Release of SA's report 2002 Zimbabwe elections will be the last straw that killed the camel!

If the report on Zimbabwe’s presidential elections of 2002 compiled by SA is released; it would be more than a headache to Mugabe and Zanu PF, it will be the last straw that killed the camel!

The information may relate to Zanu-PF's complicity in violence, election misconduct that borders on manipulating the process in favour of Mugabe, and confidential information relating to how Mugabe conducts his party affairs, insiders said

The biggest problem the report will present to Mugabe is  that it will confirm the coming elections will not be free and fair and highlight once again why the agreed reforms MUST be implemented BEFORE elections are held if the dirty tricks he used then are not going to be repeated. The report will also show how weak and feeble this Copac constitution and will be found wanting in addressing the constitution problem flagged by the report!

If the report comes out before the referendum vote; it will be an uphill climb for Mugabe to get the yes vote he so, so desperately needs!

@Thinktank

What you and the rest of the world didnot know is the full details. The report will give these details.

Why are you sweating? You have dropped your usual in-your-face arrogance, why? The penny has finally dropped that Mugabe and Zanu PF are not as "untouchable" as you thought, hea!

I am not saying this is the end but that when it comes it will be quick. If I was you I will keep a packed bag because it will be that be quick!

@ tSIKIDZI

The above statements are not fact but merely opnions not back by sound reason and therefore they cannot be facts. These are my answers to the three points you have raised and why i say so

1. No one knows if the report will be released anytime soon, let alone before the elections

THE MAIL AND GUARDIAN GOT A COURT RULING INSTRUCTING THE SA GVT TO RELEASE THE REPORT AND SA, UNLIKE ZIMBABWE, THERE IS RULE OF LAW. SO WE CAN EXPECT THE SA GVT TO RELEASE THE REPORT.

2. No one knows what the report will say

MUGABE AND ZANU PF HAVE NEVER HELD FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS EVER, NO PRICE FOR GUESSING WHAT THE REPORT WILL SAY!

3. Whatever it says, ZANU can just ignore it, and what .......

IT IS NOT WHAT ZANUPF WILL DO THAT MATTERS BUT THE REPORT THE REPORT WILL DO TO ZANU PF AND MUGABE IN PARTICULAR!

One week gone and three to go still Government has not distributed a single copy of the new constitution to the voters. Not a sausage! And yet this government still insists the referendum will go ahead on 16 March 2013.

"It doesn't matter how many months you give," Tsvangirai told reporters. "If you have not already made a decision, I am sure that even if you are given 10 months you will never arrive at any decision. One month is sufficient."

Though admitting funding would be the biggest worry, Tsvangirai said: "We will stick to the 16th of March for the referendum, whatever limitations there are."

After years of twiddling his thumbs doing nothing now Tsvangirai has taken on the task of doing Mugabe’s dirty work with the zeal of a madman who will seat by the fire on a blazing hot day! Tsvangirai ndiye chanda gwinyira shavi rebedzi rinodziya moto zuva richibanda!

Zanu PF dismiss President Khama's fear that there will be violence in Zimbabwe's upcoming elections.

Chimanasa described the wanton violence of 2008 as "mere skirmishes" and, of course, no one was ever arrested for the over 500 murdered to say nothing of the hundreds of thousands beaten and/or raped. When you dealing with a political party with such a laid-back to human suffering and loss of life it is not surprising the party is not bothered if the wanton violence is repeated again this years.

“The harmonised elections will be done in a peaceful manner, we have seen all the principals in the unity government persistently making calls for peace and that is a welcome development as we move to shun violence and intimidation,” Rugare Gumbo said. No doubt MDC supporters will be accused of starting the violence!

The nation should not have to rely on someone keeping their word to keep the peace. The reforms should have been implemented and the nation would be certain of free and fair elections and not have this sword of Damocles hang over their heads!

The essence of a good and robust constitution is that the nation will be rule by law and not the whim of a mortal and a tyrant at that!

@ Better Zimbabwe

The only sure way of stopping this madness is by taking away dictatorial powers Mugabe has assumed for himself to have these ruthless and mindless thugs above the law so their can carry out these heinous crimes on defenceless people forcing them to vote for him. We must insist on having elections after the democratic reforms to dismantle the dictatorship have been carried out. By voting no in the referendum Zimbabweans will force the implementation of the reforms BEFORE elections are held.
