Mujuru invite Mnangagwa to unite, 'failure is letting Satan run away with Bible' - how naive N Garikai

“Mr Mnangagwa we urge you to make a reflective damascene moment and realise that the National problem is just the Gushungo Dynasty and that its time to join the opposition trenches in resolving the National problem of the Gushungo Dynasty,” said Joice Mujuru.
“Divide and rule tactic can never be allowed to divide Zimbabweans anymore.”
So, when exactly did Mai Mujuru have her “damascene moment” for her to be preaching to others? After 34 years of playing her part in the creation and retention of the corrupt and tyrannical de facto Zanu PF one-party dictatorship and, needless to say, she and her late husband got their lion’s share of the looted wealth. We all know of how the Mujurus owned Bindura and how everything they touched turn to dust.
It was only after she was booted out of Zanu PF that she spoke ill of Mugabe and Zanu PF. “A puppy does not open its eyes the day it is born,” was a feeble excuse. Nonsense! There must be something extraordinary about Dodito (her home area) dogs that they should take 34 years to open their eyes!
Whilst we are still talking of repenting, it would be nice of Mai Mujuru to give up some of her amassed wealth the people of Bindura and Dodito whose lives she helped destroyed during her 34 years in government. Let us just say Saint Paul will not be easily fooled by all this talk of “Damascene moment”!
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is difficult for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” Matthew 19:23 and 24.

It is not as if we are asking our filthy rich politician to give up anything other than what she looted back to the rightful owners!
“We welcome everyone who is willing to make another Zimbabwe possible for failure to unite will be no different from allowing Satan to run away with a Christian bible from a Christian pulpit come 2018 harmonised elections,” she said.

President Mugabe described Mai Mujuru as a “simpleton”.  “Chanana ichi Runaida!” (Runaida (Mai Mujuru’s derogative name) is a naïve and foolish child!), added Emmerson Mnangagwa. They were both spot on!

President Mugabe and Mnangagwa have been rigging elections for decades, right under her nose, and still she has no clue what has been going on. She was VP during the GNU but even now, with the benefit of hindsight, she still has no clue what the raft of reforms they were tasked to implement were about. With not even one reform in place Zanu PF will rig next year’s elections and, the simpleton she is, she wants to contest the flawed elections regardless.

Mai Mujuru is not a democrat all talk of damascene moment and joining the opposition is cheap talk to impress the naïve and gullible. All she wants to do get back into power so she can continue the looting from where she left off. If she had truly changed and now repented her corrupt and tyrannical past then she should be the one demanding the implementation of all the democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging elections once and once for all and guarantee free, fair and credible elections for all.
After nearly four decades at the heart of this corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF regime people like Mujuru and Mnangagwa cannot deny they have played a key role in the destruction of the country’s political institutions and its once promising economy. The best Runaida Mujuru, Emmerson Mnangagwa and all their entourage of political wannabes who were booted out of Zanu PF can do for this nation is for them to acknowledge they betrayed the nation’s trust for selfish person gain and then ride into the political sunset. Mujuru and Mnangagwa are as much part of Zimbabwe’s problems as the tyrant, Robert Mugabe himself, he cannot be part of the solution neither can Mujuru nor Mnangagwa.

For the umpteenth time, Runaida Mujuru, it is not the uniting of the corrupt and incompetent opposition parties that will deliver a better Zimbabwe but the implementation of the democratic reforms to ensure free, fair and credible elections! By the way, there is nothing wrong with letting the Satan run away with the Bible; are you fearful he might convert corrupt and murderous tyrants like Mugabe and his wife to implement democratic reforms! I would happily spend my last penny to make sure State House has a train-load of Bibles!

@ Nomazulu

Very interesting, thank you. When you look at the sorrowfully poor quality of our leaders, on both sides of the political divide, it is clear that we really have not been doing a good job of finding competent and visionary men and women to lead us. People get the government they deserve and there is no denying that we deserve President Mugabe and his corrupt, vote rigging and murderous autocratic regime complete with Tsvangirai and his corrupt and incompetent opposition.

One can only hope that your article will spar the nation to start looking at the question of what qualities should we be looking for in electing leaders with the seriousness and urgency the matter demands!

