"Where are our diamonds going?" asked Mugabe. What a foolish question and what a fool to ask it!

"Find money Chinamasa," Mugabe said to loud applause from thousands of supporters attending the Zanu PF Congress in Chinhoyi. "You can't say there is no money. Where is our platinum going? Where is our gold going? Where are our diamonds going?

What a foolish question to ask and what a fool to be asking it! You and your cronies are the ones looting the nation's wealth and you pretend not to know.

The late Solomon Mujuru's fortune was valued at $ 9 billion and his wife has $ 4 billion. These two alone can pay off the national debt of $12 billion.

You, Mugabe and your wife have 13 farms valued at tens of billions of dollars to say nothing of the cash and other goodies you have in foreign bank accounts, in the country and foreign lands.

Your relative Philip Chiyangwa has a fleet of posh cars and fortune valued at $270 million.

People like David Beckham , Bill Gates, Henry Ford are rich and everyone can see how they made their fortune. People bought trillion football shirt every season just to have Beckham's name on it. At one point there was a million Microsoft Computer being sold everyday across the world. Henry Ford made his fortune designing and manufacturing cars.

What has Chiyangwa, Mujuru or you yourself Mugabe ever made? You are all filthy rich from looting, you have produced nothing.

The only way Zimbabwe is ever going to get out of the economic and political mess Mugabe and Zanu PF have landed the country in is by restoring the rule of law. And the only way to restore the rule of law is by restoring the people's basic and fundamental right to hold those in power accountable to them, the people.

The right to elect new leaders if those in power have failed the people is at the very heart of that democratic right to a meaningful vote.

Mugabe has just rigged the July 2013 elections and thus robbing the nation the key to ending this mess and now he is asking Chinamasa to find the money to sort out the mess. Where will Chinamasa find the money.

Zimbabwe is subject to the same laws of physics as the rest of the world. Gravitational force in Zimbabwe is 10m/s2 same as anywhere else on earth.

Similarly Zimbabwe is subject to the same basic laws of economics; prosperity is born out of production. Yes Zimbabwe has produced a filthy rich few from corruption and looting but at the price of throwing millions into abject poverty.

Corruption and looting does not create any new wealth but seeks to give the wealth that is there already to a new owner and more often than not by destroys the existing to build the new. One can never build a bigger house from salvaged bricks from an old house because many bricks will be damaged and destroyed in demolishing the old.

Unemployment in Zimbabwe is already seating at 85% plus seizing existing firms and giving them to blacks is not going to reduce the unemployment; that is the kind of voodoo economics that landed us in this mess.

Mugabe says all gold will be sold through a new body ending the current practice where anyone could export and sell gold as long as they had a government licence.

And who is to own and control this new body to have the sole monopoly to sell Zimbabwe’s minerals? Zanu PF operatives, of course; who else! In other words another chance for the filthy rich to loot even more. It was a rhetorical question

If President Zuma thought that by allowing Mugabe to have his wicked ways in Zimbabwe he was washing his hands clean of anything to do with the tyrant's wicked ways he could not have been more wrong.

I am sure ANC supporters are not proud of Zuma's Nkandla scandal but they were willing to over look it. Julius Malema, no doubt aided and abated by Mugabe, are not going to let that happen. The latters' supporters booed Zuma and cheered Mugabe with the world's eyes on South Africa right on cue! That is the kind of publicity Mugabe relishes, if the Zimbabwe tyrant had nothing to do with it he was nonetheless pleased to see that his mentor, Malema, has learnt his dirty tactics well!

I would not put it beyond Mugabe to set up a crack team of CIOs to do everything possible to ensure the demise of Zuma! Zimbabwe has no money to feed its own people the country is in a real economic and political mess but that will not stop Mugabe spending millions of dollars planning the downfall of other leader or nation - that is what tyrants like Mugabe do, instinctively!

“We shall be looking at the possibilities of rationalising the mining of diamonds," Mugabe said.

