Tsvangirai "sweating over" military disrupting elections!

“Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s MDC and other parties are sweating over what they say is a covert military operation that could scupper prospects of a peaceful election,” reports Bernard Chiza of the Daily News.

In the GPA the parties agreed a raft of reforms including security sector reforms; sadly not even one of these reforms have seen the light of day. If MDC had pushed through the security sector reforms then there would be no issue Soldiers, Police or CIO messing around in politics. MDC missed this chance and now the party is calling on SADC to help force security officers to stay out of politics. A near impossible task given that this MDC has already agreed on the new Copac draft constitution which does says nothing about Soldiers and Police Officers not taking a partisan bias in politics.

Tsvangirai has already launched his campaign for a yes vote to the Copac rubbish and now the reality is finally dawning on him that the next elections will not be free and fair and all his promises to the contrary are nothing but lies!
There is nothing SADC can do to stop Zanu PF deploying the Soldiers, CIO and the Police to spearhead its campaign of violence as happened in 2008. There only thing to do now for MDC is to come out clean and admit the Copac draft is rubbish and thus force a honest implementation of the agreed reforms!

MDC will never deliver the 1 million jobs for the same reason the GNU failed!

Employers’ Confederation Of Zimbabwe said 3 000 people lost their jobs in 2012, 4 432 in 2011 and 6 972 in 2010.

MDC produced its JUICE plan last month in which the party promised to created 1 million new jobs in the period 2013 to 2018 or 200 000 new jobs a year. So we have the same party that is a partner in this GNU and for the last five years it has created no new jobs instead the nation registered a net loss of 5 000 jobs a year. The plan is an election gimmick, MDC is seeking to full advantage of the suffering and despair to gunner votes when it has no intention of doing anything to create jobs because they are doing nothing to address the underlying causes.

Tsvangirai and his MDC friends have blamed Mugabe and Zanu PF intransigency for the GNU’s failure to stop rot, in particular Zanu PF’s continued land seizures and indigenisation drive. There is no doubt these short-sighted Zanu PF policies have done a great deal to frighten away the much needed foreign investment. What the people have to ask is why MDC has done nothing to stop this Zanu PF madness all these last five years?

What makes the JUICE plan a pipe dream is that MDC is effectively negotiating a new political dispensation in which Zanu PF will still exercise excessive power over all our lives. As long as there are no free and fair elections Mugabe and Zanu PF will continue to dictate what the nation can and cannot do.

If MDC is serious about changing anything then it must start by finally doing something to end Mugabe and Zanu PF’s dictatorial political powers. MDC has already compromised by endorsing this rubbish Copac draft constitution. Zimbabweans must reassert their basic right to free and fair elections by rejecting this Copac draft.

Chamisa sheds crocodile tears over unearthed Zanu PF dirty tricks!

MDC says it has unearthed dirty campaign tactic by Zanu PF in which MDC supporters’ houses will be singled out with red paint whilst Zanu PF supporters’ houses will be painted green. Those living in houses dabbed with red paint will face the full murderous wrath of the Zanu PF terror machine.

“They will be targeting MDC officials and there are plots to assassinate some of them but they are forgetting that politics is not a game of wrestling and is not even synonymous with murder,” said Nelson Chamisa, another MDC leader renowned for his fine rhetorical nonsense.

MDC had a real chance of saving the nation from further anguish, suffering and loss of one more innocent life by acknowledging that to Mugabe and Zanu PF politics is a murderous game. By implementing the agreed democratic reforms and thus ensure elections are free and fair all these Zanu PF dirty tactics will be a thing of the past.

Ever since MDC signed the GPA and become party to this dysfunctional GNU people like Chamisa, Tsvangirai, Biti and others have enjoyed a life style that they never imagined possible. Mugabe has been as generous to MDC leaders on the gravy train as he has been to his own Zanu PF loyalists.

Strict gravy train etiquette demands blind loyalty to Mugabe and that no one should rock the boat. Chamisa, Tsvangirai and everyone in MDC knew the reforms were necessary for putting an end to the country’s culture of violence and for good governance. They have not implemented these reforms because gravy train etiquette stopped them.