“In 1980 this person called Mnangagwa wanted to stage a coup. He wanted to wrestle power from the president. He was conspiring with whites. That man is a ravisher,” said Grace.

This is one of the most feeble excuses Mugabe and his wife has ever come-up with in their bid to retain power at all cost. It was President Mugabe himself who has kept Mnangagwa is various cabinet position for all these years and then promoted to the position of VP in 2014. Are we supposed to assume the President did not know of the 1980 coup plot until now!! This is nonsense, this is just the political machination of a husband and wife who desire for power knows no bounds!

"Tichatonga, tigotonga, tigotonga!" (We will rule and rule and rule!) So boasted Emmerson Mnangagwa barely three years ago, soon after Joice Mujuru was booted out of the ruling party. President Mugabe had appointed him VP and he was on cloud nine, beaming with confidence that he was as good as President of Zimbabwe.

Now the man he, Mnangagwa, had rigged so many elections and shed the blood of so many innocent people so he could remain President is thanking him for all his troubles by kicking him in the teeth! Mnangagwa help Mugabe build this corrupt and ruthless dictatorship and instead of allow him to enjoy the fruits of the dictatorship by holding the highest office in the land Mugabe uses his dictatorial powers to boot Mnangagwa out.

There is theatrical justice in this, Mnangagwa is victim of the ruthless dictatorship he helped to create, those who live by the sword will die of the sword!

There talk of Grace Mugabe wanting Mnangagwa arrested for treason; she is scarred silly of the man. He thought he was going to State House to rule and rule but never imagined he will be enjoying the stately comforts of Chikurumbi Prison instead. A fitting end for a man who has caused this nation so much misery and grief!

I agree with Professor Moore, there is a real danger of Zimbabwe sinking into even deeper economic and political chaos and sucking in other countries in the region.

SADC leaders had their best chance to sort out the Zimbabwe political mess during the 2008 to 2013 GNU when the regional body was the guarantor of the agreement that brought about the GNU. Admittedly, SADC leaders tried their best to get the reforms implemented but failed because Tsvangirai and his MDC friends would not listen to them. President Mugabe had bribes the MDC leaders with the trappings of high office and they forgot all about the reforms. Still SADC leaders should have brought even greater pressure to bear on the MDC leaders.

The chaos threatening Zimbabwe today is real and Zimbabwe and many other countries in the region will pay dearly for this mess - SADC leaders will have to accept they too are partly to blame for the mess.

It is not too late for SADC leaders to set in and show Mugabe they are concerned about the chaotic situation he has created in Zimbabwe and that they will not stand by whilst he drags the country and the region even deeper into the abyss. Everyone can see Zanu PF is already rigging next year's elections and SADC can finally put its foot down and demand the implementation of the democratic reforms BEFORE the elections are allowed to go ahead.

Another rigged election next year could be the last straw that triggers Zimbabwe’s chaotic descend into the abyss. SADC should stop the election process before it reaches the point of no return! There is no time to be wasted, SADC leaders must act now and act decisively!

Mnangagwa is an "over rated iguana and not a crocodile," that is a good one.

Mugabe has not moved to fire Mnangagwa's supporters because he knows that there will be very few people left in the party if he did that. Mnangagwa and his supporters were the ones operating the Zanu PF vote rigging juggernaut this is the greatest challenge the tyrant now has to face and deal with!

If Mugabe was to go right now, Grace and her G40 followers will all disappear like a mist in the morning sunshine! Crocodiles are patient hunters and Mugabe knows that and that must worry him. This factional war is not over by a long shot!

Zanu PF provincial committees have already started the purge of Mnangagwa supporters with Manicaland firing Chinamasa, Oppar Muchinguri and many other bigwigs and pledging their loyalty to Mugabe and asking for Grace to be the next VP.
This is terrible, these Zanu PF supporters are all queuing behind Grace Mugabe because they are all fearful of what might happen to them too if they should be seen to question anything Grace says. The country is in serious political and economic trouble and therefore in desperate need for quality leaders this culture of blind loyalty to a leader is what got us into this mess.
Zimbabwe must implement the democratic reforms before next elections, this is the only way we can stop these Zanu PF sycophants imposing another corrupt and incompetent leaders on the nation.