"We would also want greater transparency then. Our own arm mind you in all these companies we have ZMDC … ZMDC is doing nothing."

Typical of tyrants, they never ever admit to anything going wrong the nearest they ever come to doing that is by blaming everyone else. Who set up, controlled and benefited from the lack of transparency in the operations of ZMDC if it was not Mugabe and his cronies!

@ Johnnycash

Name one thing Zuma has ever done that was brilliant and I will name five blunders he made. What is this "in African politics" as if Africans can never be as good or even better than anyone else out there. We are still morning Nelson Mandela and his was the best politician of our generation as you have already forgotten him!

@ Jukwa

Mugabe is himself admitting that there is corruption and so what are you praising him for. For creating the political system that allowed corruption to thrive all these last 33 years? How stupid is that!

@ disqus

The only sure way to put an end to this madness is for the people to demand to see the voters roll, the smoking gun in the rigged elections, and have it thorough scrutinized. If there is any evidence of any irregularities then the election results must be declaimed null and void.

Zimbabwe will then have to go back and implement all the democratic reforms and then hold free and fair elections.

Mugabe rigged the elections and the tyrant must not be allowed to get away with it; not this time!

@ Tengenenge

Tengenenge, knowledge is like the rain it washes everything thing clean but can not stop the pig wallowing in the mud! If I lied that life expectancy in Zimbabwe has plummeted and it has done the exact opposite because of "Mugabe land liberation" policy then tell us what has it soared to.

I have never understood how blacks who had gone into the interior to hunt their own kith and kin and sell them to the white slave traders for a piece of calico cloth and a handful of beads failed to see how that was demeaning the white slave-traders but worst of all the blacks who sold his own! I can see that times have changed but spirit to sell one's own for a price is still there in blacks like you.

After 33 years of corruption and murder you are still defending the tyrant because he gave you a Zanu PF T-shirt during the last elections! With morons like you, no wonder Zimbabwe is in a real mess.

Mugabe was so desperate to win the July 2013 elections he sucked the very life out of the nation. Zimbabwe is financial, morally and ideologically bankrupt. This is proving to be a really hollow victory for Mugabe and in his anger, frustration and hopelessness the tyrant is lashing at everyone, everyone except the one person most guilty of all - himself!

The EU can lift its sanctions and normalize relations with Zimbabwe but unless they are willing to spend big because it is going to take billions of dollars to get Zimbabwe out of this mess Zimbabwe is going to remain stuck in this mess. Mugabe will use the lifting of the sanctions as vindication that their imposition was illegal and had damaged the Zimbabwe economy. Even if the West dig deep and bail the tyrant out of the mess, Mugabe will continue to abuse them. It is in the nature of a tyrant to abuse others even those who have just helped him!

Nothing good has ever come out of appease a dictator; Zimbabweans know that now. For 33 years we have allowed Mugabe to do as he pleased and he did just that. It pleased him to loot and leave the whole nation destitute and to deny us our basic rights and freedoms and our very humanity. And for 33 years he has got away with it.

Mugabe, with the help of outsiders like Nikuv, blatantly rigged the July 2013 elections and rob the nation blind in the process. Zimbabweans are determined that he should not be allowed to get away with it. We are asking the West to at least demand that Mugabe should allow an independent body to scrutinize the voters roll for election irregularities before the sanctions are lifted. That, surely, is not too much to ask!

A woman claiming to be the mother of two children father by the late Solomon Mujuru is complaining that they are destitute because it has taken too long to given them their share of his estate.

Well come to the real Zimbabwe dears! After years of life in the fast lane and unparalleled luxuries it must be very hard indeed to have to learn to earn an honest living.

Sorry but I really have no sympathy with all those spoilt brats who have looked down upon the suffering masses of Zimbabwe all those years whilst they drove around in expensive cars and grown fat on the wealth looted from the nation. They thought the gravy train would never stop; while it has. Now grow up and get used to it.

