Mugabe sworn in to start 7th term - another five years of hell for Zimbabweans!

Today Mugabe was sworn in to mark the start of his seventh term as head of state of Zimbabwe. And he turned to his favorite theme, attacking the British.

"Today it is Britain and her dominion, Australia and Canada, who dare tell us our elections were not credible. Who are they to say so, who are they to ask?" said the tyrant.

It was not the British he cheated by rigging the elections but ordinary Zimbabweans. They have complained about the 33 years of economic ruin and political repression but, of course, Mugabe will never ever acknowledge them. They have no political voice, he has seen to it that they do not!

The sheer incompetence with which Tsvangirai and MDC have shown throughout the last five years is breath-taking. They signed the GPA and agreed to implement the democratic reforms everyone agreed were necessary for free, fair and credible elections.

Reforms were the magic lamp without which all the wealth in the cave of wonder would be as worthless as desert sand. Like Aladdin's monkey, Tsvangirai and his MDC friends were distracted by the trappings of power - globe-trotting and chasing women of ill repute, for Tsvangirai. Not even one reform was implemented.

Without the reforms, it was clear the elections would not be free and fair and, of course, they were not.

Mugabe owes his return to power to the Zanu PF dictatorship; i.e. the Zanu PF ruling elite, the security elite, relatives and friends and a select few of the diehard thugs. Many of them already own farms, business, mines, etc. They are the one who will benefit from his “black empowerment policies.

There are hundreds of thousands who have supported the tyrant to the hilt but are as poor as the rest of the populous. They will continue to live in hope but will never get anything.

As for the overwhelming majority of Zimbabweans, he knows he lost their trust a long time ago. He did not expect them to vote for him and that was why he made sure the elections were not free and fair. And to make sure the people are not going to bother him; he has beefed up the security sector.

At a time when the country’s health, education and other public services are barely functioning, Mugabe is spending $200 million, twenty times what the regime spend on health and education in 2012, on a Chinese built Spy University for his feared murderous CIO.

The swearing in of Mugabe marking the beginning of another five years of hell-on-earth for most Zimbabweans!
Anyone who is expecting any good to come out of Mugabe is being as naïve as MDC who believed there could be free and fair elections without reform!

" Zimbabwean elections are meant for Zimbabwean voting citizens," Mugabe said. Yes but for 33 years you have denied the ordinary Zimbabwean a meaningful vote. These elections were not free and fair and he knows it!

Before independence the white colonialists used to insist "our blacks are happy" and completely ignored the blacks' cry for justice and freedom. For 33 years Mugabe and Zanu PF have ridden rough shod over the people's hopes and dreams for freedom and justice and insisted it was the West that wanted regime change and completely ignore the people's wishes.

We have come a long way, 33 years, and yet some things have not changed. We are just as voiceless politically as we were before independence!

@ Brother in USA

The is all very well for you to say "move along" you are in the USA or, if you are in Zimbabwe you are one of the filth rich few. How do you expect the 90% unemployed and impoverished to move on!

Millions of Zimbabweans are sitting in the dark and have no running water. They know things are going to get even worse with Mugabe and Zanu PF back to their old ways of mismanagement, corruption, looting and brutal repression.

"Move along"! What a stupid thing to say!

@ Joe

It is clear that you have been "trusting" in the Lord; so why did we land in this mess in the first place?

No my idiot friend! The God Lord gave your the eyes to see and the ears to hear and the brain to process what you see and hear. The elections were rigged everyone with eyes saw that and everyone ears heard that. Instead of standing up to Mugabe and say this is not right you want the Lord to stand up to the tyrant for you. And whilst still at it, let's blame the West! What a nincompoop!

“Expecting Tsvangirai to attend the inauguration is like expecting a victim of robbery to attend a party hosted by the robber,” his spokesman, Luke Tamborinyoka, told AFP.
It is hard to have any sympathy for the robbed in this case considering MDC had five years to make sure the keys were changed but failed to do so. MDC were confident Mugabe would fail to rob them; so confident they did not close the door much less lock it!

If these MDC morons had any sense then they should be apologizing to the good people of Zimbabwe they have betrayed and let down terribly!

