What is the character of a defeated race. Stephen Bantu Biko.

STEPHEN BANTU BIKO in his book " I write what I like" says the following  amongst others.

What is a character of a defeated race?

- A race that brags about expensive clothes that they wear, that are produced by another race.

- A race that brags about cars that they drive, that are manufactured by companies owned by another race.

- A race that brags about their houses that are financed by financial institutions owned by another race.

-A race that takes their kids to school to be taught by another race.

- A race that will celebrate their wedding in the style of another race.

- A race that has fully adopted language and religion of another race.

- A race that will hate each other defending another race.

- A race that will get excited to work for another race.

- A race that the only freedom it has is the freedom to vote and not economic freedom.

- A race that will kill each other just to have a political position and be in office and not be in power.

- A defeated race is that race that is in majority but it's survival relies on the minority race.

Are you part of the defeated race? Sadly  I am.

"The first step therefore is to make the black man come to himself; to pump back life into his empty shell; to infuse him with pride and dignity, to remind him of his complicity in the crime of allowing himself to be misused and therefore letting evil reign supreme in the country of his birth."

~ Steve Biko.

It is a great pity that he did not live long enough to see the end of apartheid and to help chart out the path independent SA was to follow. One can see that Biko and Nelson Mandela would have complimented each other because both were great intellectuals with a vision.

It is ease to see why Zimbabwe is in such a mess, the country has yet to have one leader, on either side of the political divide, with common sense much less a vision! Zimbabwe has been ruled by buffoons for 44 years and counting and it shows!

"What are the characters of a defeated race?" asked Steve Biko. What would he say to see what has become of SA 30 years after the end of apartheid? Whilst ANC has delivered on the promise of freedom and human rights for all it has failed to deliver on the economic front.

Biko's disappointment with countries like Zimbabwe would be palpable. 44 years after independence and we are yet to hold free and fair elections. Zimbabwe's economy is in ruins after 44 years of gross mismanagement and rampant corruption.

Zuma has the mentality of Zanu PF thugs, he must rule because he fought for the liberation of SA. He sees nothing wrong with looting because it is part of his entitlement. If he is excluded from the coalition, he will be as disruptive as hell!

A former Burkinafaso Minister being forced to show the location of his booty. He finally admits having stolen embezzled and was ready to return all in exchange for his life.

We are still to learn about the rule of law. This is just a kangaroo and administering kangaroo justice of he holding the thick end of the whip is right and will do the whipping! All those doing the whipping could easily find themselve on the business end of the whip tomorrow!

ANC is in denial that the people of SA rejected the party because it has failed to deliver economic prosperity because of gross mismanagement and rampant corruption. ANC has enjoyed a majority mandate to govern these last 30 years and it is nonsense to now pretend the party has failed to deliver because of DA.

The biggest challenge now is on whether or not ANC leaders have the common sense to admit coalition with DA will deliver the economic recovery the nation is dying for.

The colour of the cat does not matter as long as it kills the rats responsible for the mismanagement and corruption. Zuma and Malema will never end the corruption of that we can be certain.

Zuma gives his number one reason why he and his MKP must be included in the ANC coalition government: I FOUGHT IN THE LIBERATION WAR. I AM ENTITLED TO RULE THIS COUNTRY! He has completely airbrushed his well documented cases of corruption - these never happened.

Zuma's liberation war entitlement mentality is the same as that of Zanu PF.

Zuma joining the coalition will not help ANC or South Africa deliver the economic recovery the people are dying for, that is certain. If he is left out, he clearly intends to be as disruptive as hell.

I would rather have DA and economic recovery, and pull the millions of SA out of poverty. Let Zuma piss into the tent. It would be irresponsible to let him held the nation to ransom.

@ Wilfred

What I know is Malaba and crew gave Mnangagwa legitimacy.

True, but you did not answer the question. Did Malaba gave Zanu PF legitimacy because MDC A participated in the flawed elections or it because HC gave Mwonzora control of MDC A?