The $9 billion Solomon Mujuru looted does not belong his many wives or children; it belongs to the impoverished masses of Zimbabwe.

@ Chinorwa

Who do you think you are threatening me! You lot are used to threatening, beating and even murdering people who dare express their point of view or worse criticize.

We want a democratic Zimbabwe where everyone is free to be heard and whose right to vote is guaranteed. The time for that Zimbabwe is near upon us; there is nothing you or Mugabe can do to stop the tide of change!

If you fear change because you have loot to protect; then you must learn the virtue of an honest day's work because you will lose all the loot.

If you do not want change because of the innocent blood you shed; then you will hang because "Those who will not live by the law must die by the law!" said the Lord. The Lord has judged you and you must face justice!

Israel has never shown any sign of attrition for being on the wrong side of history when it came it its cozy relationship with apartheid South Africa. It was there to make money and it did make lots and lots of money and that is all Israel cared about. It certainly did not care about the suffering of the millions of blacks South Africans.

Indeed Israel has continued to look for opportunities to make money even if it meant trading with some of the most oppressive regimes in Africa. It was Nikuv, an Israel company, that masterminded the vote rigging of the Zimbabwe elections by Mugabe in July this year, for example. The suffering of blacks mean nothing to Israel.

Just as well no Israel leader attended Mandela's funeral; it would have been hypocritical that Israel should honour him in death when they treated him as scum in life. Israel will attend the funeral of any other the white racists leaders' funeral, no one will accuse the Israeli delegates of shedding crocodile tears then!

The EU are not pushing for the voters roll to be scrutinized; if it ever going to happen then it is us ordinary Zimbabweans who have to push for it. I agree with you the close scrutiny of the voters roll will undo the Mugabe "landslide victory".

Yes the EU can help push Mugabe to come clean and release the voters roll but if Mugabe gets away with the vote rigging it would be Zimbabweans themselves who have let that happen!

@ Chimbwido

The West has never tried to "suffocate" Zimbabwe economically or in any other way. Zimbabwe is in a real economic mess because of the three decades of gross mismanagement, rampant corruption and, in the last 13 years, an all-out looting spree.

To "win" the July 2013 elections Mugabe was not content with the billions of dollars he got from his looting of Marange diamonds; he wanted even more money to pay Nikuv, bribe Zanu PF Officials and parliamentary candidate, bussed voters, etc. So he rob government blind.

How can the Ministry of education receive a misery $ 50k out of a budget of $ 380 m? Yet that is what they got in the whole year. Prisoners are starving because there is no money to buy them food. Even MPs are going on French leave because there is no money.

The Zimbabwe government is broke because Mugabe has been spending the looted fortune plus the little in the public coffer as if there was no tomorrow. Well there is certainly no tomorrow now!

Mugabe thought his friends from the Middle East and the Far East, who have benefited the most from his corrupt rule would bail him out. They have made him "run, run and run" he admitted last week only for him to get nothing!

Mugabe is now hoping that the West will bail him out economically. Countries like Belgium are keen to have the sanctions against Mugabe lifted not because Zimbabwe is now a democracy if anything Mugabe is now set to make Zimbabwe the North Korea of Africa.

Belgium has just fined Omega Diamonds a Belgian company $195 m for tax evasion possible because of the lucrative trade in illicit diamonds. Zimbabwe is one of the major sources of such diamonds. Belgium wants to kill the illicit trade by lifting trade ban in Zimbabwe's diamonds so that companies like Omega can pay taxes to the Belgian government.

Belgium does not care that Mugabe rigged the July elections so that he and his cronies can continue to loot the country. Still we hope that there are other countries who care and they will not bailout Mugabe!

Mugabe rigged the July elections and bankrupting the nation in the bargain; lifting the sanctions against the tyrant will be rewarding him for rigging the elections and bankrupting the nation - that is morally and ethically unacceptable!