One can only hope that the people of Zimbabwe themselves have learnt an important lesson here; never again to follow leaders blindly!

@ thuglife

We have idiots like this one in America asking really stupid questions. He would only believe the Chinese are looting if he sees the looting with his own eyes!

No doubt he believes in Cecil John Rhodes exploiting the country although he never saw him with his own eyes. He believes in that because it agrees with his narrative of anti-West.

He will not accept that Mugabe is a corrupt and ruthless tyrant because that does not fit with his image of Mugabe as a hero per excellence! He has had to escape from the hardship of Mugabe's misrule but still he will not accept that something is wrong.

Reality or reason can not reach people like him; he has a serious mental blockage!

@ Aristocrat

You have clearly been thinking about this problem and it shows! There is none of the usual naïve and pious nonsense!

You are right Mugabe and his Zanu PF thugs (and Tsvangirai and his MDC idiots, at least since they lost power) have seen " Zimbabwean people as sheep for the fleecing". And 33 years of merciless fleecing have forced the overwhelming majority into a live of abject poverty. The tyrant has murdered over 30 000 as part of his subjugation program.

But it is the people themselves I think we should focus on. They have presented themselves to the tyrant as sheep to be fleeced!

It was the people themselves who approved the weak and feeble Copac constitution. It is true that Tsvangirai assured them it would deliver free and fair elections. The people should have known better than to continue trusting the Bohera goat herder after five years of blundering in-competence!

The people voted yes in the referendum without even reading the Copac rubbish. How stupid was that!

The other reason why I am focusing on the people is that as long as they remain sheepish gulli-ble to elect a tyrant and then an incompetent idiot then they have no hope of ever getting out of this mess!

Tsvangirai is already queuing up for another go at fleecing the people and why not? All he has to do is promise them democratic change; he does not have to deliver, as we have seen (but not the electorate of course)!
If the people continue to present themselves as sheep to be fleeced then they will be fleeced. The fiercest fighting amongst Zimbabweans politicians has been over who was to get on the gravy train and never about stopping it for the common good! Zimbabweans need to wake up to that fundamental political reality or they will never ever know what freedom, justice, peace and all the other niceties life the rest of the world have enjoyed for generations!

@ Mike

Yes I remember it.

By the way Mugabe will always remember the day. When all the media coverage he had been getting was corruption, looting, vote rigging, political intrigue and murder; reports of him denouncing gays and lesbians is a welcome break!

Peter Thatchell's stance would have worked in a democracy. To a dictator, it was a welcome digression Mugabe has milked for all it worth! Indeed he is still milking it as you can see form his speech!

@ Kudzai

Are you telling me then that these elections were free and fair, Mr Einstein?

It is not the evidence you need from that Mugabe is a murderous tyrant, you are in denial. You will not open your eyes and see the mountain of evidence. You prefer to keep your head buried in the sand. No doubt, you can not think straight; your brain is starved of oxygen.

Yes Kudzai, Mugabe did not rig the elections but won free, fair and credible elections. There we are; you can go back to sleep now! (What is the point of arguing with idiot!)

@ Squarebasher

So what the "electoral fraud by Zanu PF has left" me both confused and confounded?

I do not know where you got the confused bit because I have consistently said the elections were not going to be free and fair. MDC should have implemented the reforms and the idiots did not and the rest is history. Clear as a whistle, there was no confusion in that?

"Confounded", well since you have such a limited selection of words; I would let that pass.

I would say the election fraud has left me furious because it could have been avoided. I am furious too because I KNOW the millions of ordinary Zimbabwe are going to suffer greatly.

I do not expect a simpleton like you to understand why I am furious because I do not expect you to comprehend the enormity of the suffering Mugabe's victory will inflict on the nation. You are human but intellectually, you are nothing more than a mouse. You cannot expect a mouse to comprehend the size of a mountain even if its eyes could see that far!

You Squarebasher, you are a mouse and I am a human. Humans have no problem comprehending the vastness of the universe much less a mountain. Mugabe rig the elections, I am furious that the murderous tyrant dare to do that again. I am furious because that is a human reaction and because only by being furious do human stop such outrageous things from happening again.

Zimbabwe will have free and fair elections and the reign of this sewer rat must be brought to an end!