Similarly in the 2023 elections whoever gave Zanu PF legitimacy or decided to turn a blind eye to Zanu PF rigging; did they do so because CCC participated in the flawed elections or because Tshabangu recalled CCC leaders?

DA set up their coalition bid: number one issue is reviving SDA's economy by addressing the key issues of corruption and mismanagement.

Zuma set up his coalition bid: to rescue ANC from Ramaphosa.

The truth is many South Africans have been complaining about the economy and now ANC leaders may well ignore them yet again. The prospect ofd the SA economy sinking even further into the abyss is disastrous for SA and the whole region. No wonder the whole region is watching events in SA with great interest.

Nonsense! If Chamisa and his 44% of followers had not participated in the elections how anyone can say this would not have been noticed beggars belief. The argument that CCC did the nation a great favour by participating in the flawed elections is just foolish. MDC leaders did not implement even one reform during the GNU because Mugabe bribed them. Are you saying they were doing the nation a favour too?

The trouble is we have some people whose understanding of the issues is so superficial they believe anything they are told and even make up feeble excuses of their own just to cover for opposition failures. No wonder we have struggled to hold leaders to account on anything!

CITIZENS Coalition for Change (CCC) legislator Chalton Hwende has expressed skepticism about the Southern African Development Community's (SADC) intervention in Zimbabwe's disputed 2023 elections. This stance contradicts CCC's former leader Nelson Chamisa, who is urging SADC to address the political deadlock resulting from the contested elections that extended President Emmerson Mnangagwa's mandate.

Chamisa has been actively writing to SADC for intervention, but Hwende, speaking in a public forum, stated that SADC considers the matter closed and is unlikely to take action. He recounted a meeting with SADC's executive secretary, where the issue of Zimbabwe was dismissed, indicating no forthcoming assistance.

We have known that SADC was not going to to anything in Zimbabwe regarding the disputed 2023 elections it is only Chamisa and some of the CCC propaganda media such as Change Radio and Gambakwe who have been spreading the fake news!

The Democratic Alliance (DA) says it will only agree to be part of the African National Congress' (ANC) proposed government of national unity (GNU) if the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), and Patriotic Alliance (PA) are excluded.

Yesterday, ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the party was seeking to form a government of national unity with a broad group of opposition parties.

The party has laid down stringent conditions under which parties would be included in the pact.

Why would Cyril Ramaphosa a GNU when a coalition with MK and EFF or DA will be enough to give ANC majority? A GNU would become so big and unmanageable it would be like yoking a ox with a stubborn donkey back to back.

@ Godfrey

“Hello
We meet again - Good afternoon

Hope we are all well

Sadly we are still stuck in a rut politically.

The only window of opportunity for action to get the wheels of change back into motion is the forthcoming SADC conference when protest can enjoy modicum of respect and protection from the high handed security institutions.

What are our thoughts.”

What exactly will we be protesting against? Is it that SADC let us down by failing to do something to punish Zanu PF for rigging the 2023 elections? Elections in which we, Zimbabweans freely participated in after Chamisa assured us he had plugged all the vote rigging loop holes! CCC leaders took up their gravy train seats even after SADC and AU had condemned the election process as flawed and illegal. CCC insisted they had won in liberated zones and there the elections were free, fair and credible.

Admit it or not participating in the flawed elections and taking up the gravy train seats DID give the excuse some SADC leaders wanted to let Zanu PF off the hook. How ironic that the people who participated in the flawed elections and or took up the gravy train seats are now blaming SADC for their own folly.

You are right, we are indeed stuck in a rut. 44 years after independence and we are still failing to hold free, fair and credible elections! One of the reasons why we are stuck is our failure to understand our problems and thus failure to come up with any meaningful solution. We are conning by an upstart to participate in flawed elections and we foolishly blame SADC! No wonder we are a failed state!