Even in the face of all this evidence that Zanu PF is planning a murderous campaign MDC is still lying that the party will still implement the reforms just to please Mugabe in the hope the tyrant will allow them back on the gravy train! Zimbabweans will only have themselves to blame if they fail to see MDC duplicity and allow themselves to be dragged into this political nightmare!

Tsvangirai Did Not implement Any Reforms Because He Had Learnt "Kudya Anyerere!" - Gravy train Etiquette!

The single most important task Tsvangirai and MDC had to do was to ensure the agreed democratic reforms were implemented. They have had five years now and still not even one reform has been implemented. You have to ask why? The truth is Tsvangirai took his eyes off the ball.

A senior Zanu PF member once cynically remarked, a few months after the formation of the GNU in 2009, that "Tsvangirai adzidza kudya anyerere!” Meaning that Tsvangirai had already learnt that the price for enjoying the benefits of being on the gravy train was that he must not criticise Mugabe and Zanu PF, he must never rock the boat!

Forcing through the implementation of the democratic reforms would have constituted rocking the boat. The Copac draft constitution is as feeble and weak as the draft Mugabe produced and Tsvangirai and MDC rallied the nation to reject in the referendum in 2000. Tsvangirai and MDC have already endorse the Copac rubbish knowing fully well it will not bring free and fair election, help end the country’s culture of violence or safe guard the right to life itself! The only reason Tsvangirai and his MDC friend are campaigning for a yes vote to this Copac rubbish is because to do anything else would constitute rocking the boat!

Zimbabweans can see for themselves that this dysfunctional GNU has failed to deliver of the key task of ensuring the next elections are free and fair and the result a true reflection of the democratic will of the people. In other words the referendum will really be a chance for the people to judge this GNU’s performance on this single issue: Has the GNU done what was expected of it to ensure free and fair elections? Of course common sense will say the answer is a big NO and thus vote accordingly in the referendum. But is a country where common sense is not so common; it is highly probable the people will still with a big NO but vote yes in the referendum!

In the 1970s the American car industry faced ruin and collapse; it was failing to compete with imported cars, especially from Japan. American car manufacturers mounted a concerted “Buy American” campaign spending billions of dollars which only increased the unit price of American cars making the Japanese car even more attractive.

Americans were buying Japanese cars because they were cheap, small, fuel efficient with very useful extras like air-condition thrown at no extra charge compared to American cars which were very expensive fuel guzzler, oversized with very expensive upholstery and all manner of gadgets the buyer did not want but still had to pay for.

It took one Smart Alec to point out the obvious: Instead of spending all this money trying to sell the American people a car they neither want nor can afford, why not produce a car they want and can afford! The penny in the ivory tower blocks in Detroit and across America finally dropped, common sense prevailed, and one of the greatest and finest American industries was saved!

The countless stories of increasing violence right across Zimbabwe should have set Church bells ringing nonstop, not just dropping pennies, warning Zimbabweans that there will be NO free and fair elections and therefore vote NO in the referendum. Many Zimbabweans are going to follow what their political masters tell them to do and vote yes even when it makes no sense. They do not have common sense.

Americans have an IQ of 108; common sense is a very common currency. In Zimbabwe where the average IQ is a misery 66, not must better than that of an idiot, common sense is as rare as “a 16 year old virgin at Mupandawana Growth Point”, as my friend would say! "Dzaka chochonya kare!" (They hatched a long time ago!)

National Hero's Son Destined For Pauper's Grave: Common Story in A Failed State!

The son of the late Josiah and Ruth Chinamano, Josiah Chinamano Jnr died at Parerenyatwa Hospital on Christmas day. He now risk pauper’s burial after Zanu PF failed to help the family raise money to retrieve the body form mortuary where it has been lying since Christmas Day.

This is sad testimony of the depth of the rot in Zimbabwe today – the people are so impoverished they have cannot afford to give their dead a decent sent off and have to ask the State assistance.

The deceased his mother and father played a prominent role in the fight for independence and were declared National Heroes and are interned at the National Heroes’ Acre in Harare.  a to help bury their dead! It was on the strength of his parents’ historic contribution that the family appeal for help from the State to help bury the son.

