangu.

Prt 2/2

The self-destruct gene in CCC has kicked in and there is no turning back. If the truth must be told, CCC went into the 2023 elections the weakest the opposition has ever been since MDC was launched in 1999.

CCC was a one-man band since its launch in 2022, with no constitution, no party structure and no elected offices. It was clear everyone held their peace hoping they will be one of the few to win the few gravy train seats the party was gunning for in the 2023 elections. There were winners and there were losers and the later fought back with the recall of the former triggering the self-destruct gene because this marked the start of the dog-eat-dog infighting.

Sengezo Tshabangu has stopped all recalls because he was ordered to do so be the court once that court order is no longer valid the recalls may well start. There is plenty more blood to be spilt. What is most tragic here is that Zanu PF is the beneficiary of all this chaos and the ordinary people are the biggest losers!

Yes, we have "the wherewithal to catapult Africa into a different orbit"! The reality is we have not done so. Zimbabweans are starving in a country that before Zanu PF rule was the bred basket of the whole region - a damning testimonial to our failure to govern ourselves, to THINK!

“Ko type yana Job coming out of prison and forming a party. Why not solidify the existing ones instead of splitting ma votes.

Electorate yadii havo iko kumusoro kuzere confusion?”

The desirable outcome is to have good leaders, period. No one wants bad leaders but we all know there are some really bad leaders out there. And here is how good/bad leaders come into office.

Competent voters elect good leaders and they keep them on the narrow and the keep them on the narrow and straight path. Ignorant and naive voters elect bad leaders and have no clue how to keep them on the narrow and straight!

If there are no quality leaders or quality political parties, this is indeed so hence the reason why Zimbabwe is a failed state; what is there to solidify. What Zimbabwe needs is to implement democratic reforms, drain the sewage pond, and refill it with clean water only then will have quality fish.

It is tragic that 43 after independence the ordinary Zimbabweans is still as poor as a church, not allowed to own the one thing they can own - land. Every Zimbabwean must be allowed to own the 0.5 sq. km on which their homestead stand.

It is ironic the ruling elite who are denying the ordinary Zimbabwean 0.5 sq. km all own vast tracks of land. Bona Mugabe owns 21 farms with a staggering 30 000 sq. km or the size of Lesotho!

The ruling elite have denied the ordinary Zimbabwean the a meaningful say in the governance of the country because they know they have lost the trust and confidence of the voters. The ruling elite are consolidating their iron grip on political power by denying the people a free vote and by keeping the people poor and dependent on the ruling elite.

Granting all Zimbabwe the right to land will open the door to them claiming they vote and human dignity. We cannot allow a few corrupt and incompetent buffoon hold the whole nation to ransom.

Just like her memorial service in Nyatsime June 2022, ugly scenes of political violence pitting Zanu PF and CCC supporters took centre stage.

But this time activists apparently loyal Chamisa raucously objected to opposition politician Job Sikhala addressing mourners.

Sikhala was hired as family lawyer in the aftermath of Moreblessing Ali's shock murder which was followed by the discovery of her dismembered body.

Speaking to ZimLive weekend, Washington Ali, brother to the slain opposition activist, said the family was left violated by the disruption of his sister's funeral.

"We felt violated," he said.

The behaviour of the Chamisa supporters were reprehensible and yet typical of our chaotic and power centric political culture. As much as the opposition pretend they are fighting to end the Zanu PF dictatorship, the truth is they are fighting to replace the Zanu PF dictatorship with the CCC dictatorship.

Chamisa and company believe they have the right to be the country’s sole opposition party and will defend that patch just as ruthlessly as Zanu PF thugs defend the regime’s claim it alone has the right to govern the country.

Indeed, the fight in the opposition camp is often more ruthless than the fight against Zanu PF. It is not uncommon for one opposition faction to recall elected officials from another factions only to gift the seats to Zanu PF. Morgan Tsvangirai recalled Tendai Biti and company in 2013 and now Sengezo Tshabangu has just done the same thing so now Zanu PF has a super majority in parliament!

@ SA based VI

“Wanga uriko here iwe usanyepere vanhu nekuda kunzi unoziva.”

So you are denying that Chamisa loyalists attended the funeral because you were not there but believe the funeral took place. Or do you deny that the funeral of Moreblessing Ali took place. Better still, you are denying that she ever existed and there is no place called Chitugwiza!

The sheer stupidity of some people is simply shocking. No wonder we are a failed state and at this rate we are doomed to remain a failed state!

No wonder you black out your name - you must know some of your comments are stupid! The tragedy for Zimbabwe is that a twat like you has the vote and have used it to keep the buffoons and sellouts now ruling the country with such disastrous consequences.

“Uyu life yake kunyora nezvaChamisa chete.”

The concept of “All those holding public office must be democratically accountable to the people” is central to healthy and functioning democracy. It is a bitter pill to swallow for the myopic and braindead who consider leaders to be infallible demigods. How anyone can be so shallow, thick and slow to consider a mere mortal infallible, in this day and age, beggars belief.

Chamisa is not just a mere mortal but a corrupt and incompetent one. He has sold out of reforms allowing Zanu PF to rig elections. Of course, he will be held to account - that is not negotiable!

I know some party leaders have encouraged this barbarism to happen whilst others have condemned it publicly whilst encouraging it in private. Are you saying Chamisa’s supporters would never do this or are we in this idiotic do it and plead innocent mode!

So are you saying the disruption did not happen since you or anyone saw the party cards of the individuals? I do not care whether they were Chamisa’s supporters, MDC A, Zanu PF, etc. What I am condemning is the very fact that it happened!

SANCTIONS IMPOSED ON ZANU PF MUST STAY UNTIL ZIMBABWE HOLDS FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS!!!!!!!!!!

The more stringent UN sanctions imposed on the white colonial Rhodesia regime were just and justified in the fight to end white oppression.

Zimbabwe is a failed state precisely because we have failed to hold free and fair elections. Zanu PF rigged the 2023 elections as SADC and the AU election observers have confirmed. The right to free elections is more than a right it is the essence of good governance. We, in Zimbabwe, are suffering and dying for want of good governance.

The same black nationalists who justified UN sanctions to end white colonial oppression are today calling for the lifting of sanctions to protect the oppressors because they are the oppressors. To the victims of oppression; oppression is oppression regardless who is doing the oppression. To the mouse, the bite of a cobra is just as deadly as that of the black mamba!