It is altogether a very common and familiar story right across the country of men and women who sacrificed their lives, some never came back and others did but have since died whilst other are still alive, and their families and relatives living in total abject poverty.  They have all jointed the millions of other Zimbabweans whose contribution in the liberation war is not so illustrious or were too young or too old to play a role who have been condemned by this corrupt and oppressive Zanu PF dictatorship to a life of total abject poverty.
The late Josiah Snr and Ruth Chinamano must be turning in their graves because the State has not stepped forward to assist burying their son but worse still because a country rich is resources and full of so much promise for economic prosperity for all and not just the few ruling elite has been reduced to this sorry state where millions live in grinding poverty they cannot even afford to bury their dead!

Mugabe is in denial says Senator Gutu - he should look in the mirror!

Obert Gutu, MDC Senator for Chisipite in an opinion in New Zimbabwe predicts that “change in upon us”.

“There is no use being in denial. People don’t eat history,” he wrote.

Talk of being in denial; Senator you should look in the mirror to see who IS in denial!

Mugabe is a ruthless tyrant; we all know that and the nation does not need a lesson in history to be reminded of that. Yes elections should be about ideas and the electorate freely choosing whoever they believe will best govern the nation and not “a declaration of war” on the people. Mugabe is a ruthless tyrant, we have already agreed, so surely it should not be surprising that a tyrant should consider elections an act of war! Indeed, you wrote about the orgy of violence during the presidential run-off elections of 2008.

Senator, was it not agreed that the three parties in the GNU would implement the agreed democratic reforms and write a new constitution for the sole purpose of ensuring the next elections are free and fair and a true reflection of the democratic will of the people of Zimbabwe.

Senator why after four and half years has not even one of these reforms seen the light of day?

“We should forcefully insist on the levelling of the electoral playing field,” argued the Senator. So MDC can “forcefully insist” and have the reforms implemented in four months what it failed to accomplish in four and half years!

Why this GNU wasted four years and nearly US$ 100 million to produce this Copac draft constitution which is so weak and feeble it cannot guarantee even the most basic rights like free elections or the right to life itself!

Senator you and your Leader, PM Tsvangirai and the rest of the MDC leaders failed to key thing the nation expect from you – free and fair elections – but are all in denial and some have even lied that coming elections will be free of the scourge of violence.

You wanted to project yourself as a man of ideas and so will ask you once again: Do you believe the coming elections will be free of political violence?  If not, do you believe the elections should still ahead regardless?

Zimbabwe's scourge of political violence matches on mocking MDC's denials!

At a meeting at Makoni country club in Rusape, the notorious Zanu PF bully, Jabulani Sibanda told over 400 traditional chiefs and headmen that no MDC-T meetings should be sanctioned in the district. They were instructed to record the names of MDC-T supporters who would be denied food, farming inputs or all free government assistance.

Those who do not support Zanu PF have been warned that the violence of 2008 will be visited on them is they do not vote for Zanu PF in the coming elections.

The meeting was attended by ZANU PF stalwart Didymus Mutasa as well as several high ranking police and CIO officers.

‘We have 10 people who have fled from Nyamukamai in the Headlands who have been receiving threats from these chiefs,” MP Pisai Muchauraya and MDC spokesman for the area told SW Radio Africa. “At Gandanzara a family of five fled their home this week after a headman David Zumbanu issued threats against them.’

“Mirizhonga chaiyo yatotanga! (The scourge of political violence has started!)” admitted MP Muchauraya.

Whilst MDC publicly acknowledges the scourge of political violence is getting worse and thus tacitly accept that the party failed the people by failing to get the necessary reforms implemented that would have stop the violence. What is worse, MDC lying to the people that the party will get the reforms implemented and the violence stopped before the elections just to get them to accept the Copac draft constitution.

PM Tsvangirai and his MDC friends have had four and half years to get the democratic reforms implemented and for reasons best known by to themselves not even reform has been implemented. If they had done so all this nightmare of chiefs and headmen being threatened in the presence of the Police and the chiefs in turn threatening defenseless citizens with the horrors of 2008 would not be taking place. It is a complete outrage that these MDC minions should seek to hide their failures and thus drag the nation into yet another bloody election.

Zanu PF and MDC will both be held accountable for every Zimbabwean beaten or raped and every life lost in the coming elections – the former for the heinous act and the latter for lying that there would be no violence.
